A/N: Enjoying Wild West Dragon so far? Well, here is the second part! Yeah, Wendy is unable to use her magic as there is no Ethernano in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. That and also it will make the story less interesting. Now then, let's get onto the story then.

Wild West Dragon

Two

Unconventional Stumbling

By 1899, the age of outlaws and gunslingers was at an end.

America was becoming a land of laws...

Even the west had mostly been tamed.

A few gangs still roamed but they were being hunted down and destroyed.

But that doesn't mean some would go down without a few surprises up on their sleeves.

In a campsite somewhere in the wilderness, there were signs of people unloading cargo from their wagons and setting up camp. They weren't ordinary people. They were outlaws. All of them.

They gathered around the most enormous tent as their charismatic leader, Dutch Van Der Linde, had something to say for them. "I know that things have been tough... but we are safe now, and we are far too poor. So it is time for everyone to get to work."

His right-hand man, Hosea Matthews, gave his words to them. "Get to work, but stay out of trouble. Remember, we are itinerant workers."

Now that it has been addressed, Dutch had to give his words of encouragement to them. "Laid off when they shut down our factory to the north. Now, get out there, and see what you can find. Uncle, Reverend Swanson... no more passengers." Hearing this caused some of them to laugh at the drunken Preacher. "

The Second-in-Command then suggested a place where they could find work. "There is a town a little way down the track... name of Valentine... livestock town. All mud and morons if I remember right. That seems a decent place to start."

The camp's cook, Simon Pearson, gave his words to make everyone contribute. "And... we need food... real food... that means every day, one of you."

Their leader entered his tent and walked out while carrying a small box. "And remember, whatever it is that you find..." He places it on top of a nearby barrel. "...the camp gets its slice. Now, be sensible out there—"

A loud cough suddenly interrupted his speech, which he momentarily stopped. As that was over, he then repeated what he had to say. "Like I was saying. Be sensible out there—"

The cough was heard again. This time, it was much closer to camp. Dutch fumed in annoyance as he was interrupted again and looked at his members. "Okay, I have to address this right now. Which amongst you is coughing when I am speaking?"

None of them had spoken and looked at one another, confused that none had been coughing. It was at that time it was heard again. But it was right behind them. All turned around to see who was precisely and were surprised to know it was… "A kid?" Arthur Morgan couldn't believe what he was seeing that a young girl had stumbled upon their camp.

Hosea had the same thought as the other man. "What's a kid doing here? Is she lost?"

Speaking of which, the kid had three noticeable distinctions. One, she had dark blue hair free flowing down to her knees. Two, she was wearing a green dress with crisscross stripes without footwear. The third and final characteristic was a blue tattoo on her right shoulder. From the looks of it, she seemed to be very exhausted as she was walking towards to where the stew was and didn't notice the people looking at her. "Food…" She muttered, using the remaining energy she had left as she swayed back and forth. "I…want…food…need…food…" She swayed forward and collapsed onto the ground, falling face first.

Out of all the people, some rushed as they checked up on the young girl. Charles Smith noted she was, in fact, still alive. "Pulse is still present. Probably, she was just knocked out from being exhausted."

Everyone surrounding the young girl already knew that. Still, Mary-Beth Gaskill was bewildered how a strange kid had to stumble onto their camp. "I still don't get how a kid found our campsite?"

"Maybe she must have been tipped off by someone?" Lenny Summers assumed as he was still looking at the kid.

"Well, that ain't a surprise if she was told." Bill Williamson gruffly commented before looking at the others. "What do you suggest we do?"

Out of all the people, Micah Bell had voiced his suggestion. "I dunno. Perhaps a bullet in her skull would be the best option."

That got him a few glares from some of them. "She's only just a kid, Micah! Are you saying we should kill her!?" Abigail Roberts immediately reminded him.

"It was just my suggestion, dear." Micah immediately said, putting both hands up to protest his innocence.

Despite the questionable advice he had given, some had to agree with him to some extent. "I don't know how should I agree with him, Abigail." John Marston spoke to her. "But look at the marking on her shoulder. Isn't she part of a gang or something?"

Abigail understood her lover's concern. But she didn't like how he agreed with Micah's suggestion. "Are you saying it's okay to kill a child, you monstruous Scotch sack of shit!?"

"It's just for the rules of the gang, Lady!" John shot back at her.

"Enough!" Dutch shouted, which broke the tension that had been building up. "I know all of you are wondering what are we going to do with the child. But I can sort this one out." He looked at an elderly woman. "Miss Grimshaw, go and prepare a tent for our new guest to sleep on." Said individual had already began doing her task and proceeded to set it up. He looked over to the camp's cook. "Mr. Pearson, go make a new batch of stew so she can have something to eat." He finally looked over to Abigail. "Abigail, go and check up on the kid. Until she wakes up, I'll just have a talk with her." He then turn towards everyone. "That goes for the same for all. Don't bombard her with many questions until she gets comfortable. Do I make myself clear?"

All the other members answered by either nodding or simply saying "Yes, Dutch/Understood." With that done, they proceeded to do their own thing within the vicinity of the camp. None had dared to even bring up the question about the kid as she was being carried by Abigail into where she could lay down comfortably.

-Scene Change-

Wendy slowly opened her eyes and let out a groan. What she noticed first was that she had been sleeping under a tent. Second and foremost, no Earthano Particles were present in all surrounding areas. This could explain why she felt her body was weird. The third…

There was a woman who had been keeping an eye on the young dragon Slayer. She held a bowl of recently cooked stew on her hands by giving a few sniffs. "Well, you're finally awake." She went down to the Wendy's level and handed her the food. "Here, eat this. You must be hungry."

