Sally, Michael, Carlton, Jerold and Ernie are sitting at a cafeteria table. They are all eating lunch.
Arthur walks up to the table, a lunch tray in his hands.
Arthur holds his stomach and whispers. Hey guys, how's it going?
Sally. Hey Arthur. Are you okay?
Arthur whispering hoarsely again. My stomach hurts.
Arthur sits down at the table. takes a bite of his lunch. He chews it for a while and visibly has trouble swallowing it. Then he grimaces and holds his stomach again.
Ernie. Are you alright, Arthur?
Arthur To Ernie, Whispering. I don´t think so, my stomach hurts even more, even after eating.
Sally (To Arthur) Does it taste bad or something?
Arthur To Sally, Whispering Hoarsely) No, but my stomach felt like it bursts.
Carlton points to an item on Arthur's lunch tray. Does that mean that you're not going to eat that?
Arthur motions above the tray. Whispering Hoarsely) Go for it.
Carlton begins to eat Arthur's lunch.
Jerold chimes in with some advice. Arthur, I think that you should see a doctor right away, I think you may have some gastrointestinal infection.
Ernie. Ouch.
Jerold. Yes, and it causes trouble while eating.
Arthur (To Jerold, Whispering I'm fine, Jerold. really.
Sally frowns. You should talk with the school nurse or Ms. Riley and Ms. Judy.
Arthur nodes without a word. His stomach. hurts too much.
At the school´s nurse office... Nurse Tanya hands Arthur a goodie. Here my dear, this will help. And i already made a call to your parents that i let you go home today. You need a rest.
Arthur nodes.
Twenty minutes later David arrives at the school and picks Arthur up. He looks at Arthur while they drive . Arthur, should we go to the doctor?
Arthur shook his head and coughs. No, dad. I think i only need a rest. I have a goddie from the nurse.
David noded. Okay, we head home and you go up to your room and lay down. Then we see if you are fine tomorrow.
Back home David looks enters the hallway. We're back!
Chessy, the new babysitter, came out of the kitchen. The red fox-girl wears her usual green hoodie with the punkband " The Drip's", her blue jeans and the neon yellow sneakers. Her hair was hold by a neon green hairband, but some strands with purple and pink stripes hanging around her face. Chessy Gardner was the babysitter for Kate when Jane was working in the office. She was a 20 years old student at the College in Lakewood, lives with her grandma since her parents got divorced and some trouble has come up.
She wears her headphones as usual, now she put em out of her ears. What happened? You were gone half an hour.
Jane hands her over Kate who reaches her arms for the babysitter. Chessy laughs. Hey, Little Giggle! Miss me, huh?
David noded. I know Chessy. I was on Break when the School Nurse call me. Jane left her phone in her office you can head home. I will stay with the Kids but can you come tomorrow a bit earlier to help?
Chessy smiles while she hands Kate over back to Jane. Sure, I can Mr Read, tomorrow i can be here around 1 pm instead of 3 pm. See you soon. Hope you get better soon Arthur.
She waves and left out of the front door.

As D.W. walk into Michael´s room, he stood in front of the mirror, sweating, pale-faced, and with shaky legs, pinching with his hands onto the desk. The young girl gives her eldest brother a concerned look. " 'Michael, you´re looking sick! What is it?"
Michael waves the words away. " It´s, it´s nothing, D.W.! I need a rest, that´s all! Okay?
D.W. frowns. Are you sure, Michael? I think we should talk to Dad and Mom.
D.W. it's nothing alright! Michael responds. Come on lets just get to breakfast.
Arthur came down the stairs as he see Meredith still talking on her phone. David stood beside, waiting.
Arthur (in a sick voice). Dad, I don't feel well. (coughs) I don't think I can go to school.
David frowns and puts his hand on Arthur´s forehead. Hmm, you're not that hot.
Arthur noded and whispers: Yeah, but my stomach is killing me. I can barely walk. Can i have some soup for breakfast, im still hungry, but nothing hard.
David shook his head: Well I can't do it now, but I'll make a big pot of it as soon as I get home. And i think it´s more need than soup.
Arthur gulps. Dad, you always get home late we never see you anymore except in the Morning nothing is the same anymore you and Mom both work full time now. He coughs. okay, with Chessy it´s nice. She is Fun and everything. and Yestday it felt almost normal like noting charger.
Meredith looks over while she was holding her phone. David, please. You still have to make up the Hours you miss when you left so early yesterday.
David noded. Right Meredith right. But i must look for my son.
Meredith shrugs. The white wombat-woman was 26, she wears a black top and a ( in Jane´s eyes too short) white skirt with black flats. Her hair was curled. Meredith Blake was David´s new assistant, Fred send her to help David with orders, supply lists and bills. She was effective, but in Jane eyes too overbearing about her importance and how pretty she was.
Meredith smiles. Tomorrow im back around 8 am, David. Then we go on for that bills alright?

Arthur grabs his stomach. That pain...kills me.

