Peridot Pools

19th of August, 1997.

The sun stood high in the sky. Kato and Draco had decided to head out for a few days. The Elovyns were accompanying them. All of them needed some time away from the caves. Qozul was staying with the other Crystalbacks while they were away. At first, they just wandered aimlessly. It was nice to just be outside with the sky above their heads and a nice breeze tugging at their hair and clothes

In the distance, they could see a pack of lions.

Draco's mood had been dark since they found the Priestess. It had helped to learn that Kato had fallen victim to a similar situation at his age. He was glad that the Priestess hadn't gotten as close to him as Potema had gotten to Kato. He stopped next to Kato. "What's going on?" he asked.

"There is an elephant over there," Laurina said.

"Elephants usually travel in herds, don't they?" Kato said as he looked over at land's largest mammal.

"Unless it's a male," Laurina said. Suddenly she gasped. "Oh, no," she breathed

"She's got a calf," Ralis said. "That's ain't good. The little one'll never make it."

"I wonder why they've gotten separated," Laurina said.

"Where do they usually go?" Kato asked

"Etosha National Park," Ralis said. "It's a bit of a trek from here, but the calf won't make it. Not in this drought."

"Could we give them water?" Draco asked. He wasn't sure why but he didn't want the calf to die.

"Not unless you're willing to go with them to Etosha," Ralis said.

Draco looked at his Master. He couldn't imagine Kato not helping these poor animals. "Can we do it?" he asked.

"It will be a long walk," Kato said.

"So what," Draco said. "If it will save their lives does that matter?"

Kato chuckled. "We'll have to let Rourk know why we're suddenly disappearing. We've translated everything there is down there right now so they don't need us," he said.

"I can do that," Laurina said. "Is there anything I should bring?"

"I've got food for about a week with me already," Kato said. "We should be fine. I guess you could check if there is a smaller tent we could bring with us."

"Will do," Laurina said before grabbing her broom and heading down into the Caverns.

"Why do you have a week's worth of food with you? We weren't planning on being away for that long," Ralis said.

Kato chuckled. "Once I didn't plan ahead," he said. "I had to eat a wolf for three days. Wolves don't taste that great."

Ralis looked at him like he was slightly insane. He'd never ended up going on an unplanned trip. Laurina liked knowing what was going to happen ahead of time, and he didn't complain.

Draco and Ralis stayed back as Kato approached the two elephants. "Kaan Drem Ov," he said softly before reaching them. He held out his hands in front of himself and cupped them. Water started pooling into the small cup. The mama sought the water out with her trunk and sucked it up greedily. Kato matched the flow of water into his hands to her speed. "Why are you all the way out here away from your herd girl," he said softly in Tamrielic. He moved his hands closer to her calf as she lifted her trunk and sprayed the water into her mouth.

By the time Laurina came back both elephants had drunk their fill. They looked perkier and Kato was walking around them and checking for injuries. "Trap," he said eventually. "She got stuck in some sort of trap so she limps. She was probably too slow for the rest of the herd so they were forced to leave her. Her calf wouldn't leave her mother so here they are." He moved down and touched the wound, cleaning it out. The cow seemed a little restless as he worked, but once he was finished she started walking around triumphantly. "Feeling better?" Kato asked. "That's good. How about we start heading for a nice place for you to stay?" He looked over at Ralis and Laurina. "Lead the way," he said.

The four of them had to keep a decent pace once the elephants got going. The little calf now watered and having eaten a bit seemed playful. Her mother made a noise that could easily have said 'calm down'. Kato laughed as he patted the mother's flank. "Younglings am I right," he said in Tamrielic and the elephant reached over and ran her trunk through his hair.

"They seem to like you," Laurina said. "Are you still using magic to keep them calm?"

Kato shook his head. "No, since elephants are quite intelligent there is no need to calm them now that they know we want to help," he said.

"Could you teach me how to give them water?" Draco asked.

"Sure, no problem," Kato said.

