Chapter 2: Test of the Leaf

Musket looked at his two opponents as they waited for him to make the first move. Unlike his first fight however he now realized he can't wait to see what they're capable of without suffering the consequences.

Musket immediately clapped his hands on the ground as large veins pop and try to ensnare Minato and Fugaku who are able to jump out of the way of the thorny vines before Fugaku starts to weave hand signs and yelling out "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" as a giant fireball comes out of his mouth hurtling towards Musket who immediately starts to sweat at the flaming orb of death before he then remembers a move in his arsenal that could save him as he wipes the sweat from his forehead and once again slamming his hand on the ground before a giant wall of water erupts in front of him blocking the fireball with a loud hiss of steam.

'Damn that was close!' Musket thought before realizing he can't see Minato as one of his signature three pronged kunai lands next to him before said blond then suddenly teleports next to Musket with an orange ball of energy in his hands.

"Rasengan!"

With a painful crack Musket was sent flying as he felt two of his ribs snap from the blow.

Although painful, Musket could tell that hit missed thanks to Musket's reflexes but even a miss like that would be deadly to most. Musket knew that if he didn't do something about Minato's teleportation he would most likely die from another hit.

"Damn, that one hurt. Looks like I'll have to focus if I'm gonna survive." Musket let out a cough as he saw blood land on the ground 'Shit not good.' Before he could do anything he heard a blast of fire before looking up to see another fireball coming towards him at an even faster speed than before.

'Not good.'

With a wave of his hand the water wall changed form to become a dome to stop the fire from reaching him as another hiss could be heard around the battlefield.

Looking at the steam cloud Minato and Fugaku both wondered if the attack did any damage before than having to jump out of the way of a tentacle of water as it tried to grab Fugaku but thanks to his now red eyes he seemed to be able to see the attack as if it was in slow motion as

he performed another round of hand signs but before he could finish he starts to feel his hands become stiff as he starts to feel the area around him become cold as ice started to form around his hands and around his body as he fell to the ground unable to feel his fingers in the ice.

Minato who had teleported to a tree 40 feet away could see that an area around Musket had started to form with ice around him in a cone of about 30 feet in diameter and Fugaku was in the cone and was beginning to have ice form around him, but just as soon as it was formed the ice stopped and Musket looked at Minato with a cocky smile before suddenly disappearing as if he was made of smoke when Minato suddenly realized what was about to happen as he heard the buzzing of electricity behind him as he turned around to see Musket with lightning in his hand, before just dodging out of the way of the attack.

Minato continued to dodge Musket's lightning hands before throwing a kunai to his left and teleporting away. Musket seeing this looked at the kunai only to see that Minato hadn't teleported to the kunai he threw before feeling killing intent behind himself were teleported away from the kunai that would have slashed the back of his neck.

Minato decided to go help Fugaku out of the ice using his kunai to break it off of him and using a small flame jutsu to melt any ice on his hands so he wouldn't succumb to frostbite.

"He's strong, I'll admit it." Fugaku said when he could feel his hands again. "But we both know he can't beat both of us."

Minato looked at his teammate with a shocked face. "Are you actually asking for help? Who are you? What have you done with Fugaku?"

Fugaku gave the blond a scowl as he hit him on the head. "SHUT UP! Now listen, I have a plan."

Minato nodded and listened to the plan and agreed to it as they both got up and Minato grabbed many of his kunai, throwing them on the battlefield before grabbing Fugaku's shoulder as both men teleported away.

Musket seeing this knew that the field was now a minefield that could lead to his end before realizing that neither of them were in the field and knew he would be attacked very soon if he didn't move.

At that moment three kunai came towards him as he jumped out of the way. Big mistake.

Fugaku had suddenly appeared behind him thanks to Minato as he launched a few fireballs at Musket as Minato teleported away only to now be in front of Musket unleashing three lightning chakra kunai from his hands.

