Chapter 4: The Devil's Pistols
Nagumo Hajime takes his usual path to school, being more aware of his surroundings as he walks through the gate to the entrance. Nagumo's thoughts were still fresh from last night, interrogating that fallen angel.
So the supernatural world exists and is hidden in plain sight of all the non-believers. Makes some sense now that he thinks about it, Nagumo feeling the sunlight weaken him and take a deep breath of fresh air. Having spent his time last night studying all he could about devils and angels.
So from what he learns from the fallen guy, Devils are beings that originated from the Underworld created by the Original Lucifer in order to create a military force to destroy God and the Angels then take over the world, cliché but whatever there nobles of the 72 Pillars or so. Which the devil families with special magic or something, there class system as well from High-Class Devil to the countless armies of Middle and Low Class Devil soldiers under them.
And Reincarnated Devils are pretty much unfortunate people turn into devils for numbers due to Devil's low numbers. So pretty much a very low class in Devil society.
Nagumo researches the weakness devils have, a common weakness he found for Devils is that they cannot go near or get involved with anything that has to do with the Biblical God as far as he is aware, whenever he tries to pray to god he suffers headaches. Research showed Devils and demons can't go near anything related to anything holy, or anything close to holy objects like crucifixes, holy water, and the Bible. That much was obvious.
They are also susceptible to light which significantly drains them of their energy once hit, seeing as Nagumo signs in relief after going inside the school before walking towards his classroom.
Nagumo also researches fallen angels and angels, they are natural enemies to devils, their holy energy and light could severely wound, if not kill, a Devil. Nagumo is not sure if illness or viruses still affect his devil body the same as humans.
He is not going to test it, Nagumo thinks as he steps down on his desk and gets out his books. Research on the 72 pillars online gave him a list of names to 72 demons and their legions. But the fallen angels say the 72 pillars are more like families with a shit ton of servants and slaves. But nearly half the pillars were wiped out journeying the war.
Nagumo thinks for a moment on the supernatural until he feels a familiar presence entering the classroom. Looking over he sees Rias Gremory and Akeno Himejima walk into the classroom, all the students in the classroom stare at the duo and give them all the attention which they waved off or gave polite responses.
Nothing new but he notices them giving him and looks over every now and then. When he looks at them, they notice him looking and they give him a smile as Nagumo looks away, going back to his books instead. As the teacher came into the classroom, everyone took their seats.
Nagumo remembers the feeling from Gremory and Himejima. Remembering the names from the 72 pillars he recalls one of them name was Gremory. So Rias is the high class devil while Akeno probably her servant or slave.
Either Rias reincarnated him or the other one did, he is aware Rias is president of the Occult Research Club. Which makes a weird sort of sense.
The other presence he felt was from the student council so logically it would be Souna Shitori, a high class devil would be in charge of the council after all. However it is hard to say which one he's enslaved to.
Nagumo thinks about the situation he is in as he pays somewhat attention to the class, while drawing in his books.