They watered the elephants twice more before bedtime. It took Draco a bit of practice to manage, but the second time he had gotten it down and was happily giving water to the calf. "Won't they get used to receiving help," he asked the others as the calf drank.

"Elephants are smart enough that they understand that we're helping them," Laurina said. "They should be fine though."

"The calf might become more inclined to seek out human help if a situation calls for it as she grows up, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing," Ralis said

"We should leave them as soon as they can make it without us though," Laurina said. "We certainly don't want them to become dependent on us."

After the elephants had been watered and everyone had eaten they went to bed. The tent was rather small, but they all fit and their collective body heat was enough to withstand the cold of night.

20th of August, 1997.

The elephants seemed restless as they passed some trees.

An angry voice rang through the still morning air. Beyond the trees a group of young men became visible. They wore traditional clothes and carried spears.

Laurina walked forward with her hands held out in a sign of peace. She spoke to them for a little while. Her voice was soft and calm. She didn't want to anger them.

Suddenly, Ralis grimaced. "She is telling them that we have magic," he said. "She had to, but this isn't great." He groaned as Laurina kept talking. "They will ask you for a blessing," he told Kato. "They asked who the most powerful one of us is. You are the obvious answer."

Kato nodded as he moved forward. One of the hunters stepped forward. He spoke and Kato turned to Laurina.

"He is asking for a blessing," Laurina said.

"What do they want?" Kato asked.

Laurina spoke to the hunters. She asked several questions and they answered. Then she turned to Kato. "They are surprised you ask what they want. That isn't usually how things are done around here. They have decided to ask for good fortune in life."

Kato nodded. "I don't know how much I can do," he said. "Drun Muz Pruzah Dez Ko Laas," he said. His voice rose and fell with the magic he cast. A soft green glow moved out over the hunters.

The group of local hunters looked upon Kato in awe. They had heard stories of magic. There were old shamans that some people went to for aid when needed. They had never experienced anything like this before. They bowed deeply.

"They thank you," Laurina said simply. She bowed back before they headed off with the elephants. The calf had been playing with Draco as the others focused on the hunters. She was very playful and happy. A few good drinks had done her good.

"How much further is it?" Draco asked a few hours later. He was glad for the cooling and sunscreen charms he wore. His legs had started hurting, but he wasn't about to stop now.

"Another few hours," Laurin said. "We should probably stop to eat some."

Kato nodded. "Let's get to that hill first," he said. "I can ward it, and we can rest for a bit."

The sun was setting as the group saw a herd of elephants in the distance. They all hoped that this was the right herd. They slowed down and eventually, they fell behind. They didn't want to spook the other elephants.

Kato smiled as the cow they had escorted picked up her pace. Another older elephant walked out of the herd and they greeted each other. This was most likely the matriarch of the herd.

Draco smiled softly as he waved to the little calf. She raised her trunk and waved back before tumbling over to her friends.

The elephants were safe.

"Do you think they will be okay now?" Draco asked.

"They'll do fine," Laurina said. "I told those hunters we met about the trap she must have stepped in. They were going to look it over."

"That's good," Kato said.

They were quiet for a bit then Kato threw up a temporary ward that would keep any human nearby from noticing their sudden disappearance. They appirated back to the caverns leaving the elephants to continue on their way to a water source.

22nd of August, 1997.

Draco was wandering around aimlessly. He knew where it was safe to go, and he couldn't sit still despite the draining run they had been on only two days prior. Kato was helping Rose and Prower understand something or another. Draco hadn't listened. All he had seen was how Rose kept trying to flirt with Kato who didn't seem to notice. Or more likely was just ignoring her advances entirely.

"Hey, Draco!"

Draco turned around at the sound of his name. A man with wild red hair was heading his way. He grinned. "Good afternoon, Charlie," he said.

"Do you know where I should put my things?" Charlie said.

"I guess you can join our tent," Draco said. "I'm sure we can work it out somehow. There are only three rooms but Master and I share the tent with Bill. Someone will be alright with bunking up."

