-Monday, 7:40 a.m.-
The students of class 1-A sat in a bus that headed towards the train station, where they would embark on their internships. Midoriya sat beside Uraraka, while Matoi was on the other side of him. Jirou also sat beside her, and Iida being across from them all, keeping to himself.
"So, Ryuko, you didn't forget about the assignment, right?" Izuku whispered to the Kamui wielder.
"God, you're really gonna remind me, huh? And whoa, you sure it's safe to talk about that here?" Ryuko asked cautiously.
"Mhm, It should be fine! Cuz y'know…" Izuku pointed his thumb next to Ochako, who was trying to get as much sleep as possible before getting on the train. He then peered over to Jirou, who had her jack plugged into her phone.
The purplette saw Izuku and waved at him with a pleasant smile, which he reciprocated. She offered to let him listen with her other jack, but he kindly turned it down.
There was also a good amount of space around himself and Ryuko.
"See?" Izuku leaned back into his seat with a cheeky smile.
"You really think of everything, huh? Fine, fine. I'll ask Jeanist if I can use a computer somewhere," Ryuko rolled her eyes and chuckled.
Even when people were spread out in their seats, Izuku and Ryuko sat particularly close to each other. They were nearly shoulder to shoulder, but they didn't seem to mind. Given everything that they went through, there was always a sense of comfort whenever they were close.
Mina analyzed the two from a few rows down. Her mouth hung open and formed into a smile, her black eyes glistening. Did nobody else see the wholesome energy that was out in the open?
-8:00 a.m., Train Station-
"Real quick, do you all have your costumes?" Aizawa scanned the lineup and found everyone holding their suitcases, all except for Matoi. "Well, you're already wearing yours, Matoi."
"Let me remind you that you don't have permission to wear them yet. And don't lose them or anything."
"Gotcha!" Ashido chirped, holding her suitcase over her head.
"Speak properly. It's "Yes sir," Ashido," Aizawa quelled.
"Yes-"
"Yes Siiirrrr," Ryuko cut Mina off with a singsongy, goofy tone.
A good chunk of the class snickered at her joke, including Izuku. Obviously this didn't resonate with Shota.
"Watch it, Matoi," he said sternly.
"Okay, okay. C'mon, Ashido, we'll say it together," Ryuko patted the pinkette's back.
"Yes sir," they said in unison.
Aizawa sighed, but he wasn't as annoyed as he would have been before. After all the stress that his students went through the last few weeks, it was refreshing to see them so relaxed. But he still needed to keep them in line.
Once the lecture was done, everyone departed for their trips.
"So, Matoi. You're heading off to Tokyo, huh? Sounds like fun. I wish I could go again," Jirou shared her envy.
"Yeah. To be honest, I'm actually a little nervous," Matoi responded.
"What? About going to Tokyo by yourself?"
"Nah, I've done plenty of traveling alone before coming to UA. I just didn't think that I'd be scouted by the No. 4 hero."
"Tch, Don't get cold feet now. You kicked ass at the Sports Festival. He obviously chose you for a reason," Jirou said with confidence.
This helped ease the tension for Matoi, who smiled back. It was nice to get support from everyone.
"Iida, wait!" Izuku called out.
He and Ochako quickly approached Iida before he got on his train. Ryuko turned her attention to the group when she heard Izuku's voice. Following her eyes, Kyouka was also a witness to this.
"L-Look, if you ever want to talk or anything, just tell us," the greenette pushed.
"Mhm! Mhm!" Ochako nodded to back up his point.
"We're friends, right?" Izuku asked.
Tenya stood in place for a moment before turning to face his friends. While doing so, he could see that Ryuko's sights were on him as well. After their talk, it was a lot harder for him to try and blitz his way out of this.
"Yes, Midoriya. Of course, we are. I would never consider otherwise," Tenya said. There was shakiness in his voice which Izuku noticed right away.
That's enough, right? Iida reaffirmed that his well-being was at least stable. Something in Izuku wanted him to pull away and leave Iida be.
No. He was his friend. Uraraka, Ryuko, they all were. And they were more than willing to stand by Izuku whenever he was in trouble. Now he had to do the same.
