Hey guys! Please enjoy this next chapter. Any feedback is appreciated.

After that day, things became more busy for Jacob. Since Billy told me I could have the week off, I barely saw much of Jacob. Jacob told me he received a job that he had to work on it at night. He was basically up all night and slept most of the day. It didn't make sense to me why he would have to work on anything at night, but I didn't push it since I understood that he just didn't want to tell me the truth.

I felt a little disappointed, but I pushed those feelings away.

Saturday came along and I ran my own errands including laundry, cleaning, and getting the necessary supplies needed for next semester. Saturday night came along and I found myself with nothing but my own thoughts. I wanted to call Jacob, but I knew he was most likely busy working so I called Paul instead. Paul was also very busy this week for some reason, but he at least picked up my phone calls.

"Hey Paul, what's up?"

"Hey Lia, here that I just got out of work," he told me.

"Where is it that you worked again?" I asked.

"It's a small store in La Push, nothing major," he said quickly.

"Huh, maybe I should come visit you at work," I joked.

He laughed, but the laugh seemed a bit nervous to me.

"Anyways, what are you up too?" He asked.

"Nothing. I'm a little tense honestly. I was hoping you can go get some drinks with me?" I asked.

He sighed.

"I don't think I can tonight," he said.

"I get it, you have a hot date to attend too," I joked.

"No, it's not that... plus that hot date would be you," he joked.

"Yeah yeah," I replied.

"Maybe next time," he said.

"Oh, alright. Good night," I said before hanging up.

I decided to go to the nearest liquor store and buy myself some champagne and Orange juice. I felt like drinking some Mimosas.

I went back home and poured myself a glass of champagne with a bit of juice. I missed my mom so much today. The loneliness was exacerbating the pain in my heart. I drank one cup after another. I pulled out old videos of my mom and I on my phone and watched them on repeat. I still couldn't believe that she was actually gone. Tears poured from my eyes as I tortured myself.

My phone vibrated and a messaged appeared on my phone.

"Hey, we're all meeting down at a bar. Are you down?" It was a text from one of my classmates.

"Yes. Send me the address," I texted back instantly.

I chugged my drink and ran to my closet to pick out something to wear. I changed out of my pajamas and into black jeans and a green tube top. I paired the outfit with a leather jacket and black flats. My hair was naturally wavy so I didn't do much to it. I put on light Mascara and made my way to out of the house.

I locked the front door and got into my truck. I put the address on my GPS and made my way to the bar.

The bar wasn't too far from home. I parked outside of a restaurant where an alternative rock band could be heard from the outside. I got out and made my way inside. My classmates were sitting at a table near the band.

"Hey," I waved while sitting in the next empty spot. There were 4 of my classmates sitting at the table.

"Yay, you made it!" Britney smiled. We weren't close friends, but we were good acquaintances.

"Of course, I never say no to drink," I laughed.

"We're enjoying our last Hoorah before we go back into the torture," Mike said.

"I agree. Last semester was rough and it only goes downhill from here," I said.

"Hey, Can I start you guys off with drinks?" The waitress asked.

We all ordered alcoholic drinks to start.

"So next semester we take pharmacology," Leslie said. She put on a fake pout. "I'm going to totally suck at it," she cried.

"No way, stop. If you think like that, you're just setting yourself up for failure," Julian said.

The band took a break from playing. We ordered food and had our drinks. By the time the food arrived, we had ordered another set of drinks. The band came back on stage and started playing. We ordered shots.

"We should get together every time we finish a semester and every time we start semester! That way we can hype each other up," Britney said holding up her shot glass.

"Y-Yesssss," Slurred Leslie.

"I'm down! This could be our tradition," Julian said.

We did a toast with our shot glasses and we drank our alcohol in one swish.

"Another set of shots on me!" Mike yelled at the waitress.

I was drunk as hell at this point. I was not seeing straight. The waitress brought another set of shots and we toasted once again. I was good at covering up the fact that I was wasted, but this time I over did it since I was drinking at home as well.

After a very long time, we finally paid the bill. We all dragged ourselves out of the bar. Julian put his arm around my shoulders.

"You can get yourself home?" He asked.

"Probably not," I admitted. I was looking at the floor, not being able to walk properly.

"I can take you home," he said.

"That's not necessary," a voice said. I recognized the voice. I looked up and noticed Jacob leaning on my truck.

