Scaling up the skies of Tokyo Bay loomed a tall tower that housed the Elite Four. It's structure represented the totalitarian rule of Satsuki Kiryuin, that she was superior to those beneath her.
At the top resided the Honnōji Academy Student Council Meeting Room, the stomping grounds of Honnōji's finest, the Elite Four. They were known as the fiercest, most powerful, absolutely insane students to ever grace the grounds of the school.
The meeting room is not like most though, with the chairs consisting of luxury small couches and a small but expensive looking coffee table. Across the table are small steps leading up to a separate chair facing a holographic projector. This seat in particular is reserved to the Student Council President, Satsuki Kiruyin.
Seated in the top right is the Head of the Non Athletic Committee, Nonon Jakuzre, with Ira Gamagori seated across from her as he is the Head of the Disciplinary Committee. Next to him is President of the Athletics Committee, Uzu Sanageyama, and seated across him is the Information and Strategy Chairman Houka Inumuta.
These four individuals hold the most control over the student body, barring their leader Lady Satsuki. And here they sit, plotting their next move against Ryuko Matoi.
"THIS IS SO DAMN BORING! UA just HAD to take away our only fresh punching bag!" Sanegeyama flopped back into his chair, fuming over the dullness of the academy.
"Cool your jets, you North Kanto monkey. It's not like you're the only one who wanted a crack at the new girl," Jakuzre snickered.
"I'm sure Lady Satsuki has her reasons for signing off on the program, do not question her motives," Gamagori chimed in as Satsuki's butler, Mitsuzō Soroi, prepared more tea for the group.
Inumuta's chair swiveled away from his computer and towards Satsuki.
"If I were to guess, you're probably wanting to snuggle up to UA High and take them down along with those schools in the Kansai region at some point. But I'm still trying to see the bigger picture here," Inumuta said.
Satsuki took a sip of tea before setting her cup gently upon the china plate on her arm rest.
"You're half right, Inumuta. Though I have bigger plans than that," the Kiryuin heiress replied, a smile creeping onto her lips. "All will become clear in due time."
"Then I have a request," Sanageyama stood up, with Satsuki leaning her head down to face one of her four most trusted allies.
"What is it?" Satsuki asked.
"Let me go fight Matoi."
The other three members of the Elite Four jumped into action, protesting their comrade's sudden challenge.
"And what makes you think you'll be able to get past their world-famous barrier? How do you think you'll manage to get back here if you fail?" Satsuki inquired
Sanageyama smirked, not believing there was so little faith in him.
"I know the consequences of failing, though sitting around here all day is just going to dull my senses."
"Satsuki! You're not just going to le-" Jakuzre stopped dead in her tracks as Satsuki stood up and walked over to her elites.
"Very well. You know the consequences of failure and I expect you'll find your way back here with a report on the fight. You may leave to fight her tomorrow. Though you better hope she doesn't accept the option to remain there as a student for the entire school year before you fight her."
"M'lady!" Inumuta and Gamagori gasped while Jakuzre's jaw dropped.
"Thank you, Lady Satsuki. You won't be disappointed," the athletic committee chair bowed.
…
Ryuko's second day at UA began with a fresh early morning of a normal core class, English. Quite an exciting follow up to the eventful assessment test. Why did this seem so familiar?
'So boring.'
'This really sucks.'
A handful of students were just phoning it in, anxiously waiting for the real action to come. One of the waiting students was Ryuko, who was slumping into her desk.
"Man, and here I thought I could skip these classes. I've got better things to do," she muttered under her breath.
"Well you are a seventeen year old girl, Ryuko. It's best to know these things to prepare for what you'll be doing after school. From what I know, you don't have any career plans for the future," Senketsu reminded the teen.
Ryuko scoffed quietly before glancing at Deku, seeing how focused he was on the academics. She partly remembered that he was always in constant thought, no matter what the scenario was. She envied him in a way, since she would almost always listen to her gut.