Musket in that split second realized they were trying to box him in and knew he had to do something.

In that moment a giant hand of energy blocked the fireballs as the kunai stabbed into Musket, one in his left arm and two in his right leg, before he fell to the ground but was luckily caught by the hand with it slowly floating him to the ground.

Minato and Fugaku landed and in that moment ran to Musket, Minato with a Rasengan and Fugaku with a flaming hand, "Fire Style: Flaming Claws Vengeance!"

Musket had pulled out the kunai before his right arm gained a black shine as lightning sparked around his arm as he ran towards Minato and the hand in a fist moving towards Fugaku.

Fugaku and the hand clashed with Fugaku being sent flying towards a tree with a thud before dodging another hit but then saw it suddenly disappear. "Hold on a second. This isn't right. That move only hit two attacks, why would it…" Fugaku looked at Minato only to see, thanks to his eyes, that Musket seemed to be shimmering a little. "Minato look out!"

Minato in that instant had heard Fugaku and in a yellow flash was at one of the kunai Musket had thrown away as Musket suddenly disappeared before Minato noticed a shine at his feet as the kunai he was beside had a weird looking, glowing glyph on it before an explosion launched him away into the field with Fugaku running out of the forest knowing he wouldn't be able to defeat his opponent alone.

Musket looked at the two realizing as long as he could separate them he could win but knew he couldn't do it in the field. Or could he?

Minato got up in a daze seeing Fugaku running to him as he looked at the forest behind him wondering how he had been tricked like that. "I don't think throwing my kunai at him will be a good idea. He made one of them have some sort of marking on it that exploded in my face."

"Yeah I noticed. What should we do now?"

"I have an idea but the problem is like your plan we need him in the field so we might not be able to…"

"So, we gonna end this or what!" Musket yelled at the edge of the field.

"Well that was easy." Minato looked at Fugaku as they both got up to get ready to end this fight."

The three men looked at each other before Fugaku looked into Musket's eyes as he suddenly felt all his strength fail out of him as he fell to the ground prone. Minato looked at Fugaku seeing he wasn't able to get up and now knew he had to end this now as he closed his eyes and red marks appeared under his eyes. 'I don't have much time to use this so I need to act fast.'

Musket seeing Minato's eyes decided he needed to end this now as his feet suddenly burst into flames as he rocketed forward while his right arm shined black and lightning flickered to life on it.

Minato ran at Musket with a Rasengan in his hands.

Both men ran towards each other with their moves in their hands as they both got within a few millimeters of each other before vanishing, switching places with each other as their moves clashed.

Both moves roared out with the air around them blowing many of the trees close to them burst out from their roots.

The two tried their best to overpower each other looking into the other's eyes.

At that moment the pigment under Minato's eyes started to fade and in that moment Musket took his chance as the lightning around his arm sparked to life as it was shaped into that of a dragon that started to advance on the two of them.

Minato looked at the lightning dragon coming toward him before he decided to use the last of the power he had left as his Rasengan grew to a gigantic size. "Sage Art: Big Ball Rasengan!"

At the same time the lightning dragon crashed into the Rasengan with a giant explosion erupting around the two of them. "Dragon Lightning Lariat!"

Hours Later

Musket woke up on the grassy ground looking around to see Minato looking at him with a smile on his face.

"So how was the nap?" Minato asked while smirking at him while the others stood around him but giving him some space.

"How long was I out?"

Hiruzen spoke up "2 hours. Fugaku was out for 10 minutes and Minato was out for 30 minutes. Honestly if this was a mission and none of you had us it would probably be true that at least you two could have died." he pointed to Minato and Musket who both gave shy smiles. "Although I'm very impressed with you. You were able to tie with 2 of our best. Although you did break the rules."

"What do you mean?" Musket was confused at what the old man had said "I didn't use any of my first abilities."

Kushina spoke up upon hearing this "Yes you did. You used that black shiny thing with your arms when you used that last move."

