CatDog their body drop 10 degrees in temperature, they're cold before, but now it was FREEZING.

"Listen-" Cat began with the fake confidence in his voice he always had when he got nervous, "-I'm sure we can all come to an agreement. You want something, I want something, we can help each other, what do you say?"

Nothing. A shudder ran through Cat's half of his body. Words won't save him this time.

The hallway was long and cold, a flickering lamp every couple of feet lit the space, lighting the white, tall walls with eerie illuminance, and the far distance turned into a deep black. It was impossible to tell how far it actually goes. The pathway was a straight line for the most part, doors lined the walls to both their left and right, they had numbers on them, the ink washed away by age and neglect. There were no windows.

Cat's eyes clung desperately to every door they passed, maybe one of them would lead to freedom? But which one? And how could they reach them?

Dog couldn't bear to look around him in fear of what he might see. He shut his eyes tightly. Though he hadn't been physically tortured yet, the ride to his and his brother's doom scared him so badly that he was already considering wanting to be a nightmare. Thinking about disappearing made him feel like he could avoid the pain that was to come.

"I'm… I-I'm so scared…" Dog managed to sniffle out.

Dog's choked words tore at Cat like a knife, "It's-It's gonna be okay Dog," he reassured his little brother as best as he could.

Suddenly one of the doors opened and the stretcher was dragged inside.

"H-Hey! I-I'm sure there is no need for this- Au-! W-We can talk about this!" Cat's breath hitched.

A frustrated lab worker lashed out at his helpless victims, "Shut up, will ya!"

Another lab worker grabbed the cloth and whipped it off the cart. On the cart was a tray containing various sharp medical tools and knives, carefully organized and wickedly sharp, as well as a large medical bag.

Dog felt single drops of sweat roll down his forehead and trail down the sides of his face, his breath stuck on hold in his throat and his chest squeezed around his heart.

"We-We can talk about this-!" Cat tried again, his voice shaking, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. His breath jumped in panic, he tugged at his restraints, and his eyes darted around the room in the search of anything to help him and his attached brother flee their prison.

"Look, can you just SHUT UP!" the first lab worker screamed with fury.

That shut up CatDog instantly as they stopped, frozen in shock, as their entire body started to tremble.

"There's really no point in reasoning with us, the testing has already begun," the worker declared, as he dragged a strange device from another corner of the room.

It appeared to be a what look like a empty dry fish tank, with a large hole in the middle. The conjoined brothers both stared in wonder and terror as the other workers begin to open the fish, dragged the stretcher the attached brothers were in unlock the straps that Cat was trapped, making him confused and squeezed Cat's side of the stretcher half into the tank with Dog still sticking out.

"What are you doing?!" Cat cried out, as his eyes flickered around in a panic, observing his surroundings as the suspense built.

"We're going to pour WATER all way to the top onto your tank to see if you can't breath if it affects your other half," the lab worker explained.

Fear surged through Cat, If there was one thing he was scared to death of, besides the Greasers, it was water. No, no, no, he didn't want to die! Not like this!

"What's wrong?" the lab worker mocked him with a coo: "Don't you want to take a dip in WATER?"

"Noo!" the half feline screamed in answer, his voice broken by the panic, and his breathing out of control. His heart was pounding inside of his chest, and he could feel tears filling the corners of his eyes.

Dog struggled to move, but braces around his chest and limbs glued him to the bed formed from a series of sturdy stretcher, "P-please…" he cried through gritty tears, "D-Don't…Don't h-hurt my-my-my best friend," he couldn't even imagine the amount of terror his brother must be in, since he knows he's deathly afraid of water.

"Sorry, I can't understand you through all of that whining," the worker said, as he grabbed another tank full of water and was hooking to the tank Cat was in.

CatDog continued to scream in protest but no neither of the twin could hinder the inevitable.

A huge amount of water started pouring into the empty tank, flooding it! Cat screamed, grasping the glass walls. The water was absolutely frigid! He was in absolute agony! The icy water was acting like needles penetrating deeply into the pores of his dry skin, he started to howl in pain. He could feel the icy water swishing up against his half torso, so cold that it felt like it was slowing the blood in his veins.

