CH 19
"Colonel what is that all about?" Sam was trying to hold a state face
"Two things sir, one to make Sam smile like she is now and second every time Jones has onions it gives him gas" he said smiling while warping his arm around Sam shoulder
"Surely it cant be that bad?"
"Well sir, trust me it bad, remember last year why no one wanted to use elevator three hours"
"Yes"
"Now you know the answer" Hammond chuckled and shaking his head.
"Well sir at lest it is a going away present" sam said
"Alright you two, SG1 is on down time till I can get every thing sorted out and before I forget" he pass them envelopes, they open it and see there new driver licence and ID badges.
"Thank you sir" sam said smiling
"Every one else got there today also"
"Thanks, so sam feel like going shopping and get out of this place for couple of hours?"
"Sure but first we need to change"
"Ok" they walk out of the room where other personals were waiting for them, clapping soon as they walk through the door.
"All right guys back to work" jack yelled out and every one return back to work with smiles on their faces.
Jack and Sam return to their quarters and got change before leaving to go into town. They went to check Sam home out first. She paid her bills, check her messages and mail, then they went around to Jack place so he could check on things him self and he also called for pizza for lunch since there was nothing in the house to eat since they been away for over two months.
While Jack was check his mail there was a small parcel, so he open it up while Sam was siting on the couch with her feet up drinking glass of chocolate milk and he was in the dinning room checking his mail. When he opened it and moved the bits of polo Stirling out of the way there was a black box so he pulled it out and opened it. He smiled when he saw the ring. It was round diamond with three smaller diamonds on each side in channel setting set in 18ct yellow gold band.
He was lost in through when the door bell rang so he close the box and put it on the table then he went to answer the door, it was the pizza delivery guy. Once paid for he walk into the living room and sat down next to sam, she was watching a movie.
"Mmm I'm so hungry"
"I bet you are, here you go, enjoy" he passed her a napkin so she can get it sorted out while Jack got her a slice of pizza and passed it to her. She bit into it and let out a moan
"Good" he was watching her
"Hell yeah better than the food in the mess hall" he laugh as he pick up a slice and bit into it
"This is so good" sam said
"I bet it is" he watch her eat it till it was all gone. Sam notice he was watching her so she look at him
"What?" he put his slice down and held on to sam hands while looking into her eyes "jack what wrong?"
"I've been dong a lot of thinking Sam" she raised an eye brow and waited for him to continue
"Sam you know that both you and the boys mean the world to me right"
"Yes"
"Sam what I'm trying to say is" he let go of her hands and wipe his hands on the napkin as he stood up and went into the dinning area and pick up the box and return, then sat down and he held on to her left hand.
"Sam you know I'm a man of few words, well will you marry me" he opened the box and show her the ring. She look at the ring and then at Jack and smile
"Yes I will marry you Jack" He got the ring out and was just about to slip it on to her finger
"Hold it let me wipe my hand first" she moved her hand from his so she could wipe it on the napkin then he held on to it once again then he slip the ring onto her finger then lean forward and gives her a kiss which became passionate.
"I love you," he said
"I love you to Jack" she said still smiling then he gives her a kiss. They heard cars pull up and car doors closing, they look at each other
"I wounder who it is?" jack asked as he got up and walk over to the window and then he open the door
"Hi guys what's up?"
"Hi Jack we hope you didn't mind we all through of a celebration luncheon, we brought allsorts of take away food and drinks with us"
"Well"
"What food" Sam yelled out
"Chicken, pizza, Chinese, ice cream, drinks" Daniel called out Jack turn around to see Sam licking her lips, then turn to the others
"Ok guys come on in"
Jack step back to let Janet, Daniel and their kids, Cassie, Kate, Major Greg Johnson and their daughter, Claire and Captain Steve Thomas and their son walk in and sat down where ever. Jack got some more chairs out as the women sat down on the couch where it was more comfortable for them while the men sorted out the food. Daniel put the cake and ice cream away till afterwards. They all sat some where talk while eating lunch. Then they were there for five minutes when a car pulled up
"Gee neighbours would think I'm having a party here," Jack said as he got up from the floor to see who it is, when he opened the door
"Teal'c just in time for some lunch, is that pizza and donuts?"
