Hi everyone. Sorry for the long wait. I kept forgetting to get back to writing and always put it off when I thought about it. But now, I joined the Impressions club at the college I go to. The main focus of this club is writing novels, so I thought it would be perfect for writing more FanFiction.

On another subject, Elsa's coronation won't be for another chapter or two. So, I hope you guys enjoy this chapter.

Disclaimer: I don't own HTTYD or Frozen

Chapter 5: Dragons aren't so bad

It was the next morning and Hiccup had just woken up. He still couldn't believe the events from last night.

First, he saved a man from wolves.

Second, he found out that said man was the king.

And third, the king himself declared Hiccup as the Dragon Master/Rider.

As crazy as it was, he was just glad that everyone didn't come running at him and the dragons with weapons, yelling at them to leave.

Then he had another thought.

"The king accepts the dragons, but will everyone else?"

He was brought out of his musing when Toothless came over to him and started growling in concern.

Feeling that this was important, he followed his best friend to the stables. There, he saw what was most likely the problem.

All dragons were present except for Stormfly and Sleuther.

"Hey bud, where are they?" He asked.

Toothless looked in the direction of Arendelle and warbled. Without hesitation, Hiccup put on his disguise, hopped onto Toothless, and took off towards Arendelle, hoping that the two dragons didn't cause too much trouble.

(Arendelle)

Meanwhile, Stormfly and Sleuther arrived on the edge of town. Slowly, but surely, they made their way into town.

Stormfly originally planned on visiting the town alone, but Sleuther decided to join his 'sister'.

A little while after Sleuther was saved, he and Stormfly formed a brother/sister relationship. Hiccup didn't know if it was because they both had unique abilities regarding their tails, or because Stormfly produced the spines that Hiccup used to gain his trust. Most likely the former.

Anyway, the two dragons entered the town being careful of their surroundings as this was a new environment for the both of them. As they neared a corner, they saw a ball bounce past. When they went to see where the ball came from, something bumped into Stormfly's snout. Or rather, someone.

Recovering from the surprise, Stormfly looked down and saw a little girl who looked to be a few years younger than Hiccup. She was holding her head from the collision, somehow oblivious to the fact that she ran into a dragon.

A collective gasp was heard and Stormfly saw three more children, two boys and one girl, standing there in shock and fear.

The girl who collided with Stormfly looked back at her friends and was confused. She then looked at what she bumped into and her breathing ceased.

Standing before her was a blue dragon with spikes on its head and walked on two legs.

She was afraid the dragon would eat her. But instead, it looked to where the ball went, walked over, gently picked up the ball, walked back to the girl, and dropped the ball in her lap.

The girl was shocked, but stiffened again when the dragon leaned in closer and started to sniff her. Then, to her surprise, it backed up a couple feet.

Finally summoning up the courage, the girl got back on her own feet and slowly backed up towards her friends, who were still standing there in shock.

A sudden sneeze caught everyone's attention and they realized that the entire town had witnessed the whole thing and was now standing at their front doors, their jaws agape.

A small boy, thinking it would be alright, broke from his mothers arms and ran towards Sleuther.

Big mistake.

Sleuther noticed this and immediately went on the defensive. He spread his wings, aimed his coiled tail at the oncoming human, shook it like a rattlesnake, and roared.

The boy's excitement and wonder instantly turned into fear and regret. He tried to go back to his mother, only to stumble and fall.

He looked up to see the purple dragon advancing towards him, the townspeople panicking, and the boy's mother ran to him and attempted to shield him.

Before Sleuther could get any closer, a blast of fire hit the spot between him and the humans. The mother/son duo looked at the spot and suddenly, the blue dragon stepped in front of them and roared at Sleuther.

Sleuther roared back, challenging his sister, but Stormfly wasn't having any of it. She lifted her tail, erected her spines, and roared as loud as she could.

This seemed to do the trick, Sleuther backed down, whimpering.

Stormfly turned back towards the woman and her child, who immediately looked away. Stormfly could tell that they were afraid and tried to ease their fears.

While the mother and her son had their eyes closed, the mother felt something nuzzling her side. She looked up and saw the blue dragon nudging her. She honestly didn't know what to say.

Suddenly, another roar was heard and everyone looked up as a pitch black dragon descended with someone on its back. No one could tell who he was since his face was covered up.

The human got off the black dragon and whistled, signalling the other two over to him.

