Transfiguration was far more interesting than he had anticipated before. They had a bit of theory before and Professor McGonagall had informed that Transfiguration was a dangerous subject and that's why only the first three years when learning the basics, they had classes with another house. Even this three years also the professor will oversee that no one messes with the subject. Professor McGonagall's sharp eyes and stern voice had already terrified both the Slytherin and Gryffindor students.

"Is that clear, everyone? If I find anyone of you messing around in my class, then you will leave and not come back. You have been warned even my own house. Transfiguration is the more elegant and superior to other types of magic. This is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts." McGonagall's voice boomed.

"Now, this is your syllabus for your first year. The chapters have been divided into two parts for your first and second terms." Parchments appeared in front of the students.

"This year you will learn the theory of the transfiguration of desk into pig as the practical you'll learn on your next years. Others you have to practice both practical and theoretical knowledge of other spells. Now, can anyone tell me the proper definition of transfiguration?"

Hands shot up and students were called but no one explained it properly.

"Yes, Mr. Potter."

"It is taught as the art of changing the form and appearance of an object or a person. There are limits to transfiguration, which are governed by 'Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration'. There are also many branches of Transfiguration, including Trans-Species Transformation and Human Transfiguration, also known as animagus or animagi as in plural. This type of magic is regarded as, very hard work and more scientific, as one had to get it exactly right for the transfiguration to be successful." Harry finished and saw a rare smile on McGonagall's face.

" Twenty points to Slytherin, for the correct and detailed information."

"Transfiguration is achieved through concentration, precise wand movements, and the proper pronunciation of an incantation, but also will. However, it requires great effort also. Now, today first let start with the theory part and then we will start with the practical portion. Now, open up page no. 153."

The book read :

*It is unknown who invented this spell as it seemed to pop up in many places around the world spontaneously in the 15th century. Many believe it was seamstress Delfina Crimp, the witch who was also credited with inventing the Severing Charm, which you will learn in your Charms classes. This chapter will look closely at the Transfiguration spell of Acusignis, also known informally as Match to Needle. The word is derived from Latin, acus meaning "needle", and ignus meaning "torch". It is the incantation used in Match to Needle exercises, and is pronounced aku-sig-nis. Looking back at our categories in Chapter 1, this spell falls under the Transformation Transfiguration branch. It is used to transform a match into a needle. This is one of the most basic Transfiguration spells and is commonly practiced in all beginner Transfiguration classes.

The spell itself does not cast any light or noise, but strictly transforms a match pointed at with the caster's wand into a needle.

The level of this Transfiguration is basic.

T= Transformation of a match into a needle

A= caster must be heavier than the match

V= intent must be at least mild

W= any wand power

C= fair

Z= well-spoken, as clear as possible*

Soon, it was the time to do the practical and Harry observed the incantation and diagram. He then took out his wand and the match changed instantly and now on his desk was the needle.

"Well done, Mr. Potter." Harry looked up to see McGonagall smiling at him and showed the whole class.

"Outstanding performance, Mr. Potter 20 points to Slytherin for completing the work on time. Take 5 points extra for transfiguring in your first try." McGonagall smiled.

And she moved to next desk. All the students were staring him, when Aries also managed to transfigure the match and earned another 10 points. By the end of the class, almost all Slytherins have got the transfiguration along with Hermione and a boy named Dean Thomas. Harry looked as Ron was glaring at him for getting the points for Slytherin. He rolled his eyes and concentrated on talking with Aries. It wasn't something new. In his previous school also, everyone was jealous of him, and personally he was glad that he was proving to be better than everyone in Hogwarts also. It was good, if they understand that it was HE, Harry James Potter who was better than all of them and soon everyone will eventually realize it. He knew one or the other day, there will be students, maybe one or more, that will confront him. There wasn't a problem though, he will deal with them till they learn their place, which was beneath him. And soon, a day will come when they all will be worshipping him and pledging to serve him.

The next was his charms class. He was amazed when he watched the half goblin and to know he was a dueling champion was another thing.

Classroom 2E had three rows of desks, all facing the teacher's table, behind which sat a large upholstered chair with a high back. Two blackboards flanked the teacher's table, and behind them was a small shelf with books and other objects, beneath a pair of windows. "Welcome to Charms class." Professor Flitwick squeaked. "This is your syllabus for your first year. The chapters have been divided into two parts for your first and second terms." Parchments appeared in front of the students.