Musket looked at her for a second before remembering his final move. "Oh man, you're right. I didn't even realize I did that. Looks like I finally mastered it."

Everyone looked at him in confusion upon hearing that as Minato spoke up. "What do you mean you mastered it?"

Musket looked at the man as he began to explain. "Well yeah. You see, the move I used was a modified version of an old friend but since I can't use his version since I'm not as naturally durable as he is I had to modify it and the one I used was an upgraded version of it that uses lightning for it.

Minato curled an eyebrow upon hearing this. "Oh really now. He must have been really strong if he could do that without any help from hardening his body. What was it called again?"

"His was called Allo Lariat and all the variants that he made with them while mine is called Drago Lariat likewise."

Tsume looked at him and then to his living weapon which was beside him licking him like a dog to its owner before then smiling. "I see you like dragons, huh."

Musket gave an emberoused smile to Tsume. "Yeah I guess you could say that."

Everyone laughed at this before Hiruzen spoke up. "Well I guess I will let that slide and the other time you did it was an illusion so you technically didn't cheat that time either. Honestly I'm very impressed and just have to say one thing. Welcome to Konoha as a shinobi of the Land of Fire." Hiruzen handed him a headband with the Konoha symbol on it as he helped Musket up to his feet. "Now then I'll send an ANBU to you tomorrow so that I can inform you more about your responsibilities and rank. I will have an apartment be ready for you until you can afford a home for yourself." and with that he disappeared in a gust of leaves.

"Alright! Well I'm hungry, let's go get my favorite, Dattebane!" Kushina said in excitement.

"Ramen again? Man you need to eat more things then that." Tsume said with a smirk

"What are you talking about? Ramen is the food of the gods. Nothing is better than that. Besides, it's my treat." she said with an evil smile.

"Don't you mean my treat? You always somehow make me pay for ramen when we get it." Minato said with a frown.

"Oh come on, I don't always make you pay."

"Yes you do." Tsume spoke up "You make everyone do it. You even made Fugaku do it one time. Seriously, how did she even do that?"

Fugaku looked at her with a very embarrassed look before trying, unsuccessfully, to put his straight face back on. "Please don't ask."

All the others laughed at this before Musket spoke up. "Well have fun then and thanks for all the help." as he turned around to leave before a hand fell on his shoulder as he turned to see Kushina with a large grin. "Where do you think you're going? You're coming too."

Musket looked at her confused at this. "Why, none of you even know me? I mean we all just meet."

Kushina's smile grew even more when hearing this. "That's why you're going. Otherwise we'll never know each other."

Musket looked at the others who gave him smiles, even Fugaku gave a slight smirk, as he smiled at them as he left with the others.

The Next Day

Musket was in his hotel room bed snoring loud enough that the whole village could hear and was dreaming about the night before with an extended belly filled with some of the best food he ever had.

Flashback

Musket had made it to the ramen stand that Kushina had wanted to go to, a small stand named Ichiraku Ramen that was owned by a nice and understanding man named Teuchi that welcomed everyone who came in.

"Welcome back Kushina. How have you been?"

"Good old man, as always. Oh and we brought a guest." Kushina turned to Musket who had just entered the small stand through the flaps at the entrance.

"Well hello there. If you're a friend of Kushina, you're welcome here any time." Teuchi said with a kind smile as everyone sat down. "So what would you like?"

Musket looked at the menu while Kushina gave some of her own recommendations.

"Shrimp ramen huh? That sounds pretty good actually."

"I know right! It's one of my favorites, though the chicken is pretty good too. Oh, and the beef too!"

"Kushina I think he already chose, don't you think maybe you should just stop before you confuse him?" Minato asked her when he saw that Musket was starting to get overwhelmed by her suggestions.

"Hey, I'm just trying to help."

"No, it's fine. You're excited I get it."