"Bill is out messing with some ward right now, and Kato is trying to explain things to the resident historian and researcher. I think it annoys them that he somehow knows more than they do," Draco said. "Oh, and Qozul is off with Sahqosos who is the leader of the Crystalbacks that live down here."

"You found Crystalbacks! That is amazing," Charlie said. He dropped his bag off by the door.

"Problem is that we can't get to them," Draco said. "Kato wants to find a way to their den if he can, but he doesn't want just anyone to be able to go there."

Charlie chuckled as he sat down by the table. "How have you been doing?" he asked as he ran a hand through his hair.

Draco shrugged. "We found a necromancer some time ago. That wasn't pleasant, but at least Kato knew how to deal with her. We put a ghost to rest by taking their remains outside. That was sad but not as unpleasant. I learnt how to summon my familiar finally," he summarised.

Charlie nodded along as Draco spoke. When he talked about his familiar his face lit up making Charlie smile. "Can I see it?" he asked.

Draco closed his eyes for a moment as he focused his magicka. The air shimmered next to him as Bellue appeared. The dragonfly checked for danger and settled down on Draco's shoulder when it didn't find anything.

"Now that is impressive," Charlie said. He leaned back in the chair. "I wonder if we could learn to do that," he said.

"Not likely," Bill said as he sat down by the table. "Kato tested me a while back. Our family doesn't have it."

"Well," Charlie said with a sigh. "That's a shame I guess." He could tell that Draco seemed to like the news though. He shouldn't be surprised, the guy was a Malfoy. Having magic that few others had would make him a little strutty.

Draco joined the oldest Weasley brothers by the table and together with Bill he filled Charlie in on everything that had happened.

Hours later Kato walked into the tent. He looked tense and seemed irritable. He disappeared into his room without even looking around.

"I better go check on the other end of this," Bill said. He wanted to know if he would have to run any damage control. He disappeared out of the tent leaving Charlie by himself since Draco had already headed back out. He still felt antsy for some reason.

Kato was still in a bad mood when he got back out of his room. His hair was damp and had clean clothes on, but nothing else had changed. He walked up to the small kitchen and started pulling things out. Suddenly a pair of big calloused hands steadied the bowl he was holding, and he looked up into gentle blue eyes. A smile spread over his face melting away the frustration he had been feeling. "Hey," he said. "I didn't know you had arrived."

Charlie shrugged. " I didn't know you were here until I saw Draco. He told me I could stay with you guys. I was thinking…" He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, "well, I hoped… otherwise I'm sure I could bunk up with Bill, but…" he said nervously, never quite finishing his sentences.

Kato chuckled. "You want to stay in my room?" he asked with a teasing smile. He took the bowl from Charlie and walked over to the table. "I guess we could make that happen," he said.

Charlie smiled as he followed Kato with his gaze as Kato moved around the tent to get dinner ready. He took a deep breath before saying, "I've missed you."

Kato stopped for a moment and looked over at Charlie. He lived his life in bursts right now. He had enjoyed his time at the Sanctuary mostly because of Charlie and the dragons. Had he missed Charlie? He guesses now that he had him there with him again that, yes, he had missed him. "I've missed you too," he said.

Charlie smiled. "I want something more with you," he said. Then he ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "I'm not very good at this."

"You want me to be your boyfriend?" Kato asked.

Charlie grimaced. "It's such a childish term," he said.

"But the concept is correct?" Kayo asked in an amused tone.

"Well, yes," Charlie said. "I want a closer relationship with you. I want something serious that hopefully will lead to us sharing the rest of our lives with each other." He had walked up to Kato and reached out for him.

"The timing isn't great," Kato said. "I made sure to call you in here so you could take over from me when I have to leave in about a week. I… I would love to see where our relationship could lead, but I'm going to have to put it on hold or at least make it a distance relationship."

Charlie looked a little crestfallen. Kato hadn't said no, but he hadn't said yes either. He had hoped that they could work together and get to know each other better down in the caverns. It hadn't occurred to him that he was replacing Kato. It should have.

"Maybe you should tell Charlie why you have to leave," Bill said from the tent entrance. "I think it is about time he got to know."