"Indeed"
"Well come and join every one." Then a SUV pulled up Jack smile when he saw whom it was.
"Here let me take care of these while you give them a hand"
Teal'c pass four pizzas and bag to Jack then went down to give Jacob a hand with the kids. Jack walked in side and put the pizza down
"I'll be right back" then he walk back out side and down the steps
"Dad, kids"
"Daddy" they all said and ran up to him, he crouches down and gave them all a hug
"We miss you"
"We miss you to, now go up to the house mummy is in there and she needs cheering up" they all smile and ran over to the step and climb them and ran in to the house. Jack stood up and gave Jacob and Teal'c a hand with the car seats and lunch before the airmen return back to base.
"George sent message through about the good news"
"Yeah Sam is please it is all over, come on there is heaps of food and company"
"Ok the boys are hungry" jack laugh
"I bet" they walk back into the house. Sam and the others were talking when the head foot steps and they turn to see who it was, Sam was shock when she saw her boys, when they saw her
"Mummy" they all ran over to her and got up on the couch to give her a hug and kiss.
"We miss you mummy"
"We miss you to, did grand dad bring you kids here"
"Yep this is different" they look around the room
"Yes it is, hungry" they all nodded
"Ok sit on the floor"
"I'll take care of it Sam"
"Thanks Daniel" He got a knife and cut up the pizza and pass it to them for them to try, every one watch them as they took a bit
"Good" jack asked when he saw them try it for the first time, they all nodded then he and Jacob disappear down to the guestroom to put them away. When they were done
"Jacob"
"Yes jack" when he notice Jack called him by his first name
"I ask Sam to marry me and she said yes, so with your blessing" Jacob smile
"Jack yes you can marry her"
"Thanks, we haven't told every one about it yet"
"Well I know you can make her and the boys happy"
"I know shell were before all the food is gone"
"Sure" they headed back to where the other were Jacob gave Sam a hug and kiss on for head before sitting down on the floor and picking up slice of pizza. They all talk and laugh while enjoying their lunch. When all the food was gone. Jack and Daniel started clearing away the boxes and cartons.
"We got announcement to make" Greg said to the group, they all look at him and Kate
"I've ask Kate to marry me, she said yes" every one congratulated them, she show them round diamond solitaire engagement ring set in 18ct white gold. Every one is happy for them
"Claire and I are also getting married" Steve said smiling they congratulated them. Her got her round ruby with round diamond on each side set is 18ct yellow gold. Jack look at Sam and she gave him the nod.
"Well you guys aren't they only ones getting married" they all look at them and smiled, then congratulated them they all look at Sam engagement ring. They all talk and Jack look over at Daniel and Janet
"What about you two" Daniel look at Jack and look around at every one
"I haven't ask Janet" then he look down at his hands
"Yet" sam said
"Why not Daniel, we all know that you love each other" he turned and looked at Janet who was looking at him. Every one waited.
"Janet I know that you love me but if I marry you, you would be replacing Shar'ra" Janet held on to his hand
"Daniel I know Shar'ra will hold a special place in your heart. After I left my husband, I told my self I would not got through all of that again, and I haven't till I meet you and you have come in to my life and my heart. And after been on the planet for six years, we both have change not just on the out side but on the inside as well. We both got three wonderful children and another one on the way, if all of this isn't love, then what is. We both been given a second change of happiness"
"Yeah your right Janet, so would you like to marry me" Janet smile
"Yes Daniel I would" he got up and bend over and gave her a kiss Every one congratulated them.
"I'll be right back" he ran out the door, every one look at each other. They heard his car start up and drive away.
"Why did he do that for?" jack ask Every one shook there head and look puzzled
"I think he gone to get Janet a ring," Sam said
"Could be"
"Hey I just had a crazy idea," Cassie said smiling
"What that Cassie?" Janet asked
"Well why not have a huge wedding, I mean the four eight of you get married on the same day, it will save a lots of money" they all through about it
"Well not a bad idea" jack said
"Ah hate to put a damper on every thing guys"
"Sam what is it?" Jacob asked
"Our families, I mean how are we tell them about us, after all look at us, look at how much we all have change, what are we going to tell Mark dad"
"She got a point," Janet said
"I know, I'll have to talk to George about this when I return back to the base, what about you guys?"
