Sailor Moon found herself in a strange and empty void, unsure where she was or what was going on. Then, her clothing began to unravel in pink ribbons retreating inside her Silver Crystal. In a matter of seconds, Sailor Moon's clothes disappeared and were replaced with her regular clothing as Usagi Tsukino, while the Silver Crystal's glow began to fade away.

"What's going on here?!" Usagi exclaimed. "The Silver Crystal's light is fading away!"

Then, the other Guardians suddenly appeared before her as she sank to her knees on the floor.

"What's the matter, Usagi?" asked Sailor Mercury in a mocking tone. "Studying got you down?"

"Maybe she's been working too hard," laughed Sailor Jupiter.

"No. Usagi's most likely not getting enough beauty rest," suggested Sailor Venus rudely.

"Nah. Knowing my sister, she probably overate and now has a tummyache," Solaris sniggered.

Usagi covered her ears, pretending not to hear. Then she heard Sailor Mars.

"Usagi, maybe it's time for you to retire as a Guardian."

The ordango blonde scowled crossly. "Say what?! How could you say that?! I thought you were my friends and family!" she snapped indignantly. "I'll never quit!"

Not wanting to take this lying down, Usagi then reached out for Sailor Mars, wanting to wring her neck out in anger.

In her sleep, Usagi somehow reached out and grabbed Luna right around the poor kitty's stomach, squeezing as hard as she could, believing her to be Rei. Luna yowled and meowed as she thrashed around, trying to break free. Then, having no other option, Luna furiously slapped Usagi's cheeks over and over again until Usagi finally woke up, her cheeks stinging as she let Luna go.

"It was... a dream?" Usagi sleepily spoke.

"Yes, it was," said Luna. "You must have had one doozy of a nightmare."

Usagi then looked to the side of her bed, where her brooch lay resting next to her pillow, taking it into her hands and opening it, revealing the Silver Crystal. She could still remember when she fought Mikuji and how she lost power during that fight.

"But - it wasn't just a dream. The Silver Crystal did lose its light," Usagi spoke quietly. "And until it returns, I may not be able to transform again." Her eyes began to fill with tears. "Luna, could this mean that I'll have to retire as a Guardian?"

"Of course not, Usagi," Luna spoke gently. "You'll be fine. Everything is going to be okay. Harusuke went through the same thing you did, and he got his powers back. So you shouldn't let this get you down." Then she came up with an idea. "I got it. Why don't you talk with Mamoru? I bet it'll cheer you up."

Usagi looked up at Luna, unsure if she felt like talking to anyone, but the black feline urged her on.

"Come on, Usagi. Get going. I'm sure talking to him will make you feel better."

"Well, I guess so," said Usagi. "I'll go get dressed then."

Tomoe was busily at work in his lab, concocting another Daimon Egg for their hunt. He had just finished making a mixture when Kaolinite appeared in the room wearing a lab coat on top of her black dress.

"How goes your work, Tomoe?" Kaolinite asked.

"It's coming along rather smoothly, Kaolinite," Tomoe replied. "I've just finished making the solution, and all it needs now is your magic."

Tomoe then held up a flask filled with a strange green liquid and held it out to Kaolinite. She raised her wand, and while it radiated with her magic, the container began to float in the air. A black shot of energy shot from it and into the flask, entering the solution. It then started to glow brightly, and with an exploding crack, a new Daimon Egg emerged from it, hovering over to the end of Kaolinite's wand.

"Tomoe, I'm heading out to find a good host for this egg," Kaolinite said. "If this one fails, then set to work on creating another one."

"As you wish," Tomoe acknowledged.

Kaolinite then disappeared, leaving her labcoat behind her.

Later that day, while sitting on a bench in Juuban Park, Usagi told Mamoru about her dream and the Silver Crystal.

"So that's what you saw in your dream," Mamoru murmured. "Sounds like a nightmare, alright."

"So, Mamo, what do you think I'm supposed to do now?" wondered Usagi. "If I can't transform, then I won't be able to protect the Earth from this new enemy. I don't know what to do."

