The Amazon Trio were drinking at the bar as they always did, having gone through another one of Zirconia's tirades, and they couldn't be any more annoyed. Then, VesVes and JunJun stolled in.

"Heya, guys," greeted JunJun. "Drowning your sorrows as usual, huh? If you keep drinking that much, you'll end up screwing with your bladders."

"Oh, leave us alone, JunJun!" snapped Tiger's Eye as he huffily gulped his drink. "If you would've gone through what we did, you'd be doing the same! Doesn't that old witch realize we've been trying our best?!"

"Well, I can relate to that. Zirconia's angry rambling is no joke," sighed VesVes. "She certainly goes on one whenever she gets mad."

"No kidding," concurred Hawk's Eye. "She could at least give us a chance to explain ourselves before going off on us."

"Well, maybe if you guys have found Pegasus, she wouldn't be so angry," pointed out JunJun.

"You make it sound so easy!" Tiger's Eye barked crossly. "We have no idea whose dreams Pegasus is hiding in, so obviously, it will take some time! But does she sympathize? No! All she can say is...!"

Hawk's Eye then made a face resembling Zirconia while speaking in a voice sounding exactly like hers.

"You worthless incompetents have failed again! Honestly! When are you ever going to capture Pegasus, you good-for-nothing numbskulls?!"

JunJun and VesVes stared while Tiger's Eye was so surprised he spit in his drink.

"Wow, Hawk's Eye! That wasn't too bad!" complemented JunJun. "You sounded just like her!"

"Thanks, I've been working on it for a while now," winked Hawk's Eye.

"So, you've got time to fool around, but not for any real work around here?!" Tiger's Eye then snarled crossly.

"That's an entirely different thing!" Hawk's Eye spoke, trying to calm his colleague down.

As the two began to bicker, VesVes took notice of Fish's Eye, who had been silent throughout the exchange, staring at his drink.

"Is something on your mind, Fish's Eye?" she wondered. "You look down."

"I was just thinking," replied Fish's Eye. "What do you think will happen if we keep failing and don't find Pegasus?"

"Seach me," said Hawk's Eye. "Hopefully, and probably nothing too terrible."

"But, don't you think that the Madame treats us three rather poorly?" wondered Fish's Eye. "It's almost as if she's expecting us to fail."

"Well, you do have a point there," said JunJun. "The old hag doesn't treat us as bad as you three. You think she's playing favorites?"

"Who can say?" shrugged VesVes. "I don't think anyone can get a read on what Madame Zirconia is thinking anymore."

At that moment, they were interrupted by a flapping of wings, and a familiar eyeball with wings flew in.

"Oh, look. It's Zircon," said Tiger's Eye. "Looks like he's got another target for us."

Zircon flew over to VesVes resting and released a beam of red light from its cornea, making a picture appear. The picture's subject was Mamoru, admiring a shelf of books at a store.

Tiger's Eye and Hawk's Eye took one look and cringed. "Ew! It's a guy!" they both said.

When they said that, Fish's Eye immediately perked up and snatched the photo from VesVes As soon as he looked at it, his eyes practically became hearts as he swooned in delight.

"He's so gorgeous!"

Everyone face-faulted to the ground in shock.

"Hey! What happened to you being melancholy just a minute ago?!" Hawk's Eye snapped indignantly

"This is a completely different thing," Fish's Eye spoke brightly.

"Well, that's Fish's Eye for you," sighed JunJun. "One minute, he's a sad sack, but when he sees a hot guy, he bounces right back."

"And he certainly does love them, doesn't he?" agreed Tiger's Eye.

"Well, that may be true, but sadly, all of his crushes are usually one-sided," smirked Hawk's Eye cheekily. "Resulting in him getting dumped a lot."

"That's only because I haven't gotten serious yet!" objected Fish's Eye. "Once I do, there isn't a single man around who I can't woo!"

"Now, where have I heard those words before?" smiled Hawk's Eye teasingly. "That's pretty big talk."

"OK then. How's about we see you get serious for a change?" challenged Tiger's Eye.

"Fine by me," Fish's Eye countered. "But only if they're worth the effort."

"Do your best, Fish's Eye," encouraged VesVes. "Make us proud, OK?"

Fish's Eye responded with a wink as he set off to hunt for his target.

