Evie's POV

Arriving at school I see Care looking really put out. So, I head over.

"You okay?" I ask her.

"I thought Matt and I had a moment." Care tells me.

"A moment? I need more details to understand." I tell her.

"He spent last night cuddling with me then snuck out in the middle of the night. Then today he just said 'hey' to me. That was it." She says getting distressed.

"Relax, I would talk to him. Who knows what's going on in his head." I reply.

I head to history class. I see Bonnie come in she looks really haunted. I give her a questioning look. She just mouths 'not right now' to me. I'm worried about her. She looks like she hasn't slept in a week. A new teacher is writing his name or what I would assume is his name on the board.

"Good Morning everyone. Alrighty." The new teacher calls our attention. "Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful, I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is of German origins. My family emigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I will never be able to thank enough. You'll probably want to pronounce 'Alaric' but it's 'Ah-laric,' okay? So, you can call me Rick. I'm your new history teacher."

He continues to lecture till the end of the period.

"Evelyn," Alaric calls.

"Yeah," I reply.

"Do you think you could come see me at lunch?" He asks me.

"Sure," I say then leave.

Damon's POV

After Evie dropped of Blaise Lexi came out to say hi to him. I left the curtains closed around the house so she could walk around the entire house. She plays with Blaise. Evie was telling me to feed him mushed banana to get him started in solids. Lexi puts him in his high chair and feeds him a few bites of banana.

"I have no idea how such a cute kid is yours." Lexi says.

"He's a great easy going baby. I got lucky." I tell her making breakfast. I make coffee for Stefan to wake him up. I clean Blaise up after Lexi is done feeding him.

"Thanks for not killing me." She says.

"How did you find out?" I ask.

"Evie told us. She also mentioned that you changed. I didn't fully believe it but I've been watching you this whole visit and I have to say I agree. You have change." She tells me.

"Thanks, I think." I leave and head into Stefan's room holding a cup of coffee and Blaise. I put the coffee down and open the curtain. "Rise and shine!" Blaise squeals and I hand him the coffee. "You'll be late for school."

"What? What are you doing?" Stefan ask confused taking the coffee.

"Peace offering. Come on, you need it for blood circulation. Does dead flesh good!" I tell him leaving the room.

"He okay?" Lexi asks.

"I wouldn't go in there. I opened the curtain." I tell her heading back down to the living room to put Blaise on his play mat for a bit before we go for our daily walk.

Evie's POV

I sit outside with Elena and Bonnie at some benches. Bonnie has been explaining to us her dreams.

"And then, I ended up at the remains of the old Fell's church before I woke up back in the woods." Bonnie continues.

"And you always see your ancestor Emily?" Elena asks.

"Mhm. Do you believe in ghosts?" Bonnie asks us.

"Yes," I say no hesitation.

"Two weeks ago I'd say no, but now..." Elena trails off.

"Because I think I'm being haunted." Bonnie says. I see Jeremy walking past knowing he has to go meet Alaric as well I run and catch up with him.

"Where you off to?" I ask him.

"To meet the new history teacher." He says.

"I need to see him as well. He doesn't seem like a bad dude. So far anyway." I tell him bumping his shoulder. We see Alaric is eating his lunch at his desk.

"Hey Mr. Saltzman, I'm Jeremy Gilbert. You wanted to see me?" Jeremy says.

"You know that your old teacher had a jackass file? No joke." Alaric says after he finishes chewing. Jer and I look at him with wide eyes as he holds up a file. "It's typed on a label. It has all the troublemakers in it. But really it's just an opus- to you. Don't worry about it. I'm not him. Clean slate. Now...let's talk about grades." He throws the file in the trash.

"I know it's been a rough couple of months, but I've been trying to turn them around." Jer tries to explain.

"Yeah, I saw that. But, the problem is, we're halfway through a semester and half a fail is still pretty bleak." Alaric says then waits a few moments in awkward silence.

"I think that's your cue," I whisper loudly to Jer.

"This is the part where he says to me, 'But what can I do to change that?' I'm glad you asked! How do you feel about extra credit?" Alaric fills in and I chuckle.

"Yeah, yeah, totally! Whatever." Jer agrees completely. Go little brother!