Mamoru didn't know what to say nor do. It was one thing to help your girlfriend with the usual stuff, but when it came to the Silver Crystal, not even he could figure out how to restore his power. Not to mention that he hated to see Usagi so sad and worried and wanted to cheer her up.

Then suddenly, an idea popped into Mamoru's head. "Of course! I may not know how to fix your problem, but I do know to make you smile again!"

Before Usagi could answer, Mamoru took her hand and pulled her along, leading her somewhere outside the park. Eventually, the two came to an old and abandoned mansion. Mamoru then led Usagi through a large hole in a broken wall leading to the mansion's garden.

Usagi couldn't help but feel a bit worried. "Um, Mamo? Are you sure it's okay for us to be here?" she wondered.

"Probably not," replied Mamoru with a shrug. "But who cares? It'll be fine."

Usagi still felt a bit nervous being alone with Mamoru in an unknown place. Then a sly grin tugged at her cheeks as she blushed bright pink while playing with her fingers.

"Oh my! Mamo, you sly boy~ Now I know what you're up to~" Usagi giggled giddily. "The reason why we're here is that you want to be alone with me~."

"Don't get the wrong idea!" Mamoru spoke, a bit unnerved. "Just what kind of guy do you take me for?!"

"It's okay, Mamo~ There's no need to be embarrassed~" Usagi gushed. "I feel the same way you do~."

Usagi then closed her eyes and puckered her lips, expecting a kiss from her boyfriend. But instead, Usagi felt something like sandpaper run across her lips, which made her eyes snap open as she jumped in surprise. Then she saw something that made her smile. In front of her was Mamoru carrying a tiny and cute brown kitten in his arms.

"Awww! What a cute kitty!" Usagi gushed as she took the kitten into her arms. "Aren't you the sweetest little kitty ever?"

The kitten gave a tiny and friendly meow in response.

"You know what? I'm going to call you Sugar because you're so sweet," Usagi told the kitten. "So, Mamo, is this the reason why you brought me out here?"

"Yeah. I figured that you'd like visiting the stray cats here," said Mamoru. "This place is a refuge for stray cats, so there's a lot of them that come here."

Just then, Sugar's ears then perked up, and before Usagi could say meow, Sugar jumped out of her arms and raced inside of the mansion. Feeling curious as to where Sugar was going, Usagi and Mamoru followed.

When they got inside, they saw the reason why Sugar ran off. Inside, they saw a little girl with chestnut brown hair in a red bow, surrounded by dozens of kittens and cats, as she served them cat food in bowls.

"Don't worry. Take your time," the little girl told the felines. "There's plenty more food where that came from."

Usagi then stepped out, pretending that she was Sailor Moon. "Excuse me, but are you taking care of those cats?" she spoke in a heroic voice.

The little girl jumped. "Who are you?"

Usagi then struck her Sailor Moon pose. "I'm the Guardian of Cats!" she joked.

"Hello there," greeted Mamoru, poking his head out.

The two then laughed, and the little girl couldn't help but laugh too as they came over to join her.

"They seem so friendly," Usagi smiled as she petted one of the cats on its head. "So, do you come out here every day to feed them?"

The little girl then frowned. "Yeah, but feel sorry for them," she said sadly. "They've been living at this house for a long time, but it's in a few days."

"That's not good," said Mamoru.

"I know, and there's nothing I can do because there are so many," the little girl went on. "All I want for these cats is for them to be happy and safe."

Usagi couldn't help but feel touched by this little girl's kindness for the cats. It was then that she made a decision. "You know what? I'm going to help you take care of these cats and find them all homes!" she declared with determination. "Mamoru, you don't mind, do you?"

Mamoru did mind just a bit due to Usagi being so gung-ho about this undertaking, but he didn't want to disappoint her. "If it makes you feel better, by all means, go ahead."

