Chapter 42: Promises Beyond Limits: Akira's Triumph Over Zollmon
"It's time I show you my real power." Akira says with a serious expression.
Akira began to charge up his Ki before he began unleashing a large amount of Ki. Akira continued to unleash his Ki as he unleashed a Silky White Pillar of Aura that shot straight up into the sky, blowing all of the clouds away. After the bright light settled down, Akira has successfully transformed into his Potential Unleashed State.
"Now... Let us see who's stronger, Me or You..." Akira said with a serious and calm facial expression.
"Black hair? This isn't any Super Saiyan transformations my Master told me about…" Zollmon said, baffled before laughing, "Is that the best you can do?! What exactly is that supposed to be?! And here, I was expecting more… It Doesn't matter what you do! I'm going to crush you the way you should've been crushed the moment you met me—".
Zollmon suddenly stops and makes a facial expression out of pain, which was made due to how fast Akira moved to punch Zollmon directly in the gut, with all the air having been knocked out of Zollmon.
"Do you still think this form is a Joke?" Akira told him.
Zollmon collapses to his knees and has his arms covering his stomach as he comments; "Agh! How did you do that?! I didn't even see you move!...".
Zollmon gets back up and glares at Akira. "Don't assume that one lucky shot is going to change the outcome of the fight! I will not allow myself to be beaten by the likes of you! You'll regret ever speaking to me like that again!".
"Now Show me what this power of yours can really do!!" Zollmon shouts as he dashes towards Akira, attempting to attack him.
Akira effortlessly backhands Zollmon while saying; "Gladly then."
After taking the hit, Zollmon jumps back and tries to regain his composure as he thought; "How Is this scrawny kid, so fast?! I can't begin to detect his movements and yet, He's more powerful than he was before! Just what exactly did he do?! Curse that, Brat!".
In the next second, Akira comes dashing down towards Zollmon from above. This prompts Zolmon to charge up his Ki, releasing a purple Aura. Zollmon dodges Akira's attack and he forms a purple energy sphere in his right hand as he shouts out; "You will not make a fool out of me, warrior! You'd be lucky enough to survive what's coming to you! Now, take this!!".
Zollmon fires off a Full Power Energy Wave at Akira and once the dust settles down, Akira's body is blown to smithereens and Zollmon smirks before saying; "This battle is over! There is no room for a weakling like you to be a part of anything! I have won this battle!".
Being unknown to Zollmon, Akira appears behind Zollmon and says; "This twisted Ideology for power has blinded you so much, you cannot be redeemed. My Apologies…".
Akira fires off a point-blank energy wave at Zollmon that sends him flying into several boulders. Once the smoke has settled, it appears Zollmon has some small scratches and bruises on him.
"Th-This can't be happening… How is this possible?... Where… Did he discover this kind of power?...". Zollmon commented, being disoriented.
Zollmon then becomes annoyed and shouts; "This isn't over yet! I still have a lot of untapped power ready to be used for my benefits!!".
Right as Zollmon dashes towards Akira and throws a punch at him, Akira blocks Zollmon's attack and upward kicks him in the chin, stunning him. Akira then finishes the attack by landing a strong punch to Zollmon's stomach, inflicting a large amount of damage. Zollmon throws another punch at Akira, but Akira grabs Zollmon's head and kicks Zollmon in the face, knocking him back several meters.
Right as Zollmon stood back up, Akira instantly appeared in front of Zollmon and blasts him away with a point-blank range Energy Wave.
Zollmon is now lying on the ground with several injuries and bruises.
"Why can't I get a clear read on him?! His power level is completely unreadable! How can I lose to this human?!... How can this be happening?! I refuse to accept this! No, this isn't over yet!".
Akira walks towards Zollmon and says; "I'm not quite sure why you chose to fight me, but there's no point in continuing. I will not allow you to harm this planet any further".
Zollmon stands up and charges at Akira.
"You're nothing but a fool, Human! You are not worthy of possessing that power!".
"What would you know, Zollmon?!".
"Silence, Human! You're finished!!".
Zollmon continues to charge towards Akira.
"That's far enough! You are not going to hurt anyone else anymore!".
Akira punches Zollmon, sending him crashing to the ground.
Zollmon looks around frantically.
"Wait a minute! Where is he?! Where did he go?!".