"What do you two think you're doing?" the young man asked in a firm tone. "You can't just waltz into town like you own the place. We're lucky that the king is allowing us to stay. But that doesn't mean everyone isn't afraid of dragons."

The crowd was stunned. The king allowed these dragons to stay? And the dragons followed this boy's orders? He couldn't be any older than 15.

He turned his attention to the mother and her child. "Are you alright?"

"Yes," the mother said as she stood back up with her son in her arms.

"I'm sorry if my friends scared you?" Hiccup said while scratching the back of his head.

"Your… friends?"

Hiccup nodded. "Allow me to introduce them. The blue one with the spikes is Stormfly, a Deadly Nadder."

Stormfly squawked a greeting and the boy and his mother cracked a smile, seeing as how this one saved them.

"The purple and yellow one here is Sleuther. He's known as the Triple Stryke."

Their smiles dropped as they looked at Sleuther, who just huffed. They recoiled slightly given what almost happened a few minutes ago.

"And what's that one called?" The boy asked, pointing at Toothless.

"This is a Night Fury. His name… Toothless."

Everyone couldn't help but giggle, not expecting a fearsome dragon to have such an abnormal name.

"Why is he named Toothless?" The boy asked.

Hiccup was about to respond when he saw Toothless approaching them.

"I think he wants to tell you himself."

The duo looked at Toothless, who gave them a gummy smile.

The two couldn't help but laugh. Soon, those who could get a good look.

Hearing the laughter, Toothless decided to have some fun of his own. He warbled, gaining everyone's attention.

He opened his mouth and suddenly, two rows of razor sharp teeth popped out, surprising everyone.

"Yeah, he has retractable teeth."

Everyone was awed by this. Deciding to test his luck, he asked a risky question.

"Would you like to touch him?"

Everyone was surprised by this offer. The boy and his mother stared at Hiccup in shock.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT." the boy's mother shouted. "Not after what that one almost did to my boy." She gestured to Sleuther.

Upon hearing what happened, Hiccup turned to Sleuther and gave him a stern glare before looking back at the duo.

"I apologize. Sleuther isn't exactly one to trust humans." He then explain Sleuther's life, how long he was captive, how he was treated, and how he was forced to fight other dragons. Everyone then felt a bit of sympathy towards the dragon.

Thankfully, we managed to gain his trust with this." He pulled out a noise maker (What they used in the episode where Astrid gained Sleuthers trust) and gave it to the boy. Then, he signalled for Sleuther to come over.

"Approach Sleuther slowly," he said to the boy, "and when he starts to growl, just swing this like a lasso."

The boy was hesitant as he slowly walked forward. Sleuther noticed this and growled. The kid trembled, but remembered what Hiccup told him. He raised the noise maker and spun it like a lasso.

To his, and everyone else's surprise, Sleuther stopped growling. His aggression changed to curiosity as he lifted his head and tilted it to the side while looking at the boy. As the boy got closer, Sleuther started to become agitated again, so the boy just spun the noise maker again. This time, Sleuther slowly advanced. He stopped just before the boy and started sniffing him.

He couldn't move. He wasn't sure if the dragon was going to eat him. Then, Hiccup walked up to them and gently grabbed the boy's hand.

"Now, close your eyes and stick your hand out like this." He stretched the boy's arm out with the palm of his hand in front of Sleuther.

The boy closed his eyes and a few seconds later, he felt something warm touching his hand. He opened his eyes and saw Sleuther nuzzling his snout against his hand.

"You just gained his trust."

Everyone was amazed that the seemingly vicious animal was actually a gentle creature.

Hiccup got up and looked at the crowd. "You see, dragons might seem vicious at first, but coexistence is possible between us and them. There's more to dragons than just black and white."

For the remainder of the day, Hiccup introduced all his dragons to everyone. The kids seemed to have taken a liking to Meatlug and Stormfly, as well as Barf and Belch. They especially adored Sharpshot and Toothless. As the day ended, the gang flew back to the house, knowing that they could rest easy knowing that there were those who would listen.

Unbeknownst to any of them, while the villagers were getting to know the dragons, up in the castle, there was a certain blonde princess who was watching the whole ordeal.

As she watched, one question ran through her mind.

Who is that boy?

Another chapter done.

I remember that noise maker back from when I was a kid. I didn't know what it was called so I looked it up. And it was surprisingly difficult.

Anyways, let me know what you thought of this chapter. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Next chapter, we start getting into the events of Frozen.

Until next time.
