Episode 86: Sick Daze
It's a bright, good morning sun shining on Mew, her friends, and their Pokemon, who have spent a peaceful night camping by a sparkling lake. Now they're getting ready for a hearty breakfast and another day of adventure.
As of now, Tomo, Jen, Molly, Meloetta, Skwovet, and Amura are washing their faces.
Tomo is done as he says, "Okay, I'm ready for breakfast!"
"Skwovet!" (Me, too!) Skwovet happily says.
"Loetta!" (Me, three!) Meloetta agrees as well.
"Yeah, so am I!" Misty says.
Togepi agrees.
Mew walks to Brock and calls out, "Hey, Brock? That oatmeal should be done by now, shouldn't it?"
"Oatmeal? Not again! I'm getting sick of oatmeal," Tomo says..
But Brock remains silent.
"Brock, is something wrong?" Misty asks, concerned.
"Brock?" Molly replies and places her hand on Brock's shoulder.
But the next moment, Brock falls over to the ground.
"Brock!" Misty cries out.
Pikachu and Eevee cry out, "Pika!/Eev!" (Brock!)
"Brock, are you okay?" Jen asks, worried.
Mew touches Brock's forehead and says, "Brock's sick! His forehead's burning up!"
"Brock, wake up!" Tomo calls out.
Even the Pokemon call out, "Say Something!)
Moments later, all the Pokemon gathered outside of the cabin as Brock is lying in bed, resting.
"Maybe it's a bad cold, or the flu," Misty suggests.
"Or maybe he just collapsed from exhaustion," Tomo says.
"He looks comfortable, doesn't?" Jen says.
"Yeah. He's been working hard of a long time, so let's let em sleep all day," Mew says.
"Okay. He'll both probably feel a whole lot better after a good sleep," Misty says.
But Brock soon sits up, startling everyone.
"You scared us! We thought you were both sound asleep this whole time," Tomo says.
Then Misty says, "Yeah, now why don't you lie back down and doze off?"
"It's not that easy, especially when you have several people talking all the time," Brock points out.
Everyone chuckles sheepishly and sweat drops before Brock tries to get up.
"What are you doing?!" Molly asks.
"Well, I can't just lie around in bed all day! I have too much work to do. I have to get breakfast and lunch and...do the laundry," Brock says, before collapsing.
"Easy, Brock. You're still sick," Misty says.
"Misty's right. You're not doing anything," Mew says.
"But, I can't," Brock says.
But Mew says, "Just lie down, Brock. You need to take care of yourself today and get some rest, and tucks Brock in.
"Maybe you're right. Maybe I could use a little sleep time today. If you need help, I have instructions on how to do the chores in my notebook," Brock says.
Then Mew then places the wet cloth on Brock's head.
"Don't worry about us, okay?" Mew says
"You just concentrate on getting better. We'll take care of everything else," Misty says.
"Yeah, Misty and I and everyone else can handle things on our own just fine," Mew says
Pikachu and Eevee, "Absolutely."
Then Togepi fetches Brock's notebook from his backpack.
Soon, everyone is outside.
"We're gonna have to cook for ourselves and feed all the Pokemon," Misy says.
"Haul water and wash clothes and get firewood, too?" Tomo says.
"I never realized how much we depend on Brock for things," Misty says.
"Well, we're able to help Brock with some of the stuff. We're gonna have to do the stuff Brock does for today," Mew says.
"Sounds good," Misty says.
Just then, Onix and Geodude and a few other Rock Types approach them.
"Hey, what's up with Geodude and Onix?" Jen asks.
"Isn't today the day Brock usually polishes his rock type Pokémon?" Misty suspects
"Yes. It's today," Mew says.
Onix and Geodude agree.
"Guys, I know we can't take Brock's place, but we're gonna polish you today! And we'll do our best to make sure you're well taken care of," Mew says.
Little by little, Mew, Tomo, and Jen polish Onix while Misty and Molly polish Geodude, and some are already sweating.