"Looking for me?".
"Huh?!".
Zollmon is grabbed from behind and thrown into the air.
"Gwaaah!".
Zollmon is then met with a punch to the stomach and another punch to the face. Next, Akira delivers a blow that turns Zollmon 180 degrees before Akira kicks him away.
"Arghh!! Dammit!".
"Had enough yet?".
Zollmon's left eye begins to twitch.
"I won't allow this, Human!".
Zollmon then unleashes a massive surge of energy and screams at the top of his lungs, creating a gigantic shockwave that destroys the entire area.
"What the?! What is this power?!".
"It seems you've tapped into your Demon God Ki, Zollmon".
"Silence, Human scum!! I am far stronger than you! You will die by my hand!!".
"I'd like to see you try!!' Akira shouts out as he charges straight towards Zollmon.
Akira lands a punch with the back of his fist used to stun Zollmon before following it up by kicking Zollmon in the stomach. Next, he does a 360 spin, kicking Zollmon in the neck. Last, Akira moves behind Zollmon and knocks him down to the ground with a left hook, inflicting a huge amount of damage.
"Impossible, This is utterly impossible!".
"This fight is over, Zollmon. Give up!".
"Never!".
Akira begins to charge his energy and releases it, causing a bright white aura. Akira focuses his Ki into his fist as he is using rapid movement to confront Zollmon and punches him, resulting in a big shockwave.
"That's enough!".
Akira punches Zollmon a few times, before launching him high into the air and he jumps above him.
"This is the end, Zollmon!"
"Yeah, for you!!" Zollmon shouts out as he raises his hand forward, forming a large red energy sphere and emits an energy wave at Akira, inflicting a large amount of damage.
Akira dodges Zollmon's attack, punches him with his left fist, and then punches him away with his right fist, inflicting a high amount of damage. Akira follows up the combo as he charges at Zollmon, elbows him in the chin, and punches him in the stomach. He then hook kicks Zollmon and kicks him up into the air. Then, he flies up into the air and attacks Zollmon with a punch to the face, another punch to the gut, and a roundhouse kick to the jaw, knocking Zollmon further up into the air. Next, he flies up and appears above Zollmon to backhand punch him down to the ground, forcing Zollmon to land on his hands and knees to recover from the bone-crushing blows.
After teleporting behind the unsuspecting Zollmon, Akira calls out to them by saying; "Behind you", to get Zollmon to turn around before Akira says; "You're a coward and a fool". Then catching Zollmon with a backwards elbow strike to the face and launching him away with a powerful right hook.
Zollmon's body flies straight through a mountain.
Akira dashes after Zollmon, catches him, and delivers a strong headbutt to the face, knocking Zollmon up into the air. As he does this, Akira follows him and launches himself with a strong knee kick to the stomach.
After that, Akira teleports behind Zollmon and delivers a devastating right uppercut to the face, sending him flying straight up into the air. Zollmon stops himself in midair and right as he flies down towards Akira, Akira shouts out; "Solar Flare!!".
A white light fires out and blinds Zollmon. Right as Zollmon closes and rubs his eyes, he barely manages to dodge Akira's incoming attack as Akira's incoming attack only grazed Zollmon's cheek.
Zollmon snickers. "That was quite the stunt you just pulled... but it only blinded me for a moment! Let's say we turn up the heat shall we?!".
Zollmon fired off a Ki blast at Akira.
"This battle won't end in your favor!" Akira says as he fires off a ki blast of his own.
The two Ki blasts collided together and created a powerful explosion. The two warriors then dashed towards each other and locked on to each other in a test of strength before Zollmon headbutts Akira, lands a backhanded punch, and then Kicks him back as Akira slides back several inches. Akira dashes towards Zollmon and lands a thunderous elbow strike to Zollmon's right cheek. Right as Zollmon was pushed back by Akira's elbow strike, the two warriors dashed towards each other and began to exchange blows on even ground. The two warriors continued to exchange blows as the two began to fly up into the sky, continuing to exchange blows.
The two warriors continued to exchange blows as they fought all around the rocky landscape until Akira suddenly appeared above Zollmon and said; "You're strong but you can never overpower what I am and can still become!".
Zollmon turned around and shouted; "How dare you speak to me like that, Human scum! You'll pay for your insolence!!!".
