Chapter 50 "Enemies Seen and Unseen"
Dawn of a new day and Reggie was feeling a bit more lonely than he had in years hiding away at Grimmauld Pl. The MAGIC students were all away in Asgard and he was left here to keep watch over the crazy bastard of a headmaster and pine over the love of his life. He knew that he would never find another lover like Severus because he was his soul mate. He cursed his mother for denying him his happiness and whoever framed him for the murder of his fiancé. It was because of them he was now waiting to see if Severus would give him another chance. Rising from his bed he stretched and felt the many pops and creeks in his old bones. Okay he wasn't that old but some days he did feel a hundred years older due to the stress that had been haunting them all.
"Caw"
"Morning Тьма"
"Caw"
"I know it has been a bit quiet without our top students here to busy us with their training but they'll return soon. Well we better get ready for the day we're of no use to anyone if we're being lazy louts." The DADA Professor said heading in to the bathroom for a shower. He went through his normal morning routine and made sure to look his best in case he ran into Severus. He made sure the wards were up and to lock his door before setting off to the Great Hall for breakfast. He made it to the end of the hallway before he saw Shadow and Gigi run by him. He could tell they were chasing something but he couldn't tell what. So he followed the pair of Jinx and found them sitting at a dead end of the hallway.
"So you two have lost your prey. Come along I'm sure the house elves have breakfast for you both."
"Reow," huffed Shadow upset they lost the rat again but his sister butted her head to his as if to say 'Let it go for now we'll get him later.' the Jinx cats fell in step behind the Professor and made it to the hall with out fuss and no sign of their target.
"Good Morning Professor Flitwick."
"Good Morning Regulus. I see you found the daring duo. They ran off as soon as I opened my chamber door." The tiny charms Professor smiled.
"Well I saw them chasing something on my floor but they lost it, once they turned the corner and hit a dead end."
"Yes, yes, they have been chasing something these pass few months but have yet to catch it. I fear Shadow has become quite frustrated at this development."
"I could tell when he just paced the hallway waiting for sign of their prey." Regulus sighed looking down at the cats at his feet.
"They will catch it eventually."
"I don't doubt it but why are they so determined to get this particular prey? Why is it so important?"
"They are cats Black. I hardly think that they are in deep thought about chasing a rat."
"Good Morning Severus. It's nice to see you out of the Potions Lab." the Ravenclaw Professor greeted.
"Good morning Professor Flitwick, I am just here for nourishment I am heading back to the labs after this. Poppy is low on Pepper up Potion. There have been a lot of students down with a cold."
"Severus, that is good you are keeping up with the demand, but did you just say they were chasing a rat?" Regulus asked interrupting the two men.
"Yes Black that is exactly what I said. Why do you care which rodent the cats find amusing?" Snape looked at his former lover with a suspicious gaze. Then he was startled when the man jumped up from his seat.
"Because they haven't been chasing a rat, but a Traitor." The DADA teacher took off running out of the hall. Teachers and student alike wondered why Professor Black was running like Dementors were on his heels. It was then things clicked for the Potions Professor.
"Damn it I should have thought of that sooner. Sorry Filius but I must go. I believe Black will need my assistance." Snape was out of his seat and running to catch up with the current Lord Black.

The training grounds were filled with competitors warming up for the games. The Avengers and MAGIC students were together sorting out their plans of which events they would be competing in. Clint and Daphne were up first in the archery event going against the elves of Alfheim as well as Vanahian long distant warriors, and Fandral of the Warrior three. Draco and Hermione were going to be in the magic event with Dr. Strange against the Mages of Vanaheim. The twins were with Harry in the hand to hand combat with the Widow Captain and the Winter Soldier. Then Harry, Peter, along with the Hulk, Steve as well as Bucky would be competing in the strength competition against Asgard, Jotunheim and Muspelheim. Peter and Tony were going to do a tech demonstration against the Dwarves. Neville and Susan were doing the obstacle course against Alfheim, Vanaheim, and Asgard. Then there would be Weapons demonstrations from each Realm and their warriors' skills with their chosen blade or firearms. Harry and Draco were chosen for this as Draco admitted that he had been taking fencing lessons since he was small.
