I open the door to step out a little while later and see Bella standing there.
"Oh great," I say rolling my eyes. "What do you want?"
"Where's Jake?" she asks.
"At school, I hope." I say.
"Well, I want to see him." She says stomping her foot.
"He doesn't want to see you." I say crossing my arms. I narrow my eyes. "You need to go home."
"I won't go home till I get to see him." She says pushing past me.
"Paul!" I yell.
"Yeah!" he calls back.
"Can you call Sam and tell him you can't come in today?" I ask.
"Sure, why?" He says stepping out the room then stops dead when he sees Bella. "Oh spirits, I'm guessing your calling out as well."
"Yup," I say ticked off.
I was excited to see my animals. I quickly call in not leaving the living room, constantly watching Bella. Emily left and took Clair to daycare. Emily is attending online classes but likes to take them at the local library. She says it's quieter.
"Sorry, Sam… yeah, she just showed up… we won't leave her here alone. Don't worry… yeah, see you later." Paul says while on the phone with Sam. "So, what would you like to do today?"
"We could make dinner. Then lunches for the boys. I was also telling Emily about turning part of the backyard into a garden for food. Bringing down costs some more." I say.
"I guess that's our to do list for the day." Paul says. He pulls me into his arms and kisses me.
"Do you mind?" Bella asks rudely interrupting.
"Do you mind?" Paul asks in return starting to shake pulling away from me. "We were here first. You can leave." He spits back at her.
"I won't be leaving till Jake is here to speak to me." She says.
"Well, don't think you are getting anything from us." Paul says.
He leads me to the kitchen. I start making stuffed peppers for the guys. I know they love them. I'm trying to convince Emily to open a bakery. Her love for baking would take her far. Kim has agreed to help her. Emily says if she's going to do it, she wants help from all the imprints. She wants to call it Imprints Bakery with a wolf print as her logo with IB in the middle. I think it's a good idea. I agreed to help anywhere I can and to put up the initial investment.
We would put some of the money aside for future packs. We don't want them to ever go without. All of the businesses in the know of the wolves regularly put away money for the future packs. We make a ton of stuffed peppers. I put them to cook. That way Emily just has to heat them. I then start organizing things for lunches and making a list for shopping. I want to make sure the boys have something to eat during the day.
I have Paul flipping the soil out back to loosen it. Then he will be chopping veggies for lunch. I get started on breakfast muffins.
"Did I say you could have that?" I ask turning around. There Bella is trying to take one of the premade snacks for the boys.
"No, but I'm also not a wolf." She says.
"Yes, but you are also an unwelcome guest. I will not be feeding you." I say.
"This is Emily's food." She snubs me.
"Actually, Emily and I swap off paying for groceries. I paid this week, so it's my food." I say plucking the muffin out of her hands.
"So, you're going to just let me starve and die?" She asks. "I'll tell my dad that you did that."
"Not my fault you didn't eat before you came. You also refuse to leave. So, if you starve to death, it's your fault and now it sounds like a you problem." I say.
Ugg, I hate Bella. She needs to leave. Paul comes back in, and Bella shrinks away. She heads back to sit on the couch. I decide enough is enough. I pull out the big guns. I call Charlie.
"Hello, Charlie." I greet quietly.
"Hi Lindsey, how are you? How is Jake?" He asks.
"Jake's doing well, back at school with his friends. I could be much better." I say.
"Is everything alright?" He asks.
"No, your daughter has decided she will stay at Emily's till Jake gets home." I say.
"She's not at school?" He asks surprised.
"I don't think she went at all today. Jake should be here shortly, but you might want to make your way here if she doesn't want to leave." I say. He gives a sigh.
"Did you have the day off?" he asks.
"No, I took the day off." I say.
"I'm going to have her pay you back for that missed day." He says.
"I didn't miss pay, but Paul did. Staying with me as the first thing she did was push me. He didn't want to leave incase she decided to cause more trouble." I say.
"Well, then she will pay back both of your days. Just take the money. It will punish her." He says.
"Alright, I hear the boys. See you when you get here." I Say hanging up as Embry, Quil, and Jake arrive. "Jake!" I call before Bella notices he's here. All three boys look at me. I mouth to them to come over and I point to Bella. "She's been here all day."
"I'm so sorry, Lindsey. You don't deserve to have to babysit." Jake says looking so upset.
"Don't worry about it. I was able to help Emily out big time. I say comforting him. "We are all here for you."
"What are you doing here?" Jake asks Bella walking over to her. After he gives me a nod. She whips her head towards him.
"Jake!" she exclaims jumping up and running over to hug him. He puts his hand out preventing her from hugging him.
"What are you doing here, Bella?" Jake repeats the question.
"Your so-called friends are stopping me from seeing you, again." She tells him. I roll my eyes.
"Yeah, they are doing as I asked." He says.
"You don't want to see me? Well, I need to see you. We need to talk." She says ignoring her wants.
"Alright, talk." He sys crossing his arms and leaning against the counter.
The boys and I busy ourselves to not stare. They are helping me prepping lunches and easy make breakfasts.
"I meant talk alone," she says.
"Now, they are my pack. You can talk in front of them." He says.
"Fine, Edward broke up with me." She says.
