David and Mayumi, with Kaede tagging along, along with Mahiru, Sally, Maple, Miu, Twilight, Fluttershy, and Bernadetta head over to the Central Plaza, where they are met by a woman by the name of Synclaire.

"This…is what you wanted to show us?" Mayumi asked, looking at the machine.

"What does this do, anyway?" David asked.

"It's a machine that allows you to mentally sync with your Pokémon and have them move anyway you see fit." they said.

"Sounds pretty cool. I can see this adding new layers to how Trainers interact with their Pokemon." David said.

"Uh…I'm not so sure about this. Is this safe?" Bernadetta asked.

"Yeah…it doesn't sound that excit…and he's already doing it." Mayumi said seeing David already using the machine with Froslass.

"Well? How does it feel?" Miu asked.

David was unresponsive as Froslass moved.

"Guess he needs full concentration." Mayumi said. "Guess we'll leave him to his fun then." she said as they headed into the Coastal Biome.

"So, why the Coastal Biome?" Kaede asked.

"Cause it's nice and tropical. Figured we girls could chill here." Mayumi said.

"That doesn't sound bad. Oh…let me get a few shots of us here." Mahiru said as they posed. "Hmm…let's try a different filter. Ah…Sepiatone." she said changing the filter. As soon as she did, a faint song could be heard echoing on the winds.

"Wh-What is that?" Bernadetta asked nervously, looking around.

"I know this song. The Relic Song. It's an old one." Kaede said.

The girls followed the song to its source. To their amazement, they saw a small fairy like Pokémon floating in the air and singing.

"What…what is that?" Fluttershy said.

"Not sure…let's look it up." Twilight said.

"Bzzt! Meloetta, the Melody Pokémon! A Normal and Psychic Type! The melodies sung by Meloetta have the power to make Pokémon that hear them happy or sad." Rotomphone said.

"O-Oh…so it's not a ghost." Bernadetta said in relief.

"I see…the calm and tropical environment of this biome must give it a sense of calm. Enough for it to sing to its hearts content." Twilight said.

"It's so beautiful." Kaede said. "And its voice…okay. I'm sold. I'm going to catch it."

"Whoa, that was fast. What brought this on, Kaede?" Miu asked.

"I'm a pianist. And Meloetta is a singer. It's not rocket science." Kaede said.

"Good point. Go for it, Kaede!" Miu said.

Kaede smiled as she sent out Chatot. "Chatter! Let's go!" she said as Chatot started hitting Meloetta with noise, forcing the Pokémon to turn around.

Meloetta quickly recovered as it started to sing as its song's soundwaves went and hit Chatot before it fell asleep.

"Chatot! I see…so Relic Song isn't just a melody…it's your signature move." Kaede said before Meloetta started to glow before its green hair turned orange and curled upwards like a beehive.

"Whoa…it changed form." Twilight said. "Looks like this one is more of a dancer than a singer."

Meloetta then let out a strong Hyper Voice as Chatot was hit with heavy damage before waking up.

"A-Ah! It hits really hard when it's like that!" Bernadetta observed.

However, Kaede was undeterred as she and Chatot continued to battle against Meloetta until weakening it enough to throw the ball and make the catch.

"Yes! I got it!" Kaede said.

The girls applauded her on her success as they headed back to the Central Plaza.

"We're back!" Mayumi called out. "All finished up on your end?"

"Yep. It's got a few things that needs to get worked on, but otherwise… I can kind of see the potential in this." David said.

"Yes, this is only a prototype, so don't be surprised if the result turned out…unsatisfying." Synclaire said.

"Then how about you give that prototype to me?" said Einstein as she approached the group. "I'll make sure to finish it."

"You're sure?" Synclaire asked.

"You're looking at one of the greatest geniuses who made e=mc2. Of course I'm sure." Einstein assured. "Hello again, David Ishihara."

"Ah, hey Einstein. Yeah, I was just testing out the prototype of the new Synchro Machine, as you can see." David said.

"I can see that. It seems pretty interesting, too." Einstein replied. "But I can see there's room for improvement." She offered a hand. "Now then, the prototype please?"

"Well… if what you say is true, then here. It's yours." Synclaire replied back, giving the prototype Synchro Machine to Einstein.

"Thank you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll head back to the Zi-O Liner and get started. Have fun." Einstein said before leaving with the prototype.