Afterwards, lunch period had come around. Ryuko is then introduced to a completely different kind of scenery as there is now a dedicated cafeteria, as opposed to just eating practically anywhere on Honnōji's campus. It's loud, but it felt a lot less isolating than the hollow vibe of the madhouse that was her prior school.
It also introduced Ryuko to the idea that heroes could be based off of ANYTHING. There she caught sight of Lunch Rush, the Cooking Hero.
"Man. there's a quirk for everything, huh?" Ryuko stared at her food and back at the culinary hero. She cautiously took a bite of the white rice and perked up once its texture touched her taste buds.
"Oh wow, it's good!" Ryuko exclaimed as she took another bite.
"White rice is the perfect comfort food, isn't it?" Lunch Rush asked as he happened to be inspecting the table that Ryuko, Izuku, Iida, and Uraraka were occupying.
"Wait. is he a human or...?" Ryuko wondered.
"This has me wondering, is there perhaps a hero that specializes in clothing?" Senketsu piped up, now curious about the possibilities of clothing heroes.
"That would be crazy. Though, I think I know the person to ask if that's the case," Ryuko chuckled as she glanced at Deku, who was visibly fanboying over Lunch Rush.
Once lunchtime was over, the afternoon was where the real work began. Hero Basic Training.
"I AM HERE! COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO!" All Might announced as he posed within the open door frame of the classroom.
Nearly all of the students gasped, excitement filling their very being. Ryuko definitely was someone who was surprised by his appearance.
"Whoa, he's even bigger in person, compared to on TV," Ryuko remembered seeing footage of him on television whenever she was hanging out with the boys back then. Izuku surely loved him back then, and still does, as she can see him leaning forward to focus on the hero.
"Welcome to the most important class at UA High. Think of it as 'Hero-ing 101.' Here, you will learn the basics of being a pro. And what it means to fight in the name of good! Let's get into it. Today's lesson will pull no punches!" The number one hero triumphantly declared as he whipped out a card with the word Battle on it while striking a pose.
"Fight training," Bakugo snarled with a devilish grin.
"Real Combat?" Izuku said with a sense of worry.
"But one of the keys to being a hero is... LOOKING GOOD!" Pointing towards the wall, All Might presented the students' new hero costumes as they unveiled from the panels opening.
"These were designed for you, based on your quirk registration forms and their requests you sent in before school started."
The students gasped together and began cheering. They couldn't wait to see how their designs were brought to life.
"Costumes!" Izuku also joined in on the hype.
"Costumes already? Not going to lie, I'm curious to see what they've got," Ryuko expressed her own sense of enthusiasm.
"As am I," Senketsu pitched in.
"Get yourselves suited up, and then meet me at Training Ground Beta!" All Might dismissed the class before they each took their suitcase and wasted no time making their way to the locker rooms.
Ground Beta, the same makeshift fake city that was used during the entrance exam for admittance to the hero course. Its purpose of use was in the form of another test for the fledgling heroes to take on. All Might stood in front of the entranceway, waiting for all of the new hero students as they made their debut, with Ryuko walking alongside them.
"Ryuko."
"Yeah?"
"Let's try something. Wear me during the entire Battle Trial. I believe wearing me for longer periods of time will improve your stamina and decrease the likelihood of you passing out," Senketsu instructed.
"Sounds like a plan. Plus, it'd be cool to make a first impression. Hope the others don't mind," Ryuko gritted her teeth in a grin as she tugged on the pin in her Sekki Tekko. Within the dark hallway, All Might saw a bright light emerge, giving a quick flash of the students that shined throughout the entire tunnel.
"Oh? I'm on pins and needles here!" His anticipation grew as he got a brief glimpse of what was to come.
Ryuko was the first to step out into the light, already in full synchronization mode. A smile was plastered on her face as she made her entrance and took the spotlight. Bakugo murmured in the back, still having a bone to pick with her.
"They say that clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen, as well as presentation. And behold, you are the proof!"
