I put periods in the empty spots where the spaces are because if I don't then FFN squishes all my paragraphs together.
I've tried everything. The sites formatting just hates me.
.
I decided to make this after playing Pokémon Violet and remembering a fic about a guy who'd inserted into Volkner as the Sunnyshore Gym Leader.
I can't remember its name for the life of me. If I ever find it again I'll mention it here.

AMEXX: It goes on!
Trinix8: He has a Dragapult already.

-Character description-
.
Blake is a five foot seven inch tall young man. He takes primarily after his father in looks. With sharp eyes, an oval face and thin frame. His hair is a dark purple similar to his mother and cousin, but is wavy like his fathers. Overall his Sinnoan heritage is very prominent.
He inherited a sense of fashion from both of his parents. Preferring formal attire over casual or relaxed. Dressing mostly in what many would call a bartender suit in blacks and purples. With a mega stone silver necklace he inherited from his mother.
He is kind like his parents but holds a mischievous streak a mile long. Many have compared his smile to that of a Gengars when he gets mischievous.

Blake POV
.
'Well, he wasn't kidding about the hazing.' I think to myself as I stare at my room in the Gym Trainers wing.
The Gym Trainers wing is more of a barracks mixed with an apartment. Each trainer gets their own room. But that room is scarcely furnished and you're only allowed a certain number of personal alterations to the room. Basically you can add it, so long as whatever you put in can be removed in a day. By yourself.
Don't get me wrong, Gym Trainers aren't required to room in the Gym. But there are two types of Gym Trainers. Static and rotationary.
Rotationary Gym Trainers are on probationary work. And they rotate around the gyms at infrequent intervals. Changing their teams and learning how to handle all types. There are several reasons someone might be a rotationary trainer. A common one is to learn how to handle and deal with Pokémon of all types. With the eventual goal of signing on with the league as an Ace.
They're the ones who mostly use the Gym Trainers wing.
Static trainers on the other hand, are here to stay. And more often than not have permanent residence in the city. They're often trainers who grew up around the area and have no desire to leave. But also enjoy battling and are good at it. Some just don't have any other options. And some sign on to be a static trainer in the hopes that they'll succeed the Gym Leader.
It doesn't happen often. But it does happen. Roxanne of the Hoenn region is one such example. Maylene of Sinnoh is another. Iris would have been another such case if everything went to plan.
Now the Opelucid Gym is full of static trainers. None of whichwho're happy with me taking a spot they believe themselves entitled to.
Which brings us, to now.
"Mimi." I say softly to the Mimikyu currently in the middle of the room. Holding two such trainers up from the ceiling by her shadows.
One guy and one girl. Drugal and his girlfriend if I can recall correctly.
Mimi's wearing a purple Gengar plush as opposed to a Pikachu plush. Just so you know.
"Miiii?" She asks innocently in a wispy voice.
"Let them down." I tell her with a smile.
"Miiiiii?" She asks as she turns from side to side. Looking around as though to say "Let who down? I don't see anyone."
I smile at her as I give a small shake of my head before going down to pick her up. Holding her at my level and turning her around to see the two tied up in her shadows.
"KyyUUuuu." She says, a sort of, "Oh, thooossse two."
With near blinding speed. Her shadows recede back into her and the two trainers fall to the floor in a heap on each other.
They get up in a huff and stare me down. As though it's my fault they were in my room and got caught.
"So, wanna tell me what you planned on doing in here?" I ask with a false smile.
"We don't have to explain anything to you." The girl says as she shoves past me.
"It's not your room anyway." Drugal says as he shoves past me as well.
I watch them walk out of the room in a huff. Disgruntled and clearly needing a chill pill.
"Hmm." I hum in thought as I walk into my room proper. "What to do."
"Miii?" I feel a light tap on my cheek.
Looking down to the purple doll in my arms. I see her holding up two phones.
"Oh you little minx!" I say with a shit eating grin as I tickle her through the fabric.
"Mimimimimi!" She giggles.
"Skips, you there?" I call out.
"Roootototo!" I feel a bit of static shock as Skips, my Rotom, flies out of my phone in my pocket. I'm used to it.
"Wanna start some mischief?" I ask.
.
.
-A few hours later-
.
.
*Slam*
'And there goes my door.' I think to myself.
"YOU SINNOAN PIECE OF SHIT!" Drugal roars as he marches into my room.
I turn in my swivel chair, away from my desk, just in time for him to hoist me by my collar.
"This is the second time you've been in my room Drugal." I say cheekily. "People are gonna talk."
"Shut the fuck up!" He spits in my face. "You know what you did and you're gonna pay!" he raises a fist.
"Okay, I'm genuinely confused." I raise a finger to stop him. "I've done a lot, you're going to need to specify."
"You blasted everyone's phones with me and my girlfriends pics!" He roars.
I did do that.
"Well, you violated my privacy. I figured I'd return the favor." I respond evenly.
I can hear Lake laughing in my shadow.
Don't see what he's so upset about. There wasn't even anything all that spicy on his or her phones. The worst was him showing his abs and doing cringey poses. And her retuning them with pics of her in her underwear. It was really bland.
Hell the middle schoolers at Naranja have spicier love lives than he does. I would know. I was one of them.
Okay let's not lie to ourselves here, I wasn't. I dated like, two girls and the best I got was second base.
"You're DEAD!" Drugal shouts and cocks back his fist again.
"Well then." I say evenly. "Sweet dreams."
Right as he throws his fist forward. Lake hops out of my shadow and stops his fist with his body. Lakes ability activates and purple spidery veins extend down Drugals hand.
"What the fuck!" He roars in surprise. Backpedaling as he lets me.
I fix my collar and straighten my vest as Drugal falls to his ass.
"Arm fall asleep?" I ask knowingly. "Yeah, that happens when you punch a Gengar."
"You! You let a Gengar in your shadow?!" He exclaims.
Right. There's this superstition that you'll have your life cut in half if you let a Gengar in your shadow. It's bullshit of course. If it wasn't then I dread to think how old Agatha would live to be. She has two Gengar she lets room in her shadow. And she's ninety two. Her daughter Bertha is sixty six.
"I let more than just Lake here stay in there." I say with a shrug. "But there's only so much room at a time. Look, this is getting tiresome. You keep pulling this macho man alpha male shtick and it keeps getting you nowhere."
I can see the veins in his head popping at my casual disrespect of him. But I've truly grown tired of this.
Don't get me wrong. I deal with ghosts. I can't make a cup of coffee in the morning without the furniture being rearranged and needing to find the coffee maker. It's just what they do.
But so far I've been shoulder checked in the hall. Multiple times by multiple people. Had my clothes thrown out into the lawn. My room trashed. It's why I keep Mimi in here. And my left shoes go missing.
Okay that last one might be Lake.
"So, I propose a compromise." I say.
"Fuck you and your compromises." He says as he stands up. The purple veins on his arm starting to recede.
"A challenge then." I say.
Gotta remember I'm dealing with dragon trainers not ghost.
Dealing with ghosts is all about compromise and understanding. With dragons it's about respect. There's a reason dragon trainers have an air of authority about them. They learn to project that presence. If they didn't then their own Pokémon would stop listening to them.
"What challenge." He seethes.
"A one v. one." I say evenly. "You win, I leave the region. I win, you leave the city."
"Deal!" He says. "When?"
"I'm free the rest of the afternoon." I say with a shrug.
"Alright, five. Afterwards you leave." He says and marches out of my room.
*Slam*
"Y'know, it's kind of surprising that door is still functional at this point."
I'm not worried. Sure Drugal is one of the top Gym Trainers here. But that just shows why Drayden outsourced for Gym Leader candidates. I've seen him battle. He commands dragons better than most could ever hope to come close to doing. But that's it. He has no personal strategy, no personal touch to battling. No, anything that sets him above and beyond the rest. He has no, je ne sais quoi.
"I am thinking in Kalosian." I say out loud. "Great, I'm turning into my mother."
I go to sit back down in my chair. Only to find Lake in. Arms crossed and with sunglasses on.
"You gonna move?" I ask.
"Ge." He shakes his head.
"So I just, have to work around you then." I say as I fold my arms with a smirk.
"Ge." He nods.
"Cool, but you forgot something." I say as I smile.
"Geee?" He questions with a head tilt.
I lean forward a to whisper. As though what I'm saying is juicy secret.
"That chair, has wheels." I say in a hushed voice before grabbing an arm and scooting him out of the way.
"Gar!" He scoffs in mock offense as I grab a fold out chair from beside my desk.

