Chapter 10: Unknown Horizons
In Japan…
Euphemia and Nunnally were at the shopping mall district with Rivalz, Shirley, Zvi and Milly, who were among a long line of people that were waiting to get inside the cinema to buy tickets to watch an action movie called 'The Grey Ghost Strikes'.
"There are surprisingly so many people waiting to watch this movie."Euphemia said in surprise.
"What do you expect, Euphie? The Grey Ghost Strikes was actually the number one best selling novel that sold over a million copies."Rivalz chuckled."I can't wait to see the movie of the story."
"I'm just surprised that you even read a novel, Rivalz."Milly sneered teasingly. "Normally, you would only read only manga. Did someone bribe you?"
A confident smile appeared on Rivalz's face.
"No way, Milly."Rivalz remarked proudly."I got reading over manga books a long time ago."
Zvi sweat dropped at Rivalz's.
"Sure you did. I just hope the movie is as good as the novel."Zvi complemented and frowned."I still can't get over the fact that I wasted money on getting tickets for us to watch 'The Force Awakens'. A total waste that was."
Rivalz cringed at the memory.
"You said it, Zvi."Rivalz agreed."Return of the Jedi will always be the true Star Wars ending. To think Disney actually had the guts to ruin it."
Shirley scoffed and looked at the time in her watch.
"Just one hour and thirty minutes left until the hour of the movie begins."Shirley declared."I hope this line of waiting ends quick."
Milly smirked at Euphemia as an idea formed in her head.
"Perhaps if a certain princess calls out who she is, the line will vanish and we'll get inside the cinema quicker to see the movie."Milly suggested.
"Milly, I gave up my right to the throne."Euphemia reminded with a sheepish smile."So I'm no longer a princess."
"If you say so."Milly said with a shrug.
Nunnally looked at her boyfriend and friends.
"Who is this Grey Ghost story about that people find exciting to see?"Nunnally asked curiously.
"He is actually a teenaged boy character with a tragic background, but then was given a special suit of armour that would turn him into a hero."Zvi exclaimed and gave his girlfriend a wink."That's all I can say, Nunna. No spoilers."
Nunnally giggled at Zvi's respond.
"Okay."Nunnally remarked."I get it."
Back in Zilkhstan…
Inside the Wailing Prison, Jeremiah and Anya finished putting bandages on Oldrin, Sokkia, Leonhardt, Oiaguro and Tink, who were getting some proper bed-rest to let their injuries heal.
Sabrina and Kallen stood not far from an elevator, waiting for reinforcements to arrive.
Then the duo heard a sound of a freight elevator coming down.
When the elevator came to a stop, it opened, revealing a single Ghedo Vakka and Sayoko standing next to it.
"Sayoko, you shouldn't bring a Knightmare down here!"Kallen protested.
Just then, the cockpit hatch on the Ghedo Vakka opened, revealing Lloyd and Bertie pushing it up.
"Hi."Bertie greeted with a wave.
"Actually, we found something that should shake things up a bit."Lloyd remarked.
Sabrina frowned at Bertie.
"Bertie, what are you doing here?"Sabrina scoffed."It's dangerous for you to be here."
"But I want to help."Bertie pouted.
Bertie jumped off the Ghedo Vakka and walked over to Sabrina.
"You can help, but only if you stay out of harms way."Sabrina instructed in a soft yet stern voice."The battlefield is no place for a child."
Kallen then ran toward the Ghedo Vakka, quickly climbed up one of its legs, then did a short side flip over Lloyd's head, almost without thinking.
Lelouch was perusing some computer data inside one of the control rooms when he heard something beep and Sabrina's voice come from a small communicator on the table.
"Hey, dad."Sabrina spoke up."Aunt Sayoko bought a Ghedo Vakka for mum to use. Is that okay?"
Lelouch smirked at his future daughter's respond.
"Of course, Sabrina."Lelouch answered.
C.C walked over to Lelouch.
"Akito and his squad had attacked the F.L.E.I.J.A facility."C.C declared.
Lelouch smiled in approval.
"Good."Lelouch responded."As soon as they destroy Queen Shamna's chemical plant, the sooner they can return and help us save Marrybell."
The Leader of the Black Knights then checked the security screens and saw that Bitool and the other prisoners were gone causing him and the immortal witch to become alarmed.
"What?"Lelouch said in disbelief."They're gone."
Sabrina and Bertie went to check on the Glinda Knights.
"How are you all feeling?"Bertie asked.
"A bit better than before."Oldrin spoke up and frowned bitterly."Though the pest King of Zilkhstan really have ticked me off."
"Then you better save your anger when you meet him face to face, Lady Oldrin."Jeremiah warned."Right now we've got Queen Shamna's lackies to deal with first."
Then Lelouch contacted Sabrina in her walkie-talkie.
"Sabrina, where are you?"Lelouch demanded.
"I'm checking on the Glinda Knights with Bertie, Uncle Jerry and Anya."Sabrina admitted and became concerned."What happened?"
"The prisoners that were locked up are gone."Lelouch declared, shocking Sabrina."Someone must've set them free."
Sabrina immediately rushed out of the prison cells of the lower level and then activated her Geass to go check on her mother, Lloyd and Sayoko.
However, the sight she saw wasn't a good one.
Sayoko and Lloyd were wrapped in some sort of restraining devices resembling sleeping bags, but bound with extra rope.
The ones that were keeping an eye of them were Zilkhstan soldiers.
Then a mischievous smirk spread on Sabrina's face when an idea formed in her head.
One of the Zilkhstan soldiers heard a tapping sound and saw a marble land near him and his subordinate's feet.
"What the-"the first Zilkhstan soldier started.
The marble then burst opened and unleashed pink electricity shocks which zapped the two Zilkhstan soldiers which caused them to cry out in terror and died instantly when they hit the ground.