"Well yeah! Why wouldn't I be? It is the greatest food to ever be made."

Musket chuckled at this as they all placed their orders and talked to one another while waiting for their food.

"So Musket where are you from anyway?" Tsume asked while drinking some tea she had ordered.

"Well let's just say that's a little complicated to say the least. But I can definitely say I'm not from this continent. Heck as you all heard I don't even have chakra so I can't even say I'm from this planet."

Everyone looked at him as if he was crazy before remembering that he was right and remembered that Fugaku had seen no trace of chakra on him and they realized he may have actually been from some far off world, as crazy as that sounds.

"This is weird." Tsume said with a frown.

"You're telling me." Musket said before tasting some of the tea he ordered. "Hm, not bad."

The ramen was brought to the bar as everyone ate with Kushina seemingly inhaling it with everyone seemingly not even noticing but Musket clearly looked terrified at the sight in front of him before looking at Minato who shrugged and continued to eat like nothing wrong was happening.

Just as Musket was about to taste his ramen he heard an angry voice from behind as he looked to see Fugaku with a face of pure terror.

"I thought you had a mission!"

"I can explain." Fugaku said in a high pitched wail.

Kushina had turned around at this point with some long noodles hanging out of her mouth before smiling at her old friend. "Hey Mikoto!"

At this point Musket had turned around as well to see a fair-skinned woman with black straight hair, with two bangs on the side of her face similar to Kushina, and black eyes, in a dark purple shirt and brown blouse with an expression on her face of pour rage while holding a small boy no older than 4.

"I thought you said you were on a mission!" Mikoto repeated while still looking at Fugaku.

"Well we just finished. Sorry I didn't tell you. Kushina brought us here once we got finished."

Mikoto looked at Kushina with a hurt face upon hearing this. "Why didn't you tell me? Just because I have a baby doesn't mean I can't hang out with you anymore."

Kushina gave a sheepish look at seeing her friend's hurt expression. "Hey that isn't true, I mean Tsume's here."

"Don't pull me into this!" Tsume yelled to her redheaded friend.

Kushina was trying her best to not get pulverized by her best friends before Mikoto heard a small voice in her arms ask her a question.

"Hey aunt Kushina, who's that?" the small boy in Mikoto's arms asked while pointing to Musket.

Mikoto had heard her son and looked at the person he was pointing to as she looked at someone she didn't recognize. "Who's that?" Mikoto asked Kushina who she was currently holding the collar of their shirt with her free hand.

Kushina looked to Musket before realizing she had a way out of her current situation. "This is the guy we had to test for our mission. Mikoto meet Musket. Musket, this is Mikoto and this little one here is her son Itachi." Kushina pointed to Mikoto, who let go of her to wave to Musket, as she then ruffled Itachi's hair while introducing him to Musket.

"Oh, uh. Hello. Nice to meet you. I'm guessing you're related to Fugaku over there seeing how you yelled at him."

Mikoto chuckled when he said that before answering him. "Yes, he's my husband."

"Wait really? Honestly, I thought you were single." Musket looked to Fugaku upon hearing this news.

Fugaku's scowl came back upon hearing this. "Why did you think I was single?"

"Sorry, you just look like someone who wouldn't care for the whole family life thing, you know."

Everyone chuckled upon hearing this as Mikoto spoke up. "Well he wasn't the biggest fan at first seeing he was a little of a party animal when we were younger but when we had this little one he seemed to change his mind about it." she patted Itachi's head while explaining to Musket.

"Ah I see. Well good for you two then."

"Thanks. Now where was I? Oh yeah now I remember." Mikoto gave Itachi to Minato who turned his stool so the young boy wouldn't see the carnage that was about to unfold before she grabbed Kushina and Fugaku by the collars and taking them out of the stand to an ally on the side of the small building as all that could be heard was the screams of two small school girls before coming back out and sitting next to Tsume and ordering a bowl of pork ramen and smiling at Itachi who was eating some of the ramen Minato had given him. She then looked to Musket who was looking in the direction Fugaku and Kushina had supposedly been horribly maimed.