"Well…there she goes." David said. "So what did you girls get up to?"

"Take a look." Kaede said as she sent out Meloetta.

"Holy crap, I've never seen this Pokémon before! She looks really cute." David said.

"Meet the Melody Pokémon, Meloetta." Twilight said.

"Meloetta, huh? Yeah, she's definitely a good fit for you, Kaede." David said. "She didn't give you too much trouble catching her, did she?"

"Oh, not too much trouble. In fact, it was quite an experience. Meloetta, would you?" Kaede asked as Meloetta started to sing the Relic Song once more. It's voice echoing out across the Terarium.

"Oh wow, her singing voice sounds so soothing." David said. "I thought Milotic and Primarina had good singing voices, but… I think Meloetta here might just trump both of them."

"Yes…I think I agree with you." a voice said as a man approached. "Such a talented voice."

"Uh…yeah. Who are you?" Sally asked.

"Apologies. My name is Zenkichi Hasegawa. I'm working with the Universal Police. Now…which one of you is David Ishihara." he said.

"That would be me." David said with a raised hand.

"Oh…thanks." Zenkichi said. "That just saved me a lot of time."

"Uh…time for what?" David said before seeing handcuffs on his arms.

"You're under arrest." Zenkichi said.

"Hey, what's going on?! I didn't do anything!" David said.

"Tell that to the People of Ku after what you did to them." Zenkichi said.

"Ku? What are you talking about?" Mayumi asked.

"Seems someone isn't keeping up with the news." Zenkichi said, getting his phone out and showing a picture of the citizens of Ku with purple eyes as they danced a sort of weird chicken dance.

"What in the world? Are they…doing a chicken dance?" Sally asked.

"Okay, I admit that's weird. But why is David singled out?" Mayumi asked.

"Cause this picture was also found." Zenkichi said, showing a photo of David commanding the citizens on a raid.

"That's not me. Someone is framing me." David said.

"That's what your buddies said when I busted them. Jexi and Hope, right?" Zenkichi said.

"Jexi and Hope too?" Twilight said.

"Yeah. For doing the same stunt in Shanghai and the Kingdom of Raja respectively." Zenkichi said.

"But that isn't….Shanghai…Raja…Ku…are places like Hyrule and Elyos on that list?" Twilight asked.

"Well no Elyos but definitely Hyrule. I was going to find the culprit for that which was…" Zenkichi said.

"Ace Neptune right?" Twilight said.

"Y..yeah. How did you…" Zenkichi said.

"Sir…could you wait a little bit before booking all our leaders?" Twilight said.

"Okay…but don't take too long. I'd like to wrap this case up as soon as possible." Zenkichi said as the girls departed.

"All the places he listed…they're the exact places where we found the Emblem Bracelets." Twilight said. "And the leaders being the culprits…it's clear someone is working to try and frame them for this crime."

"So what do we do?" Maple asked.

"Catch the real culprit. Knowing them, they'll probably hit Kitakami before going to Elyos." Twilight said. "Luckily…we still have people who aren't arrested." she said getting her phone.

"What?! David's been arrested!" Himiko said as the Paldean group just arrived in Kitakami.

"Whatever's going on, we'll help." Simon said.

"Given their MO, they'll be disguised as one of the leaders. So either Connor, Cheetah, Theo, Ethox, Dark Water, or Zeo." Twilight said.

"Wait, what about me?" Mark asked.

"They'll likely already used your face in Las Vegas." Twilight said.

"Oh." Mark said. "...God, something tells me that I'm not gonna like this…" he said.

"None of us will, but humanity doesn't get anywhere by staying in their comfort zone. Sometimes, we have to do the things that nobody wants to do." Shun'ei said.

"You know, Kitakami has been weird lately." Aria said, noticing the people doing the same stunt that was mentioned.

"What the Hell is that?" Simon asked.

"I think it's a chicken dance. Huh?" Himiko noticed a strange shape floating up high as it shot out a purple colored mochi into the unaffected.

"...Oh, you've gotta be kidding me." Mark groaned.

"Mark? What's wrong?"

"I think we just found evil Momotaro." Mark said.

"Momo…yeah…its color…it's the same as the chains on the Loyal Three." Himiko said.

"Meaning… He's probably the one that created them." Shun'ei said.

"Let's see what we're dealing with." Aria said, looking it up.