"Hey, guys? This is a lot harder than it looks, isn't it?" Misty says.
"Yeah. This is tiring," Tomo says.
Soon, Togepi walks over with Brock's notebook.
"Good idea, maybe Brock has some instructions in his notebook," Misty says, taking Brock's notebook and opening it, "Let's see. 'Here's my easy technique for cleaning rock and ground Pokemon. Take sand, sprinkle a small amount on the bristles of a scrubbing brush.'
"Sand huh," Mew says.
Then has an idea, Mew holds the brush to Eevee and says, "Eevee, can you use your Sand Attack gently to sprinkle some sand on to this brush."
Eevee happily oblige and uses her hind legs to kick a bit of sand around the brush.
"Thank you Eevee," Mew says.
"Eevee," (You're welcome.) Eevee says.
Then Mew uses the brush on Onix and it works perfectly.
"Great idea," Tomo says.
Tomo and the others then ask Eevee to do the same with their brushes and are able to use the Sand to polish the Pokemon.
Molly says, "I hope Brock gets better soon."
"Me too," Mew says.
Meanwhile, Brock is still having a fever and begins to dream. Brock soon sees Bellossom dancing in the field.
"Beautiful! What could be nicer than a field of flowers?" Brock says.
Brock then looks back and sees some ladies behind him.
"Now I know! This is a million times nicer than some field of flowers! Here I come ladies!" Brock happily says, and runs over.
But as Brock runs forward, a meteor is seen in the sky.
"It's, a meteorite headed right this way!" Brock says, surprised.
The meteorite hits, turning Brock's dream into a nightmare before he wakes up to find he's holding Pineco with Golbat nearby.
"It was just a dream!" Brock says, and turns to his Pokemon, "And you guys were standing watch over me the whole time!"
Both Pineco and Golbat agree.
"I really appreciate it.. You're true-blue friends," Brock says.
Soon, Brock hears Mew and the others talking.
"Am I doing it right, Misty?" Molly asks.
"You're doing good, but remember to be gentle and not brush so roughly," Misty says.
Then Mew's voice, "Remember to be careful Tomo, Onix can be a bit ticklish."
"I will," Tomo says.
"Eevee, can you put more sand on the brush," Jen asks.
"Sounds like the others are doing okay, but maybe I should go check on them," Brock says, and tries to get out of bed.
However, Golbat uses SuperSonic on Brock.
"Golbat, what're you doing?" Brock questions, and soon enough he lies back on his bed.
Brock realizes, "I get it, you're trying to get me to stay here and sleep, aren't you?"
The two Pokemon confirm.
"Okay, I will. And thanks for caring so much about my health, guys," Brock says, an tears up a bit, "I appreciate it very much."
Outside of the cabin.
"Tomo and I are gonna go look for some fruit so we can have it at lunchtime," Mew says.
"That's a good idea. Molly, Jen, and I will stay here and do the washing while Jenny helps keep an eye on Brock," Misty says.
"That's great," Mew says.
Then Tomo turns to the Pokemon. "Come on, guys, let's go!"
Mew, Tomo, and the Pokemon walk into the woods to find some apples to pick, but the trees are bare.
"This is weird. None of these apple trees have any apples," Mew says.
"Pika." (Quite strange.) Pikachu agrees.
Unknown to Mew and the others, however, Team Rocket are using some vacuum to suck up the apples from the trees.
James laughs, "Apple picking time!"
"In just a few minutes, we'll have enough fruit to last us for months," Jessie says, changing the tanks.
"Yeah, and whatever we can't eat, we can cook and pickle and bottle and dehydrate and make into jams and jellies and maybe even marmalade! And den we'll sell em!" Meowth happily says.
"We'll make enough to retire!" Jessie says.
"I like da sound of dat, Jessie!" Meowth happily says.
"Hey!" Tomo's voice calls out.
Team Rocket soon notices, Mew, Tomo, and their Pokemon staring them down.
"What're you doing?" Mew demands.
"Oh no, it's the twerp!" Jessie and James exclaim in shock
"You heard me! What're you three doing here?!" Mew demands.