Behind Ryuko emerged the other students, all in their glory. The crowd of students burst with bright colors, which shone in All Might's eyes. There was such creativity in the variety of their costumes. Everyone was unique, which settled a bright future for the next generation.
"Take this to heart. From now on you are all... HEROES IN TRAINING!"
"Wow. Look at all of these outfits. These guys sure don't mess around," Ryuko whispered, impressed seeing the variety and creativity of the designs.
"I'm interested to know what they'd be like with Goku Uniforms," Senketsu quipped.
"This is getting me all revved up. You all look so cool! Now, shall we get started, you buncha newbies?" The number one hero exclaimed in excitement. The Battle Trial was about to begin.
Just a moment later, Izuku finally emerged from the dark tunnel in his hero costume that he donned proudly. It was a fairly simple green unitard with guards around his elbows and knees, and white stripes extending along his shoulders and limbs. It was not too flashy or anything, but it was a gift from his mother. He took that act of kindness to heart.
"Whoa, Izuku, is that you? Man, what a cool suit! The support team really knocked it out of the park," Ryuko said as she walked up to Izuku.
"Huh? Oh, thank you Ryuko! But, my mom actually made this for me-oop!" Izuku covered his mouth, his cheeks growing red under the mask as he had a closer look at Ryuko in her full synchronization. Which meant he could see her... body more clearly.
"Ah! Hey! Deku! Matoi!" Uraraka called out and jogged over to the two.
"Hey Uraraka!" Ryuko responded.
Before Izuku knew it, two girls were talking to him at once. Not only did that start overloading his mind, but he also had to take into account what they were wearing.
"I should've been more specific about what I wanted. This bodysuit is skin-tight! Not my style," Uraraka rubbed the back of her head, clearly embarrassed.
"That makes two of us then," Ryuko cracked up, the two girls then laughed together.
Izuku was sent into an incoherent muffled screaming mess. He was cornered by a teenage boy's fever dream: Uraraka's suit hugged her form tightly, showing off her curves, while Ryuko's suit barely covered her up, which allowed Izuku to see the toned definitions of her body up close.
'Strong... Wait-no! Get a hold of yourself, Izuku! Cease these disobliging thoughts!'
Izuku's emotions were just scorching around like wild flames, to the point his vocabulary would evolve.
"Izuku? Hey, Izuku?" Ryuko tried to get his attention before she realized why he was so dumbfounded.
"Ah, Damn it, Izuku."
"Something wrong, Ryuko?" Uraraka asked.
"Nothing," Ryuko blurted out, a hue of red appeared on her face.
"Now that you're ready, it's time for combat training," All Might announced, which grabbed everyone's attention. The instructions were simple, the class would be split into two teams of two, heroes and villains fighting indoors, the hero team being tasked to capture a weapon while the villains had to protect it. The teams were then decided by drawing lots.
Team A ) Izuku Midoriya & Ochako Uraraka
Team B) Shoto Todoroki & Mezo Shoji
Team C) Momo Yaoyorozu & Minoru Mineta
Team D) Tenya Iida & Katsuki Bakugo
Team E) Mina Ashido & Yuga Aoyama
Team F) Rikido Sato & Koji Koda
Team G) Kyouka Jirou & Denki Kaminari
Team H) Tsuyu Asui & Fumikage Tokoyami
Team I) Mashirao Ojiro, Toru Hagakure, and Ryuko Matoi
Team J) Ejiro Kirishima and Hanta Sero
"It appears that we have an uneven amount of students here to fit the teams. No problem! Who dares to endure this rigorous training twice and volunteer to be on two teams?" All Might proposed.
Bakugo smiled, feeling that this would be an opportunity to show off more of his skills and bust some heads. Before he could say anything, Ryuko vouched to go.
"I'll go. Senketsu here suggested that I try to stay in synchronization mode longer to build my stamina. This will be great exercise for that," Ryuko confidently volunteered herself as she did some stretches.