Jane noded. David, you have to be a lot faster with the Kids, so be one top a head of them always. A mother´s work is never done.
Michael came into the kitchen. What is going on Mom? Arthur, you look sick!
Jane looks up. We need to go to the doctor with Arthur, Michael you are with me while Dad takes D.W. to school.
D.W. points up. Mom, Michael have the same Pain as Arthur but he Isn't tell you two anything.
Michael pretends to laugh. Ha ha good one D.W., good one. I m fine nothing to worry about, really.
At the doctor´s offices
Dr. Elizabeth Kim s office is spacious and well lit, there are some counters on one wall, a patient table in the middle of the room, and some chairs against one wall, where Jane and Michel are sitting. Chessy is holding Kate and walks around with her. Look Little giggle, there are some medics coming from an emergency! They look amazing in the suits huh? That´s heroes. Maybe i pretend to faint and need some...help. She laughs, Kate giggles.
Arthur sits on the patient table.
DR. Elizabeth enters. Arthur! Jane! Michel Great to see you again!
Jane sighs. Thanks for seeing Arthur, Doctor Elizbeth. He's been having some more trouble.
DR. Elizabeth noded. So, what seems to be the problem, Arthur?
Arthur tries to speak in a normal voice. Hoarsely, straining). My stomach's been hurting really- can't continue speaking in this voice, he is interrupted by his coughing and grimaces.
Jane frowns concerned. Arthur's been getting more worse since yesterday.
DR. Elizabeth thinks for a moment. I see... Are there any other symptoms?
Arthur resorts to whispering. I haven't been able to swallow anything. I've had to eat soup a lot.
Michael noded. Also he been getting a lot of headaches.
Arthur (Whispering Hoarsely). Michael you couldn't leave it be.
DR. Elizabeth looks at Arthur. Well then... I'll begin with a full examination.
Arthur (Whispering Hoarsely). a full examination, oh brother.
Dr. Elizabeth removes a thermometer from his coat. She puts it in Arthur's mouth as she inspects him more. takes out her doctor's flashlight and examines Arthur's ears. Oh, yes.
she now puts on her stethoscope and puts it on Arthur's back. Hmmm...!
Puts the stethoscope back around her neck and removes the thermometer from Arthur's mouth. She examines it.
DR. Elizabeth frowns. Well Arthur, I hate to break it to you, a slight low grade fever, 99 F
Jane is visibly concerned. Oh my! Does he have the flu?
DR. Elizabeth shook her head. No, I don't think that's quite it Could you open you lie down for a bite , Arthur?
She puts a finger in his right side, he gasps. OUCH! Dr. Elizabeth. Just as I thought! She stops examining Arthur.
Dr Elizabeth look at Arthur. I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but i think it´s your appendix.
Arthur (Whispering Hoarsely). My appendix?
DR. Elizbeth nodded. Yes, the pain is in the right side of your stomach right?
He nodes.
Jane widen her eyes. What would you recommend we do?
DR. Elizabeth turns to her. Well, Arthur's pain is on the right side I think it's time we consider that option.
Jane was confused. And what would that be?
DR. Elizabeth points on Arthur. A surgery to remove Arthur's appendix.
Arthur(Whispering Hoarsely). Would that work? Just taking it out?
DR. Elizabeth noded with a friendly smile. Sure. If there are no appendix, you get no infection.
Jane frowns. Do you really think that it's bad enough to need surgery?
DR. Elizabeth waves with her hand. Well, a infected appendix can break, and that´s dangerous. look it Best not Waite. Uhm, Michael, you´re alright?
Michael frowns. Me? There is nothing wrong with me.
Dr Elizbeth said nice try Michel. But you look pale. She checks him up, when she puts a finger in his right side, he gasps. OUCH!
Dr. Elizabeth nodes. I guess you have the same problem. You´re twins brothers, it could be something genetical. i will call the Hospital to let them know you are coming.
Arthur (Whispering Hoarsely). But will it really work this would be the first Thanksgiving at our New House!
We will be recovered for it. Right Mom? Michael asked.
Jane smiles. We just have to take this day by day Arthur, Michael. They left the doctor´s office.
On the way to the hospital Arthur whispers to his brother. Michael what if you have overhear someone talking on the phone?
Michael frowns. Arthur i know that look, what's up?
Arthur looks at mom who drives. Okay, you remember when i came thought the Back door and put the ice cream up, i overhear something.

Arthur opens the backdoor. Mom, Chessy, i m back.
A cell-phone rings, Meredith, David´s new assistant, flips it open.
Meredith Hello. Yes, Reverend Mosby... Uh-huh. I'll certainly ask him but I doubt if he'll be available. I understand it's for a local charity. Um-hmmm... I'm writing it all down. (she writes nothing down) Okay, got it. Sounds very worthwhile, I-agree but unfortunately, I see that Mr. Read will be out of the country those days. Yes, I'll be sure to mention it to him. Arthur noded. Yes, I loved it actually. My Dad's going out of the country? When?
Meredith shook her head. No, no, I just had to say that to get him out of something.

