I'm writing these chapters pretty quickly. Please enjoy this next chapter and remember to leave a review! Thank you!

After that day at the beach, Jacob's attitude changed.

Jacob stopped acting like an emo girl regarding Bella and started back up his garage shop. He was once again in the garage repairing everything that was sent his way.

I was doing well in class and made a couple of friends.

Seth, Quil, and Embry passed by often to chat and entertain Jacob as he worked. Paul and I hung out quite often as well. Jacob didn't like that we were buddy buddy, but he couldn't stop us.

It was already the end of my first semester and I was nervous about my final.

"Stop thinking about, you'll do great," Jacob said catching me zone out.

"Oh sorry, yeah I guess. It's my first final so I'm nervous on what to expect, you know?" I said.

"You've been studying hard. You'll ace it," Billy said.

"Hmm thanks. I'm going to get going. I want to arrive earlier to calm my mind," I said.

"You go ahead," Billy said.

I grabbed my book bag and left the house.

"Hey wait," Jacob said behind me.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Will you be coming home around the same time?" He asked.

Jacob has been waiting up for me every time I had class. I told him it wasn't necessary, but he said he felt better if he did.

"Oh, umm I think we can go home after the test so you don't have to wait up for me. I should be getting home early," I said.

"You sure?" He asked unsure.

"Yeah, don't worry about it," I said going into my truck.

As expected, we were able to leave right after the test. The scores were not shown until everyone was done and the professor reviewed the test. They said it would take another hour or two until the final results were posted.

"Hey, we're going to the bar while we wait for the results, you wanna join us?" One of the girls in my class named Sarah asked.

"Yeah for sure!" I said excitedly.

Jacob's P.O.V

Even though she said I didn't have to wait for her, something in me didn't allow me to accept that. As I patrolled, I kept a nose out for her scent to make sure she got home. The time passed and she wasn't home yet. She usually got home 11:30pm the latest. It was almost 12am.

I started to get nervous. What if something happened to her?

I deviated from my usual route and made my way towards the school. Her truck was parked but the school was empty. Could she have gotten kidnapped?

A car pulled over into the parking lot. I hid immediately behind the building. I watch Amelia get out of the car. She reeked of alcohol.

"Yes!! We rock!!" She yelled. The people in the car cheered with her.

"You'll be able to get home safe?" The driver said.

"Yeah, I'll be fine," she slurred.

"Alright. Enjoy your break! See you next semester!" The driver said and drove off.

Amelia stumbled over to her car and pulled out her keys. Was she really going to drive in those conditions? I wanted to phase back into a human but I had no clothes near this area. I growled. What was she thinking?

She got into her car but she didn't turn on the car. I waited for a while, but she never pulled out. I slowly made my way towards her car and peaked through the window. She had put the seat down and went to sleep. I shook my head. I was glad she was responsible enough not to drive home. I quickly went to where I hid the closest set of clothes. I returned to the university, phased back, and changed. I went towards Lia's truck and knocked on the window.

She woke up startled.

"Oh shit," she said grabbing her head.

"Come on you drunk. Open the door. I'll take you home," I said.

She unlocked the car and flipped herself over to the passenger side.

"I'm not drunk, just sleepy," she grumbled.

"Hmm Sure, that's what they all say," I said as I got into the truck and drove her home.

"You and I are going to have a discussion about this drinking of yours," I said.

"I was just having a little fun. I got a perfect score, I had to celebrate," She grumbled again.

"Well congrats but if I wasn't here, you would have stayed asleep in your car," I told her.

"I would have drove home once I sobered up," she mumbled.

"Not the point," I scolded.

We got to her house and she dragged herself out of the car.

"Thanks okay?" She said frustrated. She struggled to make it to her front door. I got frustrated seeing her and got out of the car to help. I didn't understand why she drank so much. I quickly picked her up in my arms.

"I c-can do it," she stuttered.