Usagi and her group were at a fish store for an outing, admiring all the different species. Usagi dragged Mamoru around the store back and forth while pointing out the fishes she deemed adorable.

"Oh, wow, Mamo, look at these! They're so cute!" Usagi cried as she pulled him along. "Ooh! And these, too! They're adorable!"

"Hey, take it easy with Mamoru, Usagi!" Rei scolded. "The guy's finally managed to take some time off from college, so you should give him a break! Besides, don't you think you should act a bit less childish, considering we're in a public place?"

But then Minako and Makoto went past her, each holding Harusuke by the arm and doing the same thing Usagi was.

"Hey, Harusuke! What do you think of these fish?" asked Makoto. "Don't you think they're beautiful?"

"And these little fishies, too!" chirped Minako. "I think these are super cute! Don't you agree?"

"Well, uh, yes, on both accounts," Harusuke spoke wryly but respectably. "I think they're very much beautiful and adorable."

Rei could only groan in disdain.

The only two who were admiring the fish quietly were Ami and Chibiusa, both of which stood in front of a tank that was filled with colorful fish.

"Wow. They're all so pretty," marveled Chibiusa. "They're like little swimming jewels."

"Those fish are quite rare," said Ami. "They come from the Amazon River in South America."

While resting in Chibiusa's handbag, Diana admired the fish, too, but from a different perspective. "They sure look tasty," the little gray kitten said dreamily.

Ami and Chibiusa could only look at Diana, taken aback by her response.

"By the way, Mamoru, have you always been into tropical fish?" asked Minako.

"Yes, I have," replied Mamoru. "I've got a few of them back home, and I thought it was time to introduce some more exotic species to my collection."

"But, Mamo, don't you think the tank in your room is already crowded?" asked Usagi.

Minako then slyly grinned. "You seem to know a lot about what's going on in Mamoru's room, Usagi," she winked. "It's like you know everything about him."

The ordango blonde's face reddened as the other girls grinned at her cheekily.

"Woo! What a couple of lovebirds!" Minako went on teasing. "Things are getting steamy in here, you lucky girl!"

"Hey! That's enough!" barked Usagi. "Cut it out!"

Harusuke also patted Mamoru on the shoulder. "Hey, I know you and Usagi are dating and will become king and queen in the future and have a kid, Mamoru, but try to restrain yourselves," he said sternly. "Make sure to take things slow and don't rush into stuff."

Mamoru's face went red also. "H-Hey, what kind of guy do you take me for?!" Mamoru snapped flusteredly.

Everyone laughed.

The group split up to find other fish. Mamoru was by himself. As he looked around, Fish's Eye, disguised as a woman, appeared, peering out from behind a pillar.

"There's my target."

Then, as Mamoru stopped to admire a fish that caught his interest, Fish's Eye spoke out, putting on the charm while sounding mysterious.

"Why is it that you keep fish as pets? Don't you find them boring?"

Mamoru looked up as Fish's Eye stepped out from behind a corner.

"Is it because you feel like something is missing deep within your heart when you're with your current girlfriend?" he asked, holding a sheet of glass before his face. "I feel so sorry for pet fish. Being in a relationship with nothing but a glass wall between you must be lonely."

Before Mamoru could speak, Fish's Eye winced as he dropped the glass onto the floor, shattering into pieces upon hitting it. Mamoru quickly rushed over to him and saw his finger, which had a bleeding cut.

"Looks like you cut yourself," said Mamoru. "Here. Let me help you."

He got a handkerchief from his pocket and a bandaid. He quickly dabbed the wound and then placed the bandaid on it. As he did, Fish's Eye heart couldn't help but skip a few beats noticing that Mamoru's face was close to hers.

"There we go. Does that feel better?" asked Mamoru.

Fish's Eye quickly snapped out of her daze. "I-It does," he stammered. "Thank you so much."

Then, they both heard a familiar voice that made Mamoru tense up.

"Mamo..."

They then turned around and saw Usagi and the rest of the group standing behind them, the ordango blonde glaring dangerously at Mamoru.

"U-Usako! It's not what you think!" Mamoru instinctively cried. "This girl just dropped some glass, and I just-."

But Usagi smiled, laughing a bit. "I know," she said. "Don't worry. I kinda saw everything along with everyone else."