"Today we shall be learning the Levitation Charm. The Levitation Charm is one of the first spells learnt by any young witch or wizard. With the charm a witch or wizard can make things fly with the flick of a wand. The charm is an excellent test of your magical skills, wand control and above all, patience. First, we will understand the theory part. The Levitation Charm was invented in 1544 by warlock Jarleth Hobart who mistakenly believed that he had at last succeeded in doing what wizard kind had so far failed to do, and learnt to fly. He eventually realized that he had invented a spell that would lift objects into the air and could cause them to hover for varying lengths of time, depending on their weight, and the skill of the spell caster. This charm ought not to be seen as a joke spell. It can be most useful in duels and can lift physical obstacles and can even Levitate small creatures (though this is likely to confuse any poor animal and is certainly not to be encouraged). Despite its strengths, however, the Levitation Charm had one fatal flaw: it did not work on human beings. Though a human could be levitated using this charm, it was actually their clothing that was being affected. The charm was apparently not strong enough to allow a human to do anything more that float a few feet off the air using this method, and therefore did not allow the true flight afforded to most other objects. Almost anything could be lifted with this spell, although the object levitated depended on the skill of the caster and the weight of the object. The effects of this charm could be reversed with the General Counter-Spell. Wingardium Leviosa

Whilst it was originally assumed that this spell and the Hover Charm were the same, they are not; the Hover Charm makes the target hover, whereas this one is always described as making it fly.

Now, don't forget that nice wrist movement we've been practicing! Swish and flick, remember, swish and flick. And saying the magic words properly is very important, too." Flitwick was looking at everyone and correcting the hand movements.

The first class was proved to be boring for Harry as it was only the theory part, that was taught to them. Harry had heard from a fellow Slytherin that Flitwick often students had the partnered up in class to experiment on one another, which proved to be true when in the second period Flitwick finally taught them practically.

Herbology and History of magic proved to be boring. While Herbology was a subject that was advantageous, it didn't required his attention or to say maybe required his minimum attention. Though, he had high hopes from the history of magic. First of all, the class was taught by a ghost, it was obvious that he would have the knowledge of the history and changes of the wizarding world, for someone who died before 1890 due to a fire, if the rumors were true. He remembered that when Professor Binns opened his notes and began to read in a flat drone like an old vacuum cleaner until nearly everyone in the class was in a deep stupor, occasionally coming round long enough to copy down a name or date, then falling asleep again. Of course except him, the insufferable know-it-all, and Malfoy. Astronomy, on the other hand was interesting. He had to admit that Professor Aurora knew her stuff and was one of the teachers who didn't buy that Granger's nonsense, the other being, surprisingly, Binns.

Defence Against the Dark Arts was another subject he liked. There was no doubt that Quirell was a good professor, if not the best. He knew his stuff and teach them efficiently, though there was no doubt that the way Quirell looked at him was not at all comfortable and especially his turban. It was something he would like to solve.

It has been nearly a week. The sorting of Harry Potter is still giving a certain chill to the Gryffindors especially a certain red haired boy and his work to a certain bushy haired girl. On the other side, Harry was having a great time with Aries. Aries had managed to become a friend, which he never had, the other Slytherins ignored him. Harry had managed to earn more than hundred and fifty points and was behaving as he was expected to as a Slytherin, therefore, his housemates left him to himself. Today, it was however, a different day. A certain Slytherin had decided that it was a shame that a half-blood like Harry Potter was getting all the praise.

It was the Thursday night. Harry and Aries were in library preparing for their next days lesson. Aries had told Harry, in the mean time, that they were god-brothers. His father, Sirius Orion Black, was Harry's god-father, who was in coma since 11 years, a year before Harry's parents died. While Aries mother was killed by death-eaters just before his first birthday. While James was Aries god-father. It was hard to know that it was their common best friend Remus Lupin who turned out to be the traitor, and killed the another one named Peter Pettigrew. Remus Lupin was currently locked up in Azkaban in a lone cell with high security Dementors in the depths of Azkaban. He had also led Antonin Doholov and Thorfinn Rowle to the Longbottoms who cursed Harry's god-mother Alice Longbottom and her husband Frank Longbottom into insanity. Their only son Neville Longbottom was raised with Diggory's after Neville nearly died due to Augusta and Algie Longbottom. Aries lived with his father's cousin Andromeda Tonks and her family, that weird haired girl was Nymphadora Tonks, better known as Dora or Tonks. She was currently the head girl and eldest daughter of Andromeda and Edward Tonks, from Hufflepuff and the girlfriend of Charlie Weasley, a fellow Gryffindor. Tonks was a metamorphmagus, and Harry considered her to become a great asset for him, if she decides to join him. Harry had asked if he knew the reason and Aries replied that he heard from his aunt that it was Dumbledore who had suddenly informed his, Harry's and Neville's parents to hide inside the fidelius charm suddenly saying, the three kids would be Voldemort's target. Harry gazed pensively at the glass in front of him, lost in thought and just nodded to him. Harry and Aries were returning to the Slytherin common room few minutes before curfew when they heard a voice from inside.