Kato looked over at Bill. He wondered how long Charlie's big brother had listened to them. Not that they had said anything he had a problem with Bill knowing. He just didn't like that he hadn't noticed Bill arriving. He should have known.

"What is he talking about?" Charlie asked. He looked from Bill to Kato. So Bill knew something about Kato that he now wanted Kato to tell him. It was strange. He watched Kato shift like he was uncomfortable, yet he didn't seem to mind Bill's demand at all.

"You better keep Draco busy then," Kato told Bill. "I'm not ready for him to know."

Bill nodded. "I'll find something for us to do," he said. He turned around and headed back out. He had never seen Charlie so affected by something someone else said to him before. He certainly hoped that they could work this out.

Kato sighed as Bill walked out. "This is a bit of a complicated story. There are some simple revelations," he said as he took off the earrings that held his glamour. His hair turned black and his eyes turned green. His facial features sharpened slightly. "Followed by some very complicated explanations."

Charlie looked the man in front of him over. He looked familiar. Sure he still looked somewhat like Kato, but now with the black and green he also looked like someone else. Then it hit him. This was Ron's friend… or former friend. This was Harry Potter. "How?" he asked as he folded his arms over his chest.

Harry chuckled. "Well," he said. "It all started with the dragons that you guys brought to Hogwarts." He delved into the story of his life in Skyrim. He knew it sounded fantastical so he did invite Charlie to see his memories much like he had done with most other people he had told before Charlie.

By the end of the story, Charlie was sitting with his head in his hands leaning over the table. "Your life is insane," he said. He looked up at Kato. "How old are you?" he asked.

"Worried about my age are you?" Harry said while smirking. "I spent six years in Skyrim," he said. "I came back twenty-years-old. That was about three years ago. So I guess I'm twenty-three."

"That isn't what other people will see though," Charlie said. They will see the eight-year age gap. Unless you were planning on becoming Kato forever, but I guess you wouldn't be going to school in that case."

"We're magical," Harry said. "Seven years is nothing. Bill and Fleur have almost the same age gap between them and no one looks at that funny." He certainly was hoping that Charlie wasn't second-guessing this because of perceived age. "I could also point out that my last girlfriend was a whopping two-hundred and like forty something years older than me. Age isn't an important factor for me."

"Rhavaniel," Charlie said. "If you could get back together with her, would you?"

"As of right this moment, yes," Harry said. "In a year or two if we get together, then no. I'm not that floaty. I love Rhavaniel. If I got into a monogamous relationship with anyone. I wouldn't leave them just because Rhavaniel showed up, and I know she would be alright with that. She had important relationships before me. I assume that she will have plenty even after I'm dead. I'm loyal to the person I'm with. Rhavaniel wanted to mess around with others so that was what we did, and I didn't mind at all. You don't want that and I'm fine with that too. If you feel insecure about something pertaining to me, just ask me. I will answer."

"Do you have an interest in Draco?" Charlie asked. "The two of you are growing closer. I can tell."

"No," Harry said. "I care for him. I have no interest in a love relationship with him. He is my apprentice. We might have to play the Dark Lord at some point, but only if he feels comfortable doing so."

Charlie shook his head. "Bill knows all of this," he stated. "He is okay with all of this." He looked over at Harry again. "Can I talk to him about this?" he asked.

"If you throw up some protection so no one overhears you. I will also say that Fred and George know parts of the story. Several of my friends know as well. I have a group of people who know and are more or less fine with it. I'm sure several of them question some of the things I have done. I lived in a different type of world for a long time. Sometimes my solutions are a little direct in a world that doesn't quite allow for that," Harry said. "But you can talk to any of them. I don't mind."

Charlie nodded. He knew he would have to think about all of this. He wanted to talk to Bill yet he didn't want to lose Kato or rather Harry.

Bill walked into the tent. "You have five," he said.

Harry put the earrings back in before Draco walked into the tent then he served up supper for everyone.