"I know you can, but you're taking too long," I said while making my way to her front door. She took out the key from her pocket and gave it to me. I opened the door and brought her inside.

I laid her on her futon. She immediately turned her head to fall asleep.

"Hey? You're not even going to change?" I asked.

She shook her head no.

"Can you please give me a blanket and take off my shoes?" She whispered.

I instantly went to her closet and brought out a blanket. I took off her shoes and put it near the front door.

"Thank you," she murmured.

"No problem. Get some rest," I said.

The next day, She came in early as usual and began preparing breakfast. Her face was pale though.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeaupp, never better," she said.

"You don't look too good," I egged on.

She stared at me angrily.

"Okay! I'm hung over! Is that what you wanted to hear?" She said.

"Yeaupp," I smirked.

I watched as she cooked eggs on the stove. Her breathing slowed down. I could tell she was trying her best not to smell the eggs since she was nauseous.

"So what now with school?" I asked trying to distract her.

"I have a whole week of nothingness. I'm going to cherish it," she said.

"Well, you're in luck. Charlie and I are actually going to stay a couple days at a cabin by the lake. You can really have yourself a mini vacation," My dad said.

"Oh, well that's great news for both of us," she said.

"Yeah, so enjoy being a kid for a while," My dad said. Dad looked at me and gave me a wink. I was completely confused on what he meant by that.

"Hah, being a kid," she frowned. "I haven't been a kid since mom died," she said.

My heart felt heavy. I could sense the sadness in her words. Then I realized, I didn't really know what happened to her mother. We never spoke about her.

"Well we can do plenty of things. Have you been camping?" I asked.

She nodded her head. "That's what mom liked the most about here," she said.

"Then it's settled. Jacob will arrange it and you guys can camp this weekend," my dad said.

Amelia's P.O.V

I haven't been camping since mom died and it made me a little nervous, but I used to love the wilderness. There was nothing more relaxing then hanging by the fire in the mountains with fresh air. Jacob said he was going to invite his friends too.

"So Quil, Embry, and Seth are coming along," Jacob told me as he helped me out of the car. He grabbed my bag and threw it over his shoulder.

"Aww, what about Paul?" I asked.

"He has other matters to attend too," Jacob answered.

"Ahh, Okay. That's fine then," I said.

"Do you have a crush on him or something?" Jacob asked out of the blue.

"I mean... he is pretty handsome but no crush. He's just easy to talk too," I said.

"Wow, you find him handsome? Well I am handsome myself and I think I am pretty easy to talk too as well," Jacob said clearly jealous.

"Jacob Black, are you jealous of Paul?" I laughed. His face became red.

"It's okay. You'll always be my first friend," I joked. Jacob bit his lip.

"Come on, we're almost at the camping site," Jacob said walking faster.

I followed him until we got to small camping site where our tents were already set up. The boys were working together to build a fire.

"Took you guys long enough," Embry said.

"We were waiting for you guys to do all the work. If you ask me, we came right on time," I smirked.

"Haha very funny. Make yourself useful and at least put on some music or something," Quil said.

Jacob went with his friends to assist with the bonfire building. I sat on a lawn chair and turned on an old radio that they brought. I put it on the best station that was able to be heard in the middle of nowhere. It wasn't great but It was something.

These guys were experts at starting a campfire because soon we had a lively fire to keep us warm, even though I was the only one with a thick sweater. Quil, Embry, Jacob, and Seth were all in thin garments.

"Are you guys not cold? Is this part of your genes?" I joked. Their face became serious.

"You're such a kidster," Jacob laughed awkwardly.

I stood up and brought my chair closer to the fire.

"Anyone wants to play Uno?" I said while ignoring the weird looks and taking the pack of cards out of my bag.

The mood instantly changed and the boys gathered themselves around to play. After a couple of rounds, we decided to make s'mores by the fire.

"I have a good scary story," Embry said.