Once the Zilkhstan soldiers were taken care of, Sabrina landed gracefully from where she hid before going to free Sayoko and Lloyd.
"Are you two okay?"Sabrina questioned.
"We're fine, Lady Sabrina."Sayoko assured.
"But I'm afraid your mother was taken by the loose prisoners."Lloyd remarked.
Sabrina paled at hearing that Kallen was kidnapped by Warden Bitool and and his fellow fake prisoners.
"Crud."Sabrina muttered in frustration and contacted her father in her walkie-talkie."Daddy, the Zilkhstan's reinforcements and have taken mummy."
"Don't do anything."Lelouch instructed sternly."Me and C.C already have a plan in motion."
In the Control Room, Lelouch was checking in the security screens for any sign of the fake prisoners and Kallen, but saw nothing.
The former Prince of Britannia frowned in frustration that he couldn't find his wife.
"Where could've have they taken her?"Lelouch retorted.
"It's likely that Kallen is being taken to the infirmary in the prison."
Lelouch behind him just in time to see Oldrin standing completely despite her injuries.
"Oldrin, you shouldn't be standing."Lelouch replied in disproval."You haven't got the energy to fight back still."
A scoff escaped from Oldrin's mouth.
"I'm Empress Marrybell's Personal Knight, Lelouch."Oldrin declared strictly."I'll be a laughing stock to everyone, if I complain that I can't fight to save her because of my injuries from some spoiled royal brat from a foreign kingdom."
A slight smirk appeared on Lelouch's face.
"I expected you to say that."Lelouch commented."You are Marrybell's best friend since the days in Pendragon and want to always stand at her side no matter what."
"Glad you understand that."Oldrin said simply."Although…"
"What?"Lelouch asked.
"You've changed a lot yourself."Oldrin admitted with a slight smile."You show that you also care about the people that are close to you like Marrybell. Even though your lives had many different outcomes."
Lelouch looked down at Oldrin's respond.
"Yes."Lelouch agreed with a nod."I've changed for the better because of my friends, Kallen and Sabrina."
Suddenly, a voice came over the loudspeakers in the facility.
The one that belonged Shesthaal Forgnar.
"Attention, intruders in the facility!"Shesthaal called out."I must remind you that I, Shesthaal Forgnar, serve the divinely mandated rulers of this land! This prison facility is completely surrounded by our forces! Surrender! I repeat, surrender now! You have no chance of escape!"
Lelouch sighed as he sat back from where he sat before.
"Looks like the show is about the start."Lelouch declared.
Warden Bitool and three of his flunkies were wheeling a bound Kallen on the same sort of cart that had been used to bind Vree earlier, although she was restrained with leather straps rather than metal cables.
Sin smirked as she walked forward while looking at Kallen.
"Well, well, if it isn't Kallen Kōzuki or rather…Lady Kallen vi Britannia, the famous pilot of the Guren. I've have heard so much about you."S.S remarked in a fake voice of admiration and clasped her hands together."Too bad I didn't get the chance to meet you officially since you were blown away from the F.L.E.I.J.A. like the Puppet Empress and the fake Zero in another life."
Kallen glared at S.S in anger, upon realising she was one of the followers that belonged to the Keepers of the Order.
"It's you."Kallen retorted."You're one of them."
"I'm just a commander doing her boss' orders."S.S assured with a malicious smirk."Though I think using you as a bait to lure your future daughter to me will be for fun than making you a gift to the king or queen."
Then black Geass symbols appeared in S.S's eyes for a moment before she brought her attention to Bitool and his men.
"Take her to the infirmary."S.S ordered in a deep yet sinister tone.
Bitool and his three men chuckled evilly while Kallen began to become scared of what she was witnessing.
In the Wailing Prison…
After speaking to the Glinda Knights of their plan, Lelouch and C.C made their way back to the control room.
"Evacuation of the prison personnel is almost complete."Shesthaal instructed."If you do not respond before then, I can no longer guarantee your survival. Also, if the one who was previously with the Geass Order comes forward, she will be treated as a guest of the state."
Lelouch shook his head, completely ignoring Shesthaal's warning.
"Attractive offer."Lelouch replied with a unfazed look."I wonder why they feel the need to make it."
"Beats me."C.C answered."This kingdom technically parted ways with the Order three hundred years ago."
Lloyd was standing in front of the console along with Bertie and an armed guard who was under the influence of Lelouch's Geass.
Bertie glanced at Lelouch and saluted to him.
"The program's all done, Commander Zero."Bertie declared with a wide smile."Designed around the Knightmare Frame simulator as you requested."
"I must say this little lad knows his gadgets."Lloyd remarked."Even I can't build a program as fast as he could."
"Communications?"Lelouch questioned.
"Have a look for yourself."Lloyd encouraged eagerly.
The scientist then pressed a button on the console.
Lelouch looked at the screen and quickly deduced that he could now contact the enemy over private channels, among other things.
Now he would begin the process to begin their escape.
Sabrina was running to get to her mother as she checked on her iPhone for her location, but saw her device wasn't working properly.
Lelouch was busy distracting Shesthaal, so he wasn't aware of where she was going.
"Great!"Sabrina scowled as she put her iPhone away."How can I-"
Suddenly, Sabrina quickly went for cover in a column as the Zilkhstan soldiers fired their guns.
S.S walked forward as her henchmen suddenly stopped firing using their guns.
"Sabrina vi Britannia."S.S retorted sourly."It would be wise for you to come out and surrender."
A scoff escaped from Sabrina's mouth at S.S's declaration.
"Oh, please."Sabrina retorted as she hid in the column."Since you're one of the followers of the Keepers of the Order, I know you're probably trying to kill me anyway."
Sabrina rushed out of her hiding place and used her guns to kill two Zilkhstan soldiers before throwing a smoke bomb to blind the sight of the rest.
"I can't see!"
"Where did she go?!"