Wendy looked at the food before looking at the other woman and then back at the food. "Uh...thank you, Miss..." She meekly replied before grabbing the bowl and putting it near her. She sniffed and recognised it hadn't been spiked with anything. That was good. Whoever this woman was, she seemed to be nice. Too nice, to say the least. She grabbed a spoon and scooped up some stew before putting some contents into her mouth.

As she munch on the stew, it tasted nothing compared to Sherria's. Still, it made her eyes have stars in them. "It's yummy!" Wendy put the bowl towards her lips and began scarfing its contents.

The woman raised an eyebrow at Wendy's action, though she didn't blame her for doing such a thing. She heard footsteps coming her way and turned to see her leader approaching. "The kid's awake, Dutch."

Said individual, smiled at the woman. "Thanks, Abigail. I'll take it from here. Go be with your kid." Abigail did just that and went to where her child was.

Wendy stopped eating as she heard an unfamiliar voice. She looked up to see a man who wore an outfit that a rich boy would wear. "Um…"

Dutch looked at the kid and smiled at her. "I see you're getting yourself comfortable here, Young One."

She meekly chuckled at his words. "Oh? I didn't know that, Sir."

As the conversation began, Dutch had to ask the obvious question. "What's your name?"

"W-Wendy. My name is Wendy Marvell." She introduced herself with a somewhat awkward tone.

"Nice to meet you, Wendy." Dutch spoke to her while smiling. "I am Dutch Van Der Linde and I have many questions."

She didn't know why, but Wendy felt uncomfortable when he uttered that. Also, Van Der Linde? Someone might have had a 'Van' within their name back in Fiore. She couldn't piece it where. She got a little moment to recompose before saying what was on her mind. "Like what, Mr. Van Der Linde?"

"Like, why is your hair blue?" The man had asked the most obvious question.

Wendy looked at him with confusion before she grabbed a handful of her hair and ran her fingernails through it. "This? This is just my natural hair colour."

Dutched remained unsure if what the girl was saying had a hint of truth. Which leads him to his next question. "And the marking on your shoulder?"

This time, the Young Dragon Slayer looked over her right shoulder and saw her Fairy Tail guild mark. Not wanting to give any crucial information to Dutch, who seemed to act "friendly" to get anything off from her, she thought of a lie. "Ah. This mark represents a Tribe I was in. But it was broken up after my people had been hunted down. I do not know how many survived."

This made Van Der Linde feel pity for the girl. Lost and no one to look after. He went down to her level and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Do not worry, Wendy. I and the others will look after you from now on. Understand?" Again, Wendy was sceptical of his words. Yet they felt promising to her. Her silence was all that he needed. "Now. We need to get your clothes sorted." He turned to the side and saw a familiar face dropping a particular drunken Reverend to his quarters before conversing with an older woman. "Would you please excuse me?" Without saying a word, Dutch left Wendy to chat with the man.

"Well, thank you, Mr. Morgan. I'll keep an eye on him." Susan spoke to the other man before going to the drunk Reverend's side to check on him.

"He was lucky this time. Real lucky." Arthur Morgan spoke with a lace of sarcasm before he walked away from the two…

"Arthur!" The individual saw his leader approaching him.

Already, he had a guess as to why he was like that. "I take that our little guest has finally awakened?"

Dutch simply nodded. "She has. And I want you to take her to Valentine. Fetch the kid some clothing so she doesn't stand out. If you ask me, the colour of her hair will do too good of a job of that and a new set of clothes won't fix that."

The other man sighed at his leader's words. "And why are you asking me of all people, Dutch?"

"You're heading there to meet Javier and Charles at the saloon?" Dutch had asked, being aware of his subordinate's next intention. "It's just an easy task, Arthur. Just take her to town before heading where they are."

The other man was about to open his mouth when he saw his leader's point. "Fine, I'll take her. But don't expect me to babysit her when I meet them at the saloon."

His leader seemed to take his words into consideration. "Alright. Let me just get her." He walked away for a few seconds before returning with the little girl following from behind. Dutch stepped back to make her more visible and looked at her. "Wendy. This is Arthur, someone I have known for the past twenty years. He's going to be the one to take you to town."

Wendy tilted her head at him. "R-really?"

He let out a smile. "Yes. Now, would you two excuse me? I have matters to attend to." With that, he walked away from them.

The Young Dragon Slayer looked to where Dutch headed off. She was about to ask when Arthur called out to her. "Come with me, Princess. Let's get you sorted with your clothes." She looked at him, who was near the pathway of the campsite. Wendy looked at him and knew she was only wasting time. "You coming?"

"I'll be there." The young Dragon Slayer called out to him.

Arthur only just sighed at her words and quietly muttered. "Just shut up and stop making any more excuses." Unknown to him, Wendy clearly heard that and glared at him. Seeing her caused him to narrow his eyes annoyingly. "What?"

"I heard that." She spoke.

"Hey," He commented and raised his hands up. "I just didn't say anything, okay?!" Wendy didn't believe a single word. Instead, she just walked up to him and looked directly at his eyes. Seeing this kind of made him feel a bit uncomfortable. "Alright, let's just head into town now, shall we?"

A/N: Alright, I have to make this clear. I know all of you are expecting the saloon brawl to occur next chapter. But bad news, it's not happening just yet. I do not want to make it too obvious and straightforward on Wendy's reveal. Rather, the next chapter will just a simple mission involving Uncle, Mary-Beth Gaskill, Karen Jones, and Tilly Jackson. I wonder what can happen when Wendy is involved in a certain point of a mission? Anyway, apology for the short chapter but I don't feel like writing a long chapter. Got writer's block and burnout at the moment. But I will try to write the other chapter as soon as I can. Man, this story is only getting more interesting!

P.S. Give constructive criticism as I need to improve on my story-writing. And I have to thank animedevilluvzyuri for putting a line that I should have included. Give him some credit.
