Hey! Thank you for the reviews! I really enjoy doing both their P.O.V's. I feel like it really ties well into the story when you know what's going on in both of their heads. Please leave a review! Thank you!
Jacob's P.O.V
Jacob, who is this Lia person you keep worrying about? Quil asked telepathically.
We were both patrolling the reserve at night. He had the North and East side and I had the South and West side. Since we're both in wolf form, he was able to see everything that was going through my mind.
Sorry, she's new to this area. She worked 12 hours today and I was worried that she over exhausted herself, I responded.
Well, of course she is tired. That's a lot of hours for a normal human. Is this also the same girl who was helping Billy out at home? He asked.
I didn't really tell the guys about her. I was planning on introducing her properly on Sunday.
Yea, she might be stretching herself thin. She's also in nursing school. I'm bringing her on Sunday so you guys can meet her, I said.
That's great! She's cute. Maybe someone will imprint on her, he said excitedly.
A growl almost came out of my mouth. He was right though. Maybe someone would imprint on her. Would that be the worst thing to happen? At least she would have someone care for her unconditionally. It was selfish of me, but the thought of someone imprinting on her made me not want to bring her anymore though. I felt protective of her.
During my rounds, I sneaked away to check on her. I wanted to make sure she was fine. I peaked my head through a window that she had in her living room. I watched her read her book, massage her feet, and eat something that looked like noodle. I could feel her loneliness. I wanted to phase back and knock on her door. I wanted to hold her in my arms and reassure her that she wasn't alone, but I didn't.
Lia got up from her chair and walked over to the window. I quickly went into the forest. I watched her as she looked out the window. Did she sense me? She shook her head and went back to her table. I went back to the reserve.
Amelia's P.O.V
After spending Sunday morning studying, I was ready to cut loose. I was actually pretty excited to get to meet new people, especially people my age. A bonfire by the beach sounded cool.
Jacob wanted to pick me up, but I told him I could find the beach. I liked driving my truck. I grabbed my coat by the door and headed outside.
Charlie was outside the house washing his car. I waved at him as I walked towards my truck.
"Hey Amelia, I hope you're settling down well," he said.
"Yes I am. I'm actually on my way to a bonfire down at La Push. Jacob invited me to meet some people," I said.
"Jacob invited you?" He questioned while raising his eyebrow.
"Yeah... Why? Should I be worried?" I asked.
"No no, he's a good kid. He's just been anti social since Bella married Edward and I knew he was very upset about them moving away," he said.
"Oh yeah, no he's definitely still not over it," I said.
I wasn't lying. They've been gone for a couple of weeks and he tries calling Bella once a week. She never answered any of his phone calls. He would get upset, leave, and then return calm.
"Poor kid, hopefully he will be able to move on. You go on and have fun. You'll like the La Push kids," he told me.
I nodded my head and got in my car and headed out.
I was able to find the beach following the signs they had. When I got to the Parking lot, Jacob was waiting on the wooden gate. He wore nothing but a khaki short and black tank top. I parked and got out of the car.
"Hey, you made it," he smiled.
"Yeah. Of course. Aren't you cold?" I asked.
"Nah. Come with me, let me introduce you to my friends," he said.
I followed Jacob onto the beach. The beach was full of people. All the men had the same muscular body type and complexion. I was really wondering if the water in La Push contained steroids.
"How are all of you so muscular? Are you in some sort of like gym cult?" I asked Jacob.
Jacob laughed.
"It's the genetics," He bragged.
"BS," I muttered.
Jacob led me to two boys that were sitting by a log. One of the boys was playing with a little girl.
"Lia, meet my best friends. This is Embry and Quil," he said pointing at each.
"And this is Emily," The boy nailed Quil said.
"Nice to meet you Emily, I'm Amelia," I said while kneeling down.
"Hiiii," She said shyly.
"Nice to meet you guys too by the way," I said turning my head towards them.
The boy named Embry stared into my eyes and then shook his head. Jacob gave out a sigh of relief. I was completely confused on this interaction.
"Jacob has told us a lot about you. You're in nursing school?" Quil said quickly, trying to break the awkwardness.