"P-please, please, no, no, no, don't let me drown, please…!" Cat was now sobbing for his life, warm tears rolling down his furry cheeks. He couldn't look at the water, but he didn't need to- he knew very well that the water was.

Dog's pupils glistened, feeling beyond horrified over the mere concept of the lab workers hurting and scaring his brother. Cat screaming was enough to get Dog to cry.

"Please leave Cat alone! Stop it! You're hurting him!" Dog squalled, "Please! You're hurting, scaring him, please stop it!"

One of the lab workers, unable to take the half canine's whining, bellowed, "WILL YOU SHUT UP YOU STUPID DOG!?"

Storming over to the cowering mutt, the lab worker lifted his hand up and backhanded Dog in the face with full force.

Cat, who was watching the whole time, gasped in utter shock while he covered his mouth with both paws.

Crying out in pain, the half canine fell over from the whiplash alone. The lab worker had hit him so hard, the inner part of his cheek scraped against his tooth, cutting open a part the inside of his mouth. The taste of iron coated his tongue as he sputtered up blood, accidentally getting some on the floor. The skin on his face stung to the point he couldn't help but immediately break down in tears from the throbbing ache.

"Dog!" Cat screamed in horror, as he let out a tormented cry.

"STOP CRYING!" the lab worker who hit Dog screamed.

Dog couldn't help it. He really, really tried to hold it in as instructed, but the tears wouldn't stop flowing against his will.

The lab worker sighed in frustration, "Can someone hand me a cloth to shut this thing up!?"

"Please let Ca-Mhmmph!?" Dog was cut off when one of the lab workers tied a cloth around his muzzle silencing him.

"MHHMMMM! MMMMHHHHMM! Dog tried to scream, but it all came out muffled.

The Lab worker who hit Dog let out a sigh of relief, "…Thank you."

Now in full panic mode, Dog struggled with all of his might to get loose from his bonds, but to no avail. Dog stared at Cat, his eyes filled with fear. His pleading expression only help the feline half feel helpless.

Cat closed his eyes tightly, allowing his tears to flow out. Feeling the water hitting him like shards of ice crystals taking his breath away. "Dog…" he sobbed, imagining how scared his brother must be right now.

"Dog!?" one of the lab workers laughed cruelly, "I'be worried about yourself if I were you."

Cat looked down and to his overwhelming dread and horror, the water was getting deeper now, cold biting at his chest. It hadn't taken long for the water to rise this high, "No, no, no-" He floated up to the ceiling hitting his head, eyes wide with fear as he shook his head violently, looking around frantically for a way out, anyway out. The hole? The ceiling?

Dog was internally panicking at this point, Cat was about to be submerged underwater, and there was NOTHING he could do about it. He continued to stare at his terrified older brother, his eyes filled with fear.

Cat looked around his tank prison in a panic, his teeth chattering with cold. He knew he may well die of hypothermia before drowning was even an option. He let out panicked whimpering noises, eyes fixated on the lab workers before him, pupils nearly pinpricks as fear and adrenaline coursed through his veins.

Cat looked at the lab workers with eyes full of fear, "Please, don't this!" he cried out, desperate to stay alive, "Please, please, please, don't let me drown, I'm begging you!" his voice shaking, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. His chest was heaving with heavy gasps.

Tears spilled down Dog's face feeling so helpless as he watched Cat thrashing about, struggling. He could hear Cat's heart wrenching screams.

The last of Cat's air was a tiny space. The poor feline half choked, coughing, and sputtering. His paws hit the ceiling, screaming from the frigid pain, his face contorted in terror as he realized he was almost completely submerged he felt sick to his and his brother shared stomach, the beat of his own heart pounding within his head.

Tears streamed down his face as they were quickly washed away by the water. He managed to take one last breath before he was completely engulfed in water.

Fear-stricken, Cat thrashed around aimlessly searching for any remaining oxygen, his heart gripped by panic, terror scorched through him. He was going to drown in his tank prison.