"Oh don't worry about them, they're fine." She said with a slight smile. "So you gonna eat that cause he's been staring at your bowl for a little bit now." she said while pointing to Musket's side.

Musket turned to see Itach staring at his bowl as he finally remembered the ramen he ordered and took a slurp of his noodles.

Musket immediately stopped moving as his bangs moved over and shadowed his eyes.

Everyone around him looked concerned before they were shocked out of their daze as Musket scarfed down the bowl and slammed it on the counter as he asked for another bowl.

Teuchi smiled at this before going to make another bowl. "Looks like we got another Kushina, huh Minato." he smiled at Minato who laughed at the older man's joke.

"This won't be good for me will it."

"What won't be good for you?" Kushina asked as she and Fugaku came back to the stand.

Kushina looked at the stand as she then saw Musket and his eight empty bowls. "Oh no you don't." Kushina immediately sat down and ordered even more bowls to stop Musket from out eating her.

Minato looked at the two as they scarfed down almost 17 bowls in less than 30 seconds.

After 6 more bowls they both collapsed on the counter and both groaned in pain.

"I win." Musket said with a noodle sticking out of his nose.

"NO I WON!" Kushina yelled out before blacking out.

Minato laughed at the two as he and Itachi looked to Mikoto who had 27 empty bowls and not even a look of exhaustion on her face.

Flashback end

Musket looked at the ceiling with a look of sadness on his face.

"Damn it. How did she even do that? She didn't even look full."

Upon saying this he heard a knock at the door as a voice came from the other side.

"Sir Musket? I'm here to bring you to the Hokage's office.

"Alright give me a sec." Musket got up and got to the door to open it as he saw a masked man standing at the door before they grabbed his shoulder as they both vanished in a gust of leaves.

Hokage Office

In the Hokage's office Hiruzen is continuing to look at his old enemy, paperwork.

"I'm getting too old for this damn it. Why can't this ever get any easier."

Hiruzen was about to start on his first paper before two people came into the room in a gust of leaves.

"Oh there you are. Thank you hawk."

The Anbu bowed before disappearing as Hiruzen looked to Musket.

"So I see you had fun last night." Hiruzen said with a smile.

Musket rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah I guess you could say that huh."

Hiruzen chuckled before putting on a serious face as he looked at Musket. "Ok, well now let me explain your rank. Now usually someone like you would be recommended to Jonin, the highest rank one can normally become in this business, however none have been made this rank without at least some amount of chakra control. However, since you have abilities that resemble abilities that use chakra I believe I can make a compromise. You see there is a rank for special cases like you. It's called Tokubetsu Jonin, it's used for those who have the potential to become Jonin but only in certain skills while the rest of their skills are those of Chunin. Now this doesn't mean you will be considered less than a Jonin and in fact you have many of the privileges of a Jonin."

"Ok then. That seems understandable considering my condition. Is that all sir?"

"Well actually there is another thing to talk to you about. While it isn't crucial for Tokubetsu Jonin to train a team, some do but since it isn't a requirement you won't have to worry about it for now but I will talk to you about it later on in your career."

"Alright then. So do I have a mission yet or will I have to wait for a bit?"

"Actually I do have a mission for you. Now usually you would just come to me to get a mission if I don't call you for one but right now the mission I'm sending you on is to teach you how they can work. Speaking of which, your teammate should be here right about…"

On que a knock on the door was heard as Hiruzen called them in to have Minato step into the room.

"Well look at that. It's been so long man, how have you been?" Minato asked with a slight smirk.

"Oh hey nice to see you too. Wow, I haven't seen you in 12 hours, right?" Musket gave a smirk to Minato.

"I think so. Man does time fly." Minato looked to Hiruzen "So what do you want me to do lord third? I do have to train my team in an hour so if I need to I can call off training for today."