"Yeah I am, it's like nursing Boot Camp really," I said while getting up.
"That's really cool though. We don't have many people that go into the medical field here," he said.
"Yeah, I can tell cause my class is so small," I replied.
"Oh, I know you!" A voice said. I turned around to see Seth walking with a woman.
"I met you at Billy's house," he said happily.
"Hi Seth, it's nice to see you again," I said.
"This is my sister Leah," he said introducing the woman. She looked at me from head to toe and rolled her eyes.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Amelia. People call me Lia too," I said trying to be nice.
"Likewise," she said and walked away.
Seth frowned.
"Don't mind her. She's having a bad day," he said and ran towards her.
"Really, don't mind her. That really is her usual self," Jacob said.
"Let me introduce you to Sam and Emily," Jacob said while hauling me away.
"Okay, I'll see you guys around," I said while waving at Jacob's friend.
Jacob led me to where a couple was laying on the sand cuddling.
"Hey hey, no lovey dovey allowed," Jacob joked.
The woman looked up at me. She had a huge scar on the right side of her face. I made sure not to react.
"You must be Amelia," she smiled. Her smile was like a ray of sunshine.
"Yes, I am," I said blushing.
"I am Emily and this is my fiancé Sam," she said introducing the man.
"Nice to meet you," I said.
"Nice to meet you too. We appreciate you taking care of Billy and it is to my understanding that you've been putting up with Jacob as well. We'll have to pay you extra for that," he joked.
"Hah, that's an understatement," I joked.
"Please make yourself comfortable, and if you need anything, you can look for me," Emily said.
"I appreciate it," I said while blushing again.
"Come on, let's go," Jacob said while pulling me away again.
He took me around and kept introducing me to more people that were invited to the bonfire. I was getting exhausted from smiling and saying it was nice to meet them.
"Okay, last two. I left these idiots for last," Jacob said.
"Who you calling an idiot?" one of the men said. He was holding a woman between his legs.
"You don't think I'm an idiot, right?" He asked the woman while pouting. Her face turned red like a tomato.
"O-of course not," she stuttered. The man's face lit up and he kissed her on the cheek.
"Gross," the other man fake hurled.
"This is Paul," Jacob said pointing at the man that fake hurled.
"That's Jared with his girlfriend Kim," Jacob said pointing at the couple.
"Well hello, nice to meet you," Paul said while grabbing my hand to shake it.
"Nice to meet you too," I said while shaking his hand back.
"No one told me you were this beautiful," he said.
"Well, I'm glad you think so," I said flirting back.
"Come on Paul," Jacob said.
"Hey, you've imprinted. Let me have my fun," he said.
Imprinted? What does that mean?
Jacob's ears started to get red.
"Hey, calm down," I said while touching Jacob's bare shoulder.
I felt soft electricity flow through me. I quickly retracted my hand from his shoulders. What the hell was going on with me?
Jacob's ear wasn't red anymore.
"Do you want a beer?" Paul asked.
"Would I?" I said. I'm pretty sure my face lit up with joy.
Paul reached into a cooler and took out a beer. He opened it and gave it to me.
"Alright, now it's a party," I said while drinking my beer.
"See, I like her better then that Cullen girl," Paul said.
"What Cullen girl?" Jacob asked furiously.
"You know which one I'm talking about," Paul said nonchalant as he drank his beer too.
"Bella or Renesmee?" Jacob said while gritting his teeth.
"Use your imagination," Paul smirked.
Jacob started shaking and then he stalk away.
"That wasn't very nice," I told Paul.
"Well, he's not nice to me. Plus those Cullen's are nothing but trouble," he said.
"Trouble? They seemed pretty nice to me," I said while chugging the rest of my beer.
Paul opened another beer for me and stood up from the sand.
"You're going to find out anyways, so I might as well tell you. There was a whole drama with Bella and her husband and Jacob. Bella got dumped, used Jacob as a rebound, and then boyfriend showed up again and she dumped Jacob. Then she gets preg- I mean she adopts a child and Jacob feels some sort of duty to protect the child," Paul explained.