The nearby students were surprised at how willing she was, while Katsuki scoffed at her, not particularly happy about being shown up again.
Considering her skill tree from the Quirk Assessment Test, Ryuko was placed to join teams I and G, giving her the positions of both Heroes and Villains. Once that was settled, All Might began drawing what teams would duel.
"I declare that the first teams to fight will be… THESE GUYS!" All Might raised two balls in his hands, one engraved with the letter A, and the other with D. Izuku and Bakugo's eyes widened in shock upon seeing this.
"Team A will be the heroes, Team D will be the villains," All Might instructed.
The other students didn't notice, but Izuku began dripping beads of sweat out of his cowl that could match the weight of bowling balls. He cautiously turned his gaze, only to find that Bakugo caught him by surprise with a deathly glare. Izuku retreated by turning away, but Bakugo did not release his gaze on him.
Izuku was quaking, sent into a brief moment of panic. But he then tightened his fists, remembering why he was here, and who was supporting him. Showing resolve, Izuku straightened himself up and defiantly stared right back at Bakugo, which definitely surprised the explosive boy.
The rest of the students were informed to meet in the monitoring room to spectate the fights while All Might would give additional instructions to the participating teams. Izuku and Uraraka had a brief recess to look over the map of the building while Bakugo and Iida had entered and waited.
"So this is the weapon we must protect. Fake, of course," Iida acknowledged as he approached the large decoy missile and tapped it a couple times.
"Hey!"
Iida turned his attention to the voice that called to him.
"Do you really think Deku has a quirk?" Bakugo asked while facing away from Iida.
"You saw how he threw that ball. Though I think his power hurts his body."
"Tch."
"Frankly, I don't think you have the right to get in on his privacy. Why is it that you seem especially angry at Midoriya? To the point of belittling him with a nickname? From what I had heard, you two were childhood friends," Iida pressed a bit. He had a bit of disdain towards Bakugo after what he was told by Midoriya and Ryuko.
"Maybe you should learn to follow your own advice. It's none of your damn business," Bakugo reprimanded, anxiously waiting for the moment he could let loose and attack Deku.
Iida sighed, seeing that he wasn't going to get through to Bakugo. In the end, they were teammates and he had to stay focused. He couldn't risk jeopardizing the trial just because of bad blood. Besides, Iida knew that it wouldn't be fair to Midoriya and Uraraka if he held back just for the sake of their friendship. They'd want him to give it his all.
While Izuku and Uraraka looked over the map, the bubbly brunette noticed that Izuku had cold feet, particularly from the fact she could see that he was sweating right out of his costume.
"Are you worried about Bakugo?" Uraraka asked, startling her partner.
"Umm, well… He's got an amazing quirk and packs a punch. It's going to be hard to go up against him and Iida's speed," Izuku analyzed aloud.
Uraraka gave him a sympathetic look, though she started to grin, fist bumping his arm to grab his attention.
"No matter if he's amazing or not, we're still going to win this. Show him what you're really made of, Deku," she cheerfully declared, with the green-haired boy smiling under his mask.
The two talked things through and tried to strategize a few more minutes before All Might started the first match.
Ryuko watched intensely on the monitor as Izuku and Uraraka entered through the window. Izuku was being as careful as possible, proving to be an efficient leader as he would check corners to make sure they were safe before telling Uraraka to move with him. So far so good…
...That was until Bakugo burst straight out of the corner, lunging at the two with an explosive right hook. Izuku pushed into Uraraka, just barely directing her away from the blast. Half of his mask was ripped as a result.
"What's the matter, Deku? Scared to stand up and fight me?" Bakugo challenged as he blew away the smoke, putting himself in clear view of his opponents.
Bakugo charged Izuku again, preparing another right hook that Izuku anticipated right away. He snaked his hands around the large grenade-like gauntlet and grabbed onto the blonde's arm, locking it in his grasp. Bakugo didn't have a moment to react before Izuku slid his feet over and began lifting him over his shoulder. The Greenette roared as he performed a judo throw, slamming Bakugo's back into the hard floor.