Mamoru was relieved but was quick to realize the implication of her words. "Wait, then, how long were you watching?!"

"Right around when you put the bandaid on her," said Usagi. "We all heard something fall and came to see what was up. Did you think I would believe you were cheating on me? Come now, Mamo. Surely, you realize I'm a more understanding girlfriend than you think. You're not the kind of guy that would cheat. Especially with me."

Mamoru stared at Usagi, a bit speechless.

"Well, now, Sis. Since when have you gone through such character development?" asked Harusuke. "Normally, you'd be all like: "Mamo! How dare you cheat on me, you womanizer! I'm going to slap you in the face!"

Rei then sniggered. "Nice impression, Harusuke. You sounded just like her."

Usagi puffed her cheeks in a pout. "Hey, I'll admit I was a bit too jealous and clingy, but I wasn't that bad!"

"Oh yeah? You sure could have fooled us," said Rei.

Then, Fish's Eye cut in, looking at Usagi from head to toe, much to her puzzlement.

"Is something wrong?" Usagi asked him.

Fish's Eye then smirked snootily. "No hint of makeup, zero sex appeal, and your figure isn't bad," he critiqued. "But that being considered, it's pretty clear who the winner is here."

Usagi glared. "And what's that supposed to mean?" she growled.

Fish's Eye then hugged Mamoru's arm, much to his, Usagi's, and everyone's surprise. "Sorry, but I'm taking him," he confirmed.

"What did you say?!" Usagi snarled as she separated the two with a chop. "Who the heck are you anyway?!"

"Well, let's just say I'm your love rival," replied Fish's Eye. "But frankly, my dear, you're not much of a rival anyway."

Usagi now became so cross that her ordango twin tails were flaring. But before she could say anything back, Fish's Eye glanced at Chibiusa's bag as Diana poked out her head. As soon as she saw her, fear seized Fish's Eye's heart, and she quickly made for the door in retreat.

"Hey! Where are you going?!" demanded Usagi. "I'm not finished with you!"

"Sorry, but something's come up, and I must get going!" Fish's Eye called back. "But I'll see you again soon! Bye, bye!"

And with that, Fish's Eye was out the door and gone, leaving Usagi and the gang baffled.

"Who was that girl?" wondered Rei.

"No idea," said Mamoru.

Fish's Eye didn't stop running until he made it to an alleyway. Then, as he stopped to catch his breath, he couldn't help but curse in annoyance.

"Damn it! I was so close!" he thought. "I didn't expect his girlfriend to show up! And now that I think about it, that girl and her friends were the ones from back at that Giselle play! So why and how is someone as handsome as that guy dating someone as annoying and plain as her?!"

He then took a breath and calmed himself down.

"Not only that, but my heart wouldn't stop pounding," he continued to think. "I... might be falling for him."

He then smirked.

"That's it! Girlfriend or no girlfriend, I'm going to do whatever it takes to get that guy!" he promised himself. "I'll make his heart mine and find Pegasus!"

Back inside the tent, the Amazon Trio were practicing their circus acts. Vesves was training her animals, PallaPalla performed tricks while balancing on a ball, JunJun bounced on a giant trampoline performing flips, and CereCere was on the trapeze zipping through the air.

While they practiced, Zirconia was pacing around her throne, brooding in her thoughts.

"Curse you, Pegasus," she growled lowly. "Whose dreams could you be hiding in? It's frustrating how he keeps himself hidden, and despite the off chance he does appear, he disappears into the air. And to make things worse, those numbskulls keep failing to capture him and deal with those lousy guardians!"

She then felt the bones pop where her legs were, making her groan.

"Damn it all. All this pacing around is killing my feet," she complained as she sat down. "I need to sit."

The Amazon Quartet then approached her.

"You should take it easy, Granny Zirconia," said JunJun. "You're going to end up breaking your back or something."

"Well, you can't blame her, and quite frankly, I don't blame her," said PallaPalla. "Those Guardians have become a real thorn in our sides. But the real big pains are those Amazon Trios. No offense, VesVes."

VesVes shrugged. "None taken. I mean, even I don't intend to cover for them now. If anything, they're nothing but expendable."