"Actually your team will be both of your missions for today." he looked at the two men in front of him who had confused looks at what he said before he elaborated. "You see, I want you to watch over Musket and teach him the basics on what sort of responsibilities he has and what he can do as a Tokubetsu Jonin."

Minato nodded as he looked at Musket "Well I guess you're meeting my team already huh? Is that all sir?"

Hiruzen nodded his head as Musket and Minato left his office to go to Minato's team.

Training Ground 7

"Where's Minato sensei already? I even got here before he did." a boy with orange goggles and black hair said while laying on the ground

"Yeah no kidding, I think that's a sign of the apocalypse last time I checked." a girl with brown hair and purple marks on her cheeks sitting next to the boy said with a smirk.

"You know, I think you're right Rin. I'm pretty sure the next thing that will happen is that Kakashi's face is finally revealed to the world." the black haired boy said while looking at a silver haired boy with a face mask who was slumping on a log used for training.

Kakashi didn't say anything as he had his eyes closed as if in thought.

"Why is he so quiet?" the black haired boy asked.

"I don't know." Rin said with a confused look on her face.

In The Forest Surrounding Training Ground 7

"So these are your student's huh?" Musket asked while kneeling on a tree branch at the edge of the training ground.

"Yep. The black haired boy is Obito Uchiha, he's the joker of the group and yet might just be the kindest man I've met in a long time, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have his problems." Minato said while kneeling next to Musket. Musket's eyebrows raised at this, wanting Minato to continue. "He's well known for being extremely late to just about everything and always has an excuse for it, my favorite is he had to help a cat out of a tree and then it attacked him when it did."

Musket was a little confused from that. "Why that one specifically?"

Minato chuckled. "Because the cat he saved was that one demon cat I told you all genin hate so much and he just made the genin on the mission to catch it had to take longer to grab it due to him, when I found out from Kushina we we're dying. But that's not all about him. He's an orphan, he never met his parents and only had his grandmother to take care of him. I think that's why he wants to become Hokage one day, to be acknowledged by others."

"You said he's an Uchiha right?" Musket asked, curious about the name. "Is he related to Fugaku or Mikoto?"

Minato nodded, "Yes, he's in their clan, but the clan see's him as a screw up at best. Luckily Fugaku and Mikoto don't think that about him though so he at least has some allies there. Actually all that is because he's Kushina's favorite of my students, well that and she sees a lot of herself in him."

Musket smirked at that, "Ok then what about the girl."

"She's Rin Nohara. She and Obito have been friends since before they enrolled in the academy. I'd say she's the heart of the team and always seems to be in the middle of Obito and Kakashi's fights. She's also the medic of the team. Unfortunately she's one due to wanting to be like her late father. He died during a mission just before she was born."

Musket nodded to this as he looked to the last of the team. "So the one in the mask must be Kakashi then?"

Minato's smile dropped a little at his last student, thinking of his life and its rough edges. "Yeah, he's the one that's been the hardest to teach my lessons. As a shinobi he may be one of the most gifted, but his past has made it harder for him to care for others. His father was a war hero during the second war but on a mission he decided to prioritize his teammates over the mission and they failed it due to his decision. He was shunned by the village until he committed suicide to regain honer to his family, unfortunately the only one in his family was Kakashi and the day his father died he found the body."

Musket flinched at hearing that. "How old was he?" he asked.

Minato's smile was gone as he thought of what Kakashi has had to go through. "He was seven."

Musket's expression was one of horror, no one deserved that to happen to them let alone a seven year old.