After they had eaten Kato sat down with Draco to teach him more dragon tongue while Charlie and Bill disappeared into Bill's room. "You wanted to talk to me," Bill said as he sat down on his bed.

Charlie nodded. "Kato is Harry Potter," he said. "He was Ron's best friend. He is born the same year as Ron."

"Does any of that matter?" Bill asked. "Kato and Harry are the same person. Kato is actually more real as far as his personality is concerned. He has to pretend at Hogwarts at least to a certain extent. He can't act too different from what people would expect from Harry Potter."

"That is crazy," Charlie said. "Why would he live like that?"

"Because he cares," Bill said. "He cares about his old friends. He cares about what people think about him at least to a point. He wants to help people, especially people he cares about. He can do that more easily from Hogwarts than anywhere else. He is Headboy and Captain of the Quidditch team this year. He has built a strong team with good connections. If the other houses don't follow in his footsteps they will never beat Gryffindor again."

Charlie chuckled. "Teams will look to him," he said. "He won't take them up on it though."

Bill shook his head. "He doesn't want to work with Quidditch," he said. "If you can't handle who he is then back away now. Kato is a warrior. He is going to throw himself into danger. He is going to try to help people. If you can't stand that, then walk away."

"I really like him," Charlie said.

"If you like Kato then you like the person he is. Does his hair and eye colour matter to you?" Bill asked.

Charlie shook his head. "Not at all," he said. He chuckled. "I'm being silly," he said.

"You were shocked," Bill said. He leaned back and smirked at his brother. "Now the question is; can you survive him being in Hogwarts for a year while you are here? You'll see him around Christmas and the wedding. You are my best man. Fleur got Kato and two of her best friends are leading her in. I have you. Though I was considering asking Percy and Fred and George as well."

"An army of redheads," Charlie said before he started laughing. Then they talked for a while about other less important things.

Charlie left his brother's room rather late. The rest of the tent was dark. He was hoping that Kato was still up. He pushed the tent flap aside slowly. His bag was lying next to the bed side by side with Kato's backpack.

Kato was sitting with a book in his lap. "Have you made up your mind yet?" he asked.

"I have," Charlie said. "I've decided that I don't care. I don't care if you are Kato or Harry. I don't care that you might see the world differently. I'm happy to see if we work together in something more serious. I don't want to end this based on things outside of your control. I'm glad you told me." He sat down next to Kato. "Thank you."

Kato placed his book aside and moved forward. "How about we get to bed. It is late and I want to look for dragons tomorrow," he said. Charlie pulled his clothes off before climbing into bed next to Kato. He sighed happily as he relaxed.

23rd of August, 1997.

To Charlie, it felt like he had barely closed his eyes before he felt Kato getting out of bed. He groaned and rolled over into the warmth that Kato had left behind as he heard how the shower started.

As Charlie came to sometime later, he could hear Kato and Bill talking in the kitchen. The smell of food and coffee reached him and he rolled out of bed. He rubbed his eyes and yawned as he stumbled over to his clothes. He pulled his pants on and headed out of Kato's room. He yawned wide as he dropped into one of the chairs.

Kato placed a plate down in front of him and prepared his coffee.

"You shouldn't spoil him like that," Bill commented.

Charlie tried to kick Bill to shut him up. It was nice being cared for. It was especially nice without his mother's voice cutting through the silence.

"How none of you is a morning person is beyond me," Kato said as Draco joined the Weasleys. He placed a plate in front of Draco and went to fetch some tea.

Bill shook his head. He was surprised that Kato was just serving everyone. He had seen him teaching Draco how to cook though. It had almost made him laugh. He doubted that the Malfoys usually knew how to cook. He guessed Kato's family had instilled him with a wish to care for others in a way. As he understood it, however, they had made their meals together. He yawned. He was reading too much into this.

Kato headed out to speak with General Rourk as the other three got ready for the day. When they found him later he was sitting by the lake with Qozul in his lap and another dragon with crimson-red scales sat next to them. "This is Yolfronin," Kato introduced Charlie.

"Zu'u zin, I'm honoured to meet you," Charlie told the crimson dragon.