The events were spread out over four days and the delegates were going to use the games to showcase their Home Realms and to strengthen trade and alliances. Jareth was with Luna, Theo, Pepper and Coulson promoting Earth as a growing world no longer in the dark ages. The feast last night had been a huge success and Loki had spent time talking with his clan Brother Helblindi closing the distance between them a bit more. Tony had been in deep discussions with the Dwarves over the Iron Man suits. Frigga couldn't be happier with how the Summit had started. She was exhausted by then end of the night but it had been all worth it for the peace among the realms.
"Mother a coin for your thoughts?"
"Morning Hela, I was just thinking that the Norns have truly blessed us. None of this would have been possible if Haraldr had not existed." Frigga said as she stood on the balcony over looking the training fields.
"That is true. His warriors are showing great promise as well. I believe Midgard shall gain some notoriety at this Summit."
"Anthony is especially excited to show off his creations."
"The Tin Man likes to show off that he can be the smartest person in the room. Sometimes I wonder how he even fits in the doorway with his head so full of ego and hot air."
"Daughter must you insult him, today of all days? He makes your Brother happy leave him be at last until the Summit is over."
"Fine but only until the Summit is over. Has the Ox emerged from his office yet?"
"Not as of yet. He received new trade agreements and is going over them before he signs them. These trades are more open and will help the realms prosper especially for Jotunheim."
"Good the Old Man is finally leading the realms as he should have been doing centuries ago. Now I must go prepare as well. I am entered in the combat games today."
"Try not to over do it dear as these are supposed to be friendly games. The less humiliating of Thor would be appreciated." Frigga asked but knew her words fell on deaf ears as she heard the fading laughter of her daughter.
"Your Highness, I have come to tell you that the All Father requests your presence on field throne he is about to open the games."
"Thank you Heimdall, do keep an extra eye out on Haraldr and his friends. Odin has told you of the danger that surrounds him, has he not?"
"He has and I will let you know if I see anything that is a threat to these games as well as Prince Haraldr." The Gate keeper bowed before he left to return to his post.
Frigga sighed trying not to let her worry overwhelm her as she glided down the stairs. She was greeted at the bottom of the stairs by the Sorcerer Supreme with his second in command. "Greeting Doctor Strange, and Master Wong."
"Good Day your Highness." Stephen and Wong both bowed to the queen.
"Are you entering the games Master Wong?"
"No, your Highness. Princess Hela and King Jareth have told us of the young boy Theo Nott. He lost his mother and we have agreed to be his new guardians. I will be here helping with meeting other representatives, letting him get use to me being around over the next few days. We will tell him about his mother and the guardianship after the Summit is over." Wong explained.
"Yes Hela informed me last night. I believe Little Sister Luna has a feeling that his mother is gone but she hasn't said anything. She is her fated's silent support and I doubt she'll leave his side." Frigga agreed sadly.
"Wong, why don't you escort the queen to the opening ceremonies? I need to catch up with the others on the field." Stephen bowed to the two walking off to the training fields.
"Thank you, Master Wong, for taking on this child. I know it can not be an easy decision." Frigga took the sorcerer's offered arm as the walked to the Royal box of the spectator stands.
"Actually, it will be nice to have a young pupil in the Sanctum. After teaching Harry I have come to realize that children can offer much to the understanding of magic and human nature. I also believe raising this child will be far easier than when Stephen first arrived in Kamar-Taj. He may be Sorcerer Supreme now but he was a pain in the neck as a student to the Ancient One." The queen chuckled at the pouting sorcerer as they walked out to the fields.