The students along with All Might gasped at the sudden turn of events. Ryuko herself expressed a level of surprise, but followed up with a sly smile as she watched Izuku stand against Katsuki.
"You can call me Deku, but I'm not the same helpless, defenseless kid anymore! You hear me?! I've changed! FROM NOW ON, DEKU'S THE NAME OF A HERO!" Izuku's defiant battle cry echoed throughout the halls, making their mark in the ears of those within vicinity.
Uraraka stood and watched, her eyes beaming as she remembered when they first talked about that name. As Uraraka reinforced positivity in such a negative name, she saw the bright and hopeful grin grow on Izuku's face. Seeing how much of an impact her words made on him made her heart skip a beat.
"Deku," Bakugo sneered as he got back up on his feet and into a fighting posture, which prompted Izuku into his own, but with clear visible fear.
"You're shaking in your boots, you're so scared. But you wanna fight me anyway," The blonde's hands erupted with miniature explosions.
"THAT'S WHY I HATE YOU!" Bakugo bellowed out in a full throttle of fury.
For the following moment, it can be seen that the blonde was talking to someone else. The other students couldn't quite figure out who he was talking to. All Might quickly caught them up to speed with the fact that each of the fighters had radios in their ears to communicate with one another.
Now that Ryuko knew this, she took one look at Iida to see that he was having spastic fit, probably out of frustration. She couldn't help but stifle a laugh. As much of a douche as Bakugo was, she did thank him for providing this reaction out of Iida.
All Might added that the fighters were given a roll of capture tape, which could be used to capture the hero or the villain and tag them out for the rest of the match. Ryuko stared up at the match timer, which showed how long the heroes had until they could apprehend the weapon.
Given that the heroes didn't know where exactly the weapon was, it made Ryuko wonder. Izuku had a lot of options to win, but at the same time, he didn't.
'What are you going to do, Izuku?' Ryuko thought to herself quietly.
"ALL TOGETHER!"
"LET'S HEAR A PLUS ULTRA!" The students and All Might shouted together as they raised their fists up proudly, minus the half iced student. Ryuko was the only one who didn't quite get the memo due to her pondering.
"Wait, wha...?" Ryuko looked around her, wondering why everyone had their hands up.
Bakugo shifted his left palm behind him, preparing for another attack. Izuku caught wind of this immediately and initiated the first step of his plan.
"Ah! Uraraka! Go!" Izuku called out before Bakugo blasted towards him, using the explosion's momentum to land a roundhouse kick. With forearms raised up to form a guard, Izuku blocked the kick while Uraraka made the dash to escape.
"Ballsy move! Think you can take me alone?" Bakugo mocked before he noticed Izuku beginning to wrap the capture tape around his ankle. To combat this, the blonde hastily threw a punch that Izuku predicted easily, aiding in his dodge from the explosion. Everyone watching was enamored by Izuku's agility and reaction time.
Moments later, Midoriya retreated into the halls to hide so that he could further formulate the plan that he had set in motion. Right now it seemed that Bakugo had gone rogue and completely forgot about Uraraka in this fight, which gave the heroes an advantage. He and Iida were not working as a team.
The plan he'd come up with earlier was simple: While he'd let Uraraka search for the weapon, Deku would then take on and intercept Bakugo on his own. Once it was done, he'd join her to capture the weapon in a two-on-one fight against Iida.
Uraraka carefully peeked around a pillar as she snuck around, finally finding Iida with the dummy weapon.
'Found it. Now I just have to tell Deku. And try my best to stay outta sight until he gets up here,' Uraraka acknowledged before she noticed that Iida began to take on a villainous persona, acting like the stereotypical bad guy you'd see on TV, included with the standard evil laugh!
Uraraka snickered, not being able to take him seriously at that point. This added to her detriment though as Iida immediately spotted her.