Jane noded. Allright let's get you both into it. We're here at Hospital here's my boys. Nice, gentle, straight ahead.
Transition to int. the Hospital emergency room. When the receptionist at the desk saw Michael, and Arthur she asked, "Is everything alright? This boys looks pretty healthy to me."
Jane sighs. Did Dr Elizabeth call she send us here'?
Nurse Grace noded. Ah, yes sorry about that. Please fille out the paper work.
Arthur is sitting in a waiting room with David, Jane, and D.W.
Int. the back room This is a room similar to a doctor's office where tests are conducted and patients are documented, similar to where D.W. was tested before her surgery. Jane except Arthur and Michel is sitting. and Nurse Carhart enters.
Nurse Carhart smiles. Hello Arthur, and Michel I hear that you two 're needing your appendix removed, I'll make sure that you're all prepared, sine Dr. Greenberg was called into another surgery, at a diffent Hospital so Dr. Goldberg will be the one who will take you both into Surgery alright

Michael and Arthur is now sitting in a chairs next to their mom.
Nurse Carhart gets some items. And now it's time for the blood sample.
Arthur (Uneasy) Blood sample?
Michael shrugs. It will be over quick.
Nurse Carhart noded. First we just get this rubber tube and wrap it around your arm. It makes the vein easier to see.
She wraps the tube around Arthur's arm. then another one around Michael´s arm.
Nurse Carhart shows some needles. Then we just put in the needles.
She inserts the needles into Arthur's and Michael´s arms, filling a vile.
Arthur looks a bit uncomfortable, but he does not speak.
Nurse Carhart smiles. All done.
Michael breathes out. That´s it.
Nurse Carhart turns around. Yes Dr. Goldberg?
Dr. Goldberg enters. So Michael, Arthur! How are you feeling?
Michael shrugs. I feel fine.
Arthur noded. The same with me.
Dr. Goldberg thinks a moment. Well that's good to hear, so I understand you're getting a appendectomy.
Jane frowns. Well Arthur's just been getting worst, and this morning it seems like Michael hiding it from us.
Dr. Goldberg noded. Well then, Arthur and Micahel c can you both lie straight up and lift your shirt please this won't hurt okay?
Both boys noded. Alright.
When Dr Goldberg checks both boys. You two do feel warm, does your left side hurt?
Michael shook his head. Nope.
Arthur agrees. No!
when the doctor puts a finger in their right stomach sides, both boys gasps. OUCH!
Dr. Goldberg said "Yep, definitely appendix. be right back Boys i need one more test
Arthur turns to Jane. Mom, where is Dad?
Jane sighs. Still at work, but he isn't pick up the phone.
Meanwhile at David´s work...
Ricky points on the phone on the table. David, your phone is beeping.
David frowns. A voicemail from Jane, she is with the boys at the doctors.

Jane: David, we just got the results and it is bad news. Both boys are positive for appendicitis, they do have to have surgery ,they are getting the rest of the results in and gonna get all the paperwork ready. So we can get the surgery going asap especially because both boys hasn't eaten a lot, they were drinking a couple of some sips of water um throughout the morning which they said it was totally fine. They are on they'd used the bathroom so everything is good and i rather just go ahead and get it done like today and not have to wait tomorrow, i call Chessy. I love you David!
David sighs. Rick, can you cover for me now i have a family emergency?
Ricky noded. Sure, David, go! Nick can you cover my shift while i take David´s shift?
Nick nodes. Sure, it involves twins.

David sighs. I know it´s odd for us to text you during class, but i need you to look after D.W. and Kate while i meet Jean at the Hospital. Arthur and Michael having both with their appendix.
Chessy nodes. David look, i will drive you to the hospital and your van back home, alright?

An hour later Jane waiting frantically in the waiting room with David, she was nervous.
David hugs her. Jane, Arthur and Michael are in the Best of care.
Jane noded. You are right David. For what seemed like an eternity.
Nurse Debra finally came out. Ms and Mr Read?
Jane and David quickly stood up when the doctor came over to them.
"How are they?" Jane asks.
Nurse: Debra quickly looks at her clipboard and said "Well, both surgeries went fine.
"When can we see them?" Jane asked as she and David followed the Nurse to where their son laid asleep.
Nurse: Debra sighs "If Arthur and Michael doing fine for the next 2 hours, you may take them home, I will be back Late to talk to you two More "
"Yes ma am ," Jane said as she sat in a chair next to the hospital bed which held her younger son.
INT. A HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY POV: STILL ARTHUR
Arthur opens his eyelid, which to the viewers (And Arthur) has only been closed for one blink. The doctors and machines have been replaced with Jane and David.
Jane frowns. How do you feel, Arthur?
NOT ARTHUR's POV.
ARTHUR (Groggy).Where are the doctors?
He grabs his throat (Whispering). Why is my throat hurting so bad?
David smiles and pats his son´s head. The surgery's already done. Your appendix are already out.
ARTHUR (Whispering). Am I going to have to stay here tonight?
David shook his head. Nope, we'll be able to go home in just a couple of hours.
ARTHUR (Whispering). I went to California then to New York and then I climb up the Statue of Liberty and fell off.
Jane smiles. A dream?
Arthur whispering again. Then i hit the ground.
Nurse Healy smiles. Hey hey sweetie, you're okay.
David looks seriously. Buddy it's okay.
Nurse Healy nodes. Okay, you all done.
Jane reaches his hand. You see us, yes that is me. You are touch me hi.