Meanwhile, Kaolinite was walking around trying to find a host to implant the Daimon Egg until she came to an apartment complex. When she did, the Egg began to pulse with black energy as if it was trying to tell her something. Then she looked up at the complex and smiled.

"So your host is up there, eh?" she said. "Very well, then. Go out and search for the pure heart that contains a talisman for our Master Pharoh 90."

The Egg then shot up from her hand, flying upwards until it finally stopped in front of an open window, which led into a little girl's room. The Egg entered and hovered around the room, looking for its perfect host. Then the Egg went over to a desk with an unfinished puzzle picture of a cat on its surface. It then hovered over to the puzzle touching it, and then disappeared, merging with it.

The next day at the Hikawa Shrine, Usagi told the others about the cats and her plan to save them.

"What?! You're doing a cat rescue plan?!" everyone exclaimed.

"Yup, and taking care of them, until I can find them all new homes," grinned Usagi. "And since I can count on each of you adopting a cat, that means four of the cats will have happy homes already."

"Now hold on just a minute, Usagi," objected Minako. "I've got enough of trouble with Artemis as it is, and he's about as much trouble as I can take."

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" Artemis snapped crossly.

Minako then bopped Artemis right on the cheek to shut him up. "Just let it go, Artemis," she said wryly.

Rei then took her broom and, with a mighty swing, gave the tree a powerful smack making it tremble and scaring all of the birds in it, causing them to fly away.

"As for me, the Hikawa Shrine has so many birds, it's practically a bird sanctuary," Rei explained. "A cat is out of the question."

Everyone else just blankly stared at Rei, not understanding her reasoning.

"Yeah... and I live alone, so I can't have a cat either," Makoto stammered. "I'm never home, so I wouldn't be able to take care of it."

"Neither can I," Ami spoke apologetically. "With all the high-school exams coming up, I don't think I can manage a cat."

"At least that's a legitimate reason," muttered Harusuke.

Usagi was now cross. "What's the matter with you, guys?!" she huffed. "All the five of you do is think about yourselves!"

"Well, then why don't you and Harusuke let them all live in your family's place, Usagi?" asked Rei.

Usagi froze, being unable to speak for a moment. "Well... You see..." she said hesitantly, quickly thinking of an excuse. "Our family can barely get by since Luna's such a glutton."

"Real original, Sis," Harusuke said while rolling his eyes. "How long did it take for you to come up with that one?"

Usagi glared at her brother. "Shut up, Harusuke! The least you can do is back me up on this one!" she snapped. "Can't you even take one of the kittens home?!"

"Usagi, you know as well as I do that there's no way Mom and Dad would allow us to take those cats in, much less one more," Harusuke said. "Although, you are right about Luna being a bit of a glutton. She does have a nasty habit of eating a lot as much as you do."

"Who're you calling a glutton?!" Luna yowled angrily.

But before she could object any more, Ami quickly took one of her sandwiches and stuffed it into Luna's mouth, of which she munched on happily.

"Well, I'm sure that there are lots of people out there who will be happy to adopt them," Ami said. "So, I would recommend you take your time to find them."

"I guess you're right," Usagi conceded. "But the least you guys can do is help me pick up some cat food later today." She turned to her brother. "Come on, Bro. You're going to help me carry some."

"Hey! Just to let you know, You're pitching in too!" Harusuke warned. "There's no way I'm paying by myself!"

As the Tsukino siblings left for the store, Artemis spoke to Luna, still munching on her sandwich.

"What's gotten into, Usagi?" the white cat asked Luna.

"Nothing new, really," Luna spoke between bites. "Just another one of her whims that's made her cat crazy."

Back at the apartment complex, the little girl had just gotten home from school and was just about to enter the door when she found she had two unexpected followers pursuing her. Two tiny kittens, to be exact.

"Listen, you two, you've got to stop following me," the little girl said sternly. "I'm sorry, but we're not allowed to have cats here."

The two kittens meowed cutely and nuzzled against the girl's legs with pleading eyes wanting sanctuary.

The girl then conceded, not wanting to turn down such cute kittens. She looked around, ensuring that no one was around before letting them inside and leading them to her room.