Gunshots were heard for a couple of seconds.
When the smoke cleared, it revealed Sabrina killed the remaining Zilkhstan soldiers.
Now she and S.S were seeing each other face to face.
"So it is true."S.S replied with an evil smile."The Puppet Empress' illegitimate niece had returned to the timeline she doesn't even belong to."
"I'm only here to burn out the pieces of trash like you that is trying to ruin the true peace that me and others worked hard to bring to this corrupted world."Sabrina retorted coldly."Nothing else matters to me."
"You're no match for us, fox face."S.S scowled with a unfazed tone."I like the rest that follow Master Thanatos have Geass powers superior to yours and your estranged relatives. You'll wish you had never been born by the time we destroy your delusional future."
"Master Thanatos?"Sabrina scoffed smugly."You sound like you've been treated like a dog for the rest of your life."
Out of anger, S.S floated up and unleashes deadly red energy orbs from her hands causing Sabrina to jump out of the way.
Sabrina fired gun shots at S.S, but the young sorceress' orbs melted them away like they were nothing.
"Come on, little princess."S.S pouted as she floated down."Why don't you try and use your Geass to try and attack me? Or you too cowardly to think that the Power of the Kings will corrupt you like your pretty boy dad and your selfish hearted grandparents?"
"Don't compare me to any of them!"Sabrina scowled.
Sabrina pulled out a collapsible baton and charged at her, but S.S thrust out her leg and kicked her into the floor.
"You're such a joke."S.S insisted grimly."Let me just blast you out of your misery, princess."
Sabrina glared angrily at S.S as a red orb appeared in her hand.
Suddenly, a bunch of shurikens headed towards S.S's direction causing her to teleport out of the way as Sayoko rushed to Sabrina's side.
"I don't have time to play with you mortals."S.S declared with a unfazed tone and smiled darkly."I'll wait for another fun time."
S.S disappeared from sight as Sayoko glanced at Sabrina.
"Are you alright, Lady Sabrina?"Sayoko asked with a hint of worry.
"I'm fine, Aunt Sayoko."Sabrina assured kindly before standing up."Let's go get mum."
Outside the Wailing Prison…
The Gawain and the three Alexanders piloted by Ayano, Ryo and Yukiya arrived above Shesthaal's forces and started attacking which shocked the Commander of the Zilkhstan Royal Guard.
But they weren't alone since Tohdoh, Chiba and Asahina's Knightmares arrived to help them with the assault as well.
From inside the Gawain, Akito shot the hadron cannon to obliterate the squadron of gunships.
Leila then contacted Shesthaal.
"This is Leila Malcal, a military officer in the E.U. Army and Commander of the wZERO."Leila declared."We don't want to engage in hostilities with the Kingdom of Zilkhstan."
"What is this farce of naive innocence?!"Shesthaal growled."And after trampling our pride underfoot as you have?!"
"Not at all, sir. We don't want trouble."Akito sneered and gives Leila a wink."We're just looking for a group of terrorists infiltrating your nation."
"As my partner said."Leila said in an innocent yet mischievous tone."Help us with our search, please?"
"What is this gibberish?!"Shesthaal snapped."Zilkhstan would never harbour people like the ones you described!"
A fake sad sigh escaped from Yukiya's face.
"Looks like their captain is a real loud and proud member of the elite."Yukiya said in boredom.
"Guess his not into the hand of friendship."Ayano joked.
"Well, it his own lost."Ryo sneered."Let's take him down."
This caused Tohdoh to contact the squad.
"Let Zero take care of the captain."Tohdoh reminded."Our job is to destroy his forces."
Then Lelouch contacted Shesthaal from inside the Wailing Prison.
"Calling the brazen Shesthaal Forgnar. Calling the brazen Shesthaal Forgnar."Lelouch declared."We are simple tourists. Remove your ridiculous cordon and leave this area immediately."
A glare appeared on Shesthaal's face.
"I don't mind about myself, but I insist you take back your insult toward the Forgnar family."Shesthaal scowled.
"Who knew that mechanises could gain such honour over a scant 120 years?"Lelouch sneered."Why do accept my apologises? Even thieves and bandits have their pride. If you are smart, it would be wise to leave. If you are a fool, head right in."
Shesthaal angrily slammed his fist inside the cockpit of his Jarja Vakka.
"All personnel, fight Zero's reinforcements."Shesthaal ordered with a raged look."Once they're defeated, Zero and Kitsune are mine to take."
A wave of relief appeared on Sabrina's face when saw the infirmary was finally left unguarded which allowed her and Sayoko to break in and rescue Kallen.
Kallen, Sabrina and Sayoko stepped through the doorway that led to one of the infirmary's exits.
It had been locked and barred, but it was nothing a small particle-beam generator couldn't deal with.
Smoke from the room started to fill the hallway.
"Thanks, Sabrina and Sayoko."Kallen thanked.
Sabrina hugged her future mother.
"I'm just glad I was in time."Sabrina replied with a weak smile.
"We have to go now."Sayoko declared."Everyone else is waiting."
Oldrin made her way inside the Ghedo Vakka that she was going to use as part of Lelouch's plan.
"Lelouch."Oldrin spoke up from within the cockpit of her Ghedo Vakka."This strategy of yours is going to work, right?"
"If you follow my orders exactly, it will."Lelouch replied confidently.
"I know your way of doing things, but your confidence still isn't exactly reassuring."Oldrin retorted in a grim tone.
"Then trust in my strategy and follow my orders."Lelouch encouraged.
With that, Lelouch began the critical phase of his strategy and began typing away at the touch-screen keyboard with absolute ease.
Back down in the hangar where Jeremiah, Anya and the Glinda Knights were holed up, no one could ignore the sounds of combat coming from above.
Jeremiah contacted Lelouch.