Jane looks to the nurse. Arthur? Is he okay?
Nurse Healy. It is the anaesthetization, he needs a little more rest, and maybe going to the toilet, then it´s out of his system. Close your eyes take a little nap okay shh shh take a little nap.
She turns to Michael who lay in a bed beside and drank some water. My head...oof.
Jane pats his head. All fine honey.
The nurse turns to Jane and David. Dr. Goldberg would like a word with you two in his office.
Jane noded and fondles Arthur´s hair. We be right back Arthur.
Michael wonders. Odd, that lady sound like Mom. Oh wait, it is mom. Oof!
In Dr. Goldberg Office...
Dr. Goldberg folds his hands into each other. The surgeries went as well as we could have hoped for but Arthur s body is weak from this, he ll need rest. Michael takes it a bit better. since it was caught on time.
Jane noded. We know it. I guess with the Move we did a while Back we should have caught to why Arthur was eating slowing on Parent night.
David wraps his arm around her shoulder. But we didn't, Jane, with the Kids at an new school. Now we don't know the policy for this surgeries?
Jane sighs. I read the Sandy School handbook Arthur brought home, both boys can only be off for two weeks.
Dr. Goldberg noded. Okay, I hear what Arthur was saying just wait till he wakes up a little bit.
David shrugs. Is this fairly normal occurrence.
Dr. Goldberg shook his head. Well, we have made they feel like they're totally drunk and you see double and sometimes it scares them. a little but it should pass he won't recall what took place just now so he maybe awaking soon Arthur may be unsteady on his feet. do not let him run, walk on his own. so one of you will have to be close by.
Jane sighs in relief. Don't worry, we have some help at Home waiting. Chessy, the babysitter for Kate, she´s even helping at the house. but she was in class today. I can´t await her to miss her clases so much.
Dr Goldberg points a finger up. You don`t have to minimize Arthur and Michel walking, both boys just can't climb the stairs or run or jump
TRANSITION TO: INT. READ'S GUEST ROOM - DAY
Arthur has just gotten home from the hospital. He and Michael are in their pajamas and climbing into bed. Just as he starts to get comfortable, D.W. walks in. She is dressed in her medical outfit
Arthur Noticing D.W., . Oh no...
Michael sighs. Hmm D.W. what with the Nurse Outfit. again! She was on the right side of the bed.
D.W. smiles. Michael and Arthur, i overhear Mom telling Chessy what the doctors said that you need to drink water, not sleep. since Michel did that at the Hospital . he is free to rest but since Arthur didn't drink the Water
Arthur was annoyed. D.W., I don't want to drink anything right now.
D.W. produces a cup of water and climbs onto Arthur's bed. (Ignoring Arthur) Here, I brought you some water.
D.W. puts the cup right next to Arthur.
Arthur pushes the cup away (Annoyed, Hoarsely). D.W., I said I didn't want any water!
D.W. begins to forcefully give the cup to Arthur. Arthur begins to resist with more strength. Arthur, you need water! You'll get dehhybrated [Intentional Misspelling]
During the struggle, D.W. manages to spill the entire glass of water on Michael`s chest.
Michael protests. Hey! D.W.!
D.W. (Calling To Jane). Mom! Arthur won't drink his water! And Michael yells at me!
Jane comes in, concerned. What's going on here?
Arthur (Hoarsely). D.W.'s trying to be a doctor again, she's making me drink.
Jane crosses her arms. . D.W., stop bothering your brother if They'd trying to rest. and Arthur, I know you don't want to, but you should try to drink water, it'll help you heal. If Michael can manage water at the hospital then you can too!
Michael noded. Just a little sip, like that Nurse told us.
Arthur rolles his eyes. Oh right, Michael I forgot about that.
Michael smiles. So will you try it just this once there is nothing in the Water this time, no medicine.
Arthur noded. Alright, just a little sip.
D.W. points to the water. But Mom, Arthur will never drink his water unless I make sure he does!
Jane giggles amused. I think that we can trust him. Why don't you help me in the kitchen? takes D.W. by the hand and walks her out of the room.
Arthur took a sip. That water wasn't that bad .
INT. HALLWAY - DAY
D.W. stops walking and looks up at Jane as they left they room
D.W. (To Jane). But Mom, I thought that the surgery was supposed to make Arthur and Michel better, why do they need to rest like they'd still sick?
Jane smiles. Well D.W., to help Arthur and Michel stay healthy in the long run, the doctors had to cut the side of his Stomach, so he'll be hurting for a while.
D.W. pouts. Then why won't you let me help them?
Jane thinks a moment. You can still help your brothers, just try to not do anything that bothers. them Remember how he treated you before your operation? Try to do that for him.
D.W. jumps up ran ahead Mom you just give me an Ideas i have to go talk to Dad really quick.

Michael drops a pillow at his brother. Arthur wake up!
Arthur opens his eyes. Hmm ( Yawns), Michael what the matter?
Michael points at his ears. It`s too quit.

Michael climbs put of the bed. Alright, remember Arthur, we have to walk slowly without been caught.
Arthur noded. Come on, something small yummy in the kitchen. Besides, i wanna drop the hospital band.

INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - EVENING
Arthur and Michael walks into the kitchen, where David is preparing dinner. Jane is also in the kitchen.
David smiles. Hi boys, seems you feel better, how about some dinner?
Arthur frowns and shakes his head. No thanks. I don't feel like eating anything now.
Michael noded. Uhm, what time is it?
Jane looks at her watch. It´s 6 pm, time for dinner.
D.W. suddenly runs into the kitchen with a glass of apple juice.
Arthur screams (The best he can) when he notices D.W. offering him liquid.
D.W. grins. How about some apple juice?
Arthur stops, noticing that D.W. is not forcing him. Alright, thanks. He takes the juice and starts to drink it. not Michel it teast Mixed Berry that Ms Riley normal make in the Morings
Jane gets up. How is your tummy, Arthur?
Arthur stops drinking his juice. That's why we also came in here?
Michael frowns. Right , it's hurt little! Is there anything you can do?
Jane noded. The doctors gave me some medicine to help with any pain you have, do you want to take some.
Arthur looks over to his brother. Sure, anything that can help.
Jane walks over to a counter and pours a dosing cup full of liquid medicine into it.
Arthur drinks it and coughs.
Jane (Concerned). Is something wrong?
Arthur gulps. Im fine Mom . It tastes terrible, that´s all! No need to panic.
Michael sighs. Grown ups, huh? Panicking quick.
Jane nodes. I know it does, but you still need to drink a lot to help your stomach to heal, you don't want to end up back in the hospital because you didn't drink enough!
Jane takes the juice glasses from Arthur and Michael and refills it. Here, have some more juice, the doctors said that room temperature liquid would be easier to drink.
D.W. puts a finger to her chin. Will the two ever be able to eat regular thing again?
Jane smiles mildly. Oh sure they will, they'll start getting better tomorrow probably.
TRANSITION TO:
INT. READ'S GUEST ROOM - NIGHT
Michael sleeps silent and peaceful.
Arthur is asleep too, but it does not appear to be a restful sleep. He is tossing and turning in his bed.
FADE TO:
INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - ARTHUR'S DREAM - MORNING
Jane and David both sit at the table. Arthur walks in.
David waves. Morning, Arthur. Are you ready for your surgery today?
Arthur (Hoarsely). Ugh, I would hate to have to go through with that again.
Jane sounds confused. Again? What do you mean again, Arthur?
Arthur (Hoarsely). What? You mean you don't remember that I had surgery yesterday?
D.W. suddenly calls into the room. D.W. (O.S, Mocking) Arthur's scared of surgery!
Arthur (Hoarsely). Am not!
Arthur turns around and looks at D.W.
Arthur screams when he sees D.W., she is toweringly tall, seemingly eight feel tall.
Jane speaks to Arthur, but she is not in the shot. JANE (O.S) What's wrong, Arthur?
Arthur turns around and sees Jane: she is a large elephant.
Arthur turns and looks at David: He is a lion.
David roars at Jane, who trumpets back at him.
[AUTHOR'S NOTE: Did you know that you call the sound an elephant makes a "trumpet?"]
Arthur (To Self, Hoarsely). I need to sit down...
Arthur reaches for a chair, but as soon as he touches the chair it turns into a pile of goo and puddles on the floor.
Arthur (Shouting). What's going on!?
INT. READ'S GUEST ROOM - MORNING
Arthur snaps awake from his dream and looks at the clock, which reads .
Michael´s bed was empty.
INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - MORNING
Arthur walks into the kitchen again. Jane, David, Michael and D.W. are in the kitchen.
Jane smiles. Good morning, Arthur. How are you feeling today?
Arthur (Hoarsely). Still my stomach hurts, but not like yesterday.
D.W. frowns. More worse?
Jane laughs. No, D.W. i don´t think so. Here, some more medicine Arthur.
While Jane doses the medicine, David speaks to Arthur. Did you at least have a good night's sleep?
Michael noded. I did.
Arthur (Hoarsely). I had the weirdest dream, I don't thin I've ever had one where things made less sense.
David noded. Sometimes that can happen to you after the medicine they give you.
Arthur (Hoarsely, Protesting). Then why do I keep drinking more of it?
Jane hands the cup of medicine to Arthur. Because otherwise your throat and ears will keep hurting.
Arthur frowns and gulps the medicine down.
Arthur (Hoarsely). I'm not sure how much more of that I can swallow.
David looks at Arthur. Speaking of swallowing, are you going to want to swallow some breakfast today?
Arthur was unsure. I don't know, I think I might just wait until lunch.
SHOT: D.W.'S ARM POPS UP INTO THE SHOT, HOLDING A GLASS
Arthur (Hoarsely). Thanks, D.W.
TRANSITION TO:
INT. THE READ'S LIVING ROOM - DAY
Arthur is sitting on the couch, watching Bionic Bunny.
D.W. sits on the floor next to the couch, she does not look interested in Bionic Bunny and is instead playing with her toys.
ARTHUR (Hoarsely, To D.W.). Thanks for letting me watch Bionic Bunny, D.W.
D.W. looks up to Arthur. Well, you did let me watch what I wanted when I got surgery, so I figured I should too, even though Mary Moo Cow is much better.
Arthur ignores D.W.'s thinly veiled insult to Bionic Bunny and continues to watch.
After just a few more seconds of watching, the doorbell rings.
ARTHUR (Hoarsely). I'll get it.
INT. THE HOUSE ENTRANCE - DAY
Arthur opens the door to find Buster standing in the doorway.
Arthur (Hoarsely). Hey Buster, what's going on?
Buster frowns. Gee, you sound terrible, Arthur. How do you feel?
Arthur sighs. I was feeling really bad yesterday, but I'm a little better today. How's everyone else?
Buster smiles. We all went to the Sugar Bowl today. I brought you your favorite: Extra Orange-y soda.
Buster takes out a bottle of soda and hands it to Arthur.
Arthur (Hoarsely, Looking At Bottle). Finally, something I actually want to drink.
Arthur speaks to Buster in a more direct manor. I haven't eaten anything since before my surgery, and everyone's been making me drink tons of other stuff.
Arthur opens the bottle and takes a drink.
CUT TO:
INT. JANE´S OFFICE AT HOME - DAY
Jane is working on the computer.
Suddenly, she is interrupted by the sounds of Arthur choking and coughing.
She instantly stops working and runs over to the entrance of the house.
INT. THE HOUSE ENTRANCE - DAY
Arthur is coughing and looks to be in pain, the bottle of soda in his hands.
Buster is in the doorway, concerned about Arthur.
Jane runs to Arthur's side and takes the soda from his hands. Arthur! You shouldn't be drinking this! The orange has acid, it burns your stomach. The fizz also causes burning.
Arthur starts to recover. Now you tell me...
Jane pats his shoulder. Why don't you come with me into the kitchen, we'll find something more suited to your throat.
Arthur turns to Buster. Thanks for stopping by, Buster.
When Buster leaves, Chessy passes him with Kate in a stroller, some bags in the back of it. Yo , Busterino! How´s it rollin bro?
Buster grets her. Hey, Chessy, right? Well, i brought Arthur a soda, but he has trouble to drink it. I feel bad now.
Chessy stomps him a bit with her ellbow and smirks. You didn`t know he can´t drink it. It´s not your fault. All fine Busterino. C ya around buddy.
The rabbit-boy noded with a smile. Thank you.
He walked away, Chessy enters the hallway and closes the door with her foot. Hello!
Jane´s voice came from the kitchen. We´re here Chessy!

INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - DAY
Arthur sits at the table. Jane is standing up, holding the bottle of the soda.
Jane was concerned. Arthur, you know that you shouldn't have been drinking soda, they told you that at the hospital.
Arthur noded. I know, I guess I just forgot. I got sick of drinking nothing but water and juice all day. Hope Buster gets not feeling bad, he didn´t know.
Jane smiles. Well, maybe you want to move on from juice and try eating some food for lunch today?
Arthur (Hoarsely). Well what can I eat? It still hurts to swallow anything that I need to chew!
Chessy enters the kitchen, Kate in one arm, two bags in the other. Hey hey! Arthur, it takes time to eat and drink normal again, my tonsils got removed two ears ago. A surgery is always taking time to heal. Jane, i get all what was on the list. Little giggle, your Mommy is here!
She hands a laughing Kate over to Jane. The mother smiles. Hello my Sweetie. Thanks Chessy for stopping at the shop.
The girl laughs. No problemo Ms. Read. Me and Kate had a nice window shopping trip in the mall. Right Little Giggle?
She laughs, then she grabs into one of the bags. Yo Arthur, i have some cold tea, no fruits but it´s not that bad. And some icecream, vanilla and chocolate, fruits are no thing now. You see, icecream or pudding, isn´t the baddest huh?
Jane smiles amused, with Chessy there is no bad mood. Even Arthur smiles. Well, a tea and some pudding, that would be great.
FADE TO:
INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - LATER - DAY
A little time has passed since the last scene, Michael and Arthur are eating a bowl of chocolate pudding.
Plates of another lunch item are placed on the table for the rest of the family. Chessy sat beside Kate.
David (Calling To Elsewhere In House). D.W., lunch is ready!
D.W. runs into the kitchen and sits at the table. She notices that Arthur and Michael are eating pudding. Hey, that's not fair!
Jane looks at her daughter. What's not fair, D.W.?
D.W. was confused. Just because they had surgery, they can eat lots of pudding for lunch?
Jane sighs. D.W., their stomaches still healing. If they ate food that was hard, they could get hurt again, so they will be eating soft foods like pudding for a while.
D.W. widen her eyes. How long is a while?
Jane shrugs. At least a week, maybe longer.
D.W. pouts.
Chessy clears her throat. Thanks for the dinner Ms. and Mr. Read. My grandma has her poker friends today, six old granny´s the same time, it´s louder than at the airport!
David shrugs. Chessy, it´s okay. You´re always welcome.
Jane noded. Indeed, you are a big help, not only with Kate, with a lot more. You´re an helping angel.
Chessy gets a bit embarrassed and smiles. Thank you so much, you´re the coolest family i ever meet, beside grandma.
Jane smiles, then she stood up, came over and hugs Chessy. No need to mention it, my dear! No need to mention it!
Chessy surpresses some tears. Th-thanks Ms. Read!
The scene fades.
INT. THE READ'S LIVING ROOM (WITH GRANDFATHER CLOCK) - DAY
Arthur, Michael and D.W. are playing checkers at the coffee table.
D.W. finishes making her move. Do you want something to eat?
Arthur (Hoarsely). Sure D.W., how about a freezy-pop?
Michael noded.
INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - DAY
D.W. enters the kitchen, where Jane is doing some paperwork Mom, Arthur, Michael and I want freezy-pops, could we have some?
Jane noded. Sure, I'll get you some.
Jane gets up and opens the freezer, taking out the box of freezy-pops.
She removes two red freezy-pop.
Jane frowns. Oh, there's only two red one left, the rest are orange and purple.
D.W. noded. OK, I'll take it-
She pauses. I'll take it to Arthur and Michael, and I'll have a purple one.
Jane smiles. That's very nice of you, D.W.
D.W. begins to walk away, but she turns back to Jane. Mom, aren't you worried that Arthur and Michael going to need husky pants again after eating all of this dessert?
Jane shook her head with a laughter. No D.W., Their bodies actually needed all of the energy and sugar in these foods to help repair their stomachs faster.
D.W. nods and begins to walk away again, but turns again. But what if the freezy-pop is too cold? Maybe we should just give them some juice.
Jane smiles. D.W., if you really want the red freezy-pop, you can just say so.
D.W. smiles shyly; she did not think her plan would be discovered. No, that's OK, I'll give it to them.
INT. THE READ'S LIVING ROOM (WITH GRANDFATHER CLOCK) - DAY
D.W. gives the freezy-pops to Arthur and Michael.
ARTHUR (Hoarsely). Thanks, D.W.
Michael noded. Thank you.
D.W. So guys, how long are you going to keep eating pudding and freezy-pops?
ARTHUR (Hoarsely). I don't know, but I'm not exactly complaining. Even though my stomach still hurts, at least I get to eat food like this!