"Pecharunt, the Subjugation Pokémon! A Poison and Ghost Type! It feeds others toxic mochi that draw out desires and capabilities. Those who eat the mochi fall under Pecharunt's control, chained to its will." it said.

"That's it…keep it up!" a voice said as they saw Connor standing there.

"Connor? No…he and his team went to Mesagoza." Himiko said.

"Guess we found our imposter." Shun'ei said.

"Huh? Ah crap!" the fake Connor said. "Get 'em!" he said as the mind controlled citizens marched.

"Okay…you wanna play?" Aria asked as she sent out Espeon and Umbreon and knocked the citizens aside.

"What the…wait…I know you. You're that girl who blew up the Snagem Base in Eclo Canyon." he said.

"Seeing as you know that…you're no ordinary imposter." Aria said. "You're from Orre, aren't you?"

"Heh…yeah…got that right. Pecharunt, deal with her posse. I got the girl!" he said as he sent out a Togetic.

"Ah!" Aria said as her radar went off. "A Shadow Pokémon. Yeah…I got this guy."

"Okay…" Himiko said as the remaining trainers glared at Pecharunt.

Pecharunt opened its container as it let out an angry cry.

"Don't you start. You started this whole mess." Shun'ei said.

"We're so gonna enjoy peeling you down to your pit." Simon said. "Get 'em!"

"Poison type, huh…got it. Asura!" Mark said, sending out his Perfect Link.

"Peechaa…ruuuunt!" Pecharunt bellowed in rage, shooting out Malignant Chains towards the Breloom.

"(Come…on?)" Asura said in confusion, letting the chains strike him. To the opponent's shock, however, the poison in the chains seemingly had no effect, the Breloom charging ahead.

"Poison Heal." Mark smirked.

Pecharunt looked rather pissed before seeing Meowscarada above before it was hit with a Shadow Claw while distracted.

"(You…I can't hurt you. Can't beat you alone.)" Asura remarked to Pecharunt, before grabbing it and holding it in place. "(But I am not alone! Keep going!)"

Meowscarada licked its face before battering the Poison/Ghost type with another round of Shadow Claws.

"(You look rather stressed. Come, take a load off!)" Quaquaval said as he belted Pecharunt with an Aqua Step.

Sigil dashed in and slashed at it with Night Slash.

Pecharunt looked more and more weak with each hit it took from the trainers.

"I think it's weak enough for a catch." Himiko said.

Pecharunt looked panicked at the word 'catch', looking to where the Orre resident was, who was currently having his Shadow Pokémon curb stomped by Aria.

"And now…" Aria said, tossing a snag ball, snatching away Togetic and capturing it. "Now for him!" Aria said as Espeon and Umbreon pinned the guy down.

Pecharunt looked even more panicked as it tried to escape.

"(There will be no escape for you!)" Asura yelled. "(Your evil ends here!)"

Pecharunt looked frantic as Himiko pulled out a Pokéball and prepared to throw it, until…

"(NOOOOO!)" The Pokémon yelled as it expelled a powerful burst of power sending all the Pokémon around it back, before it flew up into the air, looking at its opponents in hatred. "(...another time.)" it said before it quickly flew away.

"(Damn it!)" Asura said. "(The coward got away!)"

"(It's fine. Look.)" Meowscarada said, pointing to the people as they regained their sense of self. "(It was so scared and frightened, it lost all the control it built up.)"

"And at least we've got that guy to clear things up." Mark said, pointing to the Orre trainer, who squirmed rather pathetically under the two Eeveelutions.

"Uh…little help?" he asked before Aria pulled at his face, revealing it as a mask that hid a man wearing a helmet.

"You're…with Cipher." Aria said.

"Was. I was let go after the reorganization of the group. Name's Fein. Now please let me go. I'm just an actor. I was hired to do this." he said.

"Hired?" Mark asked. "By who?"

"Uh…." Fein said in fear as the group surrounded him.

2 days later….the Universal Prison, a certain figure was waiting at the phones.

"Hmm…" Theodore pondered before hearing a dialtone. "Ah. Fein. I was wondering when…." he said before seeing the now freed leaders as well as a few others. "Oh…it's…you guys." he said nervously. "So nice to see you…and not in jail. Not that you would end up in jail."

"Can it, Theodore. Fein told us everything." Hope said.