"Okay. But, during our internships, I'll be checking up on you in our group chat. Please promise me that you'll get back to us. We're all in this together, Iida. I'm doing this because we care about you. And we want to be there for you."
Izuku extended his hand to Tenya with a stern look on his face.
"Can you do that?"
Tenya blinked a few times, surprised by the greenette's assertiveness. This was a face he rarely saw from him. A chill ran up his spine, but it also told him something. Izuku was serious.
Tenya's eyes moved over to Uraraka, who nodded again to assure that she was 100% on board with this. He then looked to Matoi. Once they made eye contact, she nodded too, as if she was encouraging him.
They all were paying attention. What Midoriya said, he was being absolutely truthful.
The speedster's hand tensed up, but he pushed forward and took Midoriya's hand.
"I promise. I'll be sure to let you guys know what I'm up to. Thank you, Midoriya."
Izuku smiled at Tenya, feeling proud that they finally took a step with sorting this out. They said their goodbyes before splitting up and walking to their destinations.
Matoi headed toward her train, seeing Katsuki going a car or two ahead before disappearing into the crowd.
"That's weird. Where's he headed?" the girl wondered.

-10 a.m., Tokyo, Best Jeanist Agency: Day 1-
Matoi hopped off the train, with Katsuki nowhere in sight. He must have already reached his stop somewhere before Tokyo.
"I still didn't think the city would be so crowded right now," Ryuko looked around the streets filled with people.
"It was busy during the Tanaka meet up, so I could imagine even now it would be bustling," Senketsu opined.
She almost forgot about Tanaka. For a fashion model, he really surprised her. Through all the makeup and fancy clothes, he was quite laid back and easy to approach. Tanaka was also an excitable kind of guy when it came to heroes, just like Izuku was.
Thinking about that made her giggle lightly. It was like he was there on the trip with her.
It wasn't too much longer until Ryuko would reach the agency. Best Jeanist couldn't have been a better pick for helping her advance.
"We're almost- Oh no."
Turning the street corner to head into Jeanist's office, she found Katsuki. At the front door.
"I have to deal with him for a whooole WEEK!?" Ryuko groaned.
"Who the-"
Katsuki stopped. Both of them were very unhappy at this point. The blonde turned away, choosing to wait at the door without saying anything to Matoi.
The girl sighed heavily. As much as she hated him, there was something bothering her that she needed to address. Ryuko calmly walked up to Katsuki, who only groaned out of annoyance when he heard her approaching footsteps.
"Listen, Katsuki. About our match at the Sports Festival, I just wanted to say-"
"Don't give me any of that sappy crap. I don't wanna hear it. It's nothing," Bakugo scoffed.
"Yeah, but still. It wasn't cool for me to do that after-"
"Shut. up. I said it was nothing," He snapped in her direction, making Ryuko back up a bit.
"What? Now what the hell's your problem? I'm trying to be fair and apologize!" she fired back.
"I don't want your fucking apology!"
"Why do you gotta be such a dick? This is the same shit you pull with Izuku, too!"
"Ryuko! Calm down!" Senketsu tried to distract the girl.
Before anyone could say anything else, the door to the agency opened and Best Jeanist stepped outside.
"I heard the commotion. Is something wrong?" The No. 4 hero asked.
His body was practically covered in denim. A long neck with his mouth and some of his nose hidden, with only his eyes and the top of his head peeking out. His hair was groomed nicely, very organized and relaxed.
"Oh, umm. Sorry, Best Jeanist. I'm Ryuko Matoi. It's a pleasure to meet you," Ryuko bowed to show her respect.
'But why did Katsuki have to be here?'
"Ah! I was wondering when you'd arrive. Welcome," he returned the courtesy before turning his attention to the person closest to him.
"And you must be Bakugo," Jeanist concluded, though with far less enthusiasm.
"Yeah," Bakugo bit his tongue.
"Please, come inside," he beckoned to his two interns. "We have much to discuss for today's work."
Without another word from either of the two teens, they followed Jeanist inside.
'I know Matoi is someone I'll need to keep an eye on this week. I wonder…'
Ryuko and Katsuki followed Jeanist over to his desk, where he promptly sat down.