As Zollmon fires off a large Ki blast at Akira, Akira shouts out; "You're a fool!".
Zollmon's large energy blast headed straight towards Akira and when the smoke cleared, it appeared that Akira was nowhere to be seen.
"Hmph, I thought I would have gotten him that time...".
"You really are a fool!" Akira tells him.
"What?!".
Akira then appears in front of Zollmon, slams his fist into his face, and punches him with his other hand, launching him a distance away.
"I cannot and will not lose to the likes of you!!" Zollmon shouts out as he immediately stands back up and powers up tremendously.
Zollmon continues to power up tremendously, shaking the entire landscape and unleashing a Purple Pillar of power that shoots straight up into the sky.
"This is bad! If He keeps getting stronger and stronger, He'll destroy the earth!" Akira says as he begins to power up his Ki and transforms into his Potential Unleashed State, a Super Saiyan form.
The two warriors dash towards each other and begin to engage in a battle that shakes the landscape. As the two warriors continue to fight each other one-on-one, Zollmon becomes more berserk and more demonic with each attack he throws and exchanges with Akira.
Finally, Zollmon knocks Akira back and laughs maniacally.
"Now, let us see who's truly the strongest, Human Scum!".
Akira gets back up and shouts out; "You're not winning, Zollmon!".
"Oh yeah, well how do you plan on doing that, huh?".
"I'll show you".
Zollmon's body begins to grow as his power grows even more.
"Now, you will be crushed by the weight of your own powerlessness, human! Prepare to be annihilated!!".
"You talk too much!".
The two warriors continue to fight one-on-one as their fight gets intense. The two fighters continue to exchange blows until Akira elbows Zollmon in the face, he then kicks Zollmon away and then shoots a Full Power Energy Wave at him, inflicting great damage.
"Argh, damn you, human! I won't allow this to end!".
"I am not done, yet!".
Zollmon fires an energy wave at Akira, which he easily deflects. Zollmon then snickers as he elbows Akira in his face. Then, he teleports behind Akira and knocks him up off the ground with a low roundhouse kick. Next, he catches Akira by his neck with his demonic tail and brings him closer to elbow him in the ribs. Finally, Zollmon says "I enjoyed that" as he tosses Akira away with his demonic tail, inflicting a great deal of damage.
"Is that the best you got, human? This is just pathetic!".
Akira slowly rises and charges toward Zollmon and elbows him in the face. Zollmon attempts to block the attack, but fails. Then, he elbows Zollmon in the chest. Finally, he does a flip kick on Zollmon, inflicting a high amount of damage.
"You're pretty fast, for a human. But, your skills are nothing compared to mine!".
Zollmon fires a huge purple ki blast at Akira, but he easily evades the attack and shoots a Full Power Energy Wave, causing a huge explosion and creating a dust cloud.
Akira then rolls in a rapid motion and lands a hard elbow on Zollmon's head. After taking the attack head-on, Zollmon snickers as he grabs Akira's fist and High Kicks Akira in his face before sending him flying several acres of the Rocky landscape with a powerful punch.
"Hmph, now let's see what you're really made of, human! This is where it ends for you!".
Zollmon then creates a gigantic Ki blast and throws it at Akira, hitting him. Akira takes it head-on and survives the attack, only to be badly injured and exhausted.
Akira breathes heavily. "D-Dammit, I don't have enough energy left to keep this form...".
"Well, look who's still alive... Too bad you won't be able to survive this next attack!".
In that last moment, Akira gets a flashback to where he was with his Love Interest, Amber.
Flashback
Akira and Amber were sitting together on the edge of a cliff as Amber rested her head on his shoulder.
"Hey, Aki..".
"Yeah, Amber?".
"There's something I want to talk about with you" she tells him.
"Sure, What's on your mind, Amber?" he asked.
"Aki... You're very important to me and I was wondering if you felt the same way?".
"Of course I do, Amber. Why do you ask?".
"It's just.. You always seem so distant and focused on your training. It's like you're not fully committed to me. I don't want to lose you, Aki.".
Akira looked over at Amber.
"I know but I am Amber. I mean, you do act like you were my older sister when other people are around us or when you get mad at me, and also, I need to get stronger!" Akira tells her.
"Why do you feel like you have to train all the time?".
"I just feel like there's something that is coming, and I'm going to have to prepare for it.".
