Long ago, in the generations before us, there was light.
This light was the peace of all of Equus itself. Everypony loved it, they would bathe in its glory and it was loved by many of the creatures there.
However, one creature began to develop a greed for the light and his desperation grew for more of the light. Others began to follow with him, as they began to fight with those who loved the light.
Everypony wanted to keep the light for themselves, and because of their greed - darkness was born within, unleashing the shadow of Grogar himself who sought out the light to smite it with darkness, as he was the creator.
A battle ensued, and the ram won - as he took that Bewitching Bell around his neck and used it, smothering all of Equus into the shadows, taking the battle to the heavens where he would take another form.
Equus was lost in the shadows...
...But it survived.
Thanks to the specks of light from the youngest fillies, they used the light within them for good - securing the darkness away for that time and rebuilding all that they have lost from before Grogar came.
From that light, the Five Songs were born. When Grogar was defeated and banished from the alicorn heavens, the Songs showered him, sealing him away.
To this very day, the darkness is still scattered among all of Equestria and the other lands on the world of Equus; Grogar's very presence still haunting the areas where he seeked the Aria of Darkness, which only now can be found from the Five Songs he tried to possess.
None of the young knew of the forthcoming prophecy that one day into the future, in which a hero with a golden soul who possessed the Song of Order would rise again to slay the necromancer ram once and forevermore.
Only then when his shadow is extinguished, the light would seep and flourish again in all of Equus.
But will this self-fulfilling prophecy come true? Or is all of the planet destined to sink into the shadows to become forgotten?