"You two can stay here until my mom comes home," the little girl said. "But try not to mess things up, okay?"

Unfortunately, the little girl had forgotten that kittens were not only curious, but they can also be a bit naughty, too. The two kittens then began to jump around, exploring their new surroundings. The little girl tried to stop them, but they were too quick for her. Then one of them happened to be on top of her desk, much to her surprise. Before she could try to stop him, she had leaped off of it, kicking up a couple of pieces of her puzzle.

"Be careful!" the little girl cried. "You're messing up my puzzle!"

Luckily, the puzzle remained intact, save only one piece right in the middle. The little girl then placed it where it belonged, when suddenly, the whole thing began to glow as it came to life. The puzzle swelled to a large size bending and morphing into a humanoid womanly shape until it turned into a fully evolved Daimon.

She had purple skin, with long sharp black nails, short black hair, and red eyes with a black slit in each of them. She also had a pair of cat ears while wearing a white tutu with prominent orange and black polka-dots, a long tail, and red pumps.

The little girl was shocked and frightened, while the two kittens hissed, sensing that she was dangerous.

"What's going on here?!" the little girl cried.

"Calm down. My name is Nekonell," the Daimon said. "I've come to collect the light that lies within your pure heart."

Nekonell extended her claws and swung straight at the girl, intending to impale her, but the child quickly dodged just in time, causing the creature to get stuck to her bed. The girl then took off running out of the apartment, trying to escape, but before she could, Nekonell shot out her tail, extending it, and wrapped it around the girl's neck. Luckily, the girl had the strength to shut the door, causing it to crumble and break apart into puzzle pieces.

The little girl then took off again, racing out of the complex as fast as her legs could carry her. Not really knowing where else to run, the girl didn't stop running until she and the kittens arrived at the abandoned mansion. The little girl raced inside and shut the door behind her, letting out a shaky breath thinking that she was safe.

But she was wrong. Right then, there was an evil meow, and much to the girl's horror, Nekonell appeared just outside of the balcony. She shattered through the window with a mighty crash, landing in front of the little girl. The little girl had nowhere else to run nor hide as Nekonell purred with triumph having to have secured its target.

Nekonell lifted her skirt, revealing a black star tattoo on her thigh. It shone brightly and then, like with Mikuji, shot a black beam of light straight into the girl's chest, causing her to cry out in agony as it began to extract her pure heart.

At the same time, just outside of the mansion, Usagi and the others were playing with Sugar and the kittens while they fed them. And despite the other guardians saying they couldn't adopt any kittens, even they had to agree that they were pretty cute, even Harusuke.

"You know, maybe I should talk my grandpa into adopting one of them," Rei giggled as she held a kitten in her arms.

"Don't stop at just one," said Usagi. "Why don't you adopt them all?"

"Usagi, this isn't a supermarket sale," chuckled Makoto. "It's not like they're cupcakes or anything."

"Sorry," Usagi blushed. "Worth a try, though."

Then suddenly, Sugar's ears perked up as did the other kittens, and before Usagi and the Guardians could say hairball, the kittens all darted away, disappearing inside the mansion.

"What was that all about?!" wondered Usagi. "Why did they run off?"

"I don't know," said Harusuke. "Let's go find out."

Everyone then heard a scream coming from inside. Knowing that there was trouble, Usagi and the gang ran inside to see what was the matter, only to find a shocking sight meet their eyes. They saw the little girl who was slumped against the wall, barely breathing as her chest had a small black portal-like void like with Rei, and Nekonell, who was trying to fend off Sugar and the kittens, of which were biting and clawing at her viciously to protect the little girl.

"It's a Daimon!" exclaimed Harusuke. "And she's after that girl! We've got to help her!"

Usagi then took out her brooch. The ordango knew full well that there was a possibility that she wouldn't transform, but she knew she had to try anyway.

"I've got to help that girl and save her!" Usagi said to herself. "Please! Please, work!"