"Aki... That doesn't sound like a good reason to push yourself so hard.".
"It doesn't matter what you say, Amber! I have to get stronger! It's the only way that I'll be able to protect you and everyone else on this planet!" Akira says before smiling. "I also still need to get to Ryuu's level and surpass him. It's all thanks to him we all push so hard, not just to have the power to protect our loved ones, but to become better than we were before...".
"I know, Aki... but don't forget that you have friends who are willing to help you whenever you need them." Amber says before looking down with a sad expression.
"What's wrong, Amber?" Akira asks her.
"I have a confession to make...".
"What is it?".
"Aki... I have always loved you and I always will..." Amber says as she puts her left hand on his right cheek and stares in his eyes affectionately. "Akira, listen to me. I know you have the potential to become the most powerful being on Earth, even stronger than Ryuu, Blaze, Tsukiya, and even Ryo. You need to believe in yourself and unleash that power when the time is right. When it's time - draw out all of your strength and use it to protect your world and everyone in it! But promise me, you won't overdo it and do anything stupid... Don't ever change, Aki... I love you!".
Akira smiles when he hears her confession. "Amber...".
Flashback Over-
Akira remembers Ambers words and the promise he made with her before he snapped, unleashing a massive and powerful Pillar of bluish-white light, pulsing crimson and azure bolts of bioelectricity as Akira transforms into a new form with red irises and long white spiky hair. Akira has successfully transformed into his "Beast" Form, making him "Beast Akira".
"No! This cannot be! A human cannot possess this kind of power! There is no way!" Zollmon shouts out.
"This isn't a transformation! It's a promise I made, with someone very important to me and a part of who I am! This is my Beast Transformation!" Akira shouts out.
"Shut up!!" Zollmon shouts as he rushes towards Akira and strikes Akira in the stomach, failing to so much as even budge him.
"Is that all you've got? Okay then, guess it's my turn." Akira says after he got hit by Zollmon's attack.
Declaring his intent to attack, Beast Akira strikes Zollmon with a sudden kick to the abdomen in a flash of lightning, roaring as he puts more power into the attack and sends Zollmon flying.
"Arghh!!" Zollmon screams out as he is sent flying several meters back.
Right as Zollmon stands back up, Zollmon unleashes his full power and begins to concentrate it into a single point. Zollmon has created a moon sized purple energy blast which is condensed into one of comparable size to him. Zollmon's Darkness Quasar has the same gravitational pull as a black hole.
"Now, you will fall under the power of the Demon Lord's mightiest technique, Darkness Quasar! Now, suffer and Die, human!!".
"Is that the best you can do, Zollmon?! You have lost!".
"We'll see about that, Human!".
As crimson lightning strikes around him, Akira smirks and begins gathering streaks of bluish-white light, pulsing crimson and azure bolts of ki before holding his index and middle fingers to his forehead.
Zollmon tosses his energy ball at Akira as Akira brings his charging arm forward (holding it with his other arm to support it) to fire a brilliant white Special Beam Cannon as he shouts out; "Beast Special Beam Cannon!!".
Akira unleashes his Special Beam Cannon who in response hurls his own devastating attack, causing the two energy attacks to collide. Akira's Beast Special Beam Cannon runs through both Zollmon's attack and his head.
"I can't be defeated, not by a human! I am invincible!! How can this be possible?!".
"Your time is up, Zollmon!!".
Akira's Special Beam Cannon finally breaks through the rest of Zollmon's Darkness Quasar, completely obliterating the demon.
"NOOOOO!!!! THIS CAN'T BE!! HOW DID HE POSSESS SUCH POWER?! I AM INVINCIBLE!!".
"This battle is over. Your time is up!".
Akira releases all the built-up Ki he has used for his Special Beam Cannon, and it causes a bright light that blinds Zollmon. Once the smoke and blinding light has cleared, it appears Akira has defeated Zollmon.
Akira powers down to his base form and smiles softly.
"I won… I won!!" Akira says before he falls on his back, panting heavily from exhaustion.
After defeating Zollmon, Akira is now in his base form and is exhausted from his previous fight with Zollmon.
"I... did it.." Akira says with a weak tone. "I'm just gonna rest for a bit before going back to Conton City…".
Akira then fell asleep and began to snore.