"Mind your own business, we're not here making trouble!" Jessie angrily says.
"We're just picking fruit, so scram on the double! Now leave us alone before we pick on you," James says.
"Could you spare a few apples for our friend, Brock?" Tomo asks.
Wobbuffet soon pops up, "Wobbuffet," (Of course.)
Mew smiles, "Thanks Wobbuffet, you're so sweet."
But Jessie pushes Wobuffet down, "Get back in your Pokéball, you blathering blue...:"
Behave yourself, you!" Jamess.
Jessie fully pushes Wobbuffet down, "Ahem."
And soon they begin to perform the Team Rocket motto. As usual.
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation!
James:
To unite all people within our nation!
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie.
James:
James.
Jessie:
We're Team Rocket, blasting off at the speed of light!
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Wobbuffet:
Wobbu...! ("THAT IS...")
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
"How about a demonstration?" Jessie says.
Then turns to James, "Show our little friends how the Power Picker works, James."
"Sure!" James says and activates the machine.
That pulls Pikachu and Eevee into the machine.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew cries out.
"Hello there," James says.
Jessie and Meowth cheer, "We picked us a Pikachu and Eevee!"
Then Mew calls out, "Go, Bulbasaur! Go, Chikorita! We can't let them take Pikachu and Eevee away!"
Both grass Pokemon step forward
"We're not giving Pikachu and Eevee up without a battle!" Jessie says and throws her Pokeball to call out, "Go, Arbok!"
And Arbok comes out of the Pokeball.
James does the same, "Come on, Victreebel! We can't let em beat us!"
Victreebel appears behind James, but tries to eat him instead, again.
"I said beat us, not eat us!" James cries out.
Jessie calls out, "Go, Arbok! Use your Poison Sting attack!"
Arbok fires the attack.
Mew calls out, "Quick, Totodile, use your Water Gun!"
Totodile fires the attack, overpowering the Poison Sting and nailing Arbok.
"Now, Cyndaquil, use your Flamethrower!" Mew calls out.
Cyndaquill then launches the attack, and burns the strap holding Pikachu and Eevee onto James' back, freeing them both
"Pikachu! Eevee! Are you both okay?" Mew asks in relief.
"Pika! ("I'm great!") Pikachu answers.
Then Mew says, "Let Team Rocket have a big Thunderbolt attack!"
Pikachu and Eevee launch the attack, causing an explosion to send Team Rocket flying.
Team Rocket cries out, "Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
"There they go!" Mew says.
"Eevee!" (Bye Bye!) Eevee says.
Soon, Bulbasaur and Swkovet spot the rest of the fruits.
"What's the matter, guys?" Tomo asks.
"Lotta! (Lots of apples!) Meloetta says.
Tomo looks to see for himself, "Whoa! Look at all that fruit! Wait till the others see this!"
Meanwhile, Brock's having another fever dream
"Beautiful! What could be nicer than a beautiful sky?" Brock happily says.
Just like the last dream, some ladies appear behind Brock.
"Now I know! This is a million times nicer than just a beautiful sky!" Brock happily says, and decides to run over, "Here I come ladies!"
However, Brock falls through the clouds.
"I'm falling! Help, girls! Somebody, please, save me!" Brock cries out.
Brock soon falls out of bed before snapping out of his dream.
"Save me!" Brock cries out.
"Okay, but what are we saving you from?" Mew questions.
"Ash, Misty, where am I? Where did all the girls go?" Brock asks, surprised.
"Mew and I are the only girls here, Brock," Misty replies.
"Are you sure you're alright?" mew asks.
"Oh, yeah. I'm just fine," Brock says, and sits up on the side of the bed.
Here, Brock. Nice juicy apples for you," Mew says, and presents some apples.
"Wow, this looks delicious," Brock says, and eats a piece.
But it gets some caught in his throat)
"Take it easy, Brock! Nobody's gonna take that apple away from you," Mew says.