INT. READ'S GUEST ROOM - NIGHT
Arthur is in bed, being tucked in by his dad.
David. smiles. Goodnight, Arthur.
Arthur yawns. Night, Dad.
David turns to Michael. Goddnight Michael.
Michael yanws too. Night dad.
David turns off the light and leaves the room.

INT. READ'S GUEST ROOM - MORNING
Arthur wakes up and puts on his glasses. He looks at the clock.
SHOT: CLOCK, READING 8:14
Arthur jumps up(To Self, Hoarsely). Oh no! I'm late for school!
Arthur hastily gets ready for school, similar to how he did in "Arthur's Underwear"
Arthur dashes out of his room.
INT. THE HALLWAY - MORNING
Arthur can be seen running. He quickly dashes into the kitchen.
INT. THE READ'S KITCHEN - MORNING
Arthur suddenly stops in his tracks when he notices David in the kitchen, next to a pot on the stove.
David smiles. Oh, good morning, Arthur! How did you sleep?
Arthur (Confused, Hoarsely). Dad? What are you doing? I'm late for school, it's Monday!
Then he saw Michael sitting in his pajamas at the table, eating oatmeal.
David laughs. Arthur, you can't go to school yet, the doctors said that you'll need to recover at home for a while.
David looks down at the pot. Now, how about some oatmeal?
Arthur(Hoarsely). Ummm, sure.
Arthur sits at the table and begins to eat his oatmeal.
Meredith passes the kitchen. She wears a red sleeveless crop-top and very skimpy blue shorts with sneakers. She waves with a smile at David. See you tomorrow David! Buh-bye everyone!
Chessy was ready to leave the house with the girl, Kate in her arms, she and D.W. looking after the wombat-woman, a suspicious expression on their faces. The fox-girl looks to the others. Meredith, what is the thing? Kate, D.W., we have to keep an eye open alright?
Kate looks at chessy, then she winks.
D.W. noded. Im on the watch Chessy!
Both girls high-fived.
INT. THE READ'S LIVING ROOM - DAY
Arthur is sitting on the couch, he is reading a book.
D.W. enters the room. Why are you back so soon?
Arthur looks up from his book.
ARTHUR (Hoarsely). I didn't go to school today, the doctors said that I need to let my stomach heal. Michael is upstairs, finishing his thousand piece puzzle.
The doorbell rings.
Arthur gets up and walks to the door.
INT. THE HOUSE ENTRANCE - DAY
Arthur opens the door. Once again, Sally is standing in the doorway.
Arthur (Hoarsely). Hi Sally, you didn't bring any soda this time, did you?
Sally. No, I brought something less fun: Homework.
Arthur (Hoarsely, Slightly Disappointed). Oh, I forgot that I'd still have to do homework.
Arthur takes the stack of homework from Sally.
Sally smiles. So how's your and Michael´s stomach? Everyone at school wants to know. Especially the Perkins twins.
Arthur (Hoarsely). It's still hurting, but I think it's starting to feel better. I still can't eat anything except pudding, oatmeal, and other soft things.
Sally. Look on the bright side: you get to eat as much pudding as you want!
Arthur (Hoarsely). Yeah, I guess that's pretty good. Tell everyone I said hi, I'll probably be back at school soon.
Sally smiles. Well, then c ya buddy. She hugs him and kisses him on the cheek, then she left. Arthur was a bit confused. Huh?
He closes the door and walks away. Girls, who understands?