"I agree," said PallaPalla. "If we wanted to, I can undo the spell I cast on them and be done with it."

"Now, now, girls," said Zirconia. "I feel the same as you do, but they still have some use." She then smirked darkly. "And when the time comes, they will fulfill their duties as pawns, whether they like it or not."

Later that day, Mamoru was walking by himself to his class. But as he passed some stairs beside a building, Fish's Eye appeared again in human disguise.

"Y-You again!" Mamoru gasped when he saw him.

"Hello, Mamo. That is what they call you, right?" greeted Fish's Eye. "Do you have a minute?"

Mamoru remembering the other day, spoke firmly. "I'm sorry, but I can't. I'm in a hurry."

But as he tried to walk away, Fish's Eye pounced and pinned him to the wall. He then wrapped his arms around a startled Mamoru's neck and tried leaning in for a kiss. However, Mamoru quickly turned away, preventing him.

"Come now, why deny me?" asked Fish's Eye. "It's OK so long as she doesn't know. Don't you find me attractive?"

"That's not the issue here, and I didn't say that either," Mamoru spoke respectfully. "I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in anyone but Usako." He then gently pried his hands away. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go. I'm in a hurry."

He tried to walk away, but Fish's Eye stopped him, indignant and upset.

"But why?! That doesn't make any sense! What's so special about a girl like her?" he protested, putting on as much charm as he could muster. "You're the first one I've ever been serious about!"

He tried leaning in for a kiss again, only to have Mamoru turn away as he gave her a hard stare showing that he wasn't changing his mind.

Fish's Eye conceded. "All right, fine. But at least tell me why. What exactly is so great about Usagi? Why choose her?"

"It's because we both share a deep bond that can't ever be broken or separated," said Mamoru quietly. "Usako's special to me. She can be immature, easily jealous, and a bit of a glutton, but she brings out the best in me and has many things going for her despite her flaws. She's someone I can't live without, and I will never stop loving her or betray her."

Fish's Eye could only stare in confusion as she processed Mamoru's words.

Fish's Eye soon returned to the Dead Moon Circus tent, still thinking about what Mamoru said.

As he returned, Tiger's Eye came up to him. "Hey, Fish's Eye. What's the matter with you?" he asked. "You're back to being doom and gloom again. And have you already taken care of that guy yet? That certainly would explain why you look so pouty."

"I'd rather not talk about it," replied Fish's Eye. "But don't worry. I haven't given up on that guy. I'm sure he's Pegasus's host, and I will make mine. Just wait."

Just then, Hawk's Eye approached them.

"Hey, you two. Madame Zirconia's been looking for us," he said. "She says there's something important she wants us all to see."

Tiger's Eye and Fish's Eye were puzzled, but they followed Hawk's Eye to the main circus ring, where Zirconia awaited them, who was now looking more passive than usual.

"Listen up, Amazon Trio, and listen good," she gruffed. "You are unworthy, but despite that, I called the three of you here because Queen Nehalennia has some words for you."

Immediately, everyone in the circus tent was abuzz with murmurs and whispers in surprise. Even the Amazon Trio couldn't believe their ears.

"Wait, you mean the Queen Nehelenia?" questioned Hawk's Eye. "The one who rules over our people?"

"The most beautiful being in our universe?" asked Tiger's Eye.

"The very same," said Zirconia. "So it would be wise for you all to pay attention to her words." She then raised her hands while closing her eyes as the lights dimmed and a spotlight shone upon her from below. "Now, your majesty, we are ready for you! Queen Nehelenia! Appear and speak to us!"

Strange shadows crept across Zirconia's robes in the middle of her center. Then, they formed the shape of a woman's face, eyes glowing red.

The other members of the Dead Moon Circus bowed while the Amazon Trio could only stare in anxious awe.

"I despise waiting," the face spoke in an icy cold demeanor. "And I have no need for useless servants who constantly fail. If you continue to fail, I cannot guarantee that your lives will go unpunished. You must hurry! Hurry, and find Pegasus!"

The face of shadows then faded away, and the light shining below Zirconia turned off while the others around the ring were relit. The Amazon were all speechless and fearful, feeling their spines running cold.

"Let that serve as your last warning and some motivation," Zirconia warned ominously. "There can be no more failures."