"You lot are an insult to Slytherin", Rowle growled, none of them noticed Harry and Aries stepped inside the room. "He's a half-blood, son of a filthy mud-blood whore and a blood traitor and that black another blood traitor's son, I understand that Aries Black is supporting him but what about you all? Your families are genuine Slytherin, doesn't it hurts you? To share a dorm, the common room, with HIM, a half-blood freak."

"I agree with Rowle. We would never accept some half-blood, like that Potter, as a member of our house. The Slytherin house is destined for those people whose members have genuinely supported our house and traditions from generations. Not some families who had become blood traitor's in the recent years." Felix Rosier nodded.

'Looks like I was right', Harry thought. It was then, Harry made his presence known and noticed that a group of five boys and a girl turned and looked at him smiling cruelly.

"I believe that it's time you shall learn your place, half-breed, you shouldn't even be allowed to Hogwarts, much less to the noble house of Slytherin. Your place is on the feet of us, and you dare to look at our eyes." Rowley said and Harry looked at his face, which was supposed to be menacing, but in reality it was looking hilarious. Harry and Aries just rolled their eyes.

Harry sighed, it wasn't a week and they were directly confronting him, not before complaining about him. Where was the saying about Slytherin's being subtle?

"I thought the members of the Slytherin house were supposed to be subtle, but you're behaving more like those obnoxious Gryffindors." Harry said clicking his tongue.

"I think, it's about time that you know your place, Potter. For us, you're even worse than a mud-blood. Your place is beneath me. You shall lick my boots and beg for my mercy and I'll make sure that you learn your place." Rowle smiled cruelly ignoring Harry's words.

"Beg and me?" Harry raised his eyebrow "And who will teach me my place? You?" The whole room was silent. Some were clearly siding with Rowle, families like Greengrass were standing in between and acted neutral. While a few stood aside not understanding what to do, they weren't going to make enemy with Harry Potter without knowing about him, and preferred to stay away from the commotion as far as they can.

Suddenly, everyone panicked as they felt the force of magic upon them. They were feeling a sense of dread, a few students even started to vomit and shout, shivering in fear like death himself had walked towards them. The torches were flickering and suddenly they saw something, which they will never forget. Harry James Potter was standing there with his eyes glowing in the colour of killing curse, glaring at Rowle so fiercely that, they were sure the killing curse will come from those deathly eyes and kill Rowle.

Harry was clearly mad. He had first thought that he will observe everyone and pick out the people who can act as his perfect followers. He will start to make his powerbase after few years once he's done observing and soon he will become the most powerful wizard which he thought would be easy as he was already seen as a popular and important wizard by the wizarding world. But looks like some Slytherins weren't going to provide him the peace he needed and Harry Potter knew how to show these type of people their place.

A loud crack followed by a blood curling scream screeched through the common room. Everyone focused on Rowle who was screaming so loudly that most of the people could bet that Rowle will damage his vocal cord in a few minutes. The other Slytherins with Rowle had tightened their wands, two of them tried to curse Harry but they suddenly fell infront of him and their knees started to bled and the other Slytherins looked at Harry with fear.

"I bow to no one! You bow to me. Am I clear?" Harry looked at rest of the Slytherin's who were supporting Rowle and suddenly everything appeared to be normal. "Decide, submission or fight?" Harry looked at everyone and saw that they were still in shock of whatever happened.

A girl came towards him and bowed, "I am yours to serve master. I, Carina Cassiopeia Lestrange, choose to submit myself to you, my lord." The upper year Slytherins were shocked. They knew what it meant. They looked warily at Harry and then at Carina. "And the rest of you?" Crabbe, Goyal and the Carrow sisters were quick to bow to Harry while Draco, Homam and Theodore looked at each other and after few minutes went from there. The second and third year Slytherins joined them while the fourth and upper years quietly declared that they would like to remain neutral for now.

Harry sneered at them and went to his dorm followed by Aries, who himself seemed to be shocked. Some of the upper year students took the injured Slytherins in infirmary. That night no one except Harry slept peacefully, especially the boys sharing their room with one Harry Potter.

The next morning, as Harry stepped down, the Slytherin's cleared his way. It was clear to everyone that who ruled the Slytherin house. Even the upper year students seemed to acknowledge Harry's power as they had no explanation for what have transpired the last night. But they know understand that Harry Potter was a powerhouse and they won't be taking any step against him without considering the pros and cons. Today was the day, every snake was waiting for, their first lesson with their head of house. Harry sat on Great Hall, remembering what Aries had informed him about his parents death, he looked at Dumbledore angrily and then closed his eyes after sometime and started eating his breakfast, while the other students were focusing on their food and Harry continuously.