"Master Lelouch, the Glinda Knights and the rest of us have moved as you ordered us to."Jeremiah declared."Has our reinforcements arrived?"
"Indeed they have, Jeremiah."Lelouch remarked."Just like I knew they would."
Both Leonhardt and Sokkia felt obligated to find out what was going on.
"Zero, what's going upstairs?"Leonhardt demanded, speaking in his communicator."It sounds like there's a battle going on up there."
"Indeed there is."Lelouch declared."But I had no desire to risk your lives needlessly. There were plenty of soldiers available to fight for us."
"Lelouch, about the fleeing prisoners, guards and other staff."Sokkia commented."Did you-"
"I had to, Sokkia."Lelouch replied.
Sokkia simply nodded, understanding why Lelouch had to use his Geass on them.
"It's alright."Sokkia answered."We believe in you. Don't worry."
Unknown to everyone, Shesthaal's Jarja Vakka lowered itself down into the depths of the chasm that surrounded the Wailing Prison via a cable, commonly used by Knightmares for such a purpose.
"That fool!"Shesthaal snarled."Everyone knows that bandits cannot defeat the scion of a heroic bloodline!"
As he said this, the cable stopped extending, placing him in front of a window which he promptly smashed with his machine's sword.
It turned out that it was the room where the Glinda Knights were being healed by their wounds.
Shesthaal smirked to himself.
Soon his men would capture Zero and Sabrina vi Britannia, and he would gain honour beyond his wildest imagining.
"I've come for you and your future daughter, Zero."Shesthaal declared."If you're thinking of escaping, you must know what will happen to our other hostage."
However, there was no one there.
All he saw was a large metal container of some kind with a small speaker attached to it. But then, he heard the voice of Lelouch coming from the speaker.
"Shesthaal Forgnar of the Zilkhstan Royal Guard, your pride is of no account."Lelouch announced with a smug tone."This is checkmate."
A split-second later, a familiar pink but deadly light exploded from the box, consuming the guard captain as he let out a scream of despair.
The explosion not only consumed Shesthaal Forgnar, but the dozens of soldiers that had stormed the prison.
Asahina watched the sight from inside his Gekka.
"Huh."Asahina scoffed with a smirk."He seriously fell right into Zero's trap."
"I guess he really was a brainless fool."Chiba retorted.
"Alright, Captain Forgnar's remaining forces are retreating."Tohdoh stated."Now we just have to wait for the rest to come and meet us in the location that Zero told us to go."
Inside the Wailing Prison…
A sigh of relief escaped from Bertie's face at seeing the remaining forces of Captain Forgnar going away from the danger which made him realise he and the companions were now save.
"That was scary."Bertie grumbled.
"It looks like the remaining forces are withdrawing."Sabrina chuckled.
"They must have seen Forgnar's foolishness, Lady Sabrina."Jeremiah commented smugly."Whoever their highest commander is must have no need for someone so easily baited."
Lelouch embraced Kallen as she threw her arms around him.
"Are you alright, Kallen?"Lelouch questioned with a hint of worry.
Kallen gives Lelouch a small yet passionate kiss.
"I'm alright."Kallen assured."Those psychos did nothing to me."
Sabrina walked over to Lelouch.
"I helped Aunt Sayoko save mum, dad."Sabrina remarked proudly."Did I do great?"
"Yes."Lelouch replied with a small frown."Even though I told you not to."
"Hey."Sabrina pouted."I'm fine and so is mum. Isn't that what's more important?"
"Right."Lelouch answered."Of course."
Sabrina went to talk to the Glinda Knights as Anya walked over to Lelouch to whisper something in his ear.
"Hey, Lelouch."Anya spoke up."We've got contact from her."
"Good."Lelouch responded simply."We'll need her help."
Inside the Castle of Zilkhstan…
Queen Shamna, King Shalio and Thanatos were staring up at Marrybell, who was still inside the water filled tank.
S.S, Swail and Bitool were close by their leaders.
"My Queen, it is Forgnar."A man's voice said."I heard that King Shalio is here."
The voice belonged to Zilkhstan's top general, Bolvona Forgnar, who was also known as the Brown Bulwark.
"Enter."Queen Shamna ordered.
Bolvona Forgnar was a middle-aged man with grey hair and a two-pointed beard. He wore a grey traditional Zilkhstani dress uniform and a golden headband.
The general made the traditional Zilkhstani salute of raising his right hand over his right eye as he stepped forward.
"King Shalio."Bolvona spoke up."Is it true that my son Shesthaal has died?"
"Yes."King Shalio replied while turning his wheelchair around to face his general."We just learned that from Bitool, the warden. He returned with Lady Sin earlier."
"Bitool."Queen Shamna asked, still not turning around."How long ago did Shesthaal die?"
"Midday."Bitool answered, also making the Zilkhstani salute."Around eleven o'clock, I'd say. We had no idea the enemy would be so formidable."
"The exact time of death was 11:02:53, Your Holiness."S.S admitted."He was destroyed by a sakuradite bomb set by the enemy."
"Your son was mostly caused by Zero himself, General Forgnar."Thanatos assumed.
"Well, it was Shesthaal's own fault."S.S retorted with a shrug and closed her eyes."He did let his ego guide him rather than his reason. This great nation has no use for fools like him."
Bolvona glared at S.S, but knew she was telling the truth.
"I see."Queen Shamna replied."So that makes it more than six hours, doesn't it?"
"Big sister?"King Shalio asked.
S.S nodded in agreement as Bolvona looked at King Shalio.
"My king, give me the order."Bolvona insisted with complete anger."Let me hunt down those UFN, no, those Black Knight dogs and avenge my son!"
"Great General."Queen Shamna replied.
Queen Shamna turned around to finally turning around to face her general.
"Yes?"Bolvona asked.
"Your military might is undeniable, but our enemy has people who possess Geass on their side."Queen Shamna reminded.