The MAGIC students were stretching in the area next to the Avengers. First was the Archery competition to start off the games. Clint and Daphne were the chosen Midgard competitors against three of the other Realms. The Frost and Fire Giants as well as the Dwarves were too big to participate in this competition.
"You ready Daphne?"
"Yes sir," The Slytherin grabbed her bow and ran up to Hawkeye who was wearing Black and Purple armor made by Tony. The MAGIC students had similar armor but in their house colors per Harry's request. So there were Four Lions, Two Snakes, and a Badger. Luna and Theo were wearing robes in their house colors of blue and green. Harry would be wearing the meshed up armor as he was part of three Realms. He decided against the archery because he didn't have the practice and vision for it. Out of all the nine Realms you would think he would have found a better option for repairing his eyesight but Potions weren't permanent, lasers near his eyes freaked him out so glasses were it because he was afraid of poking his own eyes if he tried contacts.
"Uncle Clint, Daphne the Competitors are lining up. After my grandfather makes his speech they will call you to the field. You will be hitting not only stationary targets but moving targets as well. Like the in the Olympics on earth the judges will assign points and the highest score will be declared the winner." Harry explained shifting his crown to a choker with the mind stone close and not obstructing.
"You got it Harry. We'll bring home the gold." Clint winked.
"Come on Clint, its show time." Natasha patted the two archers on the backs and nudged them forward.
They were all gather on the huge field of the Gigantic Stadium. Harry thought he saw his aunt's 'friend' the Grand Master, probably going to hit up the gambling on the games. In the Royal box was all his family, his grandparents and his clan Uncle Helblindi and his Godfather and Father. His father decided he should not participate in the games and would rather mingle with the delegates. Tony and Harry were already participating there was no need for him to show off his physical skills when his verbal ones were just as powerful.
"Are all the challengers ready?" Odin had waved a hand over his throat and his voice filled the air.
"YEAH!" Everyone shouted and cheered.
"Then I declared these Games opened to the Nine Realms in a sign of Peace. Each Realm has chosen their impartial judge and the scores will be tallied at the end of the day and the winners of the day will announced at the nightly feast. Three days from now we will hold the Closing Feast which the winner of the Summit will be announce by how many games have been won. They shall hold the Yggdrasil Star until the next Games in Twenty years time. I wish you all the blessing of the Norns, Let the Games begin!" Odin struck Gungnir on the ground and a wave of magic spread throughout Asgard. The crowd went wild feeling the wave of magic wash over them.
"Haraldr looks ready for battle."
"That he does Jareth. Anthony has made sure the children well protected with his new armor. I know Haraldr did the runes and enchantments for add protection. There are more protections on his own armor that he doesn't know about thanks to my Clan Brother Helblindi and the fur of our barer."
"How are you getting on with your younger brother?" The Goblin King asked.
"We are slowly adjusting but Haraldr is the main reason we are both trying to get along. Oh there goes the Little Hawk and one of Haraldr's friends."
"Did you know Anthony nearly had an attack of the heart when I told him about Legolas." Jareth laughed.
"You didn't." Loki's head whipped around to see his centuries old friend laughing his head off.
"I did. Oh come on you can not fault his younger brother for writing about praises of Legolas' archery skills as well as his frustrations with his family and the protocols of the Realms. The Child has an over active imagination and was tired of being ignored."
"He was only thirty when he ran away from Alfheim to Midgard. It took us years to find him he was in a mortal war then he wrote novels insulting not only his own father but all of us in the Nine Realms. He called Odin, Sauron, and Heimdall his Eye that keeps a watch over all. Don't forget you were described as a fat bloated monster that was beheaded by Gandalf or should I say his Grandfather Bork. He was the only one who he spoke favorably." Loki pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Tolkein was an imaginative child. I mean he was able to blend in with the mortals by adding names to his birth name. I know why I was given such a gruesome death; it was because I was the one to tell his mother that he had ordered building supplies and paid for them with fake jewels. He was trying to build his own Lonely Mountain as an escape from his father."