"What could possibly scare us?" Quil snorted.

"I want to here this story," I said interested.

"You sure, it might scare your socks off," Embry smirked. I rolled my eyes.

"Puh-lease, just go on with the story," I said.

"Have you heard about... the wolf girl," he said.

We shook our heads no.

"It is said that there was a girl who used to live here in La Push who was able to turn into a wolf and eat non natives. She was captured by a group of hunters in a night like this. In a dense fog, she managed to escape and eat her capturers. It is said that she still roam these forest, eating non natives in dense fogs. She howls right before she's going to devour her victims," he finished.

Jacob started laughing.

"Is this based on Leah?" He laughed. Seth elbowed him. I didn't get the reference.

"That story was lame," I said.

"Well it's the best I got," Embry pouted.

The night was getting colder and I felt tired.

"Well, I'm going to call it a night," I said while getting up from my chair.

"Which tent is mine?" I asked seeing the three pitched tent.

"You can pick whichever. We will split the other two," Quil said.

I nodded my head and went into the tent to sleep. I was so exhausted, I instantly went to sleep when I laid down.

My body woke up suddenly. I grabbed my phone and checked the time. It was only 3am.

I crawled towards the tent door and peeked outside. The fire was out and I'm guessing that the boys had went to bed. I was freezing and couldn't go back to bed.

I put on my thick jacket and shoes and crawled out of the tent. I remember seeing a nice lake nearby our site that I wanted to go see. I walked into the woods, walking towards the sound of running water. I found a boulder that was next to the lake and sat on it. I wrapped my blanket around me, closed my eyes, and enjoyed the sound of the trickling water.

When I opened my eyes, I realized that the forest was actually covered in fog. I thought back on the story that Embry told and snickered. Then a howl was heard. I felt all the blood from my face drain down to my toes.

"It was just a story," I said while closing my eyes tight. It was just a regular wolf, no woman was going to eat me. I heard footsteps behind me. My heart started racing. She wasn't going to eat me alive, I quickly threw myself off the boulder.

"What are you doing?" Jacob said as he caught me.

My eyes opened wide. I instinctively wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into his neck.

"Thank God it's you," I mumbled in his chest.

"Who was it going to be?" He laughed.

"Oh nothing..." I said embarrassed.

"Did you let the story get to you?" He laughed.

"Sorta," I admitted.

"What are you doing out here?" He asked.

"I woke up freezing and couldn't go back to sleep. I wanted to check out this lake so I came and sat on that boulder."

Jacob didn't let me go. He climbed on the boulder easily and then sat me down. He sat next to me.

"You shouldn't be out here alone though," he said while taking off his jacket and putting it around me.

"Aren't you cold?" I asked surprised.

"I'm used to it. Please take it," he said. I didn't complain.

We sat in silence until my teeth started clattering.

"How embarrassing," I said trying to stop my teeth.

Jacob grabbed me and held me close. Warmth immediately surged through me.

"Don't be embarrassed. You're cold."

"How the heck are you so warm?" I said while snuggling to him.

"I'm known to be warm," he smiled.

"Let me guess, you've snuggled with Bella like this?" I smirked.

Jacob started coughing. I guess he choked on his own spit.

"I'm just pulling your leg," I laughed.

"We've actually have. We went camping once... it was a pretty awkward memory now that I think of it," he laughed uncomfortably.

"Tell me more," I said intrigued.

"Well, Bella and I had decided to go camping together and her boyfriend decided to come along. They had a tent and I had mines. In the middle of the night, Edward had to come ask me to essentially cuddle with her cause she was freezing and he knew I was abnormally warm all the time. I happily obliged and cuddled with her in front of him. It was a win in my book, but now that I think about it..."

"Dude, that's super cringe," I laughed.

"Yeah, I guess it was cringe," he laughed.

"I can't believe you guys are all cool now," I said confused.