"Um, Deku?" Uraraka tapped into her radio.
"I'm here. How's it going?"
"Iida knows that I'm here. Sorry."
"Where are you?"
"Near the middle of the fifth floor," Uraraka called over the radio.
"Ah! Right above me!" Izuku looked up towards the ceiling and stood up with the capture tape in hand. He and Uraraka did not have much time left as 6 minutes were left on the counter. They had to finish this now.
Not too long after, Bakugo's gauntlets chimed, which caught Izuku's attention. He found him.
The blonde began pulling on the pin on his gauntlet, which would then trigger an explosion from the stored up nitroglycerin that he sweated. Upon hearing Bakugo explain how the gauntlets worked, All Might jumped into the radio immediately.
"YOUNG BAKUGO! DON'T DO IT! YOU'LL KILL HIM!"
Ryuko and the rest of Class 1A collectively gasp upon hearing All Might frantically ordering Bakugo to stop. Ryuko's heart began to race .
"He's trying to kill him?!" Ryuko shouted out of concern. She knew Katsuki was batshit crazy, but she didn't think he'd go this far.
"HE'LL BE FINE AS LONG AS HE DODGES!" Katsuki answered with a maniacal look in his eyes, completely pulling the pin, which released a winding explosion that practically engulfed the entire hall and made it crumble.
With very little room around him, Izuku narrowingly dodged the front of the blast as it blew a large hole out of the building. The force of the blast shook the whole structure along with the monitoring room.
"Come in! Come in, Midoriya!" All Might called out on the radio, trying to reach Izuku.
Ryuko bared her teeth and clenched her fists. Even when playing as a villain, Katsuki was stretching the line real thin with the boundaries of the trial.
'Dammit Katsuki! How far do you have to go to prove a damn point?!' Ryuko looked on in horror, her anger beginning to reach levels that were hotter than the sun itself.
"Calm down, Ryuko! Your blood is boiling beyond what it's supposed to be! Keep yourself in control, the last thing you need right now is to lose it," Senketsu said in attempt to soothe her anger.
"But-!" Ryuko tried to speak.
"This is a battle trial, no? That means that All Might will intervene when either student goes too far. So relax for now."
Ryuko took a breath as her anger began to dissipate, further calming her Kamui's nerves. She then looks towards Senkestu's eye, giving a knowing nod as it in turn blinks back. Both proceed to look back at the screen, hoping that Izuku made it out okay.
"And you need to trust Midoriya, too."
Ryuko snaps her neck back towards Senketsu with a startled look.
"I've only been in sync with you for a short while, but even I could tell there's a strong connection between the two of you. The way when you recognized each other almost immediately, most friends would never be able to do such a thing. And yet… the two of you did, so if you could do that then you can trust him in this fight."
Ryuko scoffs at her Kamui, with neither noticing the small blush developing on her face.
"Geez Senketsu, when ya word it all like that you make it sound all lovey dovey and crap. Seriously, where did ya get all that stuff from?"
Izuku grunted in pain as he struggled to pick himself back up. Bakugo on the other hand began to laugh like a maniac as he emerged from the smoke. Izuku's expression turned into one of perceived horror as he saw a psychotic grin extend itself to the corners of the blonde's eyes.
Meanwhile, Uraraka would continuously try to outmaneuver Iida and capture the weapon herself. Iida would counter her assaults by using his speed to grab the weapon and keep it out of reach. The odds were truly against the hero team.
Ryuko glanced over at All Might, anxiously wondering if he was actually going to step in before things got out of hand.
"Bakugo. Use that stored-up power again and I'll stop this fight. Your team will lose," The Number One Hero lectured Bakugo about the penalties. What neither of them knew was that Izuku continued to talk to Uraraka on the radio.
Bakugo raised his hands over his head, screaming out of frustration that he was now limited on what he was allowed to do.
"GRAAAH! FINE THEN!" Bakugo shouted before he lunged at Izuku.
