Chapters are coming together quickly.

Note that I have a poll up on my profile.

It is about the title of this remake.

Whether it should keep its name, be called Guiding Light, or something else?

I would like to hear from you on this.

If you do say something of than keeping its name or Guiding Light, do leave a comment about what you think.

Might make a poll about that later.

Those without profiles, leave a comment with your thought.

Now onto the chapter.

Red like roses fills my dreams

And brings me to the place you rest

White is cold and always yearning

Burdened by a royal test

Black the beast descends from shadows

Yellow beauty burns

It was as he expected…

There were no clues to be found. Not a trace or hint he could track down that made any logical sense.

Not that it hadn't been scoured already for other reasons.

But for his purposes, there was nothing of notable use.

It looked like an ordinary forest, just the campus' distance away…

So Velvet, while not considerably far away, well away from the confines and safety of Beacon, if something was dangerous…

Like this so-called Apathy that could rend people asunder through fear alone!

What kind of creature was that?

She did say she liked to keep her training secret, which he understood upon hearing there was a tournament coming this year…

Competition did breed stronger soldiers.

"It didn't help, did it?" Velvet fidgetted, flushed with shame.

"Mah, it's fine." Naruto flashed a patent grin, shaking his head. "Didn't expect it to. There isn't much to go on out here."

"Too many scents." Blake scrunched her nose, crossing her arms with a scowl. "Huntsman must have been prowling the area. I think the idea of an Apathy this close to Beacon… To Vale. It sent them into a frenzy. If there was anything here, it has long been covered up."

Naruto furrowed his brow. His head quickly twitched toward Velvet, catching her nod.

That only further confirmed his suspicion…

With all the peculiar movements of that bow on her head.

Velvet's strange reaction to Blake's name and Blake's response to Velvet.

Now, Blake having a heightened sense of smell?

Yeah, he was sure she was one of the animal people, too…

Faunus, he believed they were called…

"Yeah, that's what I'm seeing." Naruto shook his head at the thought, frustration settling in. "Even if there was anything to track here, it has been trampled. However…"

"You found something?" Velvet's face brightened, her ears perking up. "Good, I was worried… Is that blood?!"

"Kind of," Naruto responded, pressing his thumb against his canine and cutting it open, much to Velvet's chagrin. "Um, yes? …Easier to explain by showing."

"Okay…" Velvet nervously nodded while Blake fully turned her attention onto him.

Her golden eyes gleamed upon him expectantly.

Great, now he had to show off!

A sly smirk crept on his lips.

He couldn't do this back home… So he could take his time with it.

Show them how it works.

Boar.

Dog.

Bird.

Monkey.

Ram.

The seals were deliberate. And with a shout, he crouched and planted his hand firmly onto the ground.

"Kuchiyose!"

A seal spread around his hand, the contract forming with the ground and activating.

Rifting a hole in space and time.

If his theory was correct…

It could transcend worlds!

Which meant if he was reverse summoned, he could go home!

Smoke rose around him.

Velvet jumped back, alarmed. Fearful of what just happened, having never seen something like this before.

Blake stood firm, her eyes sparkling, seeing something similar with the scroll. Wanting to know what was behind the smoke!

Yet Naruto…

Squinted as nothing appeared.

"What?" Naruto gnashed his teeth, clutching his fist tightly at the sight before him.

This wasn't what he was expecting!

He was sure he saw Sasuke summon that Falcon after Kaguya rifted open that dimension with them in it!

Was there something he was missing?!

Was her dimension portal ability somehow different from this situation?

"Was something supposed to happen?" Blake scowled, his voice dripping with disappointment.

"Give me a moment! I'm trying to figure something out!" Naruto retorted, rubbing his temple in frustration, causing Blake to stumble at his angered response.

"Sorry!" Blake shrunk back while Velvet nervously twitched, realizing what must have happened was not supposed to happen.