"Guess I'm kinda hungry," Brock says.
Then Misty says, "Hey, Brock. If you have your appetite back, you must be getting better."
"That's right, but just to be safe, you both might as well take a nice, long afternoon snooze," Mew says.
"Yeah, and this time I'm gonna run a lot faster and catch those girls!" Brock says.
Mew and Misty become confused.
"What girls are you talking about?" Misty asks.
"It must be the fever talking," Brock says.
Tomo, Jen, and Molly hear it from outside and giggle in reply.
Outside of the cabin, Tomo places a piece of wood on the stump. Then his Umbreon uses Cut to chop it in half. Meloetta does the same and Umbreon chops the wood in half.
Mew is in charge of cooking dinner, "Let's see. According to Brock's recipe, I should add one tablespoon of sugar…" Pikachu then pulls the sugar over.
"Thank you, Pikachu," Mew says.
Then Mew measures the sugar and puts it in the pot. Then Mew begins to stir it.
"And then, add a few punches of salt," Mew says, and put the salt in the soup.
Soon, Chikortia and Bulbasaur arrive with the bowl of chopped vegetables.
"Thanks," Mew says.
Mew smiles and says, "I love cooking.
Sometime later, Mew has finished with the soup, and it looks good.
"Looks good, Mew," Misty says.
"Thank you," Mew says, and pours portions in the bowls for the others.
Soon, everyone begins to have the soup.
"Yum, this tastes good, Mew," Tomo says.
"It's delicious," Jen says.
"Thanks, but I'm still no match for Brock's cooking. Plus, this is Brock's recipe," Mew says.
"Still, I think you're doing really well," Misty says.
Mew blushes, "Thank you." She then sits down and begins to eat her soup.
Later that night.
"Okay, guys! We're all sleeping outside tonight," Mew calls out.
"That's right, Brock will get a better rest if they don't have anybody disturbing them," Misty says.
The Pokemon agrees.
Soon, everyone lies down in their sleeping bags.
"Now I know why Brock's so beat. He works really hard," Tomo says.
"I don't know how he does it all," Misty says.
"Doing all of Brock's chores gave me a new form of appreciation for him, after all before having us, he had to help raise 10 siblings on his own and run a Pokemon gym," Mew says.
"We should be more grateful for the things he does," Jen says.
"You're right about that, girls," Misty says.
"Night everyone," Mew says.
Misty and the others say, "Night."
Soon, everyone begins to drift off to sleep for the night. Unaware that Team Rocket is spying on them.
"Dey'll be asleep soon. And when dey are, we'll swipe Pikachu and Eevee," Meowth says.
"But we'll have to be quiet," James says.
And they hear Jessie laughing.
Meowth turns to Jessie, "Hey, pipe down back dere, will ya?!"
"Jessie, we're about to capture their Pikachu and Eevee!" James says.
"Well, we shouldn't do it on an empty stomach," Jessie says.
They soon look to see the leftover soup Mew has made.
"Look at what I found on that table. I can't believe they left all this perfectly good food go to waste. Bratty young kids today have no appreciation for things," Jessie says.
James and Meowth soon bring out a spoon soon after
"Maybe, but we surely do," James says.
"Let's dig in, shall we?" Meowth does the same.
When they take a bite, their eyes sparkle.
"It's delicious," Meowth says.
"Yeah. Why let this good food go to waste?" James asks.
"Maybe it's just their leftovers after having second helpings or something" Jessie says.
She then takes more bites, "More for, us then. This, is a, perfect blend of sweet and sour flavors that tickle, tease and tantalize the trembling taste buds. This is surely the work of a bold, creative and innovative genius."
James and Meowth agree and continue to eat the soup
Wobbuffet soon comes out, "Wobbuffet," (I'd like some!)
"Here. Taste," Jessie says, offering some to her Pokemon.
Wobbuffet tries some and smiles with glee.
Meowth says, "Maybe once we're done eating we can concentrate on our Pikachu and Eevee plan?
"What plan?" Jessie and James asks, confused.
