I wanted my revenge, and I planned on getting it, there was just one problem: Bella. I had already figured out what to do about Charlie, but I felt so guilty leaving Bella in the condition she was in! I needed someone to look after her, to make sure she didn't try anything crazy. I'd been in Forks for about a month now and Bella had tried enough crazy things to make me scared to leave her alone. With every passing day, I grew more and more furious at Edward, even though I had never met this guy in my life! I'd been putting it off for a while, hoping Bella would move on and get better. But she didn't, only making me more sure that he must have done something awful that Bella wouldn't speak of. Whatever he did, he wasn't getting away with it. But leaving Bella would be difficult. I didn't want her to think that I was giving up on her, or that I wasn't coming back, but if I told her what I was doing she would surely react badly. But one day, something happened to change my mind.
Charlie was driving to a friend's house to watch a football game, and as it was a Saturday, Bella and I were coming with. That was the first time I met Jacob. He was huge. Instantly, my heart started pounding! There were werewolves? Here?! But didn't that also mean there were... vampires? My head was spinning, it was hard to breathe! Breath Demi, you're over this. You're okay. Remember, the past is the past, and there's nothing you can do about it but move on! I tried to take a deep breath and focus on the world around me. When Jacob saw Bella, his whole face lit up as though the actual sun had come to see him. It was ridiculous! "Bella!" He called, not even seeing me! "Hey, Jake!" Bella looked much better than I had seen her in weeks! I cleared my throat. "Demi." He nodded with much less enthusiasm. "You know me?!" I asked, surprised. That whole afternoon, Bella seemed a little bit more alive than usual. It gave me an idea. As we were getting ready to leave, I grabbed Jacob by the arm. "I need to talk to you for a second," I muttered. "About what?" He asked suspiciously. "I'm sure you've noticed that Bella hasn't exactly been herself for a while." Understatement of the century. He nodded. "Well, I have to head back to Arizona soon, and I'm hoping maybe you and your pack could keep an eye on her while I'm gone." "How do you know what I am?" He asked suspiciously. "It doesn't matter how I know, just watch out for her, okay?" I snapped, walking out the door.
We where walking down a dark street, our arms linked, laughing, when suddenly I stopped and looked around. We must have taken a wrong turn. "I think we made a wrong turn." I said. He nodded in agreement. "let's go back the way we came." He suggested. We tried to find our way back but only found ourselves getting more and more lost, until we found ourselves in a dark alleyway. I paused to pull out my phone to call Renee, but sudenly heard a voice. "My my, you two stopped by at the perfect time." Said a voice from the shadows. Then something lunged, and I started screaming, and then there was fire everywhere! Smoke filled my lungs and I tried to scream but couldn't! Sudenly, I realized the fire was on me! Burning me, burning my hair, my clothes, everything! "Somebody help!" I screamed.
And then I woke up, as though even my unconsious mind wouldn't let me open up the rest of that memory. I realized I was screaming in real life too and clamped a hand over my mouth, only to realize it was shaking. I felt something sharp, and looked down to see my nails had extended, and where very sharp, almost more like claws! They where also red, as though they had been painted. "No." I whispered. This couldn't happen, not right now! Not here! On shaking legs, I stood and went into the bathroom where I locked the door and turned on the light. Taking a deep breath, I turned to face my reflection. The tips of my hair where bright red, matching the color of my claw-nails. I opened my mouth, not surprised to see the sharpness of my canines, like what most people think vampires look like. And my eyes where the same color as my nails and hair, like a real vampire. I collapsed to the ground, shaking as the memories washed over me. I tried to fight them off, but they just kept coming. Sudenly, a terrifying thought jarred me back to reality. What would happen if Bella and Charlie saw me like this?! Terrified, I lept to my feet. I had to get out of here! I had to leave so no one would see me like this. I would go to Ithaca, New York, to find Edward and teach him a lesson. By the time I arrived I would be back to normal, so it wouldn't matter anyways! But first, I had to leave Charlie a message. I left the bathroom and with shaking hands, got out a pen and paper.
Charlie,
I know you'll be mad but I'm sorry, I couldn't take it anymore. I can't stand to see Bella the way she is so I'm going to New York to teach that guy a lesson. Don't worry, I won't do anything extreme. Tell Bella what ever you want, it's up to you. I'll be back soon
Love, Demi
I left the note on the counter where Charlie would surely see it, grabbed the Keys, and got in the car. The sun was just beginning to rise when I left Washington, along with my spirits. Tho only thought in my head as I sped down the road, humming to the song on the radio was I'm coming for you, Edward. I was totally unprepared for the horrible surprise that awaited me in New York.
Yay, another chapter! And you now have a hint at Demi's past and at what's "wrong" with her. I know you're probably dying to know the details of what on earth happened and what is the deal with all this red and fire, but don't worry, you'll find out soon ;) I'd just like to say that for the sake of this plot, some things will be different, like Edward actually stayed with the rest of the Cullen's because otherwise the plot I have planned would be TOTALLY ruined. Anyways, I'm so happy to see I now have people who are favoriting and following my story, but no reviews yet! Love you guys, byeeee! 3 3 3