Cat reached out his paws towards his brother pressing them against the wall, his eyes wide and pleading for help.

Dog felt helpless as he looked at Cat's contoured, scared expression. He tried to scream to let the lab workers to get his brother out tried through the gag but only came out as inaudible muffling. Dog couldn't take his eyes away, he felt his heart break into a thousand little pieces. He cried, it was too much to bear.

Dog wrestled with his restraints in a frenzy, all he could think about was getting his brother out of there. He'd save him, he'd…do something. Only for him to be interrupted from his thoughts as he let out a gasp, and felt his airways getting cut.

His eyes widened, too shocked to really process what was going on.

Cat looked at his brother horrified, his lungs screamed for air. Cat barley noticed, his eyes did not move of what he was seeing. Cat didn't know how it was possible to be even more horrified than before. Dog…?

Dog was gasping for air in vain, his heart was pounding in his chest…what was happening to him!?

Dog looked at his brother with desperation. He spluttered and gagged, a feeling of terror growing inside him. New tears rolled down his cheeks, his vision was already getting blurrier and blurrier.

Cat started to slammed his head against the tank glass hoping it would crack, but it remained firm.

Dog's head move back, his eyes rolling back as he gasped for air, air that he couldn't get. He was dying! He was dying! He was dying! And it hurt, it hurt very much! Why was this happening?

Cat then noticed his lungs were starting to burn. He felt himself slowly succumbing to no oxygen. It hurt! How it hurt! He struggled to breathe but choked on more water.

White stars danced in front of his vision, he started to lose consciousness, his lungs were running out of oxygen. Right when his lungs were burning and started to convulse, he suddenly felt his body being pulled out of through the hole of the tank.

Cat gulped in air, filling his aching lungs again and again. He never thought that air could be this good!

The feline half gasped, and his half of the body move on it's own. Using every strength he had left, the older brother quickly crawled closer to his younger conjoined twin. He had to be alive, he had to be!

As he got closer, he noticed that Dog was breathing welcoming the inflow air in his lungs and the lab workers thankfully took the cloth off of Dog's mouth. It was the most beautiful sound in the world.

Slowly, Cat put his hand over the half canine's shoulder, trying to comfort him, "D-Dog are you..how do you feel?"

Dog was grateful for the oxygen he had been denied and that Cat was no longer in that horrible tank, but he begin to sob softly, "C-C-Cat, that was…so…scary…I thought I was going to die!" he exclaimed breathlessly through his tears.

Dog's fearful voice made Cat's half of his stomach twist, the fact that Dog almost died from whatever reason made him feel utterly terrible.

Before Cat could collect more of his thoughts, he was suddenly forced back down onto the stretcher. He was then quickly strapped down, "Hey! Let me go!"

"I'm sorry my good sir, but we must move onto the next test," one of the lab workers said in a mockingly pleasant tone as he took a hold of a mouth opener.

Then one of the workers added, "Our next test is that the dog half would have two of his teeth rip out of his gums to see if it affects the other's teeth."

Dog's blood grew cold at the sight of mouth opener, he turned to the restraints on his right paw and pulled as hard as he could trying to get it free. "No! Don't pull my teeth!" he cried desperately.

Dog looked back at his older conjoined brother with his face twisted with so much fear that it made Cat's heart BREAK. Dog looked like he wanted to crawl over to him, yearning for his brother's protective aura he needed so desperately, but he in tight restraints like Cat was.

"Stay away from MY brother!" Cat yelled.

One of the lab workers disregarded Cat's outcries and grab hold of the mouth opener.

Dog's heart rate spiked as panic began to set in. He struggled against the restraints but still couldn't get any closer to freedom.

The lab worker pulled open Dog's mouth and jammed the dental gag inside. With each click, the gag slowly pushed his mouth open wider and the lab worker's smile grew larger.

Dog was openly sobbing as he plead through the gag, but the lab worker ignored him completely as hot tears ran down his face. He slowly started to hyperventilate, the sheer horror of his reality further sinking in.