"It's a pleasure that the top two performing students from the Sports Festival would choose my agency. I often try not to be biased and play favorites. But there's something I want to make very clear."
Jeanist turned his eyes over to Bakugo.
"Bakugo. I don't like you very much."
"Huh?" the blonde was befuddled. Ryuko's eyes widened with shock. Jeanist looked like the kind of guy that was proper and delicate. But he absolutely did not hold back when he said that.
"I know that you chose my agency because of my high status as the No. 4 hero."
"What? You're the one who put in an offer for me," Katsuki responded defensively.
"Yes. You stand out compared to all my other well-behaved recruits. You showed great talent at the Sports Festival; Your tenacity, and your wits. You'd make a fine sidekick."
"But," Jeanist raised his finger, which drew both teens' attention to it. "You do have one fatal flaw."
"You believe that you are the best, and you like to flaunt it with no regard to how it reflects on your public image. That is not the way of a hero. There are people that I find would be great examples that you should take after; All Might, Thirteen, and even Matoi."
"What?" Katsuki growled.
"Huh? M-Me?" Now Ryuko was confused.
"What makes her so special?"
"One thing we can agree on is that you both share similarities of being rash and hot-tempered," Best Jeanist noted before adding, "But Matoi is polite and a positive role model; from taking a stand for the Quirkless, to simply being respectful when greeting."
Ryuko looked down with a mild blush on her face. She didn't expect to get praise like this upfront. She was barely able to take Izuku's compliments and new signs of affection.
"What? Don't give me that crap. I don't need anything from Sha-"
Before Katsuki took one more step, he was completely bound by the many threads of cloth stemming from Jeanist's attire. His arms and legs were tied together in a tight knot, rendering him helpless.
"W-Whoa!" Ryuko exclaimed.
"Amazing! He barely moved and he restrained him," Senketsu commented.
"And he didn't even have to cut any piece of his clothes to make those," Ryuko added.
"Knowing your limits is one thing heroes need to know. Your recklessness will get you killed. I see now that my job is to correct people like you. By the time we're done here, you'll have the traits of a hero stitched into the fabric of your very being."
Jeanist then turned his attention to Ryuko.
"I hope you're paying attention, Matoi. I've given you praise, but there are a lot of things you need to learn as well. Do you understand?"
Ryuko swallowed hard. This pro was a lot more intense than she thought. She didn't know what he had in store for her. But Ryuko came here for a reason, and she had to see it through. She promptly nodded while furrowing her brows.
"Yes sir."

-10 a.m., Yamanashi Prefecture: Day 1-
For a guy who trained the greatest hero in Japan, and scared the living daylights out of him, Gran Torino seemed to have a few screws loose. Maybe that's what All Might was afraid of. He played dead on top of food to give a scare, and he constantly switched from acting like a senile old man, to an actual instructor. It was like the old man was toying with him. And Izuku was starting to lose his patience.
The greenette turned around, preparing to call All Might about returning to UA.
"Enough fooling around on my part," the elder hero spoke.
Izuku whipped his head back to see the old man cracking his neck and stretching.
"I saw you at the festival, kid. It seems you're further along than I originally thought. So we're going to quicken the pace."
"STOP!"
Gran Torino shuddered for a second, caught off guard by the suddenness exhibited by the ninth wielder.
"I was serious about making sure I didn't waste my time. I understand if you were trying to have fun with me a moment ago, but I need to know how you're really going to train me and One For All," Izuku stated firmly.
'How strange. Toshinori didn't mention much about his personality, but I didn't expect this,' Sokahiro internalized.
"Very well. Sorry if we got off on the wrong foot," the man apologized.
"We have a week to get you more polished using that Quirk of yours, and the training will be fierce. Are you ready to go at it with me one-on-one?"
"In here?" Izuku raised an eyebrow.
"Yep. I'm not crazy, kid. It's time to see how much control you have."
Without further warning, Torino blasted around the apartment in disorienting fashion before landing above the doorway. The graybeard stuck there, damaging some of the upper wall to keep himself perched.
"Let's see if you can land a hit on me. Ya ready, newbie?"
Midoriya's lips curved upward as he went up to 6% Full Cowling. Now this was more like it!
