In the year 2008,
After avenging his partner at the hands of a monstrous killer, Detective Harley Stone discovers a unique element to the creature's biology that he never knew it had. A small hint of a viral strain known as the T-Virus. The link to this bioengineered pathogen being the multinational pharmaceutical company known as Umbrella. Tracing the source of the company to the famed Raccoon City, Stone heads down to investigate and hopefully bring back evidence to expose Umbrella's inhumane experiments.
However upon arriving, Stone discovers the entire city being overrun by flesh eating zombies, as result of the T-Virus spreading to the local population. To make matters worse Umbrella has begun unleashing genetically engineered monsters to test their combat prowess. Luckily Stone is not alone, as he meets with a small group of survivors consisting of the rookie cop Leon Kennedy, defective mercenary Carlos Olivera, the strong willed Jill Valentine, and a mysterious woman with ties to Umbrella. Together they join in the fight for survival against the zombie outbreak.