"Y-yes, Madame!" the Amazon Trio acknowledged as the three bowed.

The next day, Mamoru was enjoying his time alone by reading a book while sitting on a bench in Juuban Park. He also had plans to go out with Chibiusa and Usagi and was waiting for them to arrive.

But as he was enjoying his book, he heard a voice coming right beside him.

"Waiting for someone?"

Mamoru jumped to find that Fish's Eye had returned a third time, much to his displeasure.

"Oh, no. Not you again," he sighed.

"Are you meeting with that girl again?" asked Fish's Eye.

Mamoru answered with a nod.

Fish's Eye became a bit more gentle. "Do you enjoy being with her?"

Mamoru also softened. "Yes, I do," he replied. "Every single day through the good and the bad."

"I see," said Fish's Eye. "Then, let me ask you a hypothetical question. What would you do if there were bad people after you? And... what if I promised to protect you from those people? And in return, would you stay with me until they were gone? Would you do it?"

Mamoru was puzzled. "What are you talking about?" he asked.

Fish's Eye, then looked at Mamoru, his heart filled with emotion while his face flushed bright pink. He tried to speak, but the words wouldn't come out.

"What's the matter me? Why am I feeling so nervous?! Just keep up the act! Say what you want to say!"

After plucking up courage, Fish's Eye finally spoke, his voice slightly trembling with emotion.

"I'm serious! I mean every single word of what I said, so, please! Won't you consider it? I can make all of your dreams come true! All you need to do is say yes!"

There was a brief silence until Mamoru gave his response.

"I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about, but being make-believe lovers in exchange for a favor seems pretty sad if you want my opinion. I mean, where's the love and dreams in that? And I appreciate your feelings, but I already told you that Usako's the only one for me. She's my one true love and my dream."

Fish's Eye stared, feeling his heart shatter into pieces. There was a tense pause before his softened expression became cold and filled with anger.

"I see," he said curtly. "If that's how you feel, then "No more Mr. Nice Guy"!"

He snapped his fingers, shedding his disguise and revealing himself, surprising Mamoru. And before he could react, he started the count.

"One!"

His slab sprang up from behind Mamoru.

"Two!"

Metal clamps pinned his wrists and legs.

"Three!"

Mamoru screamed as his dream mirror sprang forth from his chest.

Around that time, Usagi and Chibiusa had just arrived, and when they saw Mamoru in trouble, they were horrified.

"That's Mamo!" cried Usagi.

"We have to help him!" Chibiusa also cried. "Transform, Usagi!"

The two ordango girls sprang into action, shouting their transformation phrase.

"MOON CRISIS MAKE UP!"

Transformation Sequence: Usagi and Chibiusa.

Usagi's Crisis Moon Compact and Chibiusa's Chibi Moon Compact open and their crystals inside them. They both begin to flash until they erupt with pink light. While enveloped in light with their compacts affixed to the middle of their chests, Usagi and Chibiusa stand side by side as pink ribbons made of light burst from their brooches, trailing and flapping in the wind-like capes. First, as she turns around, they wrap around Usagi, forming her leotard, and the same happens to Chibiusa. Next, the two stood back-to-back, bending backward elegantly as their skirt, boots, and ribbons materialized. Then, as they move around face-to-face, Chibiusa kisses Usagi's cheek, and as she pulls away, her tiara and other accessories appear along with Usagi's. The two then open their eyes, their transformations completed; they turn one and strike their signature poses while a yellow moon with pink roses appears in the background.

Mamoru winced in pain as Fish's Eye stood before him, grasping his Dream Mirror.

"You said that girl's your dream, if I'm not mistaken," he spat coldly. "But let's see if Pegasus roams inside of your dreams."

"Hold it right there!" barked a voice. "You leave that handsome man alone!"

Fish's Eye looked back and saw his enemies, Super Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon.

"There are many handsome men in this world, but out of all them, you decided to attack the most handsome man in the world!" scolded Super Sailor Moon. "You have way too good taste for your own good!"

Fish's Eye was puzzled, while Mamoru could only wryly sigh.

"We're the Pretty Guardians who fight for love and justice! I'm Super Sailor Moon!" she continued.

"And I'm Super Sailor Chibi Moon!" she added.

"And now, in the name of the Moon, we'll punish you!" they both finished.