"Good! Write me a paper, then." Alaric smiles as he says this.

"Okay. About what?" Jer asks confused.

"History. Pick a topic, keep it local, and no Wikipedia-regurgita. These old towns have a rich history, so just get your hands dirty, make it sing and your back on track. Deal?" Alaric offers.

"Yeah. Deal." Jer agrees. He then points to the large ring of Alaric's finger. I get this familiar feeling wash over me. Like I've seen it before. Or one that's very similar. "That's a cool ring."

"Oh, thanks. It was my father's. A little garish, but family, you know?" Alaric gets awkward and then he clears his throat returning to the topic. "You've got a week."

Jer leaves to think on ideas.

"Now, Evelyn. There is a file in here that is actually very disgusting if I do say so. I just wanted to let you know that I have throw the file out and I hope to bleach it from my brain." Alaric says with a shiver in disgust.

"I'm going to gather it was pornographic in nature. He tried to assault me, but my boyfriend stopped it from happening." I tell him shifting from foot to foot feeling uncomfortable. "Thanks," I quickly take my leave. I lean against the wall outside the door my head tipped back taking breaths to calm myself down. Reminding myself that he's gone he can't hurt me. I decide to text Damon.

Hi

Ah oh you don't normally start your texts like that. Are you alright?

No, turns out Tanner had a pornographic file on me in his desk.

What?! You're joking.

I wish I was. It has me a little freaked out.

Don't worry he is long dead he can't hurt you. I won't let anyone hurt you like that again. I knew there was a reason I was grateful he's dead.

Thanks Damon. I really needed this.

No problem. Well on to a happier topic. Blaise seems to like Bunny's. We saw one on our walk and he wanted to grab it.

Yeah, he's been like that with bugs and animals lately. I just hope he doesn't give himself a disease, when I'm not looking.

He won't you're a great mom. I'll text you later.

Okay. I end my conversation with him feeling a lot better. I head down the hall and see Care and Matt talking. I sneak past them without them noticing. I also see Stefan and Elena talking as well. It seems o be getting heated. Oh god I just can't win. I see Damon in the parking lot talking to Bonnie. He looks concerned. I head over.

"You sure your alright?" I hear Damon ask her.

"Yeah, just not getting enough sleep." Bonnie brushes off.

"Well, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask either myself or Evie. She will make sure I get the message." Damon offers. Bonnie heads off into her car where Elena is now waiting in the passenger seat.

"Hey, I thought you might want Blaise sooner then normal after this terrible day." He says handing me Blaise and wrapping his arms around us, kissing my forehead. I nod into his chest.

"I should get going I told Jenna I would meet her at the grill." I tell him.

He gives me a kiss then we part ways. I head to my car him to his. I buckle Blaise in then drive to the grill. Blaise and I arrive at the grill and as I walk in I see Jenna and Jer sitting at a booth. I walk over with Blaise.

"I like a man who can dine alone. A quiet strength." Jenna says.

"What did I just walk into?" I ask sitting down confused. Jenna takes Blaise from my arms almost right away to cuddle with him.

"I thought you were still in that whole Logan-depression thing." Jer points out.

"I've sworn off men forever, but it doesn't mean I can't observe them from a safe distance." Jenna admits.

"That won't last long." I say with a chuckle. Jer chuckles as Jenna glares at us.

"Well, I can introduce you." Jer offers.

"Did you hear Jer was given an extra credit assignment to boost his grade?" I ask Jenna with a smile.

"On what topic?" She asks smiling as well, looking over to Jer.

"Have to pick one." He says.

"Have you picked a topic?" She questions.

"No, not yet. It's gotta be local and non-internet research, so..." Jer trails off not sure where to go.

"That's easy! You've got all your dad's stuff." Jenna exclaims excitedly.

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that stuff!" I exclaim my eyes lighting up.

"What stuff?" Jer asks confused.

"'How the Gilberts came over on the Mayflower' stuff, all that family lineage from way back. Your dad really loved all that family history stuff. It's all boxed up in the closet." Jenna explains. Alaric walks up to our table.

"Alaric," I greet.

"Mr. Saltzman." Jer greets at the same time.

"Evie, Jeremy. What's up, man?" He greets then asks Jer.