Naruto pursed his lips, furrowing his brow.

What else could be different?

Was it because there was a still open pathway to their world?

Was that why it worked?

Naruto growled.

There were too many variables! All because of that damn Ōtsutsuki…

His eyes flickered!

Maybe that was it!

Worth a shot, even if he only had for the briefest moment!

He doubted he would need it later!

It was slowly recharging naturally, and he was looking into finding a way to quickly recharge it!

What was the worst that could happen?

Naruto inhaled.

Calmed himself.

Closed his eyes.

Let the world come to him.

Thoughts of his master…

His father…

His mother…

…Neji…

Honor their memories.

The sun on his palm vividly brightened in the palm of his hand.

His eyes snapped open, gold in coloration with a cross shape pupil

Drew blood on his thumb once more, and the seals were made.

"Kuchiyose!"

Smoke rose once more, his eyes fading back to their usual hues.

A broad smile as a small toad with what looked like purple rollers on its head stood before him.

It worked this time.

"What?" The toad shouted in surprise, looking shocked at what happened before its eyes laid upon Naruto. "Naruto? …This is impossible!"

"Huh?" Naruto tilted his head, his ears flattening as his lips curled. "Shima, what are you talking about? It took a bit of work to get you here, sure…"

His words died on his tongue as the small toad known as Shima leapt onto his chest, wrapping her tiny arms around his neck.

Embracing him with tears in her eyes.

"You're alive!"

His skin became ashen upon those words.

His body coasted as he carefully clutched the bawling toad clutched to him.

Naruto knew he had been gone, maybe for some time…

But for everyone to assume he was dead?

Ignoring the wide-eyed stares and open mouths of Blake and Velvet, attempting to process what they were seeing and hearing, Naruto patted Shima on the back. "Mah, I don't think I was gone that long, Shima?"

"You were buried! All of Konoha turned out for your funeral!" Shima exclaimed, burying herself into the crook of his neck. "I lost Jiraiya-boy, Pa nearly bit the big fly in the sky, and then you! …And now you are here…"

Naruto stiffened.

He was buried?

He had a funeral?!

Wait, if that was the case…

That meant…

They had a body…

Then how was he here?!

This had been a long day, and the sun was only setting on the horizon.

Let a cute girl spend the night at his camp after she was kind enough to step in for him and try and help him, and then help him with his search.

Got accused of being a witch for something he thought was normal and had to explain himself…

Got confirmation that he was in another world.

Learned what an AI was and freaked out over one…

And now that he died back home and that was sent him over here…

Naruto let out a deep breath as his eyes glistened sorrowfully.

Couldn't get any worse.

"Are you okay?" Velvet asked concern etched across her face while Blake sat on a nearby bench next to him at the entrance of Beacon, looking equally worried.

"Nope!" Naruto lifted his head and flashed a brilliant smile at both girls, causing them to flinch.

Glancing at one another, they were alarmed at the reaction.

Unsure how to respond to such a chipper response.

"Uh," Blake fidgetted, her bow twitching anxiously as she laid her hands in her lap. "Okay. It's good to admit that you aren't doing fine… But you don't have to hide it…"

"Who says I'm hiding anything?" Naruto responded, his eyebrow lifting. "Sure. I've hit rock bottom. But, meh. What's the point of dwelling on all that sad stuff? I'm standing here, aren't I? That means I can do something about it! So my goal hasn't changed! Gonna find my way back home and set everything straight! I'm alive, dammit!"

Placing her hand on her chest, taken aback by his words, Blake threw her head back before shrinking her head, grimacing.

Her eyes glistened.

She wished she could possess that kind of strength…

Positivity…

If only…

Velvet, while taken aback, found herself in an awkward situation.

Her body was doing it again!

Her cheeks flushed.

Her heart thumped wildly!

Her stomach floated!

What was wrong with her?

What was this?

She had vegetable soup earlier!

