Jacob's P.O.V

I went to Sam's place for our weekly meetings. Since the Volturi came and declared peace with the Cullen's, La Push has been peaceful. Of course, that doesn't mean we let our guards down. From what we know about vampires, they don't let a grudge go.

I went inside Sam's house where everyone was already crowded around.

"Hey Jake! You made it on time!" Seth said happily.

"I'm always on time," I responded.

"Not since you imprinted," Embry joked.

"Yeah yeah, well I'll be early now. The Cullen's left yesterday," I informed them.

"You okay Jacob?" Sam asked concerned.

"Not really. I feel this emptiness inside and I just feel so lost," I admitted.

"It's hard Jake, but you'll learn how to deal with those sensations. It does get easier," Quil said.

"I know it's not the same, but when they first took Emily away for a family trip for three weeks, I thought I was going to die. I literally could not breathe because I thought something was going to happen to her. Then after a while, the intensity softened and I was able to wait for her return without losing my shit," Quil continued.

"I hope that's the case man. At least Emily left for 3 weeks. I don't know when they will ever come back," I sighed.

"You'll get through this. Renesmee will be back sooner than you think. You guys have forever anyways," Sam said while patting my shoulder.

"Yeah, you're right. So let's get this meeting started," I said while lifting up my head.

Amelia's P.O.V

I got out of school at 11pm and I was extremely exhausted. First of all, I was bombarded with brand new information that made my head swirl. Second of all, I wasn't used to be awaking for such long period of time.

"I need coffee," I groaned as I got into my car.

Nothing was opened at that time in Forks. I turned on my car and drove home. It was tough keeping my eyes awake but I had finally parked in front of the house.

"Finally," I sighed and rested my forehead on my staring wheel.

It was so nice and quiet that I ended up dozing off.

"Hey! Wake up!" I voice shouted. I let out a shrill.

"Oh shit! You fucking scared me!" I said while putting my hand on my chest. My heart was beating hard. I opened the car door.

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to make sure you got home safe. I knocked on your door and you didn't answer and when I went searching you, I found you asleep in the car," Jacob said.

"Yeah, I dozed off..." I said. I grabbed my book bag from the car and jumped out.

"Thank you for checking up on me," I said.

Jacob grabbed my book bag.

"Here, let me help you. You must be exhausted," he said.

I didn't complain. He followed me to the side of the house. I opened the door.

"I'll give you a tour next time. I just really need to sleep," I said.

"Yeah, sure," Jacob handed me my book bag. I waved goodbye to him.

I set my book bag down on the couch. I stripped out of my scrubs and threw myself in bed. I didn't have any energy left.

The rest of week ran pretty similar. I was going to school Tuesday's and Thursday's. Jacob waited for me on Thursday night as well. I appreciated him making sure I got home safe.

Today was already Friday and I was getting ready to go home from Billy's house.

"So do you have any plans this weekend?" Jacob asked.

"Well, I have clinicals this weekend," I answered.

"What's that?" He asked.

"It's when I go to the hospital and learn what to do."

"Oh, do you get paid?" He asked.

"Nope, it's free labor," I joked.

"You like never have any free time huh," he said.

"Not really. Between working here, school, clinicals, and studying, I'm particularly busy. Why do you ask?"

"You said you were going to give me a tour of your place," he reminded me.

"I diiiiid. Well, if you want then you can pass by today. Sunday is also a good day," I suggested.

"Well, Sunday we're having a bonfire here at the beach. I was going to invite you, if you're down," he said.

"Hmm, bonfire... that's at night then?" I asked.

"Yeah, we usually start at around 6pm. My dad usually goes over legends that we tell our people and we cook food. It's pretty cool actually. You can meet some of my friends so you're not a loner," he joked.

"Ouch, that hurts. I'm a loner? I just got here," I said.

"And I'm your only friend," He retorted.

"Yeah, you're right. That is sad," I said

Jacob did an exaggerated shocked face.

"Okay, so you coming or what?" I asked as I walked out the house.

"Yeah!" He said while following me out.

Jacob's P.O.V

I got on my bike and followed Lia to her house. She opened the door and welcomed me.

"Welcome to my humble abode," she said while walking over to her couch.

"This is my futon. It has been with me through thick and thin. Please treat her with respect," She said.

