This chapter is mainly about Jason meeting people and getting to know more about Remnant. So there isn't going to be any action in it. However, I'm sure you are going to like a certain twist I added.

Chapter 2

"I beg your pardon, I believe you just asked me to teach. Is that what you really asked me?" Jason asked Ozpin.

Ozpin held a serious expression and said nothing.

"I think that a job would be beneficial. I think training these 'Hunters' would be interesting. However, I have a feeling this man is trying to take advantage of me. I have to be cautious." Jason thought.

"Well, I have no objections to taking the position. Just what exactly will I be teaching?" He responded.

"That will depend on how we evaluate you." Ozpin answered.

"Great, there is an evaluation! He wants to know what I am capable of. Very well, I guess I'll give him a little demonstration." Jason thought to himself.

"The evaluation will be in two days, I recommend you get to know the layout of Beacon." Glynda said.

"Understood ma'am." Jason replied as he gave a slight bow.

Glynda guided Jason into the elevator and they exited the tower.

"Do you mind me asking a question?" Glynda asked.

"Not at all Professor." Jason answered.

"How much experience do you have with hunting the Grimm?" She asked.

Jason had hoped to avoid this question. He has never touched a Grimm. He had fought Beasts, but they were way more violent than what these Grimm appeared to be. So Jason decided to use the Beasts as 'experience' in another fabrication.

"Yes, I have plenty of experience hunting the Grimm." He lied.

Glynda nodded and then turned to him.

"I am sorry, but you will have to continue exploring by yourself, I have classes to teach." She said as she turned away and walked to a door.

Jason had realized that her expression had never changed. It conveyed the message of I will not show emotion when I am working. That was something Jason understood all too well. While he had shown some emotion in his battles with formidable foes. He had never really shown much emotion in any fight.

"I guess I will have to find where to get some information. I hope libraries still exist." Jason said with a small smile.

Half an hour later.

"Yep, I am definitely lost." He said.

"Wow Jaune! You actually fought an Ursa by yourself!" Yang shouted as she stuffed her mouth with a sweet roll.

"W-well, it was nothing really." Jaune replied.

Pyrrha smiled as she thought of the events earlier today. She was glad that Jaune was alright, although that was all thanks to her semblance.

"You should give yourself proper credit Jaune." Pyrrha said.

"Hey, do you remember that guy that we saw earlier?" Ruby asked.

"Yes, why?" Weiss responded with a cocked brow.

"Well, I wonder what his weapons were like!" She exclaimed.

Team RWBY groaned. This ranting about weapons was something they heard all the time.

"Sis, why are you so focused on his weapons? I'm more focused on who he is." Yang said.

"I also want to know who he is. When we were on our way back, I swear I could feel something off about him." Blake said with a mouthful of fish.

As they discussed the mystery man they had met. A certain person entered the cafeteria. He looked at everything in front of him and his eyes sparkled.

"Food! I'm not in a nightmare anymore!" He yelled mentally.

He grabbed a tray and asked for whatever the servers recommended. Once his tray was full, he turned to see that all the tables were taken up. All except one that is. He walked over to it and recognized the eight that sat at it.

"Hello, do you mind if I dine with you?" The Hunter asked politely.

They all stared at him. They could not believe the person who had been their topic of discussion had just asked to eat with them. Ruby was the one to break the silence.

"Sure! Please take a seat." She said enthusiastically.

Jason took a seat and began to eat his meal. Then Ruby asked him a question.

"So, which one of those is your weapon? The came or the sword?" She asked with a smile.

"Both." He replied.

"Really? Then which one do you use more often?" Ruby asked.

"The Threaded Cane. I use it more often than Chikage, my sword mainly because if I used Chikage, I would kill every enemy too quickly." He said.

"Wait, so will we ever see you use Chikage?" She asked.

"Pray that you never do. Because if you do, it will probably be a bad situation." Jason said as he continued eating.

Ruby seemed saddened by his answer. Jason looked at her and asked the next question.

"I saw you use a scythe. It's a good weapon that has decent leverage and can reach pretty far." Jason said.

"Wait, you make it sound like you've used a scythe before?" The enthusiastic girl asked.

"I indeed have used a scythe before. In fact I might still have it with me somewhere." He said.

Blake couldn't help but ask a question.

"Where did you come from?" She asked with skepticism clearly written on her face.

"I came from a place called Yharnam. It used to be an amazing city, but now it's gone." Jason said as he got up from his seat.

"Thank you for accompanying me for lunch, I will return the favor." He said as he walked away.

"Who is that guy?" Jaune asked.

Jason had spent the entire afternoon and evening rummaging through the library in search of all of the historic records.