That's when a miracle occurred and a Primeape showed up. After the Primeape beat the Bisharp, Blake took it back to be healed. And got detention for two weeks. It was this instance that gave Blake a reality check and showed him that talent is nothing without hard work.
Strategies
Bork is Blakes answer to dark and normal types. With Bork being unusually calm for an Annihilape, on the surface. Bork waits and cages his rage. Until the right opportunity to inflict the most pain arises. Blake has to be careful with this, if he lets Bork store too much rage he becomes feral.

Item: King's Rock
Moves:
Phantom Force
Wave Crash

Aqua Jet
How they met
When venturing near the great crater of Paldea on his Treasure Hunt. Blake ran into a school of oddly colored Basculin's. Believing them to be a rare, undiscovered regional variant. He caught the school and sent them home for Professor Rowan to study. Only for Rowan to find the method to evolving them. Something the red and blue Basculins are entirely incapable of. Blake requested one of the Basculins back and trained it himself and went through the arduous task of evolving it.
Fun Fact: Due to not being able to find any more schools of White-Striped Basculins. They were not given the regional variant moniker.
Strategies
Wisp is another of Blake's powerhouses. Wisp is deceptively calm, waiting and moving slowly, even allowing itself to be hit before catching opponents off guard with massive bursts of speed.

Strategies
Lake is prankster down to his core. Using status move to debilitate and then using moves that work of those.
Lake was a part of Blake's Sinnoh League team.
.

.
A/N
Blake's Pokémon mainly consist of those found in either Paldea or Alola. Which makes sense. Ever since he was ten he spent a school year in Paldea, came home, spent half his summer break in Alola. Then spent the rest of his break in Herthome City.
.
When it came to the ghost Pokémon from Hisui. I rolled a die to determine which one Blake would have.
I'm kinda miffed I didn't land Hisuian Zoroak.
But that's fine. He needed a water type anyway.

I do a thing where I post my response to the reviews at the beginning right after the A/N because I love interacting with you guys.

QUESTIONS!
Post a question in the reviews and I'll answer it.
I went through the guidelines and discover Q&A's aren't allowed. But I read further and found they're not allowed as singular posts. In the same way a new chapter can't be an Authors Note and nothing else.
SO I'M GOOD!