"Ready!"

-8 p.m., Best Jeanist Agency, Day 1-
Matoi kicked back on one of the office sofas at the Best Jeanist Agency. Aside from having to deal with the blonde bomber, it was a good first day for her internship. Though she sometimes felt the No. 4 hero could be a little heavy on the denim analogies.
Still, it was fun to see Katsuki be constantly hounded by Jeanist. He even had his hair remodeled, which she had to hold back her laughter so as not to cause a scene.
Everyone else among the sidekicks headed off elsewhere, with Bakugo going to his room.
"Sorry I didn't ask him about some of the stuff we talked about before arriving today, Senketsu."
"It's quite alright, Ryuko. There's still time to ask him what we're seeking here."
"I hate to interrupt whatever conversation you're having, but I was looking for a moment alone with you both," a voice echoed from the stairwell, with Jeanist emerging in his hero decor.
"Oh, umm, no. It's okay," Ryuko answered. "But you said you wanted to chat?"
Jeanist took a seat across from his intern, looking her dead in the eyes.
"I was amazed by your abilities at the Sports Festival. I could tell you didn't have a Quirk right away with how you kept going in and out of your "Sync Mode" if I remember right?" Jeanist noted.
"Yeah," the girl nodded.
"After you had chosen my agency, Principal Nezu and The Public Safety Commission reached out to me and offered some background on you. I only felt it fair that I disclose that to you now."
"Oh…" she trailed off, not sure if that was a good or bad thing.
"You certainly have the talent to make it as a hero," Jeanist said as Matoi perked up slightly.
"But given where we are now, the information I received also left me pondering something about you, Matoi."
The pro leaned back slightly, relaxing his posture so as to not put her on edge.
"From what I know, you're at UA to become strong enough to help in a grander fight. But assuming you stay on this hero track and aren't going to drop it once whatever you need to do is complete, I've wondered what would keep driving you. So my question is very simple: What is your goal as a hero? What do you want to do?"
"..."
Matoi still wasn't sure about that at all. It was only weeks ago that she arrived at UA, and if not for Izuku and the support she received from her friends and the staff, she probably would have opted to not exercise her option to remain at the country's most prestigious hero school.
But through all that, her goal had been to get stronger. Strength was the only thing she'd desired until recently. Something that Ichiro Tanaka said struck a chord with her.
"Honestly, heroes saving and protecting lives, willing to put their own on the line… It's just inspiring! I don't think I could do it, since I guess if I'm being selfish, I'm someone who just wants to live a long, happy life."
"That's funny, I was asked the same thing just before I got here. For a while there, I really didn't have one," the Kamui wielder started.
"It sounds like you do now. Care to share?" Jeanist asked.
"I met someone not that long ago. He's always thought of heroes being cool, but whether it was a matter of a Quirk or otherwise preventing him from going for that, they want to live a long, happy life. He said that the heroes saving and protecting lives while putting it all on the line was inspiring."
Her mind also flashed to Izuku, who gave her a reason to start down this path, and all he wanted to do. There was also what he did that almost snuffed his own dreams short.
"I see…" Jeanist mulled over Matoi's words.
"There's something else actually. Or rather, someone close to me who was always told he couldn't achieve his dream, that it was impossible. But now, he's doing it. He went from not controlling a power he desperately wanted to, with a more heroic heart than anyone, to finally being able to make a difference in the world. Heh. I guess you could say that seeing my friend happy and what that other person said…"
Ryuko paused, with Senketsu's eye peeking up to look at hers. What he saw was a form of resolve he hadn't seen from his partner before.
"I want to make sure I can be a reason people can be at ease and live long, happy lives after all that I've gone through in my hectic, chaotic and broken life. And I want to protect those who push their own limits too far for their own good. Ya know, looking out for the little guy."
The thread hero sat back, impressed by her answer. For someone just even thinking about joining the world of heroes given her circumstances, it seemed like she had a solid foundation.
"Those are very admirable goals, with some connected threads finally giving you a place to start. I see you put a lot of thought into it and I encourage you to not lose sight of that focus. If you keep your mind on that, I'm sure you'll become a great hero, Ryuko Matoi."
