It's been a couple of weeks since I found out about the pack. They all come and visit off and on. Leah loves the peace. Leah has been able to forgive Sam being able to get away from him did wonders for her mind. She's also started looking for her own imprint. She's moving forward with Emily as well. I don't think she has fully forgiven Emily, but it's a start. I arrive in La Push, I'm here for the night. There is some sort of vampire battle and Paul wants me in La Push to help him focus. Anything that will help him fight better.
"Hey Jake," I say getting out of my car. I let Kal-EL out as well. He quickly relieves himself then runs over to greet Jake.
"Hey Lindsey, Kal-EL." He greets. I think he's warmed up to me.
"Big plans today?" I ask.
"Yeah, I gotta take Bella up the mountain." He says.
"Need company?" I ask.
"I don't think you would be able to keep up," he says uncertainly.
"Paul and Kal can though," I offer.
"Alright, you can come up for the night," he says. "When Seth comes in the morning, I will take you back to La Push."
"Alright. I can agree to that. Let's head in for now. Prepare you and Paul some dinner and Seth some breakfast." I say heading into Sam's.
Paul brought tons of food oner when he came back yesterday. I made the wolves a pack allowing them to carry items to places. It's big enough that they can phase with it on. They love the design. It allows them to go further distances for things. I will have Paul go pick some stuff up from Canada for me sometimes. The boys bring food back with then every time they come over.
I met Brady and Collin, and they pop over for tutoring two times a week. Their dad is now working with Sam. Their family now has money to buy things. Their dad is on the council.
He spoke to me once saying how grateful he is that I feed the boys and send them home with food when they come over. He says it takes pressure of him not always having enough food in the house.
"So, what do you want for dinner?" I ask,
"Umm, I'm not sure." Jake says obviously not expecting the question.
"Well, Gyro's, Taco's, or camping pizza pops? You know what we can do all three." I decide.
I start cooking the ground beef. I cook tons of it. that way the pack has some. Emily is at a class with Clair right now. I have Jacob shredding cheese and lettuce. He will be chopping tomatoes and onions shortly.
I gave Emily a gadget that chops foods. It can dice and cube food as well. She at first rejected it. I told her it was for all of us imprints because it cuts down on work and time for us. It's also easy enough for the boys to do. We just put the correct part that we want, then let them push the button. She accepted it after that.
Jake and I are almost done dinner when Sam, Paul and Jared walk in.
"Can we go with Jake tonight?" I ask Paul.
"Sure," Paul replies with a shrug.
"Alright, I'll grab the tent and sleeping bags." I say running to Paul and my room here.
I grab out what we will need. I head back to the kitchen and grab out about twelve bottles of water, a carton of eggs and a package of bacon for Seth in the morning. I bring some fruit salad for him as well. I'll make him egg and bacon McMuffins. So, I bring a large bag of English muffins and twelve slices of cheese.
I decide to triple it just in case Jake and Paul need breakfast as well. I pack dinner and send Embry up to the mountain where we are staying to pitch mine and Paul's tent. It's big enough to fit Jake as well if he needs. I sent out some air mattresses as well for us. Once, I think we are set I head back to the kitchen.
"I saw Embry bolt out of here with two wolf packs," Paul says.
"Yeah, he agreed to set up camp for cookies," I say.
It's always nice to have the younger wolves doing small tasks like that. You can always pay them in food.
"Ready to go boys?" I ask,
"Yeah," they both agree.
I ride on Paul's back to the clearing where we are meeting. I see Jasper Whitlock and a penny headed vampire.
"Jasper Whitlock, as I live and breath," I say.
"Little Lindsey all grown up." He says with a smile.
"Where's Rose?" I ask.
"Al home she doesn't like Bella." He replies.
"Nor does Kal." I say pointing to my puppy, who is staying away from Bella. He runs over to see Jasper.
"Hey buddy," he says crouching down to pet Kal. I get off Paul and he heads behind a tree to phase back.
"How do you know the leech?" Paul asks a little pissed off pulling me to him.
"Calm down, Paul. I know him because him and Rose saved my life." I say.
"They saved your life?" He asks confused.
"Yes, I'm adopted. When I was about three years old, I was placed in a very abusive home. Jasper and Rose stumbled across it and requested to foster me. Rose looked for a good adoptive family for me. So, I would get a permanent loving home," I say. "They would come visit as I was growing up. Rose and Jasper encouraged my love of animals. They celebrated my differences from the kids my own age. They helped set up the foundations for who I am today."
"Thanks man," Paul says to Jasper.
"She is an amazing girl. Treat her right. She deserves her happily ever after," Jasper says with a smile.
"I will look after her. I would die for her." Paul tells him.