"If he was so upset with Thranduil why wasn't he the dragon?"
"You mean he was talking about you?! Oh that is too funny you are Smaug! Why would he call you a hoarding dragon?" Jareth burst out laughing so loud the other turn to the two.
"Shhh, before he paid you in fake jewels he tried to steal from one of my many dens of treasures that I have collected in my travels. I caught him and returned him to Legolas to deal with."
"Is that all?"
"He may have triggered one of my traps that set his pants on fire. Other than that I did not deserved to be called a hoarding dragon." Loki sniffed turning his gaze back at the archery event.
"Certainly not, dear friend." Jareth rolled his eyes. "It seems that Barton is an equal match for Legolas."
"The girl Daphne has beaten out Fandral, before losing to Barton. Haraldr must be proud that her training as well as the others to have gone so far."
"Loki dear, please refrain from talking other want to enjoy the competition."
"Sorry Mother, we shall be silent." The God of Mischief apologized while elbowing his friend in the ribs. The games just started and already it felt like it should be over.

"We've been at this for hours Black there is no sign of the rat." Severus paced the room of the Founders.
"He's got to be here there is no where else for him to run. I don't know why I didn't put it together until now. This is the only place he considers safe but I thought the Dementor would have kept him from coming on the grounds. Now he is some how herein the castle. Severus how long do you think the cats have been chasing him?"
"Since October. I hadn't noticed e was here either I was focused on keep an eye on the headmaster. I have only managed to be in his office alone a handful of times but not long enough for a proper search. I wish we had more information and I don't remember much of your brother and his friends' activities when we were students unless they were bullying me." The potion Master couldn't keep the bitterness from his voice.
"I'm sorry that he was such a prat but my brother was messed up thanks to our mother and he found you an easy target to vent out all his anger and frustrations. I was one of his targets when we were trapped in the house together. He would write the nastiest pranks that he wished he could pull on her but she scared us shitless that he never tried. I bet he filled that book up ten times over when he was in school." Regulus sighed pouring out the tea that a house elf just dropped off.
"Book? Are you telling me Sirius black kept journal?" Severus' head shot up.
"It was more a prank book and Marauders playbook. Why?"
"He might have written down Places they went to be alone or where they felt safe from the Professors."
"Are you sure you want to go looking in that particular cauldron?" Regulus winced.
"Yes why?"
"To get to the book we'll have to talk to his graduation portrait. James's Father had it done before he passed away that following winter. It's painting of Sirius, James, and Remus. Peter really wasn't that close to them so he wasn't invited for the sitting. Three copies were made and only two remain. Since it's a painting of their graduation they have no memories of after they graduated and they don't know of Harry's existence. I haven't had the heart to bring it up with the boy either." The DADA professor confessed.
"Wonderful, you are going to have to tell Lokison about that painting. He will be shocked at first but he will want to meet them eventually along with living his father."
"Yeah I know, but I'm not sure how to bring it up."
"Right, that's your problem for a later time. Right now we have to focus on the rat. Where is the painting now?"
"My chambers. Ever since their deaths I've held on to Sirius' copy and talked to it everyday. When I came here I brought Remus' copy with me out of the vault. So there is one here and one at Black Manor. I assume that James' copy was destroyed in the fire the night he died. It's almost curfew so we better go talk to them before the leave and help Peeves with his pranks." Regulus said finishing his tea then heading to the door.
"You mean you have let them loose to disrupt the entire castle?" the potions master was hot on the man's heels.
"Meow?" Gigi turned her head to Shadow as the lounged in a near by window.
"Reow!" the two jinx cats jumped down and followed the two professors to the DADA class room. They trotted into the room before the door closed on them then took up resident on the couch in Reggie's living room of his quarters.
"Well here they are. Lads! I brought a guest to see you!"
"Is it Harry?" James jumped up from his chair dropping the book from his hands.
"No it's Severus. How do you know about Harry, James?" The professor was shocked.