"Stop!" Cat yelled, "Stop it! Leave him alone! Ripped my teeth instead!" He watched his brother shaking with panic and want to ease his pain.

"Sorry, but that's not how the testing works I'm afraid and you have your turn it's your other side's turn," the lab worker retorted, the one who was going to take Dog's teeth out.

The lab worker gripped a scalpel in the cleft of his paw and walked over Dog.

The half canine was in absolute panic mode, with an expression of both defeat and terror. He couldn't even muster a word to say.

His eyes had a sparkle that screamed, 'Please, help me!'

Cat reached out for the poor half canine, "Stay strong, Dog… you'll be okay…" he reassured him, even though there was no chance he WOULDbe okay after this.

Dog let out a sniffle then nodded, but doing so made the anticipation feel worse.

"This would hurt a lot, so feel free to scream," the lab worker giggled.

Dog's chest expanded rapidly in panicked breaths, he squeezed his eyes shut in preparation for wherever he was about to receive pain.

Without any flair, the lab worker placed the blade an inch above Dog's one of the two front teeth and began a circular cut around it and pulled the tooth out. Dog shouted in pain and tried desperately to pull away, but the braces held him still. His mouth was quickly filled with blood.

His cheeks were bright red as sweat and tears poured down his face. He had thought choking was excruciating, but this was on a whole new level of agony. A deep, sharp and intense ache lingered on his left gum stabbed into his nerves. Somehow he hadn't passed out, although he wished he had to avoid this sensation.

The only thing out-sounding Dog's pained cries were Cat's screams, "STOP IT!" he screamed, "Please! You're hurting him!"

The lab worker ignored the pleading older cat brother and continued to other side and repeated the process on Dog's left tooth.

Dog just whimpered. His gums burned like nothing he had felt before.

By now Cat was in tears, hatred bubbled inside of him of the sight seeing the lab workers torturing his brother.

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF HIM!" Cat roared at a volume that would leave his throat sore.

Instead of answering the lab worker's question, he wrote down notes on his clipboard, "Now for the third and final test today."

Cat didn't listen to his surprise and relief, Dog was still breathing. Cat felt his eyes moist and seeing Dog being in pain and misery made his heart shattered in a million pieces.

No thoughts were coming to Dog's mind aside from longing for the pain to stop. It was just too much for one person to bear, and the fact that he was strapped down in place wasn't doing him any favors.

The leader of the testing turned his attention to a tray of wires. As the adrenalin filled their veins, CatDog began to panic again. Picking up the wires, the lab worker walked over to CatDog's left. Holding some wires, the lab worker carefully picked up the wires and positioned it at the seam between his victim's paws and legs.

"Wh-What's happening now?" Cat whimpered.

"We're going to electric you both of course," the worker answered.

"Wait, WHAT?!" As if CatDog weren't already completely panicked, they both started to become desperate to get away, aggressively squirming against their restraints.

The Lab worker went back to his cart and located an enormous battery and controller, which he dragged over to where he was working.

"NO!" Cat could feel his wrists start to ache from pulling so hard. There was no chance he was going to escape, but the adrenaline within him wouldn't allow him to calm down.

"Are we going to die!?" Dog panicked, looking up at the lab worker with pleading eyes.

"Hard to say, really. Only time will tell," the lab worker said,

Without any further warning, he pulled the switch of the machine.

Before either of the brothers could speak, a shock rippled through them. The electricity was too much, so intense that even the slightest shift felt like a knife, draining them of their strength as it forced them to convulse. CatDog could do nothing but scream. They didn't know how long it had been, just that it hurt.

After about five minutes, the lab worker shut off the power. Soon CatDog felt their vision going black and Dog was out cold by the time he hit the pillow of the stretcher. The last thing Cat saw some of the lab workers rolling their stretcher and limb body away into another room.

And then… He lost consciousness.

I told you this story was going to be dark. I feel bad for CatDog when I wrote this chapter, but sometimes you can't have a good story without scary obstacles on the way. Well that's all for now this is Vakarns signing off..