Sahqosos blinked slowly before moving up to Charlie as the human knelt. He sniffed Charlie's hands. "You want to find our pools," he said. "The path has been blocked. You found ancestors that were hurt badly by humans. We do not want that to happen again."

"We can make it so that only the four of us can approach," Kato said.

Sahqosos watched the four for a long time.

"The young ones want to leave," Qozul said. "They need to get to know Krinahkro. They want to see the sun. They want to travel and see the world."

"That would be very dangerous for them, Qozul," Kato said. "We could possibly train a couple of people. Charlie, Draco and I could bring dragons with us as we travel, but there aren't that many people who could."

"Monah could teach more," Qozul said.

Kato chuckled. "I guess we could do that," he said. "I can't just bring dragons with me though," he said. "I have to make sure no one would take you away from me."

"You could get the ball running," Bill said as Draco finished translating.

"I could and I will," Kato said. He laughed. "A Dragon Sanctuary at Ennerdale. I guess I like that."

Charlie smiled. He would love a small reserve with Crystalbacks. Maybe they could find some more small dragons as well. That could be really nice.

Sahqosos seemed to make up his mind. "How would you find our pools?" he asked.

"I can place magic that tracks you," Kato said. Then I can use another bit of magic that should show me a possible path to you. It might not work, but it is worth a try."

"Cast your magic, Krinahkro," Sahqosos said. "Qozul and I will fly to our pools."

Kato smiled as he placed a tracker each on the dragons. Hopefully, he could force clairvoyance past rubble and other things they could get past. He gave the dragons about half an hour to get to the pools before he activated the spell with his very exact wishes in mind. A blue streak moved out in front of him down into the water. "Looks like we might have to swim," Kato said. "Let's go change." He turned around and headed back to their tent.

Ten minutes later they were back in front of the lake and ready to dive in. Kato put his mask on as he made sure his companions had a good hold on their bubblehead charms. He dived in and lit a candlelight orb. The blue streak led into a narrow corridor forcing them to swim single file. A flat smooth stone blocked their way suddenly. Kato grabbed his light orb and held it up against the stone. Runes lined the edge. They weren't dragon runes though. Kato's eyes narrowed as he slowly deciphered the Daedric script set in the stone. It didn't bode well to find runes like them anywhere on Earth. He hoped no Prince was connected to this place. He pressed his hand against the stone and placed a frost rune before moving back slightly. It would have been easier to open this path if it had been above water. He charged magic in his hands and pressed them against the trap. The stone glowed and cracked into several pieces before moving out of their way.

"That was a mess," Charlie said as they finally reached the surface. "I'm glad we had a guide through all those tunnels. It would have taken forever to map it all out."

"Guess what you and I are going to do once these guys have left," Bill said.

Charlie sighed. "I had a feeling you would say that," he said.

"Just remember to check the water before every time you go in," Kato said. He looked around the small cave they had ended up in. He was glad that he'd chosen to bring food with him this time too. He had a feeling it might take them a while to get to the dragons.

The cave gave way to a tunnel that led out to a large room with a deep drop down into something steaming below. Kato moved ahead to a thin ledge that moved along the gap. He walked across quickly while the others followed at a more leisurely pace. As they turned a corner in the next tunnel, light could be seen streaming in from the next room. It was blue in colour so they knew it wasn't sunlight.

Pools of clear water flowed from one to the next. All around was some kind of crystal that emitted light. While the pools were beautiful and the crystals wondrous, it was the hundreds of colourful dragons that truly caught their eyes.

Kato walked forward slowly. Crystalbacks were a rare breed that lived together and flourished that way. Most dragons didn't want to live close quarters, but Crystalbacks didn't seem to mind at all.

The dragons had noticed them now and quite a few were circling curiously. "Drem yol lok," Kato greeted them. "Zu'u Krinahkro. Zu'u Dovahkiin. I come to you in peace." He turned slightly and introduced the other three as well then he sat down. He would let the dragons come to him. "Bill pair up with someone. Charlie and Draco spread out a little then seat yourselves. Let's see what these guys might like to know," he said.