"Thank you, Best Jeanist," the girl blushed.
"As for some of your other goals, we can cover those tomorrow. For now, I encourage you to get some rest… However, there is one thing I need you to do for the remainder of this internship."
'Here we go!' Ryuko braced herself with an eye roll, knowing full well what he was about to say.
"Heroes need to work together to help keep the fabric of society sewn together. You and Bakugo definitely need to iron a few things out, that's a certainty," he said with a light chuckle, drawing a scoff from Ryuko.
"But that doesn't mean you need to be close to him either."
Matoi turned her attention back toward the pro, waiting to see what he'd say next.
"I won't pry, but it seems there's some things between you two that run a lot deeper. The kind of issues that will take a while to be resolved. For now, just try your best to cooperate with him. I'm not putting this burden on you alone, as he'll be getting the same message from me again tomorrow. Hopefully, even if it's just something small, you two can at least speak properly by the end of this internship."
Ryuko nodded at her current mentor, understanding exactly what he meant.
"Now, go get some rest. We have a lot of work to do tomorrow."
"Yes, sir."
Just as Jeanist was about to head up, Matoi called back out to him.
"Is something the matter?" The denim hero asked.
"Related to what we discussed about my background… I kinda need to write an essay before I return to UA. Any chance there's a computer and printer I can use around here?"
Jeanist chuckled, before turning foot.
"That shouldn't be an issue. Just let me know when you're ready and I'll get you set up."
..~~~HLK~~~..
-8 p.m., Gran Torino's apartment-
Pain. Just pure pain was all that Izuku could feel as he laid on the floor of the downtrodden apartment.
"Jeez, if I had known you'd be this terrible with your power, I'd have held back a bit during our scuffle," Gran Torino said as he sat on the defeated Midoriya's chest.
"Oooooooowwww…"
"Oh, don't be a baby, ya brat. Those were all love taps," Torino chided, getting up from his semiconscious seat.
"In what universe was that a love tap?" Midoriya groaned, getting up from the floor and dusting bits of granite from his body.
"So, now that you're nice and tenderized, how about you tell me what went wrong?"
"What do you mean? I've been using my power the best I can without breaking my body!"
Torino looked Izuku up and down, analyzing as the boy laid out his frustrations.
"Even with that, I still couldn't catch you. If I could crank it up, then, maybe. But even then, I have to deal with the potential kick back from One For All! I just need to find a way to use the higher percentag-"
"That's not the actual problem here, ya igit," Torino said, cutting off Izuku's ramblings.
The boy in question looked up from the floor, his face contorting to match his confusion from the man's sudden declaration.
"What do you mean that's not the problem? You were way faster than me, therefore I need the high output to catch up."
"Christ kid, you even got Toshinori's obliviousness, too. Think, brat! Is a higher output REALLY what you need?" Gran Torino challenged, hoping the boy's gears would turn.
"Is a higher output all that I need? Well yes, of course. Gran Torino was able to blitz past me over and over and I've barely able to catch him. So, what else am I missing? The only problems I've had with Full Cowling is the output and the stiff… ness."
The realization hit Midoriya like a pile of bricks. The answer was right in front of him the whole time and he couldn't see it… until now!
The whole point of this internship was to help improve his usage of Full Cowling. How could he improve when he couldn't move well enough as is?!
"Looks like you figured it out. About damn time if you asked me," Torino jeered, stifling through his pantry for snacks.
"It's true that you've managed to find a good point of One For All's control. But just because you can move, that doesn't mean you've got it down to a T. Your body shows it all, stiff movements, janky dodges, and don't get me started on your telegraphed attacks."
Midoriya soaked in all Torino had to say as the veteran pro pulled out a bag of wasabi chips from his pantry.
"So for now, you can forget trying to crank up the output. There's no use trying to gain more power when you have no true control of your current one."
"If that's the case, then what should I do? I can't just stay using 6% daily and somehow find a way to improve by the end of the week."
"Well I have a way, but it's a bit…unorthodox," Torino said, munching on the contents inside his bag of chips.
Izuku's head perks up, wanting to hear the suggestion.
"Wait, really?! You have a way to fast track it?!" Izuku exclaimed, interested in Torino's solution.
