Chapter VII

Tobirama Senju had been in the office of the current Lord Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, for an hour when a messenger bird flew through the window. In his beak was a scroll that held the status and location of Hunter nin, Haru Yoshikawa. Along with an encoded message that caused him to choke on an onigiri.

"A wo-woman." The red eyed man said.

"Yes." Hiruzen laughed. "He is bringing a woman back to the village."

Just when things couldn't get stranger. Tobirama thought. The youngest of his Hunter nin goes and find a woman.

"Wouldn't this compromise the mission entailed?"

Hiruzen looked at Tobirama and sighed. "You need to stop thinking the worst of people."

Tobirama did not speak. For which he was grateful. He understood the hesitation when it came to strangers entering the village but this was someone that could be trusted. Never once had Yoshikawa displayed the means to abandon the village.

He was smart. Too smart.

He wasn't reckless with his movements. Or decisions.

Yet he couldn't help feeling that Danzo would find a way to be involved in this new development. Which could complicate matters.

"We'll just wait and see." He said. Hoping that this was right thing.

He pulled out a cigarette.

He would be needing it soon.

They reached the gate of Konohagakure late into the night. The guards watching were vigilant as always but easily distracted when it came the wiles of a womanly figure.

They were entranced. Not that Haru could deny Hanako's beauty. It was just that he didn't have enough energy to put up a fight. Not while his muscles were aching and his senses were going haywire.

She yawned right next to him. And for a moment he smiled. At least she wasn't acting like a brat.

He could see the Hokage Monument in the distance. Which meant that either Lord Third or Lord Second were still awake...hopefully.

"Let's go." Haru said while grabbing her hand. "The leaders of the village would like to meet you."