Although it was dinner time…

"If there were any doubts it was you, you have put them to rest." Shima patted Naruto on the head, adjusting to the strange appendages he possessed as she relaxed on his shoulder. "But we have a pressing issue… I can't seem to reverse the summoning process."

Naruto sighed, turning his right arm and exposing his palm for Shima to see. "Yeah, that would be me. Couldn't summon you here the usual method. Unfortunately, had to use my special blood to do it. …Probably has something to do with her, after all… Anyway, been messing around with it a bit lately and drained it entirely, so it will be a day or two before I can even send you back."

Gripping his hand immediately, studying the mark on his palm, Shima scowled before genuinely beaming toward Naruto. "You truly were the Child of Destiny… Who saved our world."

"He what?!" Blake exclaimed shrilly, falling off the bench while Velvet stood stiff, unable to process what she heard.

"Mah, one of two." Naruto waved off her admission, thoroughly embarrassed by her glowing praise. "Had help, ya know? A lot of it! Would have gotten nowhere with Kakashi-sensei and Sakura… And Sasuke, after I stopped him from destroying everything… Wait! If it takes our special blood, perhaps through the contract and Sasuke's help, we can reverse-summon me?! "

Shima winced, turning away. "About that…"

Naruto squinted his gaze and repressed the groan he felt building.

Why did he get the sense he wouldn't like what he was about to hear?

"Sasuke has vanished ever since your funeral." Shima lowered her head, despondent. "The last time anyone seen him... He was standing over your grave… Lost to the world around him."

Naruto's stomach twisted.

He gnashed his teeth.

He knew what was wrong.

Sasuke had lost his sight again…

Fallen back into the darkness without him there.

He needed to return and set him straight immediately!

His attention was snapped, and he stared straight into two golden eyes.

Blake now straddled the other seat on the bench on her hands and knees…

Her face mere inches from his.

"Want to run that being the savior or your world part one more time?!" Blake loudly stated, her eyes shimmering wildly with various mixed emotions. "That's a story that needs to be told!"

Naruto scrunched his nose at her bewildering behavior…

Was this what Sasuke called fangirl behavior?

Naruto's lips quivered. He refrained from laughter as he lapped up the attention.

He could get used to this!

"Interesting…" A voice chuckled in amusement, looking upon a blue tablet-size hologram screen in their hand, sipping on a mug with their left. "I've been expecting you for quite some time. Alas, time is a meaningless concept for some…"

Snapping his head back as the scenery in his feed cut out. "Oh dear… Must have figured out how I was watching."

Repressing a shiver, he shook his head and thoroughly sipped his cocoa. Sighing, he stood from his chair, lifted his cane, and slowly approached the elevator in his office. "I do have other methods, but for now, this game must wait…"

"There is a much more important matter to attend to tonight."

"Shima! Don't embarrass me in front…" Naruto blanched, seeing her long tongue lash out disgustingly before hearing a crack. "What is that?"

"Something I just noticed." Shima scowled, hopping off Naruto's shoulder and examining the sparking wreckage of a tiny object. "I heard buzzing earlier. I noticed this strange thing. I don't believe you could hear Naruto-boy… I kept my eye on it, unsure, but now I'm positive. It had been circling us for some time."

"That's a drone for Vale's security force." Velvet frowned, furrowing her brow at hearing it had been watching them. "They're often used around campus to monitor our progress during training missions and exams. The only people that would have the authority to use them…"

"Oh, I know who's behind it." Naruto stomped the machine, crushing it beneath his sandal, thoroughly displeased. "So that's how he was monitoring our conversation."

"You want to play this game. Let's see how you stack up when I get going."

"But Yang!" A more petite teenage girl with neck-length black hair with a gentle rose tint highlighting through, especially at tips, parted on the left and pouted toward her sister, stepping onto her motorcycle. "It's not like I meant to follow you here!"

