Former Residence of Haruka Misamoto: Katomi's First Hunt
It's been some time since the drunkard came back and now I can hear him snoring in the other room, now is the time. I looked around my bare closet and sighed, I seriously need to figure out where else I can live, I have no real reason anymore to be here, and bringing more clothing back here will only create more suspicion. "Besides, it's time for the chic to spread her wings," I mumbled under my breath, closing my closet door after picking up a pair of cargo shorts and my sandals. I locked my door and walked over to my window, put on my shorts, and sat on the window ledge, sticking my feet out of the other side. I expand my sensory range checking for smells and sounds, and using my night vision to see into the nearby forest. Seeing that the coast was clear, I put on my sandals and stepped to the ground. It's a small one-story house, so the drop wasn't much at all. I then chose a direction, one that seemed to take me in the direction of the village center, and started on my way towards it, remaining in the forest area at the side of the house to not leave a footprint in the front yard of our house.
I glanced at the map, given to me by the gamer system as I moved my way through to the village center, my gamer map became more and more expanded now that I was moving around the main village and not just the forests around my house. I saw that most of the green dots are within their own houses, not much good to do at night in this place anyway, better for me. My senses were at high alert as I continued to make my way through the woods, the trees near the buildings, and the back end of the buildings themselves. "I seriously need to start training in tree walking, I feel kinda exposed on the ground," I said mentally as I rounded a corner of an alleyway between two currently closed shops. My eyes laid on the front of one of the clothing shops of this village, at least I believe this is one of them. Remaining aware of my surroundings, I slowly made my way to the store, looking around after coming out of the alleyway, only to see an empty street. I quickly ran over to the store, making my way to the back of the building. Man, I'm starting to reminisce.
Firefly Village: Satoshi's Clothing Store
"Damn, of course, it's locked." I cursed out loud, seeing that the backdoor was locked with a somewhat primitive-looking lock, at least for the standards of my old world. A usual bulb-like shape with a single hole in the middle. "Hm, at least I don't need to worry about security cameras or guns." I laughed quietly trying to find something to pick the lock. My eyes landed on the trash can that was nearby, seeing that there were some hangers in it, I decided to dig in, seeing if I could at least find a metal hanger. "Ah, there you are," I said as I pulled out a wire hanger, "Not much of these things around here, but, it'll do." I said, as I started to untwist the hanger and twisted it in a way that it would fit into the lock hole, "These kinds of locks don't have much security, considering the lack of technology and research, so this-" I continued as I put the hanger into the lock and jiggled it around. I heard a quiet click sound, and then the top shackle moved out of the way, "Oh God, I'm talking to myself." I thought in slight embarrassment.
Finally getting the lock off of the door, letting my military training take over, I slowly opened the backdoor and made my way into the shop, still cautious of any threats or traps, even if it may be unnecessary. "I need to get some weapons after this." I thought as I silently made my way into the storefront, still on guard until I saw that the store was clear. With my enhanced vision, I do not need to light any candles to see where I am going or what I am picking up. Letting out a sigh, I finally turned to the clothing that was still on display, before glancing over to the bags. "I need two tops, some bottoms, sandals, and perhaps a cloak if possible. A bag would be good for storage as well." I muttered quietly, before seeing a brown, leather backpack. "Leather, decent quality, and good durability. It's also a decent size to fit some clothing in it." I said. Grabbing the backpack off of the shelf, I made my way over to the kimonos and bottoms. "Black, white and red, and blue and red, and they all have these beautiful, golden oriental designs on them. Shit, am I stealing from the luxury store of this village? And that is what they have for security." I said as I grabbed all three kimonos and moved to the bottoms.
Seeing that there were some pants and some tighter-fitting shorts, I decided to go for the tight-fitting shorts, "My fighting style will be more focused on speed and agility, therefore, I can't have too much drag." I muttered, glancing down at the clothing I was already wearing, "Maybe it's not a good idea to get expensive clothing considering I would be growing out of it, but, I mean, it's only the best sale of the year, limited time only." I said as a smile made its way on my face. Turning back to the bottoms, I picked up a couple of the tight shorts before moving on to the sandals, grabbing a black cloak from one of the nearby shelves. I came to the rack that held some of the sandals and other types of footwear. "I guess I'll get these for now," I said, picking up black sandals that had a slightly higher heel and thin straps that went to my calf.
After collecting the clothing, I put the kimonos, the shorts, and the sandals into my new backpack, after that, I dawned the black cloak that I got earlier, seeing that the bottom touched the ground, "Troublesome, being roughly 110 cm is just plain troublesome." I said in annoyance, before, glancing over to the underwear section, "Well, I'm going to need those too." I said, walking over and grabbing the underwear, before putting it into my backpack and putting my backpack onto my back. "Time to go, next up, some weapons." After a few moments, I glanced over the store and made my way to the backdoor, putting the pathetic excuse of a lock back onto the door and throwing the hanger back into the trash. I checked my surroundings again, "All clear", I spoke as I put my hood on to cover my head and my identity to a degree, before making my way around to find the nearest weapon shop.
