Chapter 11

Ally pushed Sian back and searched his eyes. They were clearer than when they first walked in, but still, there was something there haunting him. Sian brushed his hand over Ally's head. Those big blue eyes looking at him.

"I miss you," Sian said softly.

"Me too, but, Sian, you have a lot of explaining to do. Not just to me, but Jay and Lonnie." Ally said softly.

Sian frowned then looked at the boys and back to Ally. "Wait, Jay's here?"

"How do you think we found you, man?" Tyler said tossing him back his wet clothes. "Lonnie called him, Jay called in the whole group."

Sian moved away from Ally and sat on the bed. Scrubbing his face, he thought about this. "So does Jay know about…"

"Jaylian? Yeah. And they've figured out that Riley has been playing Lonnie with texts, pictures, phone calls, the works. Jay's pretty pissed." Aziz explained.

"That's not good." Sian thought more.

"Did you know about Riley, Sian?" Tyler asked concerned about what exactly they were facing. "Did you know everything she was doing?"

"I knew Lonnie saw Riley that night at the club. She didn't want to listen to me. I didn't know there was more though. I tried to talk to her a few times about Jay especially after she found out about Jaylian, but she didn't want to hear it. I didn't push, I should have, but I didn't."

"Sian, this wasn't your fault," Ally said holding his hands.

"But what happened with us is. I didn't fight for you, I should have." Sian said softly. "I should have trusted you and I didn't. That's on me. So is what's happening now."

"Sian, honey, do you know where Mulan is?" Ally was afraid she already knew the answer. Sian looked up at her, tears forming in his eyes as he nodded. He knew more than he wanted to.

"Why do you have to go in again?" Jay asked lying on the bed while Lonnie changed her clothes. Lonnie walked out of the bathroom and Jay's eyes devoured her. She still has the most beautiful body he's ever seen. "You just lost Shang. Your mom is missing, you don't think your work will understand that?"

"I'm not going to work, but if I don't turn in my lesson plans and timesheet, my substitute won't have anything to work with and I won't get paid for last week. I can't go without that, Jay. Ten minutes tops." Lonnie said as she pulled on her shoes. Jay frowned hearing this. Had things really gotten that rough for her?

"This has been really hard on you, hasn't it? Financially hard?" Jay sat up and took hold of her hand, getting her to stop and look at him.

"Half my checks go to daycare and rent. Then there's utilities and groceries… there isn't a lot left in the end. When emergencies happen, it screws me up. So yeah, it hasn't been easy, but I've made it work and Jaylian has never gone without." Lonnie explained.

Jay didn't say anything else. He should have been here. He should have come back and not waited for her. Jay knew he hadn't fought nearly hard enough for her eight years ago. That won't be the case now. Now, he's not going back without her. If that means they stay in Tritons Bay then that's what they do.

"Look, I won't be long," Lonnie said grabbing her bag.

"I'm going with you," Jay said and got up. He wanted to see where she was working anyway. Maybe he could talk to Ben, and get her job in Auradon.

Six years ago

Lonnie sat at the table in the students' center. Her books and papers spread out while she waited for Jay to finish with his class. Between work and school, the only time they were getting were these brief run-ins between classes lately. It was lonely and hard, but they were trying their best to make things work.

"Lonnie, babe! What are you doing here all alone?" Ethan walked up and hovered over her shoulder.

Ethan is Queen Elsa's son. Jay had once thought he was a good guy until Ethan made a move on Lonnie. Since then, Jay has had an issue with the amount of attention he paid to his girlfriend. Ethan has made no secret that he felt Jay wasn't enough for Lonnie and that Lonnie deserved better and he made a point to tell both of them that regularly.

Jay and Ethan have gotten into several fights over Lonnie over the past year, but the guy just doesn't want to give up. Every time Jay sees Ethan around Lonnie it reminds him of what he can't give her and makes him wonder if he really is holding her back.

"Just working on a report and waiting for Jay," Lonnie replied. Ethan didn't like Jay and made no secret of it. Lonnie tried to keep out of it since they did have to work together, but Ethan didn't make it easy.

"You really need to dump him, Lonnie. All you do is work your butt off and wait around for him. You deserve better." Ethan said once again.

Lonnie shook her head. "He's working hard for us, for a future. Jay's what I want Ethan. You need to understand that."

"Well, at least let me treat you to lunch while you're waiting. Some time with someone who appreciates you will do you some good." Ethan began grabbing her papers and piling them up.

"Ethan! Thanks for keeping Lonnie company, but we have a lunch date. You aren't invited." Jay announced as he walked up. Leaning down he kissed Lonnie hard, making his point clear once again that Lonnie was his.

The guy was slime, Jay thought. Every time Lonnie was alone the guy was hovering around like a freaking vulture waiting for its prey. Lonnie tried being nice, but the guy just didn't let up. Jay was getting tired of it and was starting to wonder if Lonnie wanted someone like Ethan instead of him. Ethan had the money and position Jay would never have here. Maybe Lonnie was better off without him.