"No buts, Ruby!" A stoutly built young woman with luxuriously long and flowing blonde hair that reached her calves crossed her arms and sternly glared down at her younger sibling as she slid on her helmet. "You have no idea how much trouble I'm gonna be in once Dad hears that both of us were here!"

"But I didn't fight anyone! You did!" Ruby complained, squinting at her sister as she secured her brown over a short yellow crop top, securing it.

"You think that matters to Dad!" Yang bellowed at Ruby, slipping on dark-shaded aviator glasses as she revved the engine. "All that's gonna matter is that if we both show up to the station, we'll both have our IDs taken! He'll ream me for the rest of my life for that, Rubes!"

Ruby winced.

She didn't want to admit it.

But Yang was right.

Instead, she crossed her arms over her black blouse portion of her dress and turned her head away, scowling. "Well, what am I supposed to do here while I wait?"

"You got here on your own, didn't you?" Yang commented, tipping her glasses down at her sister, noticing her somber appearance.

And her lilac eyes glistened at the pouting figure. She sighed before chuckling.

They didn't have much time left to spend with one another after this week.

Ruby was just trying to spend their remaining time together.

"Okay, fine. I'll give you a ride." Yang rolled her eyes, seeing her sister's head snap up joyfully.

Seeing her gorgeous, innocent smile of hers radiate positivity.

There was nothing like it around.

"Once I take care of this business." Yang groaned, pointing back at the bar. "Gotta inform the proper people about what happened. Otherwise, I'm in trouble for messing up this place."

"You have to stop being so reckless." Ruby chided, looking remorseful as she did; her hands traced the silver rose pendant on her belt as she spoke. "I know you are looking for your mom. I understand. I want to find her, too. There is so much I want to talk to her about… About my mom… But, you know what dad says…"

"So what?!" Yang fired back, glaring at her younger sister, causing her to flinch and stumble back. "He also tells me to dress more modestly all the time. No one can handle me!"

"I'm sorry…" Ruby muttered an apology upon seeing her sister upset, looking away crestfallen.

Yang glowered. Grunting, she revved her engine again, pointing over at a shop. "I'll meet you over there when I'm done, okay…"

"I'm sorry, too. Didn't mean to snap at you." Bumblebee slowly pulled away, Yang driving off into the distance as her apology hung.

Leaving Ruby alone in the street as the autumn winds blew, her attention fading from her sister…

And falling onto a fateful store as she strode forward.

"Wonder if they have any good CDs?"

"This is a strange place."

"You got that right," Naruto commented, bounding from rooftop to rooftop, checking out the elaborate highway nearby.

Reaching into his pocket and pulling out two white cards, Naruto strained his eyes at the objects Velvet gave him. "This is seemingly currency."

"My, how strange!" Shima exclaimed, admiring the cards from Naruto's shoulder. "Do you know how much they are worth?"

"It depends on the card?" Naruto shrugged, unsure of half of what Velvet tried to explain to him as she handed him what she could spare of her Lien. "She gave me ten cards, which is about ten thousand Lien. If my earlier encounter goes by anything, Lien and Ryo are roughly the same. At the very least, it's something to buy some food… Ramen sounds good right now."

"Jiraiya-boy did say that was your favorite." Shima fondly remembered, eyes glistening from the memories. "I miss him…"

"So do I." Naruto smiled, closing his eyes in reverence to his former mentor.

A peaceful silence held for several moments as the sun faded…

And the moon's presence emblazoned upon them.

"My word…"

"Yeah, that's something, alright," Naruto responded, his breath hitched, looking upon the lunar phenomenon before him, attempting to process what he saw.

If he hadn't already confirmed several times over, this wasn't his home…

This would have done it.

"What could have caused such destruction?" Shima gazed upon the shattered moon, her eyes wide with horrified reverence.

Naruto stood, his breath still held.

A thought crossed his mind.

One he didn't like.

His eyes dilated.

Ears lowered.

And he growled.