She then held up her brooch in her hand, praying for success. "MOON CRYSTAL POWER MAKE UP!"

But much to her horror and disappointment, nothing happened. Not only that, but Nekonell was finally able to throw Sugar and his friends off, throwing them to the ground.

Harusuke and the other Guardians then stepped up.

"Come on, girls! Let's do this!" Harusuke called out. "Transform!"

Everyone answered with a nod as they transformed.

"SOLAR PRISM POWER BLAZE FORTH!"

"MERCURY STAR POWER MAKE UP!"

"MARS STAR POWER MAKE UP!"

"JUPITER STAR POWER MAKE UP!"

"VENUS STAR POWER MAKE UP!"

Transformation Sequence: Harusuke.

Harusuke holds up his hand as the stone on his bracelet shines bright in golden light. The stone lets out three pulses, the symbol of the Sun glowing inside of it on the third pulse. Harusuke is enveloped in silver and gold light as he jumps into the air, his clothes disappearing. The symbol of the sun appears just above him and goes down, phasing through his body, making his silver jumpsuit with gold lines on the sides materialize. Two smaller sun symbols go over his feet to his kneecaps, and his gold and metal boots and silver kneecaps appear. Around his waist, a ring of light wraps around it, forming a belt with a gold belt buckle in the shape of an oval. Harusuke then spreads his arms wide as two more light rings envelop his arms and hands, making gold gloves appear. The symbol of the sun appears in front of him now, and crashes into his chest, making his chest piece like before, now thicker and having shoulder guards. Finally, a helmet materializes above Harusuke's head, the design slightly different as he reaches and grabs hit, putting it on his head, not having a mouth protector. Harusuke opens his eyes, punches his hands together, and strikes his signature pose, the symbol of the sun appearing behind him with a star-filled background.

Transformation Sequence: Ami

Ami holds up her hand as blue sparkles swirled around it, alighting her fingernails turning them into a shade of bright blue. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end and the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Ami is enveloped in blue light. Then she sweeps the pen over her head as a stream of sparkling blue water begins to emit from it, forming her leotard, boots, and gloves. A sparkling ripple and a flurry of bubbles expand over her body, creating a tiny mist of water that forms the rest of her uniform, the same as Sailor Moon's, but the center bow, boots, and rims on the gloves were blue and bright blue. Finally, she turns around and then strikes her signature pose.

Transformation Sequence: Rei

Rei's hand is held up as red sparkles swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright red. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Rei is enveloped in red light. As she held up her pen while spinning around, long bright tongues of flame erupted from it, forming several rings around her body. They tighten around her body, and in a brilliant flash of light, her outfit forms having to look just like Sailor Moon's, but she is wearing red pumps along with a pair of red star-shaped earrings, the center bow is purple, and the rims of her gloves, her skirt, her choker, and collar are red. After that, Mars finishes with her signature pose.

Transformation Sequence: Makoto

Makoto's hand is held up as green sparkles swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright green. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It starts to turn around rapidly as green light envelops Makoto. As she holds up her pen while spinning around, long streams of lightning erupt from it, encircling her body, forming an atom of sorts before exploding in a brilliant flash of light. Her outfit forms, having to look just like Sailor Moon's, wearing green boots along with her pair of roses earrings, the bow is pink, and the rims of her gloves green, as is her skirt, her choker, and collar. After that, Jupiter finishes with her signature pose.

Transformation sequence: Minako.

Minako's hand is held up as golden stars swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright orange. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Minako is enveloped in yellow light. Then she sweeps the pen over her head as banners of golden stars emit from it. Minako then holds up the pen above her head as the banners of stars form a spiral around her body. They disappear into the ground, forming a circle of stars and burst into more stars going upwards, enveloping Minako's body. Then Minako emerges wearing the same outfit as Sailor Moon's, the center bow, boots, and rims on the gloves colored orange, her back bow, yellow, and her center bow, blue. She then opens her eyes as she assumes her signature pose.

Nekonell refocused her attention on her target and was about to extract her pure heart when five voices cried out.