"This is my aunt, Jenna and nephew, Blaise," Jer introduces. I look up to see Damon walk in. He gives me a smile and a nod and heads to the bar for a drink. I smile and nod back.

"Alaric Saltzman. It's nice to meet you." Alaric introduces politely shaking her free hand.

"Jeremy was just telling me about his paper. Thanks for giving him another chance." Jenna thanks.

"It was my first day. I wanted to make a good impression." Alaric says. "So, this is the little boy you had?"

"Yeah, this is my son, Blaise." I say knowing he either heard the gossip or read it in that file.

"He is very cute kid." Alaric says not seeming to know what else to say.

"Yeah, he's an easy baby so I lucked out on that one." I say with a chuckle. I look down at my phone and gasp. "Awe shit! I gotta be home for the sleepover." Jenna hands Blaise back and I quickly hurry Blaise and I back to the house.

"So your saying there's a ghost named Emily that's haunting you. She wants this crystal that's Damon's There is just way too much drama in this room. So, what do you guys wanna do? I have an idea. Why don't we have a séance?" I hear Caroline suggest as I walk in.

"I don't think that's a good idea." Bonnie says nervously.

"Come on. Let's summon some spirits. This Emily chick has some serious explaining to do." Care says getting up.

"I clearly missed a lot." I say. They all turn to me.

"What do you know about this Emily?" Care asks me.

"I know I have her crystal upstairs. Maybe using it will help summon her." I suggest going upstairs and grabbing it from under Blaise's mattress.

I put Blaise in his bouncer and bring in into Elena's room. We turn out the lights and light some candles. I put the battery candle that Care gave Blaise a while back on his bouncer for him to play with. I hand the necklace to Bonnie and she puts it on.

"What are we doing?" Bonnie asks confused as we just all sit in a circle. Blaise a little bit behind me. Close enough for me to reach him if he gets scared.

"I don't know." Elena replies.

"Be quiet and concentrate. Close your eyes. Now take a deep breath. Bonnie. Call to her." Care orders.

"Emily, you there?" Bonnie questions timidly.

"Really? 'Emily, you there?' That's all you got? Come on." Care taunts.

"Fine, geez. Emily. I call on you. I know you have a message. I'm here to listen." Bonnie says more convincingly. The candles immediately flare stronger. I quickly look to Blaise. He seems to be contently playing with his shapes. Hitting it as it says "circle" every time he hits it. At least he's happy.

"Did that just..." Elena slowly says in fear. I nod a little intimidated.

"Yeah, it just happened." Care says

"It's just the air conditioning." Bonnie tries to reason.

"Ask her to show you a sign. Ask her. Emily, if you're among us, show us another sign." Care asks. All we hear out of no where is a loud "Square." Come from Blaise's bouncing chair. We all jump then laugh. I quickly turn the sound off for now. I'll turn it back on when we're done.

"See? It's not working." Bonnie says then the windows suddenly blow open. Blaise starts to cry at the noise. I turn to him to calm him. "I can't, I'm done." Bonnie rips the necklace off and throws it on the ground next to the candles, which blow out, scaring her more. "Get the light. Please, get the light!"

"Hold on. I got it." Elena says getting up to turn on the light. When the light turns on we look to the burnt out candles.

"You guys, the necklace. It's gone." Bonnie notices right away.

"Shit!" I exclaim. "Damon will be so upset with me." We all stand there shocked. I pick Blaise up to comfort him more.

"Okay, fun's over, who took it?" Elena asks.

Bonnie, Care and I shake our heads. "Why would I?" Care asks.

"I don't know. Jeremy, are you home?" Elena calls out. She walks into the hall looking for Jer. Bonnie and I follow. I see Bonnie walk in the washroom.

"Guys..." Bonnie says. The door slams shut as soon as she's inside the room. "You guys open the door! Help me!" She bangs on the door.

"Bonnie! Bonnie! What's going on, Bonnie?" Elena exclaims.

"Bonnie!" Care and I cry out at the same time. We all are pounding at the door.

"Try the other door. I'll check the hallway." I suggest.

"Bonnie! Bonnie! Unlock the door!" Care cries out at the other door.