"WE'LL FIGHT HAND-TO-HAND!"
Realizing that dodging was impossible, Izuku attempted to perform a counter attack by performing a right hook himself. Bakugo dodged by changing his trajectory with his explosions, maneuvering himself over the greenette before blasting him right in the back. He then followed up with a combo attack, swinging his gauntlet straight into Izuku's arm with full force, then finishing it by slamming him into the hard floor.
Everyone in the observation room watched in horror at the display of Bakugo's brutality toward the injured Deku. Ryuko was again in the mode of having to restrain herself from getting heated after seeing her childhood friend get beaten down.
Her gear-like gaze turned towards All Might like a steel door locked shut. He could have stopped this fight anytime, but he wouldn't. Ryuko sneered at him, which made the Number One Hero shiver without knowing why.
"He doesn't come off as a guy with a strategy, but he's actually quite intelligent."
Everyone looks at the stoic and concentrated half-iced face of Todoroki, the silent student now speaking.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Kirishima asked.
"He changed his trajectory while in midair using a blast that doubled as a smokescreen. Very clever," Todoroki complimented.
"A feint attack like that requires an extreme amount of precision. He had to calculate the physics and demonstrate control over his quirk," Said the female student with the large front bang.
"Ugh, Bakugo is uber talented. I hate it," Kaminari whined.
"Great, so he's a know-it-all and a jackass. The absolute worst," Ryuko added her disdain coldly.
Managing to get back on his feet, Izuku ran over towards the windows of the building, positioning himself for his last resort plan. Katsuki stomped his way over to the greenette to continue the fight.
"Why won't you use your damn quirk against me? Still think you can stop me without it?"
"That's not it."
"You've been hiding your true power for years. What's the deal, Deku?! Did you think you were better than me this entire time?!"
"That's what you think?"
Bakugo was absolutely relentless, both physically and mentally. He would not give Izuku a moment to process his thoughts, sabotaging any chance of formulating a plan. His patience was starting to wear out as the blonde continued to berate him.
"You idiot!" Izuku angrily remarked.
"You've always been stronger, Kacchan! I know that you're better than me! Can't you see?"
"THAT'S WHY I WANT TO BEAT YOU! BECAUSE YOU'RE AMAZING!" Izuku screamed at Bakugo.
"You're even more of an idiot than I realized."
"COME AT ME!" Bakugo bellowed back.
The two rivals charged in a full sprint to one another for their final showdown. Izuku's entire arm glowed with red veins, surging with the power of One For All. Bakugo's hand began sizzling with a similar glow. This was the final push.
"Sir, Bakugo's going to kill him!"
"Yo! Katsuki's going to kill him!"
Ryuko and Kirishima shouted out in unison in a desperate plea to their teacher. All Might struggled between having his protege grow from this experience, versus the potential for the harm that would follow if this match continued. He had to make a choice, and fast!
"YOU HAVE TO STOP THIS NOW! THEY'RE GOING TO KILL EACH OTHER!" Ryuko screamed at the Number One Hero, her voice even cracking in the process.
All Might's fist trembled as he could not let things go on any longer. He had to put an end to this now.
"Both of you, stop-!"
"URARAKA, NOW!" Izuku shouted, now putting his final plan into action.
"Right!" Uraraka then hugged a nearby pillar as instructed.
Izuku's running tears disappeared as he tightened his fierce gaze. This was it. His last resort.
'I can't beat you. Not in a one-on-one fight like this. BUT I CAN WIN!'
"SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSH!" Izuku swung his fist upward while taking Bakugo's explosion. The explosive force of his punch barreled through the concrete, absolutely shattering it while a HUGE gust of wind emerged out of the roof of the building.
Ryuko and the other students gawked at how much power Izuku possessed. Parts of the building were being broken down so fast, it was unbelievable.
Uraraka sprung into action, using her quirk to make one of the disembodied pillars float so that she could hold it.