Nagumo was packing his books and other stuff as he finished getting ready for lunch, fixing up the books as he recalled the details in his books, based on other pistols and other gun designs he was inspired by, tonight he is going to make the pistols.
He is going to have to research and watch a few videos on gun making and what not. Making the material and other stuff will be issues. But with his dreams and video guides he should be able to make more guns.
Maybe he should visit Shizuka, tell her how he is doing, should he tell her about the supernatural though?
"Hello, is Nagumo Hajime-kun here?" A male voice asked as the blond haired Kiba Yuuto entered the classroom, half of the girls screaming in joy which made Nagumo frown annoyed.
"And what does the school 'prince' want with me, shouldn't you be dealing with your fangirls" Nagumo said, Kiba smiled regardless as he came to a stop before the him he spoke
"I need you to come with me…"
"Why…?" Nagumo replied annoyed, wanting to go to lunch before Kiba added
"Gremory wants to talk to you…" Kiba answered as Nagumo raised an eyebrow.
"Really now" Nagumo ponders; he sees Gremory was the one that reincarnated him.
"Fine…As long as it's not for some sort of demonic ritual. I guess I can humour her" Kiba's smile faltered again at the joke as Nagumo packs his things in his bag before following Kiba.
Nagumo slips his hands in his pockets with his bag over his shoulder as he follows Kiba to the old school building.
His eyes roamed over the old school building, taking in how creepy it looked.
'I guess it make sense for this place to be a devil base but you think a high class devil would have better taste then some rundown piece of shit from the outside' Nagumo thought, looking unimpressed at the sight as Kiba spoke as he opened the door
"Buchou is here." Kiba said as Nagumo frowned before he followed Kiba inside heading up to the second floor.
"Buchou, I have brought him" Kiba spoke again
"Come in." Rias' voice called through the wooden door, Kiba opening the door for Nagumo who wandered in and quickly swept his gaze around the room, all the supernatural items around. Honestly his place looks like a murder scene than anything, he couldn't help but mutter.
"This is a dingy place" Nagumo can't help but say as Rias frowned from where she stood before her desk, Akeno giggling at the response.
"It's not so bad once you get used to it" Akeno replied, Koneko arched an eyebrow at Nagumo and Kiba entered, closing the door behind them.
"Then you need a new place cause this place looks like someone died in here" Nagumo said as Akeno's smile faltered slightly as he continued to look around the room from where he stood near the doorway.
"Have a seat Nagumo, is it ok if I call you Nagumo" Rias asked Nagumo as he shrugs taking the seat.
"Call me what you like, I don't really care," Nagumo said, uncaring as Rias looked a little unsure.
"Al-right then, Nagumo, do you believe in the supernatural?" Rias said, as Nagumo raised an eyebrow at her, that's how she wants to start.
"Somewhat, I'm aware there are things that can't be explained through normal means' ' Nagumo said as Rias nodded her head.
"Tha-ts good, Nagumo… We, the Occult Research Club, welcome you as-" Rias was going to continue but Nagumo stopped that.
"As a Devil, I know. Can we skip the basic introductions, and tell me how this peerage stuff works" Nagumo cuts her off to Rias, backing up with a look of surprise as Kiba, Akeno and Koneko look shocked at him.
"Y-You knew?" Rias stuttered in shock as Nagumo raised a brow at her.
"Well it's hard to forget a giant ass monster killed me off a week or so, then feeling weird when standing in the sun while freaking out over feeling every demonic and holy energy around me" Nagumo narrows his eyes at her as she looks shocked.
"Do you not know how to manage your territory, first a stay devil kills me, and then you leave your new servant alone not telling them he was reincarnated devil, has magic now and could be attack cause apparently we are at a cold war with fallen angels who are more than eager to spill blood, tell me are you always this incompetent" Nagumo said in anger at her stupid decisions. Nagumo noticed Kiba getting into a ready stance from out of the side of his vision, Koneko setting down her plate of sweets as well; he caught sight of Akeno giving him a wary look as well.
"…" Rias tried to speak only to find the words not coming, wondering if that was how she really came across Nagumo.
"Were you even aware of me? Discovering magic scared the shit out of me, I thought I was insane when I was freaking out, I could have turn myself into a bomb or cause a disaster to everyone, for a high class devil you really don't know how to manage your servants" Nagumo said to her Rias felt pain lance her heart at Nagumo words, having originally thought it would be best to let him continue to live normally before she brought him into the supernatural.
"I-I'm sorry, Nagumo" The fact that Nagumo looks didn't change didn't help what she was feeling at the moment.
"It doesn't matter now, what do I need to do now that I'm your slave" Nagumo said crossing his arms as Rias takes a deep breath, trying to calm down.
"Youu-r a not my slave, you my subordinate, as a newly reincarnated devil, you need to increase you power under me and your standing in the underworld, you can increase you power by handing out flyers and doing contracts for people" Rias shakily explains as Nagumo raised a brow.
"Flyers?" Nagumo asked the contract thing he gets, researching devil deals for people and praying on their basic functions in life, but flyers.
"Yes, that's usually a familiar job, but you'll have to do it yourself for now" Rias explains slowly, worried she might offend him as Nagumo nods.
"Right got to start at the bottom, increase my power and standing, it is not like other high class devils encourage servants to raise the ranks" Nagumo said sarcastically to Rias flinch and the others look unconformable, as Nagumo gets up.
"Well it's been fun, thank you for finally introducing yourself, I'll start my flyer duties tomorrow, hope I don't get attacked again" Nagumo said as the group flinched.
"Nagumo I'm sorry for what happened to you and what you went through" Rias said, as Nagumo shrugs.
"Just get better Rias, there are fallen angels around here, best keep an eye on them" Nagumo warns as he walks out of the room, leaving the ORC club to their thoughts.