"Yeah, but I'm just gonna say this now, it ain't gonna be pretty. But before that, just a quick question."
Midoriya nodded his head, signaling Gran Torino to ask.
"How sore were you when you finished the Sports Festival? And I mean the day after when everything calmed down," Torino asked.
"How sore was I? Huh…"
Sore was an understatement. More like every inch he moved, his body felt like it was stretched like an elastic band. He was as stiff as a board and his muscles felt like torn pieces of paper. It took Ryuko carrying his body (while he was yelping in every step) to Recovery Girls office to finish up her treatment on him.
Apparently all those moves he did during his fight with Ryuko weren't something you should do when you had NO MARTIAL ARTS EXPERIENCE. His body wasn't trained to handle those types of techniques.
"Define sore?" Izuku quipped, having to remember his embarrassment of being carried to the nurses office.
"Oh boy, yep you're gonna hurt after this kid," Torino warned, chucking the empty bag of chips in the garbage can.
"From what I can tell that blonde dimwit trained your body like it was made for a bodybuilder. Now don't me wrong, it worked its magic and you can wield One For All, but that's not your body type. You're lean, lanky, and made for being more of a sprinter than your typical bruiser. That means what we need…is to make you more limber!" Torino concluded, leaving the greenette a little lost.
"That's… good and all, but what does that have to do with what you said before?"
"I was getting to that! Don't interrupt your elders!"
Izuku bowed his head with relative shame.
"RIGHT! Yes sir! Sorry sir!" Midoriya quickly apologized.
"As I was saying, you need to develop some extraordinary amount of flexibility so you can fight properly. But doing that in the span of a week is practically impossible," Torino continued.
"If that's the case, why suggest a solution?" Izuku questioned.
"I said practically impossible, meaning that what I'm gonna suggest is off the beaten path."
"Whatever it is, I'll do it! If it means getting closer to mastering One For All, then I say let's go for it!" Izuku exclaimed, hands clenched.
Gran Torino looked the ninth wielder up and down, trying to see if he could pick up on any doubt in the boy's response.
"Okay kid. Just know I warned ya," Torino sighed, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out his cellphone.
"I gotta make a call real quick, so hang on for a sec."
Torino walked to a more open part of the living area, leaving Izuku to his own devices.
"I wonder who he's going to call? It could be another Pro Hero! Or another person who trained All Might? But if that's the case, why didn't he recommend them to me when I was looking for a chance to intern? Who could he possibly-"
"WHADDYA WANT, YOU DAMN FOSSIL?!"
"HOW ABOUT SHOWING SOME RESPECT, YOU UNGRATEFUL RUNT?!"
"WHO YA CALLING A RUNT, YOU WALKING GARDEN GNOME?!"
'On second thought, never mind. I'm pretty sure it'll be crazy as usual.'
Izuku took a moment to think as he stood just a few feet away from what appeared to be the world's angriest shouting match. Honestly, it was amazing how much power Gran Torino had in his lungs, given his old age. Izuku had to give him some credit, since he was the man who molded the Symbol of Peace into Japan's No. 1 Hero. But who was he talking to on the other end of the line?
"Just get over here when you're done with patrol. I want your undivided attention for this, got it kid?" Torino said
"Ugh, really?! The last thing I need is to play babysitter for some snot-nosed punk who got lucky. I think I'll pass on that," The mysterious individual said on their side, much to Izuku's dismay.
"I can guarantee you won't regret this. Besides, he's one of the kids that placed in the Top 5 at the Sports Festival," Torino added, wanting to get this over with.
"The Top 5? Hmm… fine I'll bite. Which one of those ankle biters did you get as an intern? IT BETTER NOT BE TODOROKI! I'd rather not have Endeavor breathing down my neck 24/7."
"It's not Todoroki, so you can breathe easy on that. It's the green one," Torino answered, earning a small reaction from Izuku.
"Oh word? Okay, I'm in!" The person on the other line said, much to Torino's surprise.
"Really? Just like that, you're changing your tune?"
"...You don't have a thing for the kid, do ya-"
"WHAT THE FUCK?! NO! I'm not some 40-year-old cougar tryna "spice up" her sex life! The kid caught my interest and I'm a little curious. Hell, I'm one of the people who sent him an invite," The mysterious individual added.