"Something with the power to bring me here…"

"Mah, this store has got to sell ramen!"

"You said the last several times, my boy." Shima gently chastised her summoner, a warm smile on her face. "I know it is a comfort. Perhaps it is time to look for something else. It is late."

"Never!" Naruto defiantly squished his face and glared at Shima, earning a chuckle from the toad, strolling toward the story. "By night's end, I will have ramen, or I will die trying! It has been too long since I have feasted on the heavenly banquet!"

Shima chuckled, amused, watching her summoner's antics.

Oh, how much the last two were similar.

How much he shared with his father when he was serious.

All three shared that trait.

"Mah, it looks packed in there," Naruto complained, noticing a lot of men in black suits, squinting his eyes at the scene before frowning. "Wait, this doesn't seem quite right…"

Squinting his eyes, not sure what it was they were doing with those tubes, Naruto scowled.

That was an awful lot of multi-colored powder several men were gathering…

And that one in the back…

Looked like he had something in his hand…

Seemed familiar.

Like an advanced version of a weapon he'd seen before…

One that civilians used for self-defense…

"Did I just walk in on a robbery?" Naruto bemoaned, gazing up into the heavens, asking for assistance.

He sighed and scratched his ear lobe.

Well, it wasn't like he couldn't sit idly by.

Someone was in trouble, and he had the power to do something.

But why was he always the one around when…

Glass shattered as one of the men in black suits went flying through.

Several more shatters followed as several more men were put on their asses on the street.

A black and red blur swiftly followed. A young teenage girl wearing a black dress with red frilly trim daintily landed in front of them…

Holding the most wicked, techno-advanced scythe he had ever seen before!

…Like he had ever seen one before…

That thing was awesome!

"Huh, neat." Naruto crossed his arms, his eyes gleaming at the display unfolding before him.

Might want to take couple things back with me...

"You are over your head, little girl!" Several of the suits leapt from the windows, one attempting to open the door he was standing, trying to push past him.

Naruto slammed the door back in his face, knocking him over in front of a man in a white suit, auburn hair, and a stylish bowler hat.

Unconscious.

"Well, that wasn't very cordial of you." The man carefully stepped over his lackey, not pressing his way forward, but casually walked out the front door.

Naruto allowed it, side-eyeing the man.

"Wasn't trying to be." Naruto stepped away, giving him his space.

He wasn't a threat.

Naruto would deal with him in a moment…

He wanted to watch this.

Naruto contained a grin.

Well, if she didn't deal with him.

"Rude. The man in the white suit tapped his cane against the street, waving his right in the air flamboyantly while Naruto gave his full intention to the action. "Just ignore me, why don't you! I'm the most important person here, don't you know! I'm the Kingpin of Vale!"

"Hey, come on! I'm trying to make an impression here! Pay attention, would you?!"

Naruto's eyes flickered in astonishment, ignoring the words coming out of his mouth.

The girl was fast.

He wouldn't have predicted her to be that quick.

She was like lightning!

Zipping through the pathetic henchmen like it was nothing.

Far faster than a lot of shinobi he knew.

This was an intriguing development.

But what came next shocked him.

She swung that devastation weapon of hers at each of the henchmen…

And made contact with them…

With the blade!

They could do nothing to stop it, unable to see the blade coming…

And it didn't even cut them!

Only knocked them back and sent them flying!

His eyes narrowed.

This was a startling revelation.

Either she had no strength behind her swings…

Impossible given the velocity…

Her blade was so dull it couldn't cut…

With that velocity, it should have cut through regardless…

Or there was something else he was missing here.

But what?

"Naruto-boy…" Shima scowled, Naruto's eyes meeting with hers, knowing she, too, was calculating what she had just seen. "The air here is thick with something that makes it difficult to draw in natural energy…"

"Did that frog just talk?!"

Ignoring the comments from the peanut gallery, Naruto scowled.

