Tatooine, a world he thought he'd never visit. So far away from worlds he regularly traveled to and yet this is where his target fled. A high ranking officer and one of the top engineers for the Empire, he fled to this dust ball to seek aid from the one hunting him, but it wouldn't matter in the end.
He had heard of a new type of star destroyer being developed, one that could hold nearly three times the aircraft and more than five times the firepower of those already in service. This single ship could supposedly hold enough troops to occupy half a world, it gave him flashbacks to the goliaths from the Clone Wars. Remembering those monsters caused his anger to fester, he lost many allies to those things, one was his closest friend. He wasn't going to allow anything else like that to exist ever again.
With a wave of his hand he commanded the lock to disengage and entered the facility. An air base still under construction, but operational enough for its purpose. His target was someone he fought alongside in the war, someone he looked up to as a tactician, but that was then, now he was someone he wanted to kill. Dr. Simiott Hayden, an exceptionally talented man with wondrous skills ranging from engineering to medicine, art and even wartime tactics. Hayden was responsible for tracking down and executing several survivors of Order 66, one a group of teens with two younglings, a group he was too late to save.
Stepping into a nearby locker room he changed into an officer's uniform and made his way to the mess hall. There was to be an event of sorts today, a meeting of officers and graduate cadets from the local officer's academy all to discuss and pitch ideas and designs to better the Empire and those deemed to have the best were to be granted their own command and allowed to make their designs into reality and he planned to put an end to all of them in one fell swoop. He already knew some of those attending, one was Silas Tarko, the son of Merillion Tarko the governor of Cato Neimoidia, another was Deliah Fiarra the granddaughter of an admiral he had already dealt with, the two valedictorians of their academy. Then there was Dr. Hayden as well as three others with equally impressive records and skills. Because of his previous attacks against the Empire he was unable to bring explosives with him this time, but that suited him, he had grown to enjoy even love the face to face confrontations especially with the ones he knew from the war, he wanted them to know who was killing them. There was still some time before the officers arrived so he would use it to get the layout of the base and something to eat while he was at it.
"I miss the kitchen at the temple" he thought as he grabbed a tray and went along the counter selecting his food, "Cooking for the younglings…for Ahsoka…"
"Haven't seen you before" someone commented, bringing him out of his thoughts.
Leon turned to him, "Probably because I just arrived today" he answered in a standoffish manner.
"How long ago?" the trooper asked him, "I just got off my shift watching the entrance, I don't recall seeing you."
Keeping his tone cold and level the former Jedi replied, "Well that doesn't sound like my problem does it?"
The trooper, getting the feeling something is amiss, sets his tray down, "I need to see your ID sir."
"No" Leon stated, "You don't."
The trooper, sure he didn't miss anyone during his guard shift, asked, "And why is that?"
Leon turned to him and with a booming, authoritative voice yelled, "Because I outrank you soldier!"
Every pair of eyes in the mess hall turned to them when they heard him yell, silence overtaking the large room while the pretend officer continued to yell.
"That is why you do not need to see my ID, that is why you do not question me and that! Is why you will spend the next week on sanitation duty. Do I make myself clear?"
The sudden outburst and clear dominant authority in his voice shook the trooper, "Yes sir, apologies sir" he replied.
Leon composed himself, "Then I suggest you finish your meal quickly, your cleaning duty starts in five minutes."
The trooper, not wishing to risk further punishment, salutes and quickly retreats to eat his lunch before rushing off to begin cleaning the base. Meanwhile Leon scans the mess hall and with the same booming voice asks if anyone else wished to question him or his presence, his previous display immediately putting an end to any thoughts of doubt. Taking a seat at the officer's table Leon began eating when a junior officer sat across from him.
"Well you definitely have the demeanor of one deserving of your rank" he tried to joke.
Leon replied, "These grunts need to remember what the chain of command is, if we have to babysit them then their only use is disposing of trash."
The junior officer nodded, "I am a firm believer that discipline is the core of any good soldier. I take it you're here for the officer's presentation?"
Leon nodded, "Why else would I come to this backwater world dealing with such disrespectful grunts?"
"I'll have a talk with his CO" the officer replied, "So which academy are you from?"
"Corellia's" Leon replied, "You?"
"Also Corellia's. Strange I don't remember hearing any graduates from there attending today."
Leon met his eyes and with a gesture of his hand stated, "It wasn't necessary for you to know."
The junior officer's eyes went unfocused for a moment and Leon could feel an attempt to resist his influence, "It…wasn't necessary for me to know."