"Okay, so Dust is a volatile substance that is used in powering cities, ammunition and also bombs." Jason said as he read over a science textbook.

"Where exactly did it come from?" He said.

Once again, he felt a slight headache as knowledge rushed into his mind. Dust is an elemental substance that rained down onto the planet after the moon was fractured.

"Huh, so it's from the moon. Well being a Great One sure is handy." He thought.

He then felt someone watching him, he didn't know who but he knew someone was there.

"Whoever is there, please show yourself." He said without moving.

A person emerged from behind a bookshelf and came face to face with Jason.

"Hello, my name is Velvet. I am sorry for disturbing you." She said with an expression that seemed to expect a reprimand.

"It's fine, you're a Faunus aren't you?" Jason asked with interest.

"Yes, I am. You say that like you've never met one." She answered.

"That's because I haven't." Jason responded seriously.

"What? You've never met or even seen a Faunus before?" A shocked Velvet asked.

"Yes, I'm not really from a place that has them around. I find you Faunus quite interesting, how are you human, but have instincts and body parts that belong to animals, is this a result of Dust mutation? Or have you always existed?" Jason said as he was actually thinking out loud.

Velvet was surprised that a person that had never met a Faunus wasn't afraid or disgusted of her.

"Anyways, why were you watching me Ms. Velvet?" Jason asked.

"I was coming here to find extra study materials, and that is when I ran into you. You're not a teacher and you are too old to be a student." She answered.

"I am going to be evaluated to become a teacher." Jason said as he stared he looked back to the books he had laid out.

"What are you reading about? If you're about to become a teacher, why would you need to study?" She asked.

"Because I have no idea what the evaluation is going to be like." Jason replied although he somewhat knew what it would be like.

Velvet understood what he meant. No student knew what the teacher evaluations were like. They most likely combined combat tests with intelligence tests. So the fact that he was spending his time soaking up as much information as possible impressed the Faunus.

"I will leave you to your studies." She said as she left.

"Hm, nice kid." Jason said as she disappeared.

He turned to the book that currently held his attention. He was amazed at how much this world has changed. Apparently, he was never in a dream to begin with, he had just been transferred to a different world entirely by the Great Ones. Where did the Paleblood come from, well that is great question. Jason knew that is was the blood of the Great Ones. Everything he had seen, everything he had done. It was real. He still couldn't quite wrap his head around the idea. However, his mind felt different, like it was able to comprehend everything.

"I still can't believe I am a Great One." Jason thought.

Jason wasn't Omniscient, but he sure did know a lot. He could also sense the presence of people and even pick up a few stray thoughts.

"Huh I guess I could try talking to people in their dreams.

Jason continued to research late into the night.

Dawn had come and the Hunter awoke to find himself still in the library. He began to get up and then heard a door open followed by the clack of shoes.

"You! I've been searching all over for you!" An angry blonde shouted.

"Um, isn't this a library?" Jason asked as he yawned.

Glynda quickly regained her composure and began to speak to Jason in a calmer tone.

"Mr. Barthalamuel, you had a room prepared for you and when I came to wake you, you weren't there. Do you know how stressful that was for all of the staff?" Glynda asked in a demanding voice.

"Well, I don't know how to answer that." Jason replied with honesty written on his face.

"The students will be using the library soon, so please come with me." She said as she turned to leave.

"Wait, it's eleven?" Jason asked as he looked at his pocket watch.

"Yes, it seems you were studying for this evaluation like it was a final exam." Goodwitch said.

"Yeah, sorry that I worried all of you." Jason said.

"Enough, Ozpin would like to speak to you." She said in her stoic tone.

"That man is hiding something, and can't help but feel something...familiar about him." Jason thought.

In the Land of Darkness, a certain person looked over carefully prepared plans and smiled.

"Finally I will have my revenge. Countless years of planning, and the dedication to you my master, has resulted in my victory coming near." The woman said.

"Salem, you will have your revenge, don't forget our agreement." A voice said from behind her.

"Master, I am honored by your presence." Salem said as she quivered at the sight of what stood before.

"I hope after both of our plans are completed, that you will continue to serve me. The last Great One." The voice said as a truly horrifying presence revealed itself to her.

"Yes master." Salem replied as she kneeled before him.

Deep laughing could be heard on the entire continent.

Chapter End

Well, how did you like it? Is it good or bad, I would like an honest opinion. I mean, this will factor into the story, eventually. So, I hope you like it! Jason is aware that Ozpin is trying to manipulate him. However, Jason is curious and wants to have a bit of fun teaching the new Hunters. Until next time! The Elder Sprite Knight.