"My queen."Swail spoke up, also performing the Zilkhstani salute."We are not even sure if that was a former master..."
"I know that!"Queen Shamna said in an annoyed tone."I am simply telling you to prepare for the worst."
This seemed to be make Shalio worried.
"Sister."King Shalio said as he and his sister turned back around."If they do have a Geass user on their side..."
"It's all right."Queen Shamna assured."Once I have made my prophecy, we can overcome any foe."
"Just as we captured the Empress Marrybell's Knight?"King Shalio asked.
"Yes, but never mind that."Queen Shamna answered, looking back up at Marrybell."We have to hurry and finish things here."
Thanatos bowed at Queen Shamna.
"That is the most wise solution, Your Majesty."Thanatos agreed with a evil smile.
As Queen Shamna gazed up at Marrybell again, the priestess-queen glared at the captive Empress with annoyance.
"It is because your half-brother destroyed the laws of C's world."Queen Shamna commented."By using you, whose wavelength is close to Charles, the one who failed to change things over, I will be able to transcend to C's world."
A few hours later, Lloyd, Sayoko and Bertie watched from behind a border as the Ikaruga landed and a bunch of planes brought down a couple of big containers that parachuted down on the desert ground.
"Whoa."Bertie chuckled in amazement."Is that the famous Ikaruga that fought against the forces of evil Emperor Schneizel?"
"The one and only."Lloyd agreed brightly."But since you're from Kitsune's timeline you are taught a different story?"
Bertie's smile shrunk a bit.
"I guess you can say that."Bertie replied.
Kallen was inside one of the safe houses and sat on a bed, waiting for Lelouch and Sabrina to put on their suits.
The sound of footsteps were heard and Kallen saw her husband wearing a new Zero attire.
Lelouch wore a purple and black jumpsuit with a black cloak that surrounded his body like the wings of a bat, both being trimmed gold, and the inside of the cloak was red. His helmet was black with five spikes pointing backwards while the center being purple and had gold trims.
He was now Zero again.
"I like you're new suit."Kallen remarked smugly."It's better than the last one."
Zero wrapped his arms around Kallen.
"Thanks, my Q-1."Zero thanked."Though I much prefer to be Lelouch Lamperouge than the Man of Miracles again."
"You're the only one and true Zero."Kallen reminded."Nothing can ever change that."
A sigh escaped from Zero's mouth.
"I know."Zero responded.
Sabrina was in another changing room, taking off the prison clothes that she was given.
The red haired girl was putting on her latest outfit that suited the codename she used when she first came to the present.
The sunlight outside shun on her frame as she got dressed.
Soon, she was ready as well.
Sabrina wore a dark purple bodysuit under a short lavender kimono. The sleeves of her bodysuit completely cover her arms and were looped over her middle fingers with golden rings to partly cover her palms and the top of her hands. Her kimono had an assortment of patterns in different shades of purple and crimson. On the back of her outfit, she wore a crimson bow with tassels. She wore dark purple thigh-high stockings with small diamond openings at the top and high-heeled boots. Around her neck was a small pink ribbon styled as a choker. Her long crimson red hair was styled in its pigtails. On the right side of her head was a hairpin with pale violet flowers resembling morning glories and a small fan-shaped piece attached to it.
Around her waist she placed on two scimitar swords.
The left sword had a golden handle with two short tassels hanging from it. The right sword had a gold and brown handle with a long red tassel hanging from it.
For the finishing touch, Sabrina placed on her Kitsune mask to complete her look.
Now she was officially Kitsune the Savior again.
Back in Japan…
Euphemia saw the message that she received on the phone from Lelouch as her other hand moved Nunnally's wheelchair.
"What did Lelouch say, Euphie?"Nunnally asked.
"They got back the Glinda Knights, Nunnally."Euphemia explained."But they only have Marrybell left to rescue."
Nunnally nodded at Euphemia.
"I believe in my big brother and Sabrina."Nunnally assured confidently."I won't doubt them."
Euphemia smiled at her younger half-sister.
"Of course you won't."Euphemia answered."The same goes with me."
Rivalz, Shirley, Zvi and Milly spoke to each other.
"Say Milly, you never mentioned to us before."Zvi said."How was Zilkhstan?"
"Not good. They gave me no press access."Milly sighed."Though Mr Ried is looking for a way to get the whole story."
"Well, you did the right thing coming back here, Prez."Rivalz declared."Those Zilkhstan dudes are bad news."
"I heard rumours on the internet that foreigners in Zilkhstan keep getting locked up, one after another."Shirley admitted.
Neither Euphemia or Nunnally gave a respond to their friends.
"I don't want to be scared."Nunnally thought with a hint of worry."But I can only hope my big brother's mission is a success. I don't ever want to be separated from him again."
In Bergerac, France…
In her private bedroom of her manor, Ilse was reading a book of the bible while smoking on her cigarette.
Baroness Ilse Stadtfeld was a woman in her late 70s with dark grey hair and soft lime green eyes. She wore a long-sleeved blue nightgown with a light blue collar and a pink hair-strap with azure straps.
She was also the wife of the late Baron Adonis Stadtfeld. She had a reputation for her stability, intelligence, sharp-witted and calm personality, but her family experienced her more playful and loving side as well.
But above that, Ilse Stadtfeld was an utterly honest human being and never hesitated to tell the truth even if it hurts people which is something her great-granddaughter from an alternative timeline inherited from her.
There was a knock on the door causing Ilse to quickly crash the cigarette in her ashtray as Jordan came into the bedroom.
"I saw that."Jordan said.
"Might be possible for you to pretend that you haven't?"Isle assumed.
Jordan slightly shook his head as he went to give his mother a small kiss on the cheek before sitting down on the chair next to her bed.
"You seem to enjoy smoking even after what the doctor said, mother."Jordan stated.
Ilse used her lighter to put a flame on her cigarette before putting it on her mouth.