"Well I haven't seen my family in five years, so they wouldn't notice it much" Claire said
"Same here" Steve said
"We the same, since moving here six years ago, I've only seen my family twice" Greg said
"Ok, we will sort some thing out, so for the mean time let us all enjoy this day, ok?" they all agree.
They all talk for half an hour when they notice their kids were asleep so the men took them down to the bedrooms and put them all in to the beds. Jack and Jacob took their boys into Jack room while the others put their kids into other two rooms in the house before returning back to the living room. Teal'c and Jacob went out to get some snacks and more drinks for every one while the others talk out side since it was a warm summer day. Twenty minutes later Daniel arrived back and he could hear them around the back so he walk around to see them all. He saw Janet talking to the other three women on the back patio while the men were in Jack garage.
"Hey, I'm back" he walk up to Janet and gave her a kiss
"Hey, where did you go?"
"Home to get this" he open an old box.
In side was an ancient .09 carat transition cut, G-H colour; SI1 clarity diamond really sparkles in the beautifully crafted illusion setting. The setting is in 14k white gold with a 14k yellow gold shank. He got it out of the box and pick up her left hand and slip it on to her finger.
"Wow, Daniel I love it" she look at it then show it to the others there.
"Daniel where did you get this ring from?" Sam asked
"I use to belong to my grandmother, nick late wife, it was past down to my mother when she pass way when I was a baby, then my parent were killed, it went to me"
"Oh Daniel, I'm sorry, I didn't know" Janet said
"Well now you know, so what are the guys up to and where are the kids?"
"Kids are having a sleep and they guys are getting the gazebo out and putting it up"
"Ah ok, I'll go and let them know that I'm back" He gives Janet a kiss before heading towards the garage.
Ten minutes later the guys were out of the garage and the gazebo was up and the lawn chairs and tables were out. Once they were clean up, Jacob and Jack went into town for some more snacks, steak and salads for the barbecue while they others sat around and talk for a while. When they return the guys help them with every thing before joining their fiancees out side. Half an hour later their kids slowly walk out side one by one after their nap.
Once there diapers where check and change they all sat down on their father lap while munching on some chips. Hour later the other guys from there teams showed up with meet, salads, drinks and family in tow. Every one enjoyed them selves; laughing and joking while their kids were playing in corner of the yard. When it was time Jack fired up his grill and started cooking, the guys were giving him a hard time about burning the steaks.
Half an hour later every one was sitting down to dinner and enjoying them selves. Every one left later that evening for their homes since the kids were almost asleep and it was their bedtime any way. Once jack and sam kids were in bed and sleeping, they both sat down and watch some TV for an hour before going to bed them selves. The next day every one on the base heard the good news on the four engagements and is happy with the news.
Over the next two months all four SG teams return to active duty. Sam work on the base few hours a day while their boys were at day care. When SG1 was off world for over night mission Sam and the boys stayed on the base. One thing Sam noticing Jack and the other men was doing was going in to town at lest once a week for couple of hours but he always brought some thing back, so one day she decided to ask him.
"Jack can I ask you some thing?" she was lying on their bed in the VIP room
"Sure you know you can ask me any thing" he got his head on her stomach listing to their kids move around.
"What are you and the guys up to"
"What do you mean?"
"Jack, you, Daniel, Greg and Steve have been going into town at lest once a week for couple of hours then come back with food, drinks, clothing. We pregnant women aren't dumb, so are you going to tell me?"
"You will find out in due time Sam"
"Jack"
"Yes sam" he said smiling
"Your not going to tell me are you?"
"Nope"
"I spoke to General Hammond today"
"And?"
"We got the ok to let Mark know what going on so long as he sign the papers"
"Hey that great"
"I know, I've already called him, he and the family coming tomorrow"
"What" his eyes widen in shock
"You heard me tomorrow"
"Tomorrow"
"Yes Jack tomorrow. Airmen is bring them here"
"Ok and us?"
"We just wait for Hammond to call us"
"Ok, so how do you think it will go?"
"I don't know"
"Don't worry every thing is going to be ok"
"I know" he moved from where he was so he could give her a kiss
"No mater what happens I'll be here for you"
"I know you will Jack" then they both kiss once again