"Wow, you really went through the main points of the drama," I said.
Honestly, it still didn't make total sense. Why would he feel some duty to protect a child that is adopted and adopted by Bella? Either he is still in love with Bella and is doing it to be near her or the child is really Jacob's child, which I seriously doubt that but you never know now a days.
Billy showed up and started calling for everyone to gather by the fire.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"Billy is going to start telling folklore about our reserve," Kim explained.
I followed everyone's lead toward the bonfire. Paul sat to my left and I left a space on my right just in case Jacob returned.
Billy thanked everyone for coming today and talked about how the reserve had a strong family bond. He spoke about how important it was to keep the heritage alive and to remember their ancestors.
Then he started talking about a man who turned into basically a wolf to protect the village from what I suppose were vampires.
"Pretty cool right," Paul whispered at me while handing me another beer.
"Yeah, I feel like everyone has a vampire vs wolves story," I said.
"Who do you thinks would win? Wolves or vampires?" Paul asked.
"Fucking Wolves bro," I answered. We both toasted to that and continued to listen to Billy.
Eventually Jacob returned and sat next to me. He finally returned towards the end of the story where the village was safe and how the the children inherited the gift of shape shifting.
"Can you shape shift?" I snorted at Jacob at the end of story.
"What?" He asked confused and then looked down at all the bottles at my feet.
"How much did you have to drink?" He asked.
"Like 3 beers. I'm pretty sure Paul is trying to get me drunk but he doesn't know I have a high alcohol tolerance," I said.
"Oh trust me, his is higher. No more drinking," Jacob said.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me up.
"Let's go take a walk and sober you up," he said while glaring at Paul.
Paul smirked while drinking his beer.
"Okaaaay," I said while following him to the shore.
Both Jacob and I were silent for a while. Jacob held onto my shoulders as I walked and I could feel the soft feeling of electricity running through me.
"I'm sorry Paul was being a jerk to you. He told me what happened between you and Bella. It's not my business so don't worry about it. I keep my nose down," I said quickly. I guess I was getting intoxicated because I felt myself slur those words.
"I figured he would say something. It's not what you think... It's more complicated," Jacob said.
"Nah nah, I believe you. You don't got to explain it to me," I said. I wasn't ready to listen to the full story either way.
We walked pretty far from the beach.
"Can we take a rest?" I asked. My feet were starting to feel heavy. I guess since I didn't eat anything since morning, the beer went right through me.
"Sure," he said.
I plopped myself on the sand and Jacob sat next to me.
"It's beautiful here," I said while closing my eyes and feeling the wind in my face. The sounds of the waves crashing was so relaxing.
"Yeah. I love this place," he agreed.
"I'm getting a little sleepy," I admitted.
"Well... you can fall asleep on me," Jacob suggested.
Before I could even think about it, I blurted out, "but I'm scared of the electricity."
"Electricity?" Jacob asked nervously.
"No, never mind... I didn't say anything," I said embarrassed.
"Here, just lay your head on my lap. Relax," he said.
I looked at him nervously, but agreed. I got comfortable and laid my head on his lap. The electricity started to feel like a soothing buzz. I instantly fell asleep.
Jacob's P.O.V
I watched Lia's breathing slow as she fell into a deep sleep. As I watched her, I had a desire to caress her hair but I didn't dare touch her. She has felt the same electricity as I did. What did that even mean? I imprinted on Renesmee. I've never felt this type of static when I was with her though. I can feel my imprint intact though. I could feel the pull of the imprint yearning to be by Renesmee side. When I look at Lia, it's not the same. I feel protective of her and I feel comfortable around her. I like being around her because she calms me down. I didn't want her to get the wrong idea and thinking I might like her. I had to be careful and draw lines when I'm around her.
After about 30 minutes, she woke up.
"Wow, Power Nap! I am so sorry. Hopefully I didn't drool on you, I tend to do that," she said.
I couldn't help but to laugh. The right side of her cheek was red.
"You good. You want to go home?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm pooped out," she admitted.
"Come on, I'll take you home," I said.