INT. THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS - MORNING
Arthur is walking down the stairs when the phone rings.
He runs down the remaining stairs and answers the phone.
Arthur's voice is no longer hoarse.
Arthur (To Phone). Hello?
Buster (On Phone). Arthur? Are you still alive? You haven't been at school all week as i heard. And stay all at home.
Arthur (To Phone). Tell me about it! It's terrible! I haven't eaten any real food since the surgery, and I've just been sitting at home!
Buster (On Phone). Well, that doesn't sound so bad.
Arthur (To Phone). It wasn't at first, but it got boring after a few days.
Buster(On Phone). Any idea when you'll be able to eat normal food and go back to school again?
Arthur (To Phone). Actually, we're going to the Doctor's office soon to have them check my stomach. Hopefully, they'll tell me that I can eat and go to school again. And meet you guys again in my free time.
Buster (On Phone). That great! Tell me how it goes.
FADE TO:
INT. A HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
Arthur and Michael are sitting on the table in the middle of the room.
Jane, David and D.W. all sit in chairs in the room. Chessy was with Kate in the park.
Dr. Goldberg enters. Hello Arthur, Michael! How is your stomachs holding up?
Arthur smiles. It's a lot better than before, it was horrible right after the surgery!
Michael noded. Way better!
Dr. Goldberg laughs. Well, let's take a look at it. can you lie down please.
Arthur giggles when the doctor examines him.
Jane rolles her eyes amused. Arthur, how can Dr. Goldberg: do his job when you are wiggling so much"
Arthur giggles. I can't help it. it tickles.
Dr. Goldberg lgoes over to examine Michael. Well, that is a good thing.
Michael giggles too.
Dr. Goldberg: does a few general checks, similar to a normal check up. afterward
Dr. Goldberg noded. Well Arthur, I would have to say that you are healing very well.
Arthur looks surprised. So can I go back to school and eat normal food now?
Dr. Goldberg smiles. You can go back to school, yes. You can also eat most foods, but I would still say nothing like heaver meals remember no bilk riding or lift things and no running
Michael points a finger up. So can we head up stairs at home?
Dr Goldberg shook his head. No Boys, not until you see two Dr Elizbeth in a few weeks. Alright?
Arthur and Michael sighed. Alright!
Back home
Chessy enters theliving room where Arthur and Michael play a game.. Your Mom told me about you´re better. I'm gonna go make you something special to eat. What would you like?
Michael and Arthur thinking a moment. before they smile. How about Spaghetti and the Meatballs you made for dad´s birthday dinner?
The red fox-girl smiles. You get it boys, the special Gardner spaghetti Meatball Overkill! On the way!
Arthur and Michel smiling as the scene fades.
TRANSITION TO: Ms. Riley classroom
Miss Zorski opens the door. Arthur Read, you're nine seconds late!
Arthur sighs. Sorry, I just had my appendix out and it's kind of hard to moving fast actually.
Miss Zorski looks stern. Arthur, life skill is a lot like life and life doesn't care about your appendix make up work is on your own time.
Arthur sighs when he sat down at his desk. Sally where is Ms. Riley or Ms Judy?
Sally rolles her eyes. They left for the Meeting so we are stuck with this High school teacher for the morning. And not the niecest one.
Arthur sighs. Great. Uhm, Sally, your kiss...
Sally laughs. No worries, it was friend´s kiss for good luck! That you boys always get nervous. You´re cute, but not that cute!
later at Lunch time
D.W. pushes kids out of the way of Arthur and Michael. Back up please, can't you see my Brothers are still recovering from there operation, thank you!
Miranda stepped beside. Get over it i had I had my tonsils out twice and I didn't pathetically mock the sympathy, you brat!
Michael frowns. Like you're even close Miranda our appendix almost burst and you get dirty.
D.W. thinks. I don't think you can have your tonsils out twice, you liying!
Miranda growls. Well, mine grew back, so watch it boys.
Arthur was confused. You think it is true Michael?
Michael shook his head. Nah Arthur, Miranda could just be lying is all. There is are our friends waiting, thanks D.W.!
Arthur was sitting in the cafeteria with Sally, Michael, Carlton, Jerold and Ernie.
Arthur has a tray in front of him, on it is a hamburger and a drink.
The scene comes in as Arthur is finishing the telling of their surgery tale. So my stomach isn't hurting as much, and the doctor said that I can eat anything I want!
Michael frowns. Arthur?
Arthur sighs annoyed. Okay, okay almost anything. just nothing heavy for now!
Michael noded. that more like it.
Carlton frowns. So does that mean that you aren't going to give me your food anymore? Because that hamburger looks really good.
Arthur smiles. Sorry Carlton, this one's mine!
Arthur takes a bite of his Hamburger as the scene fades.