"Nothing ever stopped me from doing what I like."Ilse declared.
A fragile chuckle escaped from Jordan's mouth.
"Yeah."Jordan remarked slightly."That's true."
Ilse took a puff and blew it out gently before responding to Jordan.
"God is the one that inspires people's aspirations, my son."Ilse commented in a soft yet strict tone."I'm still repulsed to have learned that the wretched parents of the man that is known as your son-in-law were the ones that attempted to create a world that suited them alone and destroy everything based on life. But you can't blame someone of their parents' sins."
Jordan fell quiet at his mother's tone and words.
Some time after Emperor Schneizel's defeat, Sabrina did tell him and Mei about her life in her timeline. But also learning about the Ragnarök Connection and the ones who created the plan were none other than Emperor Charles, Marianne and V.V.
Since he couldn't keep it to himself, he had to tell his own mother about it as well.
His mother wasn't a fan of Emperor Charles and the rest of the Britannian Imperial Family.
But upon learning that her only granddaughter would marry one of the Emperor's spawns, Ilse didn't take the news very well.
The baron snap out of his thoughts when he heard his mother spoke up.
"How is my great-granddaughter by the way?"Isle questioned.
"Sabrina is growing up so quickly, mother."Jordan chuckled."There are signs that shows she is going to be walking soon."
"Not that one."Ilse interrupted with a frown."The one who saved the Britannian Imperial Family from utter extinction and prevented her own father from forming a dumb plan to become a dictator in order to bring a corrupted peace in the world. It would've been laughable if it wasn't so tragic."
"She's sixteen, mother."Jordan answered."Why the sudden interest?"
Ilse smoked on her cigarette for a moment before responding to her son.
"I would like to meet her."Ilse stated.
"Really?"Jordan said with a surprised look.
"It's the one good thing that has come from my only granddaughter."Ilse complemented."Something that hasn't become a disappointment in this family."
"Mother, I know you have had doubts over Kallen marrying a son of the 98th Emperor."Jordan replied, being careful with his words."But I assure you that Lelouch has no desire to be like his half-siblings or spread amorality in the world. Not even plant ambitions on Sabrina's head to make her another corrupted ruler of Britannia."
"Yes, I am aware of that."Ilse said simply as she held her cigarette."But my great-granddaughter is not an ordinary teenager since she will have to learn about how to handle the bigger challenges in her lifetime."
"What do you have in mind?"Jordan asked.
"Jordan, isn't obvious? Sabrina is the first ever member in our family to be of royal blood."Ilse declared."I wouldn't want our blood to not be well spent. Would you rather have her upbringing be by the so-called 'Goddess of Victory' that wasted her life spreading prejudice in the world and her silly younger sister who spend too much of her time reading fairy tale books and having no clue of how to handle real problems in life?"
Jordan shook his head.
"No."Jordan answered."Of course not."
"Man appears on this world for a little while."Ilse stated."But of what went before this life or what will follow, we know nothing."
A village on the border between Zilkhstan and the Middle Eastern Federation was in a small uproar as children rushed for cover and adults moved their curtains in front of their windows.
The center of this uproar were a number of Britannian soldiers dressed as Black Knights pointing their guns at Lelouch, who wore the mask and garb of Zero.
Kallen stood a little away from her masked husband while C.C, Bertie, Lloyd, Cecile, Sayoko, Akito, Leila and Tamaki were close to the buildings.
Guilford, Cornelia's own Knight, was present among the Britannian group as well.
"Lower your guns!"Cornelia ordered.
Cornelia stepped forward as the members of the Black Knights stopped aiming their guns at Zero.
Kallen glared at her sister-in-law.
"Why did you men just aimed their guns at Zero?"Kallen demanded.
"Forgive them."Cornelia insisted simpy."Many of them still haven't fully accepted Britannia being allies with Zero, even when Marrybell says it to be so."
"Or maybe they'll never admit to themselves, much less to us, of the terrible things they've done to innocent people, to those who didn't deserve it."A rude yet familiar female voice retorted."It just how Britannia has been. It's honestly pathetic."
Kallen and Zero both moved out of the way a bit as Kitsune walked forward and stopped between them.
"Sabrina."Cornelia said.
Sabrina removed her mask to reveal her face to her estranged aunt.
However, the face of the red haired girl showed she was anything but happy to see the former 2nd Princess of Britannia.
"What brings you out here, Cornelia?"Sabrina questioned coldly."This is a mission for Zero and the Black Knights. It has nothing to do with you."
"Yes. It does."Cornelia responded."I'm here to save Marrybell. Nothing else matters."
Sabrina's glare sharpened at Cornelia's respond.
"Yeah, right."Sabrina retorted bitterly."In another life, you didn't give a damn if she and the rest of the royal family got killed when Mr Psychopath carelessly launched the F.L.E.I.J.A to wipe them all out in Pendragon."
Cornelia felt hurt at her niece's words, but showed no reaction.
Zero looked at her future daughter.
"I called her to come here, Sabrina."Zero admitted.
Sabrina glanced at Zero, taken back at his respond.
"You can't be serious!"Sabrina snapped."She's one of the very person who wanted to get rid of you and the Black Knights to keep the ideology of the 98th Emperor alive! Never caring about how many non-Britannians or anyone she killed in the process!"
"A lot has changed after you were gone, Sabrina."Cornelia assured honestly."I don't intend to do the things I did when my father was alive anymore."
Sabrina's glare went back on Cornelia.
"As if I will ever believe anything you say, Witch of Britannia."Sabrina replied.
Sayoko then walked forward to speak to Zero.
"Master Lelouch."Sayoko spoke up."We just received word from Cabinet Minister Nonette."
"Good."Zero said with a nod."We'll need all the help to save Marrybell."
"That is correct."Cornelia answered, agreeing with her younger half-brother."The Zilkhstan army will wipe us out in ease if we don't stand together."