Then she walked over to an area that was a make shift kitchen. It only had a fridge, a microwave, and a small plug in stove.

"This is where I make the finest meals," she said. Then she walked over to the bathroom.

"You know what this is," she said.

She then walked over to a place that was a desk and chair.

"This is where the studying happens," and finally she walked to a door and opened it up.

"This must be my favorite part about living here. The closet is huge," she said.

She lived in a tiny shoebox.

"This is cute," I replied. She snorted.

"Don't judge. It's all I can afford and I'm quite comfortable here," she said.

"I'm not judging. I really do like the place," I said.

She walked to her kitchen and pulled out a beer from the fridge.

"I would offer you one, but I know you're underaged," she joked.

"I didn't know you drink," I said. She didn't seem like the type of person to keep beers in her fridge. I sensed that there was more to this then it seemed. I didn't know why I was able to sense this feeling. Maybe because I'm starting to care for her? I shook the thoughts from my head.

"Haha, I do drink," I lied.

I've actually never been into drinking. When I was about to get to that teenage part of my life, I turned into a wolf and then my main concern was to protect the reserve and Bella.

"Do you want one?" She questioned.

"Sure," I said.

She went to the fridge and pulled out another one for me.

"I hope you like white claws, cause that's all I have. I had to drive far to find these so I bought a shitload of them," she said.

I had a gnawing sensation in my stomach that something wasn't right with her. I ignored it and accepted the drink.

"Yeah, my fave," I lied.

"Don't tell anyone, I can get arrested for giving alcohol to a minor," she joked.

"Ha-Ha very funny," I said while drinking the alcohol. It didn't taste bad, but I knew it wasn't going to get me drunk. My metabolism was extremely fast and alcohol doesn't phase me. I know cause Paul has tried.

She made her way to the couch and sat down.

"It's only been a week and I'm exhausted. Now I have to do 12 hours at the hospital," She said.

"Which hospital?" I asked.

"I'll be at the Forks Community Hospital," she said.

"Good, you're nearby," I said. I said that without thinking. I looked over to Lia, but my statement didn't provoke a reaction. She was chugging her drink.

"Can you pass me another one?" She said.

"Wow, you're already done with it?"

"Yeah, I guess I just want to pass out," She admitted.

"Okay, but how about you just go to sleep. You don't want to get a hangover right?" I said trying my best for her not to drink anymore.

"Ahh, you're right. I gotta wake up early tomorrow anyways. I got to be there by 7Am," She said.

"Exactly."

"Okay, you chug your drink. I can't have you walking out of here with it," she said. I nodded my head and drank the rest of it.

"Are you okay to drive your bike though?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," I told her.

"Hmm, alright. I'll see you Sunday then," She said while walking me to the door.

I walked out and waited for her to lock her door. I drove my bike home and shifted once I got to the reserve. I had to run patrols that night, so I was able to make sure that she went to bed safely.

Amelia's P.O.V

I finished my 12 hour shift at the hospital and I felt my legs wobbly.

"What the hell? I am out of shape," I said as I wobbled to my car.

I pulled myself into my truck and went home. Good thing was that I was only 10 minutes away from the hospital.

I made it home and had to literally throw myself out of my truck. My legs felt like a ton a brick. My feet were in pain, I guess I wore the wrong shoes.

My cellphone rang as I walked to my home.

"Hello?"

"Hey, It's Jake."

"What's up?" I asked.

"I just wanted to see how your first day went," he said.

"Hah, it was interesting. I mean just learned basic things like how to check blood sugars and stuff like that. My legs are killing me though and I wore the wrong shoes so I'm pretty sure my feet are swollen," I said as I plopped on my bed.

"I'll be over," he said.

"No, for what?" I asked.

"So I can help you," he said.

"No bro. I'll be fine," I responded.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"I'm positive. I'll see you tomorrow anyways. I'm just going to study for a while and go to bed," I said.

"Alright then, I'll see you tomorrow," he said.

I hung up on him and dragged myself to the house. Once in there, I pried the shoes off my feet.

I gave out a sigh of relief. I walked over to my couch and massaged my feet. I secretly wanted Jacob to show up even though I told him no. I enjoyed his company but I wanted to keep a safe distance from him. I know he's in love with Bella, and I didn't want to be caught in the middle.

I kept rubbing my feet for a while until I was finally comfortable enough to take a shower and head to bed.