Present

"You have to be joking!" Jay muttered softly as he waited for Lonnie.

Jay stood off to the side while Lonnie booted up her computer and got to work with her timesheets and reports. Jay looked around the school office and saw Ethan walk in wearing a reflective vest and holding a stop sign. Jay saw red immediately.

"That douche is still hanging around here?" Jay leaned in and whispered to Lonnie.

"What?" Lonnie looked up at Jay, then over her shoulder. "Ethan?"

"Lonnie! I'm surprised you're here!" Ethan rushed over to her and wrapped his arms around her. Jay glared at this and cleared his throat.

Ethan turned around and raised his eyebrows at Jay before realizing who he was. "Jay!? Wow, I didn't expect to ever see you back here." Ethan smirked before turning back to Lonnie. "Babe, did you want to do lunch and talk about things? I know this has to be rough on you."

"I don't think…" Lonnie saw the look on Jay's face. He was getting angry.

"I'm here. She's got me, Ethan." Jay started coldly.

"Yeah, well she's got me too. I've been her friend and didn't walk out on her when things got rough for her." Ethan wasn't backing down.

"Guys stop! Please!" Lonnie stood up and placed her hand on Jay's chest. Their voices were starting to get loud. "Thank you, Ethan, but no."

"Why are you here?" Ethan glared at Jay ignoring Lonnie completely.

"Not your business, but I'm getting my family back," Jay said taking Lonnie's hand.

"Getting your family...Lonnie? Something you want to explain to me?" Ethan looked at her frowning.

"Ethan, Jay and I are -"

"We're back together, Ethan." Jay cut Lonnie off. "She's taken, she's mine. Always has been, and always will be. Keep your hands off her!" Jay announced not so quietly. He hadn't felt his jealousy tear up like this in years. The only time he ever got this way, was over Lonnie.

"Okay. I'm done with the lesson plans. Let's go put this into payroll and we can go." Lonnie turned her computer off and grabbed her bag and Jay's arm. "Come on."

Lonnie tugged Jay away from Ethan and dropping off her paperwork pulled him out the door. Jay frowned and stewed over seeing Ethan until they got to the car. Getting in, Jay sat staring out the window before he quietly spoke.

"He called you babe," Jay whispered feeling like he missed something back there.

"Ethan always called me that. I've asked him not to, but he doesn't listen. Most of the time he did it to make you mad. I never went out with him, Jay. Even after you left. He only volunteers at the school to get close to me. I didn't have time for a social life. My first priority was Jaylian, and still is." Lonnie touched his face. "You were always jealous of him, but Jay, you never needed to be. Not then and not now."

"He always made sure I knew he could give you what I couldn't," Jay said taking a deep breath.

"But he couldn't give me what I wanted...the only thing I wanted, the only one wanted, was you." Lonnie cupped his face turning him to look at her.

"And now?" Jay asked not sure if anything had changed.

"Still you, and Jaylian now. That's all I need." Lonnie said as she leaned in and kissed him softly. "You never had a reason to doubt me, but you did and that hurt."

"I didn't doubt you, I doubted myself. I didn't think I could give you what you deserved. And there were so many pricks like Ethan here ready to tell me I wasn't good enough for you. And they did Lonnie, they made a point of telling me over and over I wasn't good enough. It got to me. I'm sorry, Lon. For not being here, for failing you, for seriously screwing up. I want you back." Jay felt his eyes burn but kept refusing to release his tears.

"You don't get me back," Lonnie said with a soft smile. "I never left you. I'm still right here… waiting for you to bring us home."

His kiss seared her lips. Deep long kisses as if his life depended on them. Jay couldn't get enough as he pulled at Lonnie. Moving the seat back fast, he pulled Lonnie into his lap. Straddling him, Lonnie wrapped herself around him. His hands roamed up her thighs, gripping her hips and grinding her against him.

Jay growled softly into the kiss and pulled back slowly. His breath ragged as his fingers touched her neck and slowly traced the neckline of her dress. Her center pressed against him and her core heated wanting him. Lonnie leaned in and kissed his neck, she had missed him so much.

"We're in the parking lot, Jay. In the middle of the day at a school where I work. This really isn't…" Lonnie whispered against his skin. Jay sucked on her neck and got a shiver through her body as a reward. Jay smiled, lacing his fingers through her hair and lavished her neck with kisses. He wasn't willing to break contact with her. This has been a long time coming. Lonnie sighed letting her head fall back.

"Not the place I know. Tonight though. We get Jaylian to bed and the others out of the house. I'm gonna show you just how much I've missed you." Jay said softly as Lonnie crawled off his lap.

"I'm kinda getting the idea." Lonnie teased as her fingers stroked down him running over her abs and down to his pants. Rubbing against him, causing Jay to groan, growing immediately to her touch. "Looks like you're pretty happy to see me."

Jay rolled his head over and grinned at her. "You have no idea, baby. I hope you don't plan on getting out of bed tomorrow, cause I got a lot of time to make for."