The area's atmosphere became intense at the sight of Sabrina's right scimitar sword pointing at Cornelia.
"Let's rewind your memory in case you forgotten!"Sabrina scowled angrily."You, the Witch of Britannia was the very person that aided Mr Psycopath in helping the Black Knights betray their own leader because you failed to keep that naive younger sister of yours under you leash and allowed her to do two unforgettable stupid things! Creating the SAZ in Japan that was all along an incredibly stupid plan that would've made no difference because the philanderer of an Emperor that you and numerous corrupted Britannians followed would find ways to sabotage it since the zone would go against everything that Britannia stood for. Instead it was my own father that had to pay for your unpardonable irresponsibility. The second you allowed Euphemia to develop feelings for the worst self-centred idget that had ever existed, who was so desperate to spread his depraved belief and end his own life since he was the person that caused Japan to fall to Britannian rule in the first place."
Small tears started to gush out from Sabrina's eyes that were mixed with anger and hate, surprising everyone since they've never saw the young red haired girl cry before.
"All my life I've been respectful. Done what people told me to do. Always silent like a smiling doll that is most of time left isolated on her own toy shelf. Don't have my own voice to speak out."Sabrina retorted in a bitter tone."The moment Aunt C.C offered me the Geass Power to go back in time, I knew I couldn't have things the way they are anymore. I had now the chance to save my own father from doing the biggest mistake of his life. Leaving the world by using himself as a scapegoat with all the evil deeds being blamed on him while those that he was close to grief for losing him."
There was utter silence in the area as Sabrina continued talking.
"I knew time travel did certainly come at a pretty high price and serious consequences, but I still took the risks. That's why I came to this timeline."Sabrina scowled with her cold glare focused on Cornelia."I couldn't stand having to allow you, Mr Psychopath and that idget Kururugi have their way while my father dies with the whole world hating him for the second time. Especially, the little me of this timeline have a hell of a life like I did. So what gives you the wretched idea that I would trust you after everything you did?"
Everyone's eyes were now on Cornelia, waiting for what she has to say.
"I don't expect you to trust or forgive me for all the pain and misery that you have gone through because our family's numerous mistakes, Sabrina."Cornelia exclaimed honestly."But yes, you are right. Euphie is my younger sister and was nothing like me, yet I still made her go to Japan without thinking of the consequences. Even though she didn't have any skills of being a Sub-Viceroy to begin with. In return, I had allowed her to meet and develop feelings to a man that has earned your hatred for many reasons like Schneizel. I was called the Goddess of Victory, but had earned the nickname the 'Witch of Britannia' for a reason. We've all became monsters in our own right and have no right to blame someone or someone's child for their own mistakes. Regardless of the sins that they committed themselves. Looking back, I've realised our family was never really a family to begin with. Life is too messy to think that we are. We all believed in the ideology that my father sprouted when he didn't actually believe it himself and have enforced us with ruthless efficiency. All of this because of the selfish desires that he shared with V.V and…Lady Marianne."
Sabrina kept glaring at her estranged aunt.
"You can hate me all you want and don't want to ever lay your eyes on me again."Cornelia commented."But all I can say is to you is that…'I'm sorry for everything, Sabrina'. Though that doesn't change anything."
A scoff escaped from Sabrina's mouth as she lowered her scimitar sword.
"You're right. It doesn't. You are not forgiven like the rest of the blood-sucking parasites."Sabrina declared with a frown."And it will take some big miracle to let that ever happening."
Cornelia looked away and didn't say anything.
Lelouch removed his mask before stepping between his older half-sister and future daughter.
"Cornelia is right. Regardless what or hasn't occurred in the past, we're going to have to put our differences aside in order to save Marrybell."Lelouch admitted in a strong yet firm tone."We wouldn't stand a chance against the army of the Zilkhstan Kingdom. But if we combine our forces together, they'll be no match against us."
Cornelia brought her rifle-gun up in the air.
"We may not share a mother, but Marrybell is most certainly my sister."Cornelia declared."So what choice do we really have, but to join forces?"
"Well said, Your Highness."Guilford agreed.
Sabrina just glared at Cornelia, not wanting to say anything.
But then she notice Lelouch, Kallen and everyone else were waiting for her respond.
Then a forced yet bright smirk appeared on Sabrina's face.
"Not that we have much of a choice, don't we?"Sabrina complemented.
Everyone then cheered at Sabrina's respond.
"Say, why don't we have a party to celebrate our new alliance and to our coming victory?"Kallen suggested.
The assembled group quickly got to work with getting things together for the impromptu celebration.
The Following Night…
The members of the Black Knights were having a party to celebrate their upcoming victory on rescuing Empress Marrybell.
"Do the extra Knightmares that Nonette sent belong to you?"Cornelia asked.
"Yes."Jeremiah answered."Given as support to Master Lelouch and Lady Sabrina."
Tohdoh nodded. "That is thoughtful of her."
Bertie drank a glass of fresh lemonade while sitting with Lloyd, Cecile and Nina.
The six year old boy looked out and sweat dropped when he noticed a rather drunk Tamaki, still holding a bottle of wine, staggering toward Guilford.
"No wonder my father was never fond of drinking wine."Bertie murmured with a sheepish smile.
Cécile looked at Bertie.
"Bertie, you haven't finished eating the rice balls I made for you."Cécile reminded.
Bertie gives Cécile a nervous smile.
"Umm…I liked them, Miss Cécile. They were great."Bertie assured and thought uncomfortably."They actually weren't since I prefer having onigiris with vegetables and blueberries on pancakes."
Ayano slightly chuckled as she came forward with a plate of dorayaki.
"Then here's a proper dessert you'll actually like, little soldier."Ayano joked.
"Thanks, Ayano."Bertie thanked.