"Stop right there! The Guardians have arrived!"

Nekonell looked up, and standing before her, were Solaris and Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus.

"You girls get the Daimon!" Solaris ordered. "I'll take care of the girl!"

The Guardian of the Sun then rushed over to the child while the other Guardians went on the attack, using their signature moves.

"MARS BURNING MANDALA!"

"MERCURY SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!"

"JUPITER SPARKLING WIDE PRESSURE!"

"VENUS LOVE-ME CHAIN!"

But as the four unleashed their attacks, Nekonell turned around and, using her agile tail, whipped around back and forth, deflecting the attacks with ease, sending the attacks right back at them, their attacks resulting in a powerful kaboom that shook the whole mansion. When the smoke cleared, the four Inner Sailor Guardians were all on the ground battered, bruised, and out.

Usagi was horrified. "No! Everyone! I've got to try and help them!" She then rushed towards Nekonell, not caring if she was helpless. "Stop it! Leave them alone!"

"No, Usagi! Stop!" Luna yelled.

"Get back!" Artemis shouted.

But their warning came too late, as Nekonell gave the three a mighty whip of her tail, knocking them all straight into the wall.

Solaris saw that his sister was in trouble, but before he could even think of trying to help her, Nekonell used her tail to wrap around his neck, squeezing the life out of it. Solaris choked as he desperately tried to breathe. Then, in a mighty heave of strength, the Daimon Cat flung Solaris straight at the Inner Guardians, making him crash straight into them, making a pile of bodies.

"Now that there's no more interference, I'll be taking that Pure Heart now."

Nekonell lifted her skirt once more, using her tattoo to shoot a beam into the girl's chest. The child let out one more scream of pain as her skin went pale, and her eyes went unfocused, as her Pure Heart Crystal came out of her chest.

Nekonell then took the crystal, feeling very pleased with herself. "And now to present this Pure Heart Crystal of Kaolinite," she purred.

Suddenly, just as she was about to be on her way, an earthen ball of energy came shooting straight into her, shocking her with its power. Then, a powerful sphere of water came shooting out, blasting her into oblivion and reducing her to nothing but puzzle pieces, dropping the Pure Heart Crystal in the process. Usagi and the others were surprised as they heard a voice from above.

"That was too easy. Not even worth a challenge."

Everyone then looked up, and just in front of the stained glass window from above, two shadows stood in front of them—the one in the sailor uniform and the other wearing the same but glasses and a cape.

"It's those same two from last time!" gasped Luna.

The two shadows then jumped down to the ground and inspected the crystal.

"Well?" asked the first. "Is that it?"

"Nope. It was the wrong target again," said the second.

They then let the Pure Heart Crystal go as it reentered the girl's body, restoring her complexion. The two shadows then turned on their heels and made their exit, disappearing through the broken window. Everyone couldn't help but be confused as well as amazed.

"Just who are those guys?" wondered Sailor Venus.

But then fascination was quickly cut short. Right then, the puzzle pieces of Nekonell began to gather, messing into one big pile, until she was like new.

"You got to be kidding me!" Solaris gasped. "This thing is still alive?!"

Nekonell then split her tail into four and made them stretch out and wrap around each other, the Inner Guardians, throwing them around into walls and onto the floors like ragdolls. Solaris immediately shot forward and threw a couple of punches until he finally managed to punch straight into Nekonell's stomach, making a hole. The Daimon gave Solaris a mischievous and dangerous glare as she closed it around Solaris' hand, trapping it. The Guardian of the Sun tried to pull it out, but he couldn't.

Nekonell used her tails to whip Solaris over and over and then, with a mighty kick, nailed him in the stomach, sent him flying and crashing through the wall. All guardians were now down for the count, leaving Usagi the only one standing in the Daimon's way from taking the little girl's pure heart. Nekonell then extended her tail once more, wrapping it around Usagi's neck, and began to squeeze, intent on choking the life out of the blonde ordango.

