So super embarassing previous chapter I had been misspelling Beulah's name been so long since I worked on her story I forgot, but anyway I think I overcomplicated over explained Beaulah's eyes really I should of just said she's a Bug with human eyes instead of compound eyes like the Bug Characters of A Bug's Life also the reason she served the cabbage-like leaves is because it was probably one of the few plants on the planetoid that is edible to Earthlings, as a Dung Beetle she's not exactly a hunter she eats the droppings of the alien animals not the animals themselves she's very nice because she's been alone for many years she left for this Planetoid she had to, as we shall soon see why but she still suffers from lonelieness
Beulah led them to a tree house that had been built by previous Humanimals who had come to this Planetoid before Beulah, she had found a journel written by previous Humanimals and it was from that journel she had learned much about this Planetoid and about the Native Humanimals of Viola Strierra of generations past, seemed their had been some differences between them and the current Native Slave Humanimals, seemed previous generations had been bolder, had more hope (Or maybe it was just those individuals who had dared to try to escape, what happened?)
Beulah opened up a barrel and ladled for everyone there some cool herbal tea made from a native plant's seed that smelled and tasted like fennel seed tea. Beulah poured some tea for herself, seems she could have various beverages but when it came to solid foods she could only eat dung.
"Don't know why that is." Beulah admitted "Other creatures like carnivorous mammals have expanded diets, part of me wonders if because we're still meant to be the 'clean-up' crew given how among the Slave Humanimals Dung Beetles along with Flies are used in the sewers to eat the sewage so there is less waste to get rid of."
"Is it true Dung Beetles on Mizzer liked to work in sewage treatment?" Marzipan asked
"Yes." Beulah sighed "I can attest to that, for us it is like working in a candy factory in a world where it seems no one else likes candy so everyone else will be overjoyed to let you do it."
There were a few awkward chuckles.
"Me, personally what I wanted to do was pursue an athletic career, at least that's what I assume I wanted, we Dung Beetles tend to be attracted to round things so we tend to gravitate towards ball sports, after I had my metamorphosis from my grub form at puberty I discovered I had a talent for basketball, I had been in the middle of a high school basketball game when we heard the emergency sirens."
Now Marzipan had to do the mental calculations, for her on the West Coast it was 9 PM when the invasion happened, she had to do the calculations for what that would be Eastern Time.
"You were having a basketball game at midnight?" Marzipan asked cocking her head
"I admit that's pretty late." Beulah said "But a lot of Bugs in our community were more nocturnal so most of us were more alert at night."
"So what happened?" Don asked he was finding this Dung Beetle more and more fasinating.
"Obviously when we Bugs were first banished to the underground, it was established that we could come out if it was an emergency and we had to come out of our underground communities quite a few times during the Biollante Wars, so it was a very surreal feeling as every Bug in Dirtberg quietly walked to the emergency exits out of the underground, and we were immediately got caught as soon as we surfaced, seems my years of sports had made me a bit stronger than the average Beetle because rather than be sent to the sewers, I was made a miner to a Lapis Lazuli mine a few miles north of the Capitol City..."
So in this chapter I adress some 'Early Installment Weirdness' in my ealiest Mizzer stories when describing the invasion and not taking different time zones into account but the Bugs might be considered slightly ahead of the curve taking nocturnal creature's natural rhythms into account where among the Veretbrates trying to be exactly like humans have a problem with Nocturnal Students falling asleep in class