Bertie immediately started eating the dorayaki, enjoying the sweet red bean flavour of the pancake-like patties.
"How strange that Bertie liked your treat, but not mine."Cécile commented.
"Guess the little chap is not aware of your talented cooking skills."Lloyd sneered.
Lloyd took a sip from the red beverage that Cécile made for him, only to look sick from the moment he drank it.
"Whoa, Dr Lloyd."Ayano remarked as she drank a glass of mango slush."Not into liquor?"
Nina notice a strange smell in the air.
"What is that smell?"Nina asked.
"I added a little durian to give it some zest."Cécile admitted kindly.
Ayank sweat dropped while Bertie chuckled nervously as he ate another dorayaki.
Outside, Kallen ate a plate of chicken wings while C.C sat down next to her.
"What do you think they really want?"Kallen asked.
"Hmm?"C.C said.
"The Keepers of the Order and their leader."Kallen complemented."They seem very keen on wiping out the bloodline of the Britannian Imperial Family. Got any clues?"
"What gives you the idea that I have a clue?"C.C asked.
This caused Kallen to frown at the immortal witch.
"Beside eating nothing but pizza, you have the talent of keeping secrets."Kallen commented."You did knew the truth behind the assassination of Lelouch's mother and was working secretly for the Emperor so that he can complete his plan for a world without lies."
C.C looked down at Kallen's respond.
"You've lived for so long, C.C."Kallen declared."If you know something, it's best to tell. I am Sabrina's mother beside Lelouch's wife."
Lelouch was working on his plans for the assault on Grahlbad using the small computer he was carrying.
Sabrina walked up to her father while holding a cup of hot chocolate.
"Here, dad."Sabrina remarked."The night is always cold even in the desert."
"Thank you."Lelouch replied.
After handing the computer to his daughter, Lelouch took the cup to take a sip of the warm beverage he was given.
"Say Sabrina, how was life back in your timeline?"Lelouch asked.
"Far more better than before."Sabrina answered."I've gain some popularity and made a couple of friends."
"Any boyfriends?"Lelouch questioned with a hint of suspicion.
Sabrina frowned and blushed a bit at her future father's respond.
"No."Sabrina grumbled."Just two boys, but they're just friends to me."
"Well, that's good to hear."Lelouch replied."Be sure to always conduct yourself."
"Conduct myself?"Sabrina said in disbelief."Interesting, you're saying that to me even though you and mum-"
"The story of me and your mother is completely different."Lelouch interrupted strictly.
"But royals have always had lovers."Sabrina informed with a thoughtful look."Even though were already married. So I guess I should-"
Lelouch nearly choked on his beverage at Sabrina's respond.
"Don't even think about it!"Lelouch snapped angrily.
A slight scoff escaped from Sabrina's face.
"Oh, relax. I'm joking. I wouldn't allow any guy have their way with me."Sabrina reminded with a frown and sighed."Seriously, you really need to stop overthinking too much. But you know, at some point, I'm going to get married. I'm not going to be a teenager forever."
Lelouch looked at Sabrina with a surprised look.
His daughter from the future was a teenager, but she was far smarter and better than he or any of their other relatives ever were.
But he did wanted Sabrina to have a happy life like any good parent would want for their child.
Though some part of him knew she taught herself to grow up quickly because of the ill treatment she received from others because she was his daughter.
"Right."Lelouch answered and looked down."Of course, you won't be."
A small smile formed on Sabrina's face.
"If I did meet someone special, I would make sure to introduce him to you and mum."Sabrina insisted and grinned brightly."Before planning to do anything that is."
Lelouch frowned."Watch it."
Sabrina slightly chuckled at Lelouch's overprotection.
Oldrin was alone and leaned against the wall, looking through the photos of her and Marrybell on her phone.
Then Cornelia walked up to the Knight of Marrybell, holding a warm drink.
"Glad you and the Glinda Knights are back, Oldrin."Cornelia declared.
Oldrin placed her phone away and drank the beverage.
"Thank you, Cornelia."Oldrin replied."Though I'm won't be in a joyous mood until we get Marrybell back."
"Blood makes you related, but loyalty is the thing that makes you family."Cornelia complemented.
"Well, your family wasn't the only who did mistakes. My older twin brother Orpheus was originally born into the Zevon noble family in Britannia along with me."Oldrin exclaimed with a sad frown."However, because of the Zevon family tradition of succeeding through the female line and, in the cases of twins, removing the male child from the family, he was thrown away and adopted by a commoner family at a very young age, with little to no knowledge of his birth and family."
Oldrin's frown deepened as she remembered her twin brother.
"Soon after, however, I was told that my brother was taken in by the Geass Order and was given the 'Geass of Transformation' by V.V. there."Oldrin explained, looking at her reflection on her beverage."Thereafter, Orpheus spent an unknown number of years within the Order, where he was forced to serve as an experimental specimen and develop his Geass."
A slight glare appeared on Cornelia's face at the mention of her father's older twin brother that brought nothing but suffering and misery to their own family as well as others.
The purple haired woman then brought back on Oldrin.
"But don't you regret not having to have helped him?"Cornelia asked."You and Orpheus were born on the same day."
"Of course I do."Oldrin answered."But I don't attend to allow the mistakes that my family did to prevent myself from becoming better and being the Knight of Marrybell."
"I wish I had your confidence."Cornelia declared.
"Sabrina said those hurtful things to you because she is hurt and confused by what occurred in her life. Yet through it all, she still came back to help all of us. Not just Lelouch and Kallen."Oldrin explained."It's expected for her say hurtful things, but you shouldn't take it to heart."
"She said it will take some big miracle to happen for her to forgive me and the rest of the family."Cornelia reminded.
"Then you're just going to have to give it time."Oldrin requested."Tomorrow we'll be all going to battle against the Kingdom of Zilkhstan."
Oldrin then walked away while Cornelia looked down in thought.