Fish's Eye glared. "Always interfering as always," he spoke coldly as he glanced at his shadow. "Come forth, my Lemures, Tobihaneru the Trampoline Acrobat!"

At the sound of his call, his Lemures emerged forth.

The Lemures was a human-like male that wore white shoes, purple tights, a black unitard, and a white waistcoat with pink sleeves. His skin was as white as a sheet, and he had chestnut brown hair styled into a long bang on the left side of his face. He also wore purple lipstick and a white top hat with a black spade on the side.

"Tobihaneru, please keep them busy for me," said Fish's Eye. "I'm in a bad mood and want to get this over with."

"Consider it done!" acknowledged Tobihaneru as he looked towards his targets. "Now, it's showtime!"

He snapped his fingers, and the ground below Super Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon's feet suddenly became soft and springy like a trampoline, and before the two could react, they were launched into the air and were bounced up and down, unable to stop themselves. Tobihaneru joined them, and as all three landed on the trampoline together, they were launched even higher.

While this happened, Fish's Eye refocused his attention on Mamoru and inserted his head inside the Dream Mirror, searching for Pegasus. Mamoru screamed in pain as his Dream Mirror was violated until Fish's Eye finished pulling himself back out. Much to his dismay, he didn't find Pegasus inside either.

"Damn it! He doesn't have Pegasus in his dreams either!" he growled crossly. "And to make things worse, he rejected me, and I'll probably be in trouble once the madame finds out!"

Seeing that there was no reason for him to stick around, Fish's Eye summoned his wormhole of water and jumped inside, leaving the area, causing his slab to disappear and Mamoru to crumble to the ground unconscious.

Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon saw this from above.

"Mamo! We got to get to him!" cried Super Sailor Moon. "But how?!"

Then, Super Sailor Chibi Moon realized. "Wait a second! I completely forgot!"

As she was launched, she stopped herself in midair, using her powers to float. Super Sailor Moon saw this and realized, too, and also started hovering.

When Tobihaneru saw this, he was surprised. "What the! How are you two doing that?!" he exclaimed.

"Isn't it obvious? We can fly!" said Super Sailor Moon with a smirk. "So your trampoline powers are useless!"

The two super guardians touched down on the ground, and while touching the gem on her forehead, Super Sailor Moon used an attack.

"MOON TWILIGHT FLASH!"

A blinding beam of light shot from the gem and blasted the Lemures right in the face. It didn't destroy Tobihaneru, but it did blind him as the Lemures screamed in pain while holding his face.

Both guardians summoned their Cutie Moon rods aiming them at their enemy, and unleashed their combined finishing move.

"MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!"

The two fired their mighty streams of rainbow shards, striking their mark, and Tobihaneru was blasted into oblivion.

The two then rushed over to Mamoru.

"Mamo! Are you OK?!" asked Super Sailor Moon worriedly.

"Please say something, Mamo!" begged Super Sailor Chibi Moon.

Mamoru opened his eye as he regained consciousness. "Super Sailor Moon. Super Sailor Chibi Moon," he mumbled as she smiled. "Don't worry. I'm all right. Thanks to you two."

The two ordango guardians could only smile as they hugged Mamoru in relief.

In the hidden space of the circus tent, Zirconia stood in front of the mirror once more, conversing with Queen Nehelenia.

"My Queen, I apologize that you had to show yourself to those fools," said Zirconia. "And I know you've been growing impatient, but I can only ask for a bit more time."

"I don't like to be kept waiting, Zirconia," the mirror spoke. "But in this case, I don't mind waiting, for the time is nearly upon us to execute a part of my plan for revenge."

"What do you mean by that?" asked Zirconia.

The mirror chuckled maliciously. "Let's just say that the time is close to using that "key" I've mentioned. And once we've obtained it, not even those fools from the White Kingdom will stand a chance."

The mirror began to laugh, its surface glowing with swirling darkness.

"Finally, after all this time, the time for my vengeance is coming. And when it does, I'll see that my darkness will swallow all your subjects and show you that darkness triumphs over light... Serenity. And I know just where to begin."

While the darkness swirled over the mirror's surface, a strange symbol formed. It was a perfect circle colored purple with a red slit in the middle giving it the appearance of a demon's eye.