Then, suddenly, a rose came shooting down from above, piercing straight through the monster's tail, shattering it and setting Usagi free.

"Who did that?!" Nekonell demanded.

Her answer came in the form of a voice coming from above.

"Those who dare to toy with those pure of heart will one day be judged by those pure of heart!"

Usagi then looked up, and standing in front of the window was her masked caped crusader. "Tuxedo Mask!" she cried happily.

Tuxedo Mask jumped off the window sill and landed in front of Usagi, ready to fight for her lady. Nekonell taking the challenge, used her tail attack, splitting it into multiple tails and meshing them into one, aiming straight at Tuxedo Mask's chest. The masked hero whipped out his cane, and aiming carefully, countered by making it extend. It broke directly through Nekonell's tendrils and pierced straight into Nekonell's stomach, sending her straight to the wall.

However, Nekonell wasn't out of the fight just yet. She grabbed a firm hold of Tuxedo Mask's cane and squeezed so tightly that it broke in two with a sharp crack, much to Tuxedo Mask's shock. Nekonell then extended her sharp claws as she pounced straight at him. Tuxedo Mask bravely stepped in front of Usagi, flourishing his cape protecting her from harm, but it wasn't enough to defend himself as Nekonell slashed straight through it, raking across his clothes and skin.

"Tuxedo Mask!" gasped Usagi with horror. "You're hurt!"

"R-Run, Usako!" gasped Tuxedo Mask.

Nekonell then gunned straight for Usagi, but Tuxedo Mask quickly threw a rose right into the Daimon's face, saving her.

"Now, Usako! Get out of here!" urged Tuxedo Mask, wincing in pain as he fell to his knee. "You need to get out of here as fast as you can, even if it's by yourself!"

"There's no way I can do that!" Usagi objected. "I'm not leaving you alone!"

"Go now!" Mamoru insisted, trying to be forceful. "Hurry and run!"

Usagi then held the caped man by his hand, defiant and determined. "I can't! I want to protect everyone, and that includes you, Mamo!" she cried, her eyes filling with tears. "No matter what, I'll always stay and fight by your side because you're my beloved, and I won't abandon you!"

Tuxedo Mask stared at Usagi, feeling touched by her courage and resolve. The two held each other's hands tightly, neither one wanting to let go. At that moment, their bodies began to radiate in a warm and pink light that illuminated the entire mansion. Nekonell, who managed to recover, didn't let that light stop her as she tried attacking with her claws. However, the glow surrounding the two lovers somehow repelled her, making her burst into puzzle pieces. Luna and Artemis couldn't believe their eyes.

"What's going on?!" gasped Luna.

"I don't know!" said Artemis.

Usagi's brooch began to glow in bright light as it hovered in between Usagi and Tuxedo Mask. Next, it opened up, revealing the Silver Crystal inside it, and absorbed the power emanating from Usagi and Tuxedo Mask. Then, it suddenly released a beam of light that made the Cutie Moon Rod appear. Both the brooch and Cutie Moon Rod then changed in appearance.

The brooch was in the shape of a heart that was colored red with gold trims with small colorful gems.

The Cutie Moon Rod was now a lighter shade of pink, had a gold ball at the bottom and two gold stars on the upper base, and had a golden bow wrapped around it. At the very top of the bow on the end of the rod was a large red heart that was a bit similar to the new brooch but had a silver gem in the middle surrounded by red jewels and had a gold crown on top of it.

Luna and Artemis, along with the other Guardians, were amazed.

"No way. It can't be!" Luna gasped in amazement. "Could that be the legendary...?"

"Spiral Heart Moon Rod!" finished Artemis. "But, how could Usagi and Mamoru summon something like that?"

"It's was the power of our love," Usagi spoke with wonder. "Our love was so strong; it allowed this miracle to happen."

Just then, a fierce and angry yowl interrupted the moment. Everyone looked up and could see that Nekonell was beginning to reform once again, and she was livid with revenge.

"Usagi! You've got to transform now!" Artemis cried.