"We don't have one yet, but we gotta think of a way to get Pikachu and Eevee without waking up the other Pokemon," Meowth says.
"Why not wake the others up and take them somehow, too?" James suggests.
"Hey, good idea," Meowth says, liking the idea, "We can give Pikachu and Eevee to the boss and sell the rest to make some nice spending money."
"You're right! Then we can buy a big orchard somewhere and get back into the apple business and make another bundle!" Jessie says.
"Wobbuffet!" (Real good plan!) Wobbuffet agrees.
Suddenly, the Pokemon begins to hear Mew's voice, "Hey, friends, wake up."
They soon wake up to see Mew in the bushes, "Come over here and let's play. I just found some food we can eat, too. Hurry up, but be real quiet."
Unknown to them, it's a Mew puppet made by James and Meowth controlling it with Jessie using a megaphone to imitate Mew's voice.
The Pokemon looks up to see the others asleep. Not suspecting a thing, Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquill walk over. Bulbasaur rushes after them, suspecting something amiss.
"That's right, come to your friend, Mew," Jessie continues.
And right when they get close enough, a net comes out and ensnares them all.
"Now we got a bunch of their Pokemon!" James and Meowth cheer.
However, Misty wakes up, "What's all the racket about?"
Mew and the others wake up and spot Team Rockets.
Jessie starts off, "Prepare for trouble, sleepyheads!"
"Don't make it double, just stay in your beds!" James says.
"Oh, no. It's you again," Misty.
Sparkle calls out, "Pi Pikachu!" (It's Team Rocket!)
Then Meowth comes out, "Quiet! What are yours two starting the motto for? You woke em up and we ain't even got Pikachu and Eevee yet!"
"Guess we messed up," Jessie and James say, realizing their mistake.
"Wobbuffet." (We did?!) Wobbuffet replies.
James turns to their catch, "But the assortment we have is more than satisfactory!"
Mew is shocked, "They got Bulbasaur and Chikorita!"
"Cyndaquil and Totodile, too!" Misty exclaims.
Jen shouts, "Give them back!"
Team Rocket makes their getaway.
"You're probably too tired to chase us!" Jessie says.
"Our plan' woiking beautiful," Meowth says.
"They're getting away!" James says.
"Get back here!" Mew shouts and chases after them.
Meanwhile, Brock has yet another fever dream.
"Beautiful! What could be nicer than a clear, blue sea?" Brock happily says.
Once again, ladies appear behind Brock.
"Now I know! This is a million times nicer than a clear, blue sea could ever be! Here I come ladies!" Brock says and chases after them.
Soon, a giant wave crashes onto Brock.
"This isn't a beautiful dream, this is a nightmare!" Brock cries out.
Brock soon wakes up and Golbat and Pineco tell him what's wrong.
What's wrong, Golbat? Is something the matter?" Brock asks.
Golbat points to the window to see some of the gang and the Pokemon run out to the woods.
"I bet it's, Team Rocket," Brock suspects.
And he's right, Team Rocket are running away with their catch.
"Just a little further!" Jessie says.
"Hey!" Mew calls out.
"Eevee!" (Hold it!) Eevee calls out.
Even Pikachu shouts, "Pika Pikachu!" (Come back here!)
Team Rocket hops over a patch of grass, and Ash and Misty find out the hard way that it's a pit.
"I can't believe they tricked us again! Are you guys okay?" Mew says.
"I'm okay," Molly says.
"We're fine," Misty says.
Team Rocket laughs in triumph as they're seen flying above with the captured Pokemon underneath.
"Tricked by our trap again, heroes!" Jessie says.
"I like that a "hole" lot!" James adds.
And then Meowth says, "Ain't it just great when we're up in the air and dem dopes is way down in the doit?"
"Come on, let's go, James," Jessie says.
"Roger," James agrees.
James activates the controls and captures the other Pokemon, but they're kind of heavy.
"These Pokemon are weighing us down!" James says.
"Den let's start up the engine," Meowth replies.