"After you got your pardon, we were gonna take the rap for a crime you planned out after imprisonment. With all us leaders taking the rap while you use Pecharunt to take over our groups." Jexi said.

At this, Theodore looked genuinely confused. "What's a Pecharunt?"

"The Pokémon you used to make everyone crazy, while your actor acted like we were controlling it!" Mark said.

"I didn't have a Pokémon." Theodore said. "I mean, okay, I did hire actors, but they were just gonna blow stuff up, force people to bow.

"It's true. He didn't know I had that Pecharunt." said a severely beaten up Fein.

"Okay, so you didn't use Pecharunt to cause the chaos. But… that doesn't excuse the fact that even after we pardoned you from your sentence, you tried to get back at us by framing us for acts of terrorism." Connor said.

"One! You have yet to pardon me! I'm still in this cell. And 2! I shouldn't even be here. And it's all his fault!" Theodore said, pointing to Jexi. "I refuse to believe I could lose to someone like him! Of course I would take my rage out on all of you!"

"Geez, you're this pissed cause I humiliated you and forced you to confess?" Jexi said.

"I expected better from you, Theodore… You disappoint me…" David said with a mix of sadness and anger.

"Grrr." Theodore said, attempting to charge only for the guards to grab him.

"Consider our deal…off." Jexi said.

"Wh-no! You promised! I give you the information on the Emblem Bracelets, and I'm a free man!" Theodore said.

"Then where was YOUR end of the deal, huh?!" David asked in a raised voice, causing Theodore to back up a bit. "Promises are meant to be kept, yes. But they are sacred bonds between men. You yourself proved that you are not a man. You gave up your own humanity a long time ago and built yourself up into the biggest monster of them all."

"If that was the case, why didn't you just kill me and finish the job yourself?" Theodore asked.

"You're right, I could've. But seeing as you are now… You're not even worth it." David said with a cold glare. "As your nemesis, I am genuinely disappointed in you. I expected some semblance of humanity in you, but no. You have proven time and time again that you are just a monster in human flesh. Perhaps maybe… You should have STAYED dead after what happened at the tower."

"You gave us that info to bait us into your scheme." Theo said.

"You ended up screwing yourself over in the end." Ace said.

"Bye, Theodore. May we never meet again." Jexi said as the group departed the prison as Theodore still cursed their names.

"We should head back. We still have a few days left till the expedition." Hope said.

"Yeah. Though it shows that Cipher is still active. My battle isn't over yet." Aria said.

"Yeah…but I wonder what ever happened to Pecharunt." Himiko said.

"Who knows, we might end up seeing it again in the future." Simon said.

"I don't think it'll be a problem for now." Mark said. "Let's just focus on prep for what's next." he added, before speaking to Asura telepathically. "(Hey, you sounded a little confused for a bit during that fight. What's up?)"

"(The aura around that Pokémon…)" Asura replied. "(It felt…familiar.)"

"(Huh…well, we can figure it out later.)" Mark said. "(It lost pretty easily, so it can't be that dangerous.)"

Meanwhile, in Orre…

Pecharunt flew into a base on an island, looking angry as it saw a trio of men present, all obscured by shadow.

"Ah…I've received word that your mind-controlled victims were freed. It seems you failed." the first man, floating in a chair said.

"Peecha-runnt!" Pecharunt growled.

"This isn't good." the second man, just as small as the first man yet more fat, said. "Now they know Cipher is-"

"He won't talk…he knows better." the third man, taller then the other two, while supporting himself with a cane said. "With that said…Pecharunt, you will remain here, until your technique is perfected to our ultimate goal."

The Pokémon replied in a resigned, yet accepting tone.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" the second man said. "Just one of them was able to topple both our teams before. If all of them get involved…"

"By the time they get involved, it will be too late." the third said. "The preparations are almost complete. Soon…the new Cipher will rule over this world, and all Pokémon. But first…I must head back home." he said, turning around.

"What? What are you going to do?" the second man said.

"It's fine. He has his own objective, just like the rest of them and just like us." the first man said. "We've been hiding in the shadows for what seems like 5 years now. But soon…the time will come for Cipher to rise again, not just in Orre but all over the world. So, until the day comes, I wish you great luck on your endeavor…Ghetsis."

Lightning struck, showing the head of Team Plasma in all his wickedness.

"You will not be disappointed…Grandmaster." Ghetsis said.