It didn't take long for several dragons to fly down and land in front of Kato. "You are the one Qozul calls Monah," one of the dragons said. Their silver scales gleamed brightly and they had a streak of purple going from their head down their body until it enveloped their tail.

"I am, yes," Kato said.

"Qozul has told us much of the outside world. We want to travel. Zu'u Kaanaaz by the way. Qozul admires my scales," Kaanaaz said.

Kato smiled. "I would love it if we could let you travel as you wish," he said. "However, jun, humans will hunt and hurt your kind. They find your scales beautiful and wish to gain standing in their packs by wearing them." He could tell that the dragons were upset by his words. "If you would like, we could set up a safe place for you out in the sun. I could carry one of you with me. Kahsotvah and Yolfronin could do the same. We could teach others and they could do it too. It will take time though."

Kaanaaz seemed to stare into the distance for a moment. "You wish to keep us safe?" she said.

"That is right," Kato said. "Though travelling with me could be dangerous." He smiled as the dragons started speaking with each other. He looked up as Qozul came flying over.

"Many of them want to leave but not all," Qozul said.

Kato nodded as he rubbed Qozul's neck. "Could you stay with Charlie and help him here? I'm just going back like always this year. The dragons here could use your help and Charlie knows you quite well too."

Qozul nodded slowly. "Qozul could," he said.

"Would it bother you if I brought another dragon with me?" Kato asked.

"Krinahkro is Qozul's monah," Qozul stated.

Kato smiled and nodded. "That is true," he said. "That won't change."

Qozul walked over to Kaanaaz and bumped her. They curled up together. "Qozul can stay here and help," he said. "Monah better come back."

"Or Yolfronin will bring you to me," Kato said. He looked over at Draco, who was surrounded by colourful dragons. He laughed as one of them settled down in Draco's lap. The Crystalbacks were very friendly… and chatty.

Bill met his gaze as he looked over at him. He signalled that maybe it was time to leave and Kato nodded.

Over the next few days, they worked on opening up a secondary path to the dragons. It was warded tight so only the four of them could enter that way.

29th of August, 1997.

Kato was sitting with the dragons early that morning. He had asked them to figure out which two were going with him and Draco. He had already gotten permission for Draco to carry a Crystalback with him. In the end, two fairly young dragons who wanted to have their first hatchlings soon were the ones to come with them. They wanted the adventure before they settled down.

So little Yolliz was going with Draco and Golrii was going to spend a year with Harry. At least that is what Kato told Draco as he came back with them.

"Potter knows dragon tongue?" Draco asked.

"Is it that surprising?" Kato asked. "He is my little cousin. I have taught him. Maybe not as intensely as I have trained you, but he knows some magicka, and he knows how to speak to dragons."

Draco sighed. "They are a pair. You're going to force me to interact with Potter," he said.

"Well, you might have to spend some time together at least," Kato said.

Draco sighed as he walked back into the tent with Yolliz perched on his shoulder. He guessed he was going to have to stand Saint Potter for a year.

Charlie looked after Draco with an amused look on his face. "Someday," he said as he looked over at Kato.

"In the future," Kato said. He walked up to Charlie and kissed him. "I'll miss you," he said. "I'll write. It probably won't be that interesting. It is just school after all."

"From what I have heard your years at Hogwarts are far from boring," Charlie said as he wrapped his arms around Kato. "I guess I'll see you at the wedding at least," he said.

"You can stay with me," Kato said. "We have room especially since you won't be taking up your own. Bill and Fleur will be staying with us as well as her family."

Charlie smiled and hugged him tighter. He saw Draco come walking back out of the tent. "I guess you are going to head off now?" he said. "See you around Christmas."

Kato kissed Charlie before saying goodbye he grabbed Draco's shoulder and waved goodbye to Bill. They headed back to the main camp in Egypt then from there they took a portkey to Gringotts in Britain where Kato made sure they had all the documentation they needed as well as Draco's payment for his involvement.

Then he took Draco home.