"And you can do it for sure this time!" said Luna. "Beat that monster for good!"

Usagi answered with a nod and held up her brooch, shouting out her new transformation phrase.

"MOON COSMIC POWER MAKE UP!"

Transformation Sequence: Usagi

Usagi's Cosmic Heart Compact opens, revealing the pink heart-shaped crystal inside, waving her hand over it. It flashes twice and erupts in pink light. Usagi is now standing in the middle of a light blue heart that's spinning to the right. She stands one leg while holding up her arms and begins pirouetting in the opposite direction, going faster until, in a burst of light, pink ribbons envelop her torso and midsection, transforming into her leotard. She elegantly stretches out her arms, and pink ribbons cover them, forming into her gloves. She then raised her right foot high with incredible flexibility, and pink ribbons cloak it changing into her boots. The heart made of blue light then turns into a circle of sparkles swirling around her waist, forming her skirt and bow. Now no longer in light, Usagi spins around a couple of times like a ballerina and takes a slight bow. As she comes out from her bow, a crescent moon mark glows in the middle of her forehead. Then, a tiara appears bearing a gold symbol of the Moon, along with her earrings, choker, and her ordango covers. Finally, Usagi opens her eyes, her transformation now complete, and strikes her signature pose.

"I can't forgive people who trample on pure hearts!" the revitalized guardian proclaimed. "I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for love and justice! I am Sailor Moon! And now, in the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!"

Nekonell, not intimidated, let out a fierce yowl as she charged straight at Sailor Moon. The Guardian of the Moon then held up her new Spiral Moon Heart Rod and began to flip it around her body skillfully and elegantly until he stopped holding it above her head. The gem began to glow as Sailor Moon spun around at an incredible speed as she called out the name of her new attack.

"MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!"

She suddenly came to a stop while holding up her rod, and it unleashed a powerful blast of light, taking the shape of a giant pink heart of energy. The attack crashed straight through Nekonell like glass, and with a dying yowl of defeat, Nekonell was no more. All that remained was the little girl's puzzle and a Daimon Egg that cracked in two as it let out a puff of black smoke.

Sailor Moon then let out a whoop of joy, feeling so happy that she could burst. "I did it! I did it! I transformed!"

"That was well done, Sailor Moon," congratulated Tuxedo Mask. "I'm very proud of you."

"Yeah! Way to go, Sis!" said Solaris. "It's good to have you back!"

Everyone else heartily agreed as Sailor Moon continued to grin.

After things calmed down, Usagi and the others visited the cats at the mansion along with the little girl. The little girl made a full recovery and was now playing with the kittens with cattails.

"I'm so relieved that's over, but now the real trouble starts," said Minako.

"Yeah, I know. But, we still need to find homes for these cats," said Makoto. "Anyone got any ideas?"

"No need to worry about that," Usagi grinned. "I've already taken care of that. Rei will take five, Ami two, Minako two, Mako one, and Harusuke seven."

"Usagi, we already told you that we couldn't take any cats!" objected Harusuke. "And quite frankly, we've had just about enough of your nonsense."

Harusuke and the others each whipped out a cattail and then began tickling Usagi with them, of which she began to laugh hysterically.

"H-Hey! Knock it off! I'm not a cat!" Usagi shrieked with laughter. "You're tickling me! Besides, I've got another idea."

Harusuke the others then ceased their assault.

"Oh? And just what exactly is this idea of yours?" asked Rei.

"Why don't we take them to the Great Animal Kingdom?" Usagi suggested. "At least that way, they'll have wide-open spaces and other animals to play with."

Harusuke and the others stared blankly at Usagi, exasperation written on their faces.

"Seriously? Why didn't you think of that sooner, you Bun-head?" sighed Rei.

"I think my sister could use a bit more punishment, girls. Don't you think?" Harusuke asked, readying his cattail.

The others wagged their cattails in response, and not wanting to get tickled again, Usagi took off running.

"That girl is hopeless," Luna and Artemis sighed as they watched the chaos ensue.