"A few weeks ago I over heard Professor Gryffindor and Professor Slytherin talking outside the headmaster's office about the Potter Heir being in danger. I asked Sir Nicolas if he knew who the Potter heir was and if he was a sorted in Gryffindor. He told me his name was Harry and that he was sorted into Ravenclaw. I asked other portraits about him but I get conflicting stories on his name and history. I haven't been able to see him yet there are no paintings in his dorm and he doesn't hang out in the normal common areas."
"Your son is a smart young man, Potter, but he goes by his father and Step-fathers last name. His full name is Haraldr James Potter Lokison-Stark."
"Lokison? I married Loki?" James face lit up at the news.
"You knew Loki at this age, while you were in school?" Reggie asked.
"I first met Loki in Diagon Alley when I was fifteen; we had ice cream and talked. It was nice but I didn't think that would see him again but I did the next summer. We talked again and went out to lunch and I asked him if I could see him again. He said he would visit again next summer and if I want to meet him then I was to meet him there at Florean Fortescue's on that exact same day. I waited a whole year to meet him again and he was there waiting for me with a Sundae to share. I have no more memories after that." James said sadly.
"Potter, unfortunately you did not marry Loki, I am sorry but he was called back to Asgard when you were carrying Harry. You had married Lily Evans for his protection. We have limited knowledge on his upbringing after your death. It would be best to ask your son about that as it is very private and personal to him." Severus said solemnly.
"Thank you for telling us Severus. We all have been curious about Harry since we heard of his existence." Remus came to James' side while Sirius pouted in the corner. The werewolf put a silencing charm on the animagus the second he saw the potion master entered the room.
"Thanks Reggie, thanks Severus I hope I can meet Harry one day."
"You're welcome James but there is another reason we're here. Sirius, we need to know where you hid your prank Book. Peter has been causing trouble for Harry and his friends and we need to know where he could be hiding."
Sirius mouth was moving but nothing came out. Then Remus waved his wand and ended the charm, with a sheepish expression. "Sorry Sirius I didn't want you to make a fuss because Severus is here."
"Yeah? Well you are going to get it later Remi, my love. So Reg you want my book what's in it for me?"
"Siri, knock off, this is to help Harry." Remus whacked his mate upside the head.
"What about the Marauders Map?" James asked.
"Peter got it taken away by Filch, but Peeves said he saw some of the Weasley children using it." Remus sighed.
"That does us no good they are in Asgard with Harry right now." Reggie rubbed his hands over his face.
"I got a copy in my book, but you'll have to go to the shrieking shack to retrieve it. I hid it under a floor board with our initials carve on it and its password protected." Sirius confessed.
"What's the password Ris?" Reggie leaned closer seeing the paint of his brother's cheeks turn red in a blush.
"Padfoot loves Moony to the stars and back."
"I feel my teeth rotting, that is so sweet and sentimental."
"Sev Please, they were kids in Love. My brother may have been a major Prat but he loved Remus to the very end. Thanks Ris, this will help us protect Harry. James when Harry gets back I'll talk to him about meeting you."
"Thank you Regulus, what ever happens keep him safe."
"I will, Severus is helping too and we'll put Peter back in Azkaban where he belongs." The two cats watched the Professors converse with the painting. Jinx cats were very smart and they knew something important was being said. The Sibling cats decided it would be best to stick close to these humans. They would help them catch the false rat keeping their favorite godling safe.
XxXxXxXxXx
"Hela, why did you have to hit me so hard? It is supposed to be friendly games after all."
"Thor, stop whining I was showing the Strength of Niflheim." Hela rolled her eyes as her little brother sat on the bench with an ice pack, that Harry made, over his eye.
"You showed them that Uncle Thor will always be your little brother, who you can put in his place at any time." Harry sighed as he applied bruise salve to the Thunder God.