"This is it! Sorry Iida!" Uraraka shouted before she reared the pillar back, preparing to strike.
"Improvised special move: The Comet Home Run!" She stepped into her swing with the pillar following through, connecting with the nearby floating debris and hurling them straight toward Iida. He would then bring his arms up, shielding himself from the impending danger. Though it turns out, none of them struck.
It was all a ploy to distract him so that Uraraka could jump past him. Making herself float, the brunette guided herself towards the rocket before clamping the tips of her fingers together.
"Release!" Uraraka shouted as she returned to normal gravity and wrapped herself around the weapon in a bear hug, securing the victory for the heroes.
"I got it!" The brunette proclaimed, a mixed expression of exhaustion and relief.
"NO! THE WEAPON!" Iida screamed like a theatrical villain.
Bakugo stared up at the remnants of the ceiling, gaping holes of concrete and flooring exposed where the force of the smash struck and even blasting through the rooftop. Izuku's punch went clean through the walls, even the sun was able to shine perfectly over the fight between himself and Bakugo.
"This was your big plan… from the very beginning, wasn't it?" A shell shocked Bakugo shook as he tried to fathom what was happening.
"You were playing me this entire time, you bastard," Bakugo's hatred seethed through his teeth, enraged at how fast the fight ended once Izuku actually began fighting back.
"I wasn't… going to use it…" Midoriya said as the smoke surrounding him began to clear and Bakugo grunted in a mix of shock and disgust.
"...Because I can't control it. My body just can't handle... the backlash of my power yet," a rattled Izuku continued on.
"Mr. Aizawa said I'd be useless. This was all I could think of… the only way I had a chance at winning."
Bakugo's eyes widened, the shock sinking in even more and the time ran out, Midoriya collapsing into a heap on the battered floor.
"THE HERO TEAM… WINS!" All Might called out through the PA system.
"What a weird way for this to end," the electric Kaminari said, the rest of the students gasping and adding their own two cents to what came through on the monitors.
"He did it," Ryuko whispered as she could only look at the devastation on the video monitor, both Uraraka and Izuku on the ground, and Iida and Katsuki unscathed. Ryuko practically gasped as she regained a bit of air. She wished she could feel a bit happier, only feeling an apprehensive wave of relief wash over her.
"Yes, though it came at a cost," Senketsu's eye narrowed as All Might headed over to Bakugo's location in the wrecked building.
The look of concern stuck on Ryuko's face. Izuku was practically battered and broken, all because of Bakugo. Her teeth clenched as she looked up at the screen, seeing the blonde act like a spoiled sore loser. Was his pride worth so much to practically kill another student, let alone a childhood friend?
To be continued…
Aduubo A/N: QnA time! Let's read some reviews! I will be very selective with selecting reviews going forward, since some could obviously be answered just by reading lol
Amaya-chan07 - Is Ryouko taller than Izuka, or is he taller than her?
Izuku is taller than her! But only by two inches! He is 166 cm while she is 160 cm!
KingLuxion - Not quite sure it makes sense that she transferred to right at the beginning of UA's school year. Especially since she's transferring from the middle of Honoji's school year.
You're right, and even Ryuko acknowledges that lol! But nah, Satsuki got rid of her after No Tardy's Day because she's petty like that. Also remember that Ryuko kinda just stormed the scene and was constantly transferring to multiple schools in the Kanto region anyway. So she could be at any school at any time she wanted.
Guest - How is this gonna work power scalling wise?
In the anime, Ryuko is legitimately powerful enough to even take on a version of Goku. But let's also remember that she was also getting her ass kicked by normal humans that have augmented abilities from Goku Uniforms. So if MHA characters were in the KLK-verse, they'd be massively buffed and even more powerful. Or if Ryuko was in MHA, she'd be scaled back a bit to fit. So it's more of a universal conversion scenario. We aren't making her significantly weaker here though.
Thanks for the reviews! Hope you enjoyed this week's chapter!