"Wait, the person you're talking to sent me an invite?! Holy whoa, that's amazing! Who is it, Gran-"
"HEY, WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT INTERRUPTING YOUR ELDERS WHEN THEY'RE TALKING?!"
"YEAH, WATCH YOUR MOUTH KID! IT'S AN A & B CONVERSATION! "C" YOUR WAY OUT AND DON'T COME BACK!"
Both Torino and the person on the phone yelled at Izuku, causing him to jump.
"Right! Sorry!" Midoriya yelped, as he scooted away from Torino.
"Looks like manners is another thing I gotta teach the kit, aye? Alright then, I got two hours until my patrol ends. Keep him warmed-up until then. I wanna make an impression this week," The unknown caller says, earning a curt grunt from the retired hero.
"Alright then, I'll keep the kid occupied until then. And don't try to rush your patrol and repeat what happened last time."
"OH FOR GOD'S SAKE! Don't remind me of that, please!" The caller shouted before ending the call.
"Well, glad to see that still gets a rise outta her. Alright kid, listen up! I got a guest coming here to help with your training. I want you to get warmed-up until then, got it?" Torino ordered the greenette.
"Understood! Um… What exactly did you want me to do though? Like, some stretches or some exercise drills?"
"Oh my-JUST DO SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED COMBAT TRAINING! Seriously! Kids these days can't think for themselves," Torino muttered under his breath as he walked to the nearest couch.
"Fine, fine, jeez," Izuku also muttered under his breath, beginning to stretch.
For the next hour and a half, Midoriya ran warmup drills to prepare for whatever Gran Torino was planning. Honestly, he was dreading what the old veteran had conjured up for the internship.
'I still don't get why Gran Torino is bringing someone else in for my training. I mean, he trained All Might of all people. I doubt he'd have problems training someone like me?' Izuku thought, while Torino had his sights on the television.
"Hey kid, here's one rule on being a good hero," Gran Torino started as Izuku turned his attention to his handler.
"Yeah? What is i-"
POW!
"ACK!"
Suddenly, something hit Izuku behind his back with a force that could only be described as a semi-truck going 50 miles per hour. His body hit the wall hard, causing the structure to crack on impact.
"Never have your back facing the door. Villains look at that as a chance to strike, like so," A voice said from behind the boy.
"HEY! Just because you're a guest doesn't mean you get to trash the place however you please!" Torino chided the intruder.
"You kiddin' me?! This place was already a dump when I got in. I'm just "adding" to the aesthetic."
As Midoriya plopped on the ground belly up, he got a good glance at his assailant. Said assailant wore a set of purple stockings with metal attachments on the toes and knees. What caught his attention further was the dark caramel skin and form fitting leotard with a crescent moon symbol in the middle.
"N-N-No…way…"
"Kid, I'd like you to meet your warden for the next week," Torino said with a maddening grin.
"Try not to die on me, kid. The last thing I need is you wasting my time!"
"The No. 6 Hero in Japan… The Rabbit Hero: Miruko!"
To Be Continued…
PKSpartan A/N: IMMA GONNA SIIIIIIIIMP! INTRODUCING THE GODDESS HERSELF, MIRUKO! I have SOOOOOO many plans for this internship. Like HOLY COW, our sweet green bean is gonna get hurt in all the right ways…not like that, y'all nasty. Back on topic, we wanted to not only give Ryuko a chance to shine in her internship but also add something new to the Izuku internship since we've got him doing Full Cowl early.
Buckichamp A/N: And while PK worked (mostly) on the Torino-Miruko-Deku internship, Aduubo and I were in charge of the Best Jeanist-Bakugo-Matoi internship. We kinda decided it would be best to have one clear vision for each internship as much as possible from a single writer. Hopefully the differences won't be too discernable after the editing process, since we've never done this exact set up in terms of scene direction (and before certain shenanigans happened lol).
Also a quick tease, PK came up with Ryuko's hero name (a while back from when this note was originally written) and I want that on record! Good job on his part. You'll have to keep reading in the coming chapters as to when we reveal it, but not right now.