"I know," Jasper replies.
"What you're tired of always being the prince?" I ask Jasper laughing.
"Definitely, you were a needy spoiled princess," he jokes.
"And you have no one to blame, but yourself." Rose says coming out of the trees.
"Rose. It's nice to see you." I say.
"Lindsey, you look gorgeous." She says smiling at me.
"I guess this explains why you two never changed as I grew up," I say.
"You never asked. I always wanted to know why?" Jasper asks.
"It was none of my business. It's as simple as that." I say.
"So, how did you stumble across her?" Jake asks curiously.
"I had just slipped, and my family here were feeling just disappointment. Rose decided to take me away one night and we stumbled across Lindsey here being abused. We got all the paperwork and a house to become foster parents. The next day and called the police. She was removed and placed with us.
She helped me get over my slip. She was never afraid oof me. Always ready for a cuddle. Rose would go out hunting and her and I would go explore the city together. We would explore forests near by as well. We would find sick animals and nurse them to health.
I still remember the first day she fell and scraped herself. She was crying wanting me to kiss it better and hold her. I didn't think I had the strength, but some how she gave it to me. I did it. Then that night I told Rose, Peter, and Charlotte. Peter told me I would never hurt her." Jasper tells us.
"Ahh yes, how are Peter and Charlotte?" I ask remembering them fondly.
"They're good. Peter told me to say hi to you next time I say you." He says.
"Well, tell him hi back. Peter knows everything, though. So, I bet he already knows. It's been so long since I've seen him. Since my last break up, if I'm correct." I say thinking back.
"He came for your breakups?" Jasper asks.
"Yeah. It started after the first time I got dumped. I thought I would be coming home to an empty house. But there he was sitting on the couch with ice cream, a comedy, and a hug. Everything I needed in that moment. That just became tradition after every breakup after." I explain.
"I bet Charlotte was proud of him for that." Jasper says.
"I don't think he told her." I say honestly.
"Can we just hurry up and do this?" Bella interrupts impatiently. Rose, Jasper, and Paul growl. Kal gets in near the end.
"So, this is Kal-EL." Rose says bending down to pet him. He licks her and she giggles. "Friendly little guy."
"He can be." I say. I hand her my number. "Catch up later."
"Yeah, I'll call you day after the battle." She says.
"Give my number to Jasper." I say as Paul picks me up bridal style. Jake does the same to Bella and they start walking.
"Do you still have contact with them?" Jake asks.
"Yeah. Sometimes. More so Jasper. He calls regularly to check up on me. He called just over a year ago. He also called when I got into college. He paid for my degree and costs I had. He also gave me some spending money. I saved it as I lever really left campus. Not that my parents couldn't pay for some of my college. They just couldn't pay for it all. So, Jasper said for them to save their money and he would pay for it." I reply.
"Wow, that's awesome." Jake says in awe.
"So, why haven't you come to see me lately, Jake?" Bella asks changing the subject.
"I've been busy." He says.
"I thought we would get some alone time." She says with a pout. Paul snorts.
"Sam didn't want us to be alone. He said we could possibly get ambushed." Jake lies.
"Why did he send Paul though?" Bella whines.
"Well, Lindsey was the only imprint to agree. Sam wanted someone with experience and Embry had work." Jake continues to lie.
I give Paul a look asking him why Jake was lying. He lightly shrugs so only I can feel it.
"Well, I'm not sharing a tent with them." She says pissed.
"Don't worry, Jared set them up a camp already. She even got me a bed." Jake says trading out names.
"You brought dinner, right?" Jake turns and asks me.
"Yeah, dinners already up there. I'll heat it up when we get there. Thank you for your help in prepping it." I say.
"No problem," he replies.
"So, Jake what are your plans after school?" Paul asks.
I'm pretty sure he knows, but he's probably asking for my benefit. Because I don't know.
"I'm hoping to open up my own mechanic garage." He says smiling.
Paul quickly looks behind him. Probably making sure Kal is still with us.
"So, you're gonna take business classes?" I ask. "Get your license?"
"Well, I can't leave the land. That will make it harder for me." He tells me.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean you can't take them online," I say. "I started online. I know Leah plans to do that to become a lawyer."
"What about the money?" he asks.
"I can bet your dad has been putting aside money since you were born. You can also get scholarships and Sam is putting aside money for future wolves. That includes schooling." I tell him.
"Wow, you've really thought this out," Jake says.
"Sam, Paul, Jared, and I all sat down and went over a plan for future wolves to phase and the currently phasing wolves. We wanted to make sure the wolves don't face the challenges they faced this time." I say not wanting to give to much away as Bella is here.
I have heard she can't keep a secret and she isn't a part of the pack.