"Well, I may have gotten a bit carried away but it had been a long time since we last spar and he did pull on my hair. He knows I hate it when he does that." The goddess hated when Haraldr sounded disappointed in her. He was her main weakness in the family only because he loved them all so deeply.
"I am sorry sister. I too got carried away and it was like were children again and I went to old habits." Thor admitted.
"I swear Grandmother is right you all will never grow up." Harry chuckled. "You are healed for now. Bucky just won against Hogun so I need to check up on him."
"Harry watch out!" Steve shouted jumping between the boy and holding up his shield against a giant boulder. Thor jumped swinging Mjolnir breaking the boulder up before it crushed the captain.
"That was no Accident." Hela hissed as her magic flared up creating a shield around the four of then as another boulder came flying towards the competitor resting area.
"Everyone take cover!" Harry projected to all through the mind stone. The Jotun, Muspelians and the Dwarves either caught or destroyed ones that came close to their camps. The Elves and Mages of Vanaheim put up strong shields to bounce them back.
Daphne had just come out of the changing tent when suddenly she was tackle to the ground a few feet away from the now crush tent. "Daphne, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I am."
"Was there anyone else in tent?"
"No, I was the last one to leave. Draco and Neville we already out because they were closer to the opening. Thank you George, you saved me."
"How did you know I'm George? I could have been Fred." The Gryffindor blushed as he stood up before helping the Slytherin to her feet.
"Fred doesn't have a small heart shaped freckle near his left ear."
"Right, well we're not out of danger yet. Go find Hermione and Susan help any one who's injured; I need to find Harry." George's face was flaming red now but he couldn't think about it now he had to protect Harry and find his brother.
"Right, you make sure Harry is safe but don't you dare die either." Daphne stood on her tip toes giving the red head a brief peck on the lips before running off to find the other healers of MAGIC.
"Brother! Don't just stand there Harry needs US!" Fred ran by grabbing the back of his twin's armor and dragging him off to look for their Prince.
It was utter chaos. Loki and the other magical wizards, mages, and Jareth held shields up to protect the spectators and the delegates from the attack. Tony thankfully suited up and he flew to where the Boulders were coming from and he was followed by Thor. The attackers were gone when they reached the huge catapults that had been left behind.
"Brother Anthony, the enemy is gone but I fear they will try again."
"I hear you buddy, but we can't leave these here for them to use again. I'll radio to Loki and ask him what we should do."
"Ask him if everyone is alright?"
"Hey Reindeer Games we found the catapults but they've been abandon. What do you want us to do?"
"Stay there Odin and the Other Representatives need to have a look and see which realm it came from before we can proceed. All the competitors have been accounted for so these are outside forces. Someone is determined that peace between the realms shall be stopped at all costs." Loki radioed back.
"Okay, hey how is everyone? Where's Harry?"
"Haraldr is safe with his guards and the children are helping any one who was injured in the attack. Hela says there were no fatalities, thank the Norns. The games are done for the day and the feast is canceled for tonight everyone will be served in their rooms while the delegates and Odin decide what to do next."
"Alright I'll see you in a bit." Tony hung up and relayed to Thor everything Loki said.
"Good Haraldr and the other are safe. This was a cowardly act upon the games of peace."
"Jarvis scan the area and the catapults. I want to have evidence when we catch the bastards."
"Yes, sir. Young Peter has found some has found a bag that belongs to no one near Prince Haraldr's former tent."
"Jarvis tell him to keep the bag safe and to bring it to the throne room for Loki."
"Yes, sir."
"Good News, Peter found some clues a spy left on the field. We'll have to analyze it when we get back to the Palace."
"Excellent. I look forward to serving these enemies some Asgardian Justice." The Thunder God was right to feel such anger; not only did these guys attack the games but they almost killed Harry if the Rogers hadn't been there to shield him. There was going to be a long line of people to take vengeance for attacking the little Jotun Prince. Harry had become the most beloved being in all the nine Realms and had more Avengers in the known Universe.