"Bonnie! Bonnie! Bonnie! Open the door!" Elena calls out at the opposite door. I call out at the door from the hall.

The door opens. Bonnie stands with her head in her hands.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Elena asks as we all crowd the door in Elena's room.

"I'm fine." Bonnie says in a dull tone. It almost doesn't sound like her. I quickly text Damon telling him hat somethings wrong.

"Unbelievable. You were totally faking it." Care says not believing it.

"Caroline, come on." Elena tries to get Care to see that something was really wrong.

"No! You scared the hell out of me." Care exclaims pissed off.

"Bonnie?" Elena asks probably thinking that something is up as well.

"I'm fine. Everything's fine." Bonnie says in a dull tone again.

Bonnie then suddenly takes off down that stairs. We all follow. I have Blaise cradled to my chest.

"I can't believe I fell for it." Care says still pissed off.

"Are you okay?" I ask Bonnie.

"I must go." Bonnie says strangely.

"She's leaving. I'm leaving." Care announces.

"You guys can't leave." Elena says getting upset.

"I can. I've had enough freaky fake witch stuff for one night." Care says having had enough.

"Thank you for having me. I'll take it from here." Bonnie says.

"Where are you going?" Elena asks.

"Back to where it all began." Bonnie replies.

"Emily?" I ask. She just looks at me as if to acknowledge me.

"Bonnie! Bonnie! Oh My God! Emily!" Elena cries out.

"I won't let him have it. It must be destroyed." Emily says in Bonnies body. They leave closing the door behind them.

"Wait!" Elena shouts. She tries to open the door but it won't open.

I look at my phone and see no text from Damon. I quickly call him.

"What's up, buttercup?" He asks answering the phone.

"Somethings wrong, Damon." I say paniked.

"What's wrong?" He asks seriously.

"Emily is now in Bonnie's body. I don't know where Bonnie went. I'm scared. Blaise is scared." I tell him terrified. The door finally opens and Jer walks in. Care, Elena and I scream. Blaise cries louder. Jer gives us a confused look.

"What the hell?" Jer asks.

"I'm outta here." Care says leaving pissed off.

Elena calls Stefan. Stefan arrives at our place.

"Where's Damon?" I ask.

"He took off after Bonnie." Stefan replies.

"I'm going to get Blaise calm then I'll go to the old church and meet you there." I say heading upstairs to calm my son down. I finally get Blaise to calm down and head to the old church. I see Damon sitting in the woods near the ruins. Stefan beats me there.

"Katherine never compelled me. I knew everything. Every step of the way. It was real for me. I'll leave now." Damon tells him. Stefan then turns away and walks over to Bonnie and Elena after seeing me.

"So, you plan on leaving Blaise and I?" I ask a little upset.

"Evie, what are you doing here?" He asks surprised.

"Well, I came here to help if I could." I say with a shrug sitting beside him. "So, you never answered my question."

"No, I would take you two with me." He says.

"I haven't graduated yet, Damon. I can't leave." I tell him gently.

"This was supposed to be the easy part. It was supposed to be easy. I waited so long." He says putting his head on my shoulder and cries.

"I'm sorry, Damon. We will find a way." I say soothing him. Blaise tries to give Damon his toy.

"Thanks buddy. I don't think Penguin is gonna help this." He says to Blaise. He looks over to Elena and Bonnie suddenly. "I think Stefan and Elena are breaking up."

"Again? Jeese that's what? The fifth time in two days?" I say

"You're not going to go to her?" He asks surprised.

"No, you need us more." I tell him.

Eventually, Damon brings Blaise and I back to my place. Damon decided he wanted to spend the night with us, here. He says it's calmer. Not sure if I believe that. Damon takes Blaise for a shower. So, I head downstairs.

"Damon spending the night?" Jenna asks me.

"Yeah, he had a tough night." I reply.

"Alright, be safe." She jokes.

"Yeah, because we wanna have sex with a baby in the room. What a mood setter?" I joke back. The doorbell rings and I head with Jenna to get it curious on who it could be this late at night.

"Hello, Jenna." Logan Fell greets smiling on the doorstep

"Logan!" Jenna exclaims in shock.

"Aren't you gonna invite me in?" Logan asks.

"Nope." I say slamming the door in his face.