"You know this guy?" Julian asked.

"Yes... yes... that's J-Jacob," I slurred. I pulled myself from under Julian and sloppily made my way toward Jacob.

"How'd youknooow I was here?" I asked.

"Don't worry about it. I'll take you home," he said with a gruff voice.

"Okay," I squeaked and gave him my car keys.

I waved goodbye and made my way to the passenger seat. Jacob got in and started driving. He looked mad.

"Thanksss for c-conveninnnly being here," I said trying to break the silence. Maybe I should have stayed silent because I was having a difficult time pronouncing words.

"No problem," he growled.

I bit my lip nervously.

"Who was that guy? Was he going to take you home?" He asked.

"Who? J-Julian? He's just a guy fromm school," I answered.

I noticed Jacob grab the steering wheel tightly.

"You don't really know him. What if he was up to no good?" he shouted.

I was taken back by his reaction.

"First!" I shouted. "I'mmm drunk but not sstupidd," I slurred.

"Second!" I said while raising two fingers up. "Whyyy do you even care so mmuch?"

Jacob slammed the breaks. Good thing I was wearing my seat belt because my chest went forward. Jacob put his arm out and stopped my body from moving forward.

He took a deep breath.

"I know you're not stupid. I worry about you... a lot ," he said.

Jacob was looking down. I couldn't understand what could possibly be going through his head.

"Well then... Sorry for worrying you..." I muttered.

He looked back to the road and kept driving in silence.

Jacob parked in front of my place. He helped me out of the car and to my front door.

"Thanks again," I murmured and opened the door.

"Let me make sure you go to bed," Jacob said as I walked in.

"It's not necessary," I said. At that moment, I tripped with my own two feet and fell forward. Jacob quickly caught me before I fell.

"Okay girlie, let's get you in bed," he said while standing me up and helping me to my bed.

I dropped myself on my futon and kicked off my shoes.

"Okeeeey, I'm in," I said while putting to covers on.

"I can see that. Good night," he said.

"Niiiight," I responded.

Jacob bent forward and kissed my forehead. Electricity flowed through my body and my heart raced. Jacob pulled up.

"Umm, I'll take your house key to lock up okay?," he said quickly.

I nodded my head and covered my face with the blanket. I didn't want him to see my face flushed.

Sunday I woke up extremely late and with a headache.

"Ugh l have a pounding headache," I groaned and looked at the time. I couldn't help but laugh. It was already 2pm.

"God, what a hangover," I said while throwing myself back in bed.

I wanted to just stay under the covers but there was a knock on my door. I rolled out of bed and put on a hoodie that I had by the bed. I looked like a complete mess and I was still wearing what I wore last night.

I went to the door and opened it without seeing who was outside. I was shocked to see Charlie.

"Oh hey Charlie!" I said a bit awkwardly. He chuckled at me.

"Were you still in bed?" He asked.

"What gave it away?" I replied while laughing awkwardly.

"You have major bed head," he said pointing at my hair.

I quickly tried to soothe it down.

"Hah you caught me," I said.

"Well anyways, I was going to have a barbecue at my place later tonight. Billy and Sue will be over. Would you like to join us?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, would love too. Thanks for the invite. I'll be over," I said.

"Great, I'll start cooking like around 6pm," he said.

"Okay. I can bring sides," I said.

"No no. You relax. Sue got the sides handled. You just be my guest," he said. I nodded my head.

"Okay, will do," I said.

"Alright, see you later," he said while walking away.

I closed the door and made my way straight back into bed. I had to keep sleeping.

I woke up close to 6pm. I got up, went to shower, and got dressed to go over Charlie's place. I changed into some high waisted jeans and a long sleeve shirt. I washed my hair and allowed it to dry naturally so it will become wavy. I put on my black Adidas, and made my way over to Charlie's house.

Outside the house already smelled like barbecue. I recognized Sue's truck outside. I guess they were already there. As I made my way to the front, I heard someone call out to me.

"Amelia, come back here!" It was Seth. He had Charlie's gate opened to the backyard.

"Coming!" I said while running up to him.

"Hope you're hungry. Charlie and my mom are making lots of food," Seth grinned at me.

"Oh, I'm definitely starving," I said.

Seth closed the gate and we walked over where everyone was sitting.