"I always agreed with him actually." Minato said looking at the ground, "You should never leave your team behind, not even for a mission. Unfortunately I think Kakashi took his fathers actions as a sign that he should always be whatever he wasn't. When I first met him he had no one. I knew he was struggling and I couldn't let him just be alone, so I took him in. Technically he's on his own but he stays with me and Kushina at our apartment and I've always been there to help him whenever he needs it. I still remember the first day he stayed. He didn't even talk to me or anyone for that matter. He's always been quiet but he became even more so after I started to take care of him. But he seems to be struggling most in teamwork. And that's what I'd like to see if you could help with.

"I see." Musket said as a devious smile came across his face, "Well then don't mind if I do." he said, cracking his knuckles before slamming his hand on the branch.

Minato became very scared as he noticed what Musket was doing, "Please go easy on them."

Musket's grin grew even more as he looked at Minato, "No promises."

With Team 7

Obito was lying in the grass on his side while he and his team waited for their teacher to appear, wondering the whole time what was taking him so long. Looking around he noticed his teammates had annoyed expressions on their faces that they usually only ever gave him when he was super late. Obito's anger started to grow as he realized his teacher was almost an hour late. Obito decided he had to find out where his sensei is. As he stood up he heard a thud next to him, looking at the cause of the noise he saw a strange looking knife, with a long blade and a hole at the end of the grip that his finger could easily fit inside. Looking to his teammate he saw that they were looking at the knife as well and both looked confused.

Kakashi walked over to the knife, looking around cautiously just in case the owner was about to reveal themself and attack. Just before he picked it up another one of the knives landed to stop his hand from getting any closer, all three jumping away from both as they got into stances to get ready for whatever enemy was nearby.

"Ha ha sensei, very funny. You can come out now." Obito said while looking for his teacher who he hoped was the one doing this.

"I don't think it's sensei Obito." Rin said while trying to find the thrower of the knives.

"W-well who else could it be? No one should be able to even enter the village, right?" Obito asked, worry evident in his voice.

"I don't like this." Kakashi said, trying to get any sort of idea of where the hostile enemy was. Looking through the tree's he noticed the slight gleam of metal as another knife came whizzing towards his head, only just dodging out of the weapons' way. Kakashi now knowing where their attacker was rushed towards the trees, kunai in hand, his teammates following behind.

Just as the group reached the halfway to the trees over a dozen knives came straight for them, the children dodging out of the way as to not be squared. Kakashi recovered first, once again running to their attacker but now without his teammates. Rin and Obito watched Kakashi as they began to recover before Obito noticed something fast coming towards Rin in the opposite

direction of the attacker. Getting to his feet he launched towards Rin, grabbing her and pulling her out of the way of the knife.

Kakashi, not noticing what had just happened to his team, kept running to the tree before catching something out of the corner of his eye, his shinobi training being the only reason he was able to escape from the knife thrown from his left. All of the group now confused as they realized the enemy had thrown from several directions, one of which being on the opposite side of the field. This could only mean one thing, they had been surrounded by multiple enemies.

Musket and Minato's Tree

"Hm, it seems they think they're surrounded." Musket pointed out while watching the group get back to back with one another to watch for the next attack. 'I wonder how surprised they're gonna be when I start trying' a devious smile came across his face as he thought that.

"Well they haven't done that before." Minato said while watching his team. "Maybe I should use this tactic next time I train them."

"Maybe, but then again you can't do this." Musket said, raising his hands into the air, ready for the next part of his training.

With Team 7

The three members of team 7's nerves were now beginning to increase as they waited for their enemy to make a move. As they waited none of them noticed the bayonet that was starting to float in the air behind their backs.

As Obito looked for any sign of movement he noticed something small floating out of the corner of his eye as he turned to see a blade pointed at his face. Obito backed away as the other two looked to see the bayonet floating towards him before Obito began to run away as the bayonet followed him, many others rising from the ground to chase him as he ran past them.