Leon finished his lunch in silence before leaving to tour the base and when it came time for the presentation to start he made his way to the base commander's office. The door was locked when he arrived, but with a wave of his hand he opened it and entered.
"This is a private meeting" the commander said to him before seeing him lock the door.
He didn't answer as he turned to face them and Dr. Hayden immediately recognized him, "Sound the alarm!" he yelled at the base commander.
Leon waited for the alarm to be triggered before making his move, quickly seizing the commander with the force and pulling him in and snapping his neck. Tarko and Fiarra reached for their weapons and fired only to see a flash of silver light intercept and deflect their shots back to them, Fiarra's killing her instantly while Tarko's hit his weapon hand causing him to drop his blaster. Walking over to the governor's son Leon aimed his lightsaber and thrust it through his chest piercing his heart with the searing plasma.
As he turned his eyes to Hayden he was blinded by a flash grenade giving Hayden time to flee ordering all soldiers to converge on the commander's office and kill the intruder. They all came and while they all died Hayden made his escape and Leon gave chase. Following him through hyperspace Leon landed on Tatooine outside the palace of Jabba the Hutt, waiting for someone to answer the door. A slot opened and something that resembled an eye extended out to look at him speaking in a language he didn't understand.
"Open the door" Leon demanded.
The alien spoke again and when Leon's second order went unheeded he forced the door opened and entered swiftly slaying the Gamorrean guards inside and making his way to the central room interrupting the dancing alien girls and standing before the Hutt demanding his attention.
Jabba spoke in the language of the Hutts leaving his protocol droid to translate, "The Mighty Jabba wishes to know who you are to speak to him in such an insolent manner."
"Mighty?" Leon repeated, "He is nothing resembling that word, he is just like the rest of his species, pompous two-bit thugs that think they have power."
Jabba responded immediately to the insult, "The Mighty Jabba gives you one chance to repent for your arrogance, you are to submit to him fully or you will die."
Leon met the Hutt's eyes, "Make me" he replied unwavering.
Jabba raising his voice made his decree and his droid announced, "Kill him."
The guards and bounty hunters moved in and Leon activated his lightsaber cutting down half of them and using the force to throw the others and crush them against the walls, one he held by the his neck surrounding him with the force before compacting it around him forcing his body to bend and curl into a ball and then crushing him completely over Jabba's body splattering the Hutt with the Rodian's innards.
Throwing the body across the room Leon marched to Jabba's throne and aimed his lightsaber at his throat, "An Imperial officer came through here to beg for your protection" Leon said, "You will surrender him to me immediately or I will take my time killing you first."
Jabba spoke again and his droid turned to Leon, "He purchased a speeder and headed south to a private space port. You are allowed to go, but if you ever return to Tatooine you will be killed on sight."
Leon glared at Jabba, "You do not permit me to do anything you oversized slug. You have no authority or power over me, remember my face" with a quick swing his lightsaber grazed Jabba's face and the Hutt screamed in pain as the plasma scarred him, a non-lethal attack, but one that would surely leave a scar and a permanent burning reminder of who proved to him not everyone submits to him.
Following Hayden's trail he found him at the spaceport quickly chasing him down and boarding the star ship he tried to escape on. A brief battle with his hired bodyguards left the controls damaged and the ship crashed in the dunes and once more Hayden tried to flee, but Leon finally caught him. Hayden was lifted into the air and watched as Leon fired a blaster behind him without looking, executing the last of his bodyguards before advancing on him. Hayden struggled against the invisible grip the ex-Jedi had on him trying to reach for his blaster only for Leon to stretch his arm outward and the doctor screamed as he felt his arm being slowly pulled from its socket. With a tug Leon dislocated Hayden's arm, but before he could torture him further the ground rumbled and a large reptillian creature erupted from the sand swallowing Hayden whole and landing with a heavy impact that sent the loose sand high enough to become its own cloud.
Leon was taken by surprise at the creature's entrance, but quickly recovered as it turned to face him, a krayt dragon, an apex predator on Tatooine. The dragon growled as it met his gaze, obviously not satisfied with eating just Hayden and as a predator was waiting to see if Leon would run. Unfazed Leon held his ground, maintaining eye contact with the giant predator, his glare challenging it in a way that even a wild animal would understand, letting it know that he was dangerous as well.
With another growl the krayt dragon turned around and began walking away, its primal instinct telling it attacking this prey would cause it harm. As the creature retreated its belly and tail dragging through the sand Leon turned back in the direction of the city and began walking noticing a group of Tusken raiders observing him having witnessed him star down a dragon of the sands and choosing to keep their distance, watching him vanish into the dunes and towards the city where he would leave Tatooine and return to his crusade against the Empire.