Sue and Billy was sitting at a table next to Charlie as he cooked. Charlie wore this funny apron that said, "Kiss the cook."

"Hey! I like your apron," I laughed.

"Thanks, Sue got it for me," he grumbled.

"They are sorta dating," Seth whispered at me.

"Oh," I said while sitting next to Billy.

"I'm guessing Jacob's asleep?" I asked Billy.

"Yeaupp. You know how hard he works," Billy said.

"That I do."

"He's not working too hard, is he?" Charlie asked.

His tone didn't sound quite normal though. Kinda felt like he was insinuating something else.

"Not anything we should be concerned about," Billy said. I was officially lost.

Charlie continued to cook while I hung out with Seth. We found a football and decided to toss it around.

"Where's your sister by the way?" I asked.

"Who knows," he answered.

"I don't think she likes me very much. I've tried talking to her a couple of time and she just ignores me," I said.

"Don't take it personal. She's a great person dealing with her own problems," he said.

"Hmm, I guess I could understand," I said.

After a while, the food was ready.

"Your boy isn't showing up at all?" Charlie asked Billy.

"Of course. I can't say no to food," Jacob said while walking in.

He walked over to Charlie and patted him on the back.

"Did you miss me?" He joked. Charlie snorted.

"Sit your behind down," he said.

Sue got up and went inside the house. I guess she was going to start serving everyone. I threw the ball on the ground and walked towards her.

"Hey Sue, let me help you out," I said.

"I appreciate it. I have to go to the bathroom, but you can start grabbing the sides and putting them outside," she said.

I nodded my head and started taking items outside. When I came back inside, the phone rang. I wasn't sure if it was appropriate for me to answer the phone, but it kept ringing. I decided to answer it.

"Dad?" I heard Bella's voice. The hairs from behind my neck stood.

I stayed quiet

"Dad?" She said again, but this time sounding worried.

"Hey Bella, this is Amelia... his neighbor. Umm, your dad is outside doing barbecue. Do you want me to get him?" I said awkwardly.

"Oh umm... no that's okay. Is he doing okay?" She asked.

"Honestly, I think he's doing great," I answered.

"And how's Jacob? I know you're taking care of Billy," she said.

I was a little uncomfortable answering that.

"Umm... well...Jacob..."

"You talking about me?" Jacob said while coming inside the house.

"Oh, it's Bella. She was asking about you," I said.

Jacob's eye went open and he rushed towards the phone. He basically ripped it out of my hand.

"Bella," he sighed.

I was completely shocked by his reaction. He basically ran me over to get to the phone. I bit my cheek and continued to take the food and utensils outside. I felt my face turn red with embarrassment and anger. I tried to ignore him every time I walked in to get something.

"Alright, take care of Nessie," he finally said and hung up.

I pretended I didn't hear him and got the last of the food which was some deserts.

"Here, let me help you," Jacob said.

"Sure."

I basically shoved the plates at him and made my way out. I sat next to Billy and Charlie. Jacob came outside with a confused look and put the deserts on the table.

"What were you doing so long in the the kitchen?" Charlie asked.

"Oh I was talking to Bella," he said.

"She called? What did she say?" Charlie asked.

"Everything is going great. She might even be able to pass by for Christmas," he told him. Charlie smiled.

"That's great. I want to see my granddaughter," he said.

I awkwardly stayed silent as Sue began to serve us food.

I had lost my appetite at that point but I kept up appearances and when everyone was almost done, I excused myself. I gave them a lame excuse about needing to prepare for next week and catch up on some readings.

"It's okay honey, you can leave your plate there. I'll clean up afterwards," Sue told me. I thanked everyone and left. Jacob looked at me slightly confused or maybe disappointed. I avoided eye contact with him and rushed off.

Halfway to my place, a warm hand grabbed my hand.

"Hey, what was that?" Jacob asked slightly annoyed.

"What?" I said playing dumb.

"Why did you leave all the sudden?" He asked.

I was embarrassed of the truth. I didn't want to tell him that seeing him talk to Bella made me jealous. I bit my lip nervously.

"I just really need to study. I've been goofing off. I gotta hit the books," I said.

"You sure there isn't more to it?" He asked. I nodded my head.

"Why? Should there be more?" I questioned.

"No..." he mumbled.

I pulled my hand away from hand.

"Okay then, I'll be going," I said and went home.