"It's been a long road, but yeah we're cool," he said. "How about you? What's your best camping memory?" He continued.

"Mom and I used to cuddle too," I smiled.

"Mom knew I get cold super easily. She was already going through menopause so she was always hot. She used to wrap me like a burrito and cuddle with me all night," I said.

The memory soothed me so much, I closed my eyes.

"You never told me what happened with your mom," Jacob told me.

"My mom..." I whispered. I was falling asleep.

"She was a fighter and she fought to the very end, but cancer got her..." I whispered before falling asleep.

Jacob's P.O.V

Lia fell asleep on me. My heart ached for her. It was as I felt her sadness and it made me want to comfort her. I didn't want to move from my position because I knew she was comfortable.

As she slept, a pungent smell made its way to my nose. That meant a vampire was nearby. After months of peace, we got our first vampire trespass. I carried Lia back to the tent site. I woke up Seth first since he was the lightest sleeper. I told him about the smell and asked him to wake the other two while I took Lia home. He understood the instructions.

I carefully managed to take Lia home without waking her up and left her a note on her desk. I transformed and made my way back to campsite to investigate the smell.

Did you figure out anything? I thought.

No, but that smell is very strong. I think the last time I smelled something so strong was when the Volturi came," Seth said.

Maybe it was the Volturi, Quil said.

Could be. We're going to have to strengthen our security again," I said.

Oh no, more patrols," Embry groaned.

Let's go to Sam. We got to let him know," I said.

After our investigations, we went to Sam house to inform him.

Amelia P.O.V

When I woke up, I was surprised that I was home. There was a note left on my desk.

There was a wild animal so I brought you home. I'll see you soon -Jake

I immediately got worried. I hope the other boys are okay. I tried calling Jacob's house phone but he didn't respond.

I got nervous and tried to calm my nerves by taking a shower. I got dressed and called Jacob's house again. Once again, I didn't get any response. I sat on my futon biting my nails.

There was a knock on my door, and I immediately ran to open the door. Outside stood Jacob with a bag that smelled like food.

"I brought you breakfast," he smiled.

"How's the others? No one got hurt right?" I asked worried.

"I wouldn't be standing out here with breakfast if someone got hurt, now let me in so we can eat. I'm starving," he said.

I let him in and watch him put the breakfast on my small table.

"What happened last night?" I asked.

"The howling got closer so we decided that it would be best to leave. We didn't want something to happen since not to long ago we had bear attacks and whatnot," Jacob said.

"Oh, okay," I said. It made sense.

Jacob served me my breakfast and sat on the futon. He patted the space next to him.

"Who made you king of my futon?" I laughed and sat next to him.

"I didn't say I was king of your futon, I just wanted you next to me," he said.

I bit my lip. This kid didn't have a filter.

We ate breakfast together. It was nice having breakfast just the two of us.

"Do you want me to make you coffee?" I asked.

"That would be great," he said.

I stood up and went to the kitchen to make us coffee.

"So since camping was ruined for you, what would you like to do? He asked.

"Camping wasn't ruined. I had lots of fun. I could just chill home today. I restart school next Monday so I still have a whole week," I said.

"I'll think of something to make it up to you," he said.

I brought the coffee and gave it to him.

"You don't have to make up anything," I said and sat next to him.

While I plopped myself next to him, some of my coffee spilled and burned my hand.

"Ouch!" I said.

"Are you okay" Jacob said while grabbing my coffee from my hand.

"Yeah, just got burned. I'll be fine," I said.

Jacob put both our coffees on the floor and dragged me up and towards the sink. He put my hand under running water.

"You got to be careful," he said.

"Yes dad," I said. I felt my face get red.

He grabbed a straw from a stack that I kept next to my sink and dragged me back to the futon. When we sat, he grabbed my mug and put the straw.

"Let's prevent another injury," he said. I nodded my head in agreement and he grabbed my cup.

What was with him?