He was more than already inundated with that issue. He hadn't figured out what it was, but drawing natural energy was challenging in a place like this. He could do it if he held still for twice the length or had a clone do it like before…

So, where was Shima…

"But I was able to draw forth on just enough to sense what was happening. Their spirits absorbed the blows. " Shima recounted what she had felt, her eyes shimmering. "Fascinating! This place is unique and wonderful! While here, we should research to see if anything valuable could be learned and brought home!"

Naruto frowned.

He did remember Blake mention something about Aura when talking about her acceptance into Beacon and her talk about Grimm…

Guess it was something he should research while here…

"Alright, I am done with this!" The man in a white suit strode forward with a purpose, lifting his cane, pointing it directly at the teenager the exact moment she finished with his men, almost as if he had, perfectly predicting where she would come to a rest. "As fun as this has been, it's time to teach you what happens when you step into the big leagues, Little Red!"

"The name is Roman Torchwich. Remember my name as you burn in hell!" A red spark burst from the tip of his cane like a firework, launching toward the surprised teenager, only able to put her scythe in front to stop it as it exploded.

As flames erupted all around her, the man cackled maniacally…

Until he heard a slow clap…

"Seems like you are full of yourself."

"Now you pay attention to me!" Roman turned to face Naruto…

Only to see the young teenage girl standing beside him…

Eyes wide with bewilderment, spinning around in a daze.

"I am so dizzy right now!"

"Replacement will do that to ya." Naruto chuckled, catching her by her red cape before she tripped over her feet. "At least it isn't the Body Flicker… That makes ya vomit the first time."

Rapidly spinning around towards where he had blasted Little Red, Roman's eyes squinted dangerously.

The flames flickered and faded…

And an ashen log was where her corpse should have been!

The hell kind of witchcraft did he use to do this?!

He knew a witch, and she couldn't do this!

Heh, he knew a witch…

More like a bitch…

"If I may take your words…" Roman went cold, hearing something he didn't want to be spoken to him with genuine tenacity. "As fun as this has been, it's time to teach you a lesson when you step into the big leagues."

Staunchly standing, squaring his feet as he turned back around. His eyes peered directly into the gaze of the blonde who stopped his attack.

Humorous as he was just moments before…

That daunting glint in his eyes.

Nah, he didn't want to deal with one.

He was out of his league!

Survival was his game, and he could not do that against this one!

Naruto nearly laughed at how quickly Roman bolted for the ladder.

If he didn't know any better, there was almost a cartoon sound after he left and a puff of smoke with his exit!

Well, there was smoke.

He did use a smoke bomb.

"Are you just going to let him get away?" Shima asked, frowning as she glanced into her summoner's eyes. "He did just attempt to rob a shop…"

"There's just something about him…" Naruto chuckled, scratching his head, his ears swishing and swaying. "I can't explain it. But I think… I might be able to reach him, ya know? Just give me a chance to work with this one."

Shima repressed a scowl.

This sounded awfully familiar.

Very much like Jiraiya-boy and his obsession with Orochimaru until he finally gave it up…

Except…

He did reach him,unlike Jiraiya…

"Get back here!" They both were snapped away from their thoughts and drawn to the teenage girl flying up to the roof…

As nothing but a burst of a cloud of roses at lightning speed.

"Okay, that's new!" Naruto's hair fluttered, a gale fluttered around him, making him squint momentarily.

"This world has many interesting things!" Shima nodded, impressed.

Kicking off the ground, he leapt up on the roof with a single jump, landing in a crouch.

Before him, he saw a strange vehicle he couldn't identify as Roman board, taking a shot toward Ruby., congealed back into her standard form. She quickly jumped to the side, avoiding the flames as they burst beside her, and she boomed forward, her scythe in hand.

Yet, if there was a vehicle up here…

That meant there was a getaway driver…

Which meant she was walking…

Into an ambush.

Naurto's hair stood on edge.