The engine starts up, giving the balloon more lift.
Team Rocket laughs and shouts, "Bye-bye!"
The Pokemon that haven't been caught shout, "Stop it!"
"Come back here, or else you'll regret it!" Tomo shouts.
"We're not gonna let you get away with taking our Pokemon!" Jen adds.
"We'll see about that," Meowth says.
Soon, mechanical claws capture Pikachu and Eevee.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew cries out.
Soon, they're both placed in glass cases.
"How's dat grab ya?" Meowth says.
Pikachu and Eevee try to shock their way out, but to no avail.
"Aren't shock-proof materials simply wonderful?" James says.
Then Jessie says, "We finally executed the perfect plan! They're the losers and we're the winners at last!"
"Only one thing could make this better, a perfectly executed getaway," James replies
"Wobbuffet!" (Like right now!) Wobbuffet points out.
"Take care, twerps!" Meowth says.
"Come back! Come back here!" Mew shouts.
Suddenly, Golbat comes flying in and rips a hole in the balloon with its fangs, causing Pikachu and Eevee's cases to fall out of the balloon.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew calls out, and catches the case.
Meanwhile Team Rocket's balloon crashes, allowing the captured Pokemon to go free.
"Look, everybody's okay!" Mew says.
"Thank goodness!" Misty says.
"Better thank Golbat, too," Brock says.
Everyone looks behind to see Brock holding Pinco, "Hey, Brock is back!"
"That was excellent, Golbat!" Brock says.
Just then, Jessie says, "Just you wait! This isn't over! Arbok, go!" and Arbok comes out.
James does the same, "Let's go, Weezingl! Get ready to battle!"
Weezing pop in
Brock calls out, "Pineco, Golbat, battle em back with a two on two attack!"
Both Pokemon charge and nail Arbok and Weezing and are flying back to Team Rocket.
Then Brock calls out, "It's your turn, Onix! Rock Throw attack!"
Onix then uses the weight and power to cause a shower of rocks to fall toward Team Rocket.
Mew then calls out to Pikachu and Eevee, "You know what to do!"
Pikachu and Eevee then use Thunderbolt attack, and send Team Rocket flying.
Team Rocket cries out, "We're blasting off again!"
"WOBBU!" (WHY US?!) Wobbuffet cries out.
"You did it again, Pikachu and Eevee!" Mew says.
"A good battle makes you feel better," Brock says.
"Thanks for helping us, Brock. You saved the day," Misty says.
"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Pineco and Golbat," Brock says.
The next day, everyone wakes up.
"Morning," Misty says.
"Good morning," Mew says.
Tomo and the other girls say, "Morning.
Soon, they all smell something.
"Hey, what's that?" Tomo asks.
"Smells delicious," Jen says.
Everyone turns to see Brock and happily says, "Morning, Brock!"
"Good morning, guys!" Brock says. "Does anybody feel like a little breakfast?"
And soon enough, everyone is enjoying breakfast.
"Brock, this oatmeal's even tastier than usual!" Mew says.
"I agree!" Jen says.
"And there are apples in it, yummy," Molly says.
"Thanks, it's from an extra special recipe," Brock says.
"It seems like you're almost back to your old self again," Misty says.
"I was feeling all knocked out yesterday, but today I'm getting back in the ring!" Brock says.
"I don't know, Brock. Maybe you should think about sitting out this round," Mew says.
The Pokemon agree.
"Yeah, Brock. We don't want you to get a fever again," Misty says.
"Okay, I'll take a nap when we're done eating," Brock says.
He lets out a sign and says, "Maybe I'll catch those dream girls."
Tomo and the girls look at Brock with confused expressions.
And with that, everyone continues having their breakfast. Despite the hitches yesterday, they had a good day. And soon, they'll head to Olivine City where Mew hope to earn her next badge and another step closer to the Johto League.
Later, Brock is dreaming again and nears his prize before we see him sleep talking while Pineco and Golbat watch over him.
"Please don't wake me up," Brock says in his sleep.