Kakashi looked at his teammate running for his life before dodging another bayonet that had been thrown at his head, looking at where it had been thrown from before noticing nothing. As he turned to see where the one that had been thrown at him landed he instead looked at the bayonet seemingly floating in mid-air, as if time had stopped for it before it turned slowly towards him to point its blade at his face once more. Kakashi brought up his kunai as the bayonet launched towards him. Using his kunai he was able to deflect the attack before then having to now fight the floating knife in a knife fight, Kakashi realizing he wasn't ready for today at all.

Rin looked at her two teammates as she thought of which one to help, noticing Kakashi struggling more than Obito due to Obito's knives keeping a much slower pace than Kakashis'. Going to help her silver haired teammate with one of her own kunai, Rin noticed that any hit either of them tried to land on the knife was blocked almost effortlessly.

Obito was now running from what had to be dozens of bayonets as he tried his best to not become a shish kabob. Obito realized he may only have one way to keep the knives from squaring him as he started the hand signs for his best jutsu. Breathing in deeply he unleashed his fireball jutsu as the bayonets all got flung away from him and landed on the ground with loud thuds. Finally free from his predicament he noticed his other two teammates struggling with a single bayonet, stopping himself from chuckling as he ran in to help kunai in hand.

Rin and Kakashi were growing frustrated with the fact that neither of them could beat a single large knife. Just as the knife went in to seemingly cut Kakashi's head off a kunai was flung at the bayonet, causing it to harmlessly fall to the ground with a thud. Both looked to see who had thrown the kunai hoping to see their sensei, only to see a smug looking Obito standing with a happy smile on his face.

"How did you get away from the other knives." asked Rin looking at her teammate with amazement on her face.

Obito rubbed his nose in satisfaction of his teammate's amazement. "I used my Fireball Jutsu on them.

Kakashi looked at his teammate with an annoyed look before his features turned to that of worry. "Um, are you sure you did the job?"

Obito looked at his teammates with a look of confusion on his face as he saw them both looked worriedly at him. "Yeah, why?" he asked before Rin pointed behind him. Obito turned around to see all the bayonets he had blasted away now floating behind him, terror now creeping into them all as they realized this attack was far from over.

With Musket and Minato

"Well it seems they just realized their predicament they are currently in, wouldn't you say?" Musket asked, looking to Minato.

"Seems so. I wonder how they'll get out of this one." Minato said looking at his students

"Well let's find out." Musket said as he got ready to finally test these kids and their true abilities.

End of Chapter 2

Author's notes: Aaaaand that's it for chapter one and two. I hope you guys liked my first fanfic on this site and I hope you are ready for some more. I have big plans for this story and have many other stories that I'd like to publish as time goes on.

Ok so some context for Musket and the world he's from. So Musket is my pc from a dnd campaign that a friend of mine does and he is currently in my campaign due to both me and my friend combining our campaigns for a story arch that involves his and my players fighting a powerful dark knight that can create portals to other dimensions. Now many of you may have noticed that Musket can use abilities that just don't exist in dnd and that's because he has a homebrew class that my friend made called a Shining Servant. This class was made for our campaign as a fun way to make the most broken characters possible and me and my friend are regretting it to this very day.

Now just so you know this story is nowhere near done yet and I have many plans for the story but just so you know how this story will end up in the Naruto timeline, This story will take place from the middle of the third shinobi world war to right after the Uchiha massacre. The main character

and main focal character will be Musket for most of the story but Naruto and Minato will get their own times to shine on their own.

Now for those of you who want to see more of Musket or even just mine or my friends' campaigns, well I have started to upload them to my YouTube channel, Al-Rex Gaming Party. Yes, it's a stupid name. I made it when I was 14 and I've grown attached T-T. Anyway as I was saying I have only just started uploading the sessions so it will be a while before Musket gets to be seen but I have a small fanbase for the…one session I've uploaded so far so that's good I guess. But with all of that thank you for reading and just know that these updates may only come every once in a while so yeah. Anyway I'm off to start on chapter 3 and may even upload some more of my stories (oh and just so you know that Rose character is getting one of their own stories so get ready for that)