He felt the air still.

It was warm.

Too warm.

Very hot.

As if…

"Fire!" Naruto snapped into action.

Reaching the teenage girl, gripping her by the wrist. Ripping her away, fire consumed the spot as she rolled onto the concrete of the roof.

Naruto stood and watched the pillar of flames, gazing at the strange vehicle with a calculated gaze.

A woman with a fiery dress gazed upon him with interest.

The teenager looked utterly stunned by what fire. Her eyes darted back to the vehicle, the woman, and then Naruto rapidly, finally settling on Naruto. "Thank you! I was almost barbeque! I've never seen anything like that before… Ah… What's that you are doing?"

Settling through a slight motion of hand signs, most too fast to be seen, Naruto ended on the tiger seal. His eyes illuminated with fury, and he stared into this woman's gaze. "Oh, if she wants to use fire, I'll light it up!"

"Katon: Gōkakyū!"

A great stream of fire lit from his mouth, burning intensely as it left. Forming into a large ball, rolling upon the vehicle with vindictive speed.

What most people outside of Konoha didn't know was that everyone in Konoha was given access to be taught the Great Fireball technique. Whether they learned it or not was up to them.

Naruto had tried for a while. So, he had the basics down. But due to the war, he hadn't mastered it…

Well, now that he was a master of the elements, this technique was child's play!

Amber eyes glistened…

A hand held out before the flames as the vehicle lifted into the air…

And the flames parted around it at the woman's command.

Naruto furiously concentrated harder, flowing his elemental chakra control of the flames further, pumping more power into it.

She wanted to overcome his flames…

Let's see if she could overwhelm his reserves of chakra!

Her eyes flickered, her leg faulting.

Sweat built.

Her breath quickened…

She buckled to her knees.

The vehicle continued to rise, nearly out of the reach of the flames…

But Naruto wasn't finished yet.

He had a trump card.

He was a master of the wind.

He would have to thank Temari for showing him the basics after their brief encounter in Suna after Gaara's encounter with the Akatsuki…

"What is this? What are you? And how can you hold your own with a Maiden?!"

Naruto's concentration was snapped for just a brief second, his flames faltering.

The blonde woman?

Why was she here?

And what was she saying?

"Dammit!" Naruto turned his attention back to the flying vehicle, watching his flames dissipate and spat, watching the craft fly higher and higher into the sky. "They're getting away. I might be able to make that jump…"

"At that altitude?" Glynda scolded, narrowing her eyes. "Who do you think you are? A superman?"

Naruto scoffed.

He was confident, but not that confident. He didn't think that highly of himself.

He could fly, though.

…Just not at the moment.

Summoning did cost him.

"Hey, you okay?" Naruto ignored Glynda, irritating her further, as he focused on the teen, smiling broadly at her. "You were impressive out there today! You handled all those goons like they were nothing! I was really impressed!"

"Huh? Ah, yeah…" The teen was caught off guard, her eyes sparkling as she darted between the two, unsure who to concentrate on before focusing entirely on Naruto. "Really? But that was nothing! My uncle taught that to me! It was nothing to that amazing fireball you just did! How did you do that?! What kind of Dust can even cause such a thing?!"

"Well, he's doing a good job from what I can see!" Naruto boisterously laughed, closing his eyes, and shook his head. "And trade secret!"

"Ah, no fair!"

"The name is Uzumaki Naruto!" Naruto extended his hand toward the teen, his infectious smile beaming.

Radiating so positively that the teen matched it, her radiance oozed from her smile despite its softness as she accepted his handshake. "I'm Ruby. Ruby Rose."

Only for their hands to be immediately handcuffed together by an irate Glynda. "And I'm Glynda Goodwitch. You are both coming down to the station."

Naruto blinked, looking down at their wrists, and Ruby looked up at Glynda, her silver eyes glinting in horror at the mere thought.

"Well, shit."