Nagumo looks at the workspace he made as he pulls out all the books, material he created and more importantly his computer showing how to create a railgun. Since talking to his new 'master' now Nagumo needs to learn more about magic and get his weapons before his so-called 'master' puts him in a situation that forces him to die.
Nagumo knows he could have done better with introduction but really couldn't help but point out her stupid decision on her current situation, really letting you servant wonder around without a guide to give them the basics. Nagumo was lucky he didn't die a second time.
Nagumo shakes his head as he goes back to his gun making, spending a few hours on creating the gun with the help of his dreams and YouTube videos he was able to make functioning pistols.
Or at least the parts of it once he makes the rail gun he makes the pistol for it.
The concept of a railgun consists of propelling a conducting object along 2 conducting rails due to a magnetic force and an electric force. The direction of the propelling force is due to electromagnetic fields called the Lorentz force.
A charged particle moving with a velocity, through an electric field perpendicular to a magnetic field will experience a force.
That is the basic overview on the railgun, and it is actually easy to make, as long as you get the right material and power needed for experiments. To make it function is a bit tricky but not impossible, normal people online can already make the real life railguns, but they're not at all practical and are more expensive to maintain then getting a normal gun.
But that America and this is Japan, with very tight gun laws. But nothing a little magic won't change.
Nagumo follows the video and while reading the books, putting the metal and magnets together as he uses Transmute to fuse them together to make the inside of his gun, looking over the design of the interior of the gun he shapes it to insure there are no issues with it.
Doing ok so far Nagumo grabs the base of the experiment's, so far it is just a handle with a few magnets to it, it is pretty bare bones, not even covered but it is a test after all.
Nagumo left outside his father's garage as he saw no one around, putting an Illusion around him to hide himself and the amount of noise he was going to make. Nagumo names down the sights of his railgun at a rock down sights.
Nagumo aims the gun with one hand as he feels his other hand gather with electricity. He recently developed the Lightning Field skill; it allows him to produce an electrical/lightning field from his own body. He can't be expelled directly from the body, but redirected external if proper conduction is used. An ability his alternative self-used to great effect and now so will he.
Channelling lighting to his other hand, Nagumo puts the little metal ball small enough to fit the prototype as he holds it with both hands, using the Lighting field to channel the right voltage to the gun he pulls the trigger.

BLAAAAAAAA
The ball shoots through the prototype at fast speed, destroying the rock. Nagumo looked surprised at the damage to the rock, but didn't think it was that strong. Then again he uses magic compared to the small amounts of electricity.
Imagine what the power this could have with bullets and gunpowder.
Nagumo smiles at his work as he walks back inside, using Transmute to put the prototype finishing touches one before he adds the parts to his first gun. Putting the parts together as he slowly used Transmute to shape the metal and texture of his first pistol, using Mineral Appraisal and Fusion to insure all the bolts and shapes inside the gun stay intact.
Putting the gun together as he looks over it, getting the feel for the gun as he weighs it in his hand, a little heavy but nothing he can work on. He should increase his physical fitness; maybe use magic or something to cheat.
Problems for another time, as he looks at his first gun.

Liking the design and creating it he walk outside to test it, aim at another rock, he gets into pistol grip on the gun, holding it with two hands, grabbing the clip fill with metal balls he made early to put into the pistol he clocks the gun, and channels Lighting Field into the conduction, feeling the pistol charge up with power he pulls the trigger.

BLAAAAA
The Metal ball destroy both the rock and the ground behind it, leaving a dirt hole to be see, Nagumo smiles at the success but notice the gun is smoking,
"Ok the pistol works but not fully practical yet" Nagumo notes using Appraisal to see some of the parts have overheated, the material he made holds the gun but he might need to put more work into it.
Still it progresses and he smiles in pride at his creation.
The Supernatural world won't know what shot them.

Rias sighed with her head in her hands as she sat in the clubroom, still shaking slightly at Nagumo as Akeno set a cup of tea down before her
"Are you alright, Rias?" Akeno spoke, not liking to see Rias like this.
"No…I screwed up with Nagumo didn't I?" Rias spoke, glancing up at her Queen who had a conflicted expression on her face as she replied
"Yes and no… You didn't take into account his feelings about when he learned the truth and so you were beaten to the punch by someone else because you wanted to give him time to adjust. You could have handled it better" Akeno explained, seeing it from Nagumo's point of view.
"I didn't think he would learn everything before I could tell him…" Rias groaned as she set her head on the desk, jerking up in surprise as Akeno spoke with a frown
"Rias, you waited too long to try and work out how to approach him and train him, now I don't think he has a high opinion of you" Akeno said, seeing Nagumo not give Rias or her the look they normal get more the boys, show he glances at them but he wasn't blushing or anything.
Rias stared at her Queen as understanding formed on her face as she hung her head again as she wondered aloud
"How did Nagumo know about the three factions though…? No one supernatural has approached him?" Rias thinks before looking at Akeno.
"Was he approached by anyone?" Rias asked Akeno who shrugs.
"We all saw him, he didn't do anything besides read books and write stuff down, nothing out of the ordinary and no one approached him" Akeno shrugs, remembering her and the others spying on Nagumo.
Besides him being jumpy in a few areas he didn't do much, they assume he was getting used to his body.
"Was he doing any magic or anything at all?" Rias asked, seeing if Nagumo was a special skill or something he discovered.
"Beside the demonic magic he has, which is only above average or so, nothing much" Akeno tries to think, while seeing the magical aura around Nagumo power up but nothing around him changed.
"Guess we'll just make it up to him" Rias sighs as Akeno gives her a mischievous smile.
"Ooo and how would you do that, give him a peek or a little kiss, maybe I could try and make it up to him" Akeno smiles at the thought as Rias shakes her head at her Queen before thinking about what to do with Nagumo.