"And?" he asks. "What does that have to do with me?"
"I need you to tell him that I don't love you. That I love him and need his to survive." She informs him.
"No thanks. I think it's good that he's going to go travel and find himself." Jake says. I smile. Go Jake!
"How did you know that? Did you have something to do with that?" Bella accuses.
"No, he told Lindsey. She told the pack." Jake says.
"But I need him." Bella whines.
"No, you don't. But if you think you do all the more reason for him to leave." Jake tells her.
"But we all know he's only leaving to keep me human. He doesn't want my soul taken." She says naively.
"If that's what you believe." Jake says with a sigh rolling his eyes.
He turns around to start helping me prep food. I hear her stomp her foot. Getting upset that Jake's not paying more attention to her.
"Why don't you care, Jake?" she whines.
"Because you aren't seeing what you did wrong. You're blaming others and wanting others to fix your mistakes. I'm done with that. I want to go out and find my imprint and she deserves my whole heart." Jake says to her exacerbated. I pat his back in support.
"But I didn't do anything wrong." She whines.
A knock comes from the door. I quickly slip away and answer it knowing it's Charlie.
"Hi Charlie, sorry to have to call you a second time." I say.
"I'm sorry you had to call me a second time." He replies with. I lead him into the kitchen. Bella hasn't seen him yet because she's still whining wanting Jake to fix her problems.
"Bella, what are you doing here? I told you to leave Jake alone." Charlie scolds. She whips around quickly.
"Daddy, arrest these people. They are keeping Jake hostage and starving me." Bella says trying to get us in trouble.
"Why in the world would you think that?" I as very confused.
"They aren't letting Jake come see me." She says.
"I don't think he wants to see you. That's what he told me when I saw him." Charlie says. "And for the starving. You weren't welcome here. They have no obligation to feed you when they wanted you to leave."
"No, he wants to see me. He has to tell Edward that I don't love him." She tells Charlie letting the starving thing drop.
"No, Jacob doesn't need to do anything but go to school." Charlie tells her.
"What's going on here?" Jared asks walking in. Paul walks over to him and catches him up. "Why the fuck is she still here? Why didn't you just pick her up and dump her on the front porch?"
"Didn't want her to kick and break something of Em's. Linds was hoping if she saw Jake and spoke to him, she would stop bothering us all and calling constantly." Paul tells him.
"It clearly won't help," Jared says.
"We see that now," Paul says. "That's why Linds called Charlie."
Charlie is talking to Bella trying to convince her to leave. Jake is clenching the counter. I walk over to him and put my hand on his bicep. He looks at me and gives me a very lost look. I take his hand and lead him to the bedroom. We get into Paul and my room. He sits down on the bed and takes a deep breath.
"How can I help?" I ask knowing that he isn't okay.
"You did exactly what I needed." Jake says putting his head in his hands.
"Need anything else?" I ask. "I can grab you a snack."
"A snack would be nice," he says.
I quickly go grab him a snack. Paul gives me a concerned look. I flash him a smile to tell him that I'm doing alright. I head back into the room and give Jake a breakfast muffin.
"This should help you feel less overwhelmed." I say.
"Thanks," he says.
"It's my fault. I should have had Paul just toss her on her ass on the porch," I say feeling guilty.
"It's not your fault. I needed to see this." Jake says.
"What do you mean needed to see this?" I ask.
"It made me disgusted of her. I'm not attracted to her at all anymore." He says.
"Well, that's good news." I say rubbing his back.
"You can head on back out. I think I want some time alone." He says.
"Alright, call for me if you need anything," I say. I walk out and join Paul.
"You okay?" Paul asks.
"Jake was getting overwhelmed, so I pulled him out of the middle of the situation." I say.
"Is he upset with us?" Paul asks concerned.
"No, he says he is glad he saw her. He no longer loves her." I say.
"That's a good thing," he says.
"That's what I said." I agree. Sam walks in.
"She's still here?" he asks.
"Yeah, unfortunately." I say.
"Well, then I shall deal with it." he says walking over to Bella. He throws her over his shoulder like a sac of potatoes. He drops her down on the porch and turns to Charlie. "Sorry, Charlie, Paul texted me keeping me up to date."
"I understand, Sam." He says.
"I needed her out of the house before Emily and Clair got back." He explains.
"Completely understandable." Charlie says. Bella starts screaming. "Enough Bella," Charlie yells.
"I've been told by Billy that he is banning Bella from the reservation. She will no longer be allowed on the reservation. Unless she gets special permission in writing from Billy, myself or someone else from the counsel. She is causing too much trouble." Sam says.
"Do you have the proper paperwork?" Charlie asks.
"Yeah, here," Sam says handing over a stack of papers.
"Alright, I will file this when I get to the station." He says after he looks through it making sure everything is all in order.
"Sounds good. Billy hopes this won't ruin your friendship." Sam says.
"No, she brought this on herself," Charlie replies.
"You are still allowed on the reservation to visit, Charlie." Sam tells him. Charlie nods in understanding.
"I can't come back to the reservation?!" Bella screeches. Bella stomps her foot in frustration. She looks ready to throw herself to the ground and start kicking and screaming like a toddler.
"No, not anymore," Sam says crossing his arms.