Firefly Village: Not the Only Predator
"Shit." I cursed quietly as I looked around the corner, using my eyes to see several meters away from me, seeing a couple of guys sitting out in some chairs, both smoking a cigarette. I glanced up at the high moon, shining brightly in the sky, at this time of the night, those guys were up to no good, and not in the way I was. Looking closer at one of the men as he was taking another drag of his smoke, I noticed that his hand was missing a finger on his right hand. "Yeah, it's quite rare for civilians to not have a finger unless they work with metals, those guys, this time, lacking a finger...possibly Yakuza or some kind of gangster," I said quietly. If these types were in this village, it wouldn't be much of a surprise. Larger shops packed up and left to be protected by a larger village and that left a power vacuum of some sort. People lost their jobs, and turned to the dirty life, although from my knowledge of the Yakuza, they tend to go by an honor code, even if they are still criminals. "Reality is often stranger than fiction," I said as I started to move away from them, going back to my mission of getting weapons.
After ditching the chainsmoking duo, I went back to stealthfully moving my way through the alleyways and the mostly deserted streets. Mostly deserted because I had to turn around, seeing that some of the bars were still open near what looked to be the red light district of this village. That meant prostitutes, drunks, and druggies, although I have no idea what kind of drugs they use in this world. Making my way to what looked like a weapon shop, I made my way to the back for the usual routine. "Ok, now you've got to be joking," I muttered disappointingly, being able to just simply open the back door that had no lock on it. "What drunk fuck owns this place?" I asked rhetorically, making my way through the smiting area and into the storefront. Gazing around at all of the beautiful, deadly tools a slight amount of excitement emerged within me. "This...is it...I really am...here, in this world." I thought.
Not wanting to waste any more time, I quickly moved to the katanas on display, "Not a bad choice." I said, as my eyes then moved to another display, showing what looked like black, sharp metal fans, as long as my forearm, "Perfect. It goes with my wind affinity as well." I said before happily picking up the weapons before opening them. Once opening, my eyes gleamed with excitement, "Holy fuck, a red moon with red flowers, damn, what a day." I said as I placed the fans into my pockets. I walked around slightly longer before seeing twin black, straight-edged Wakazashi's with a red edge, similar to my Tessen's. "Nice, I'm already duel-wielding with my fans, and it would be good to have something for mid-range," I said, grabbing the blades along with a shoulder scabbard for the blades. I then searched around for around and managed to find a scroll on basic sword styles and also shoved that into my backpack along with some metal wire. Strapping the blades to my back and then placing my backpack on my back, I made my way back out of the store, quite happy with my Christmas shopping.
Firefly Village: Benihime Forest
Making it out to the forests that surround this village after my haul, my next plan of action is to get started with shelter. Now, I need to build a nest of some kind. It's out of the way, and people rarely ever look up. The problem is that I have not yet done tree walking, although it may not take that long considering my chakra control. Taking off my backpack and swords, I set down my newly acquired goodies by a nearby tree. Using my senses, I find that I am still in the clear, for now, that is. Taking a deep breath and channeling the chakra to the bottom of my feet, I placed my left foot onto the tree. Seeing that my foot was sticking well enough, I then allowed myself to become perpendicular to the tree and tried to place my right foot onto the tree. The key word is. "Tried," considering that almost immediately, I fell onto my back as it seemed that I hadn't channeled enough chakra.
After what may have been 30 min and a short break, I finally made it to a high point of the tree, roughly 20 meters high, and inside of an intersection of a few large branches that created a pocket of some kind within the canopy. "Your Chakra Control has improved. Your chakra control is now at mid-C-rank." The gamer system said as I sat inside of the tree's pocket. "Wonderful, now, time to get back down here and get some materials," I said as I got up and made my way back down the tree, ready to collect some materials to finish my new home.
Firefly Village: Katomi's Nest
"Your Chakra Control has improved. Your chakra control is now at B-rank." A familiar voice and notification popped up as I saw the sun finally start to come up, sighing in utter tiredness inside the small tree hut that I made. The roof is made up of some nearby leaves and moss that I could find, the walls are made up of sticks, vines, and moss to cover some of the cracks. It's not much, but it's big enough for someone twice my height if they were hunched over. I lay inside my new home, my first home, my new weapons leaned against the inner wall, and using my cloak as a bed and my backpack as a pillow, I let myself rest as a content smile came onto my face. My new home is stationed a good bit deeper in the forests of the village, my old house can be seen from over a kilometer away if I was to look from the top of this tree. There's also a small clearing near here with a small lake a little ways away from my new base.
Now that this is my new stomping ground, and the war should be happening in the next few years, I need to seriously step up my training. I'm not exactly sure when the Ame orphans, Nagato, Konan, or Yahiko met the Sannin, but I do believe that was at the end of the second shinobi war, which should last for roughly 5 to 7 years. Honestly, it was never very clear when these wars started, when they ended, or how long they lasted. Either way, the orphans are in my crosshairs, which really makes me feel bad, considering that Konan was one of my favorites, however, that damned Rinnegan is far too powerful to be in the hands of humans. That same Rinnegan that was later used to form the group known in canon as the 'Akatsuki', the same group that later kidnapped the tailed beasts around the world and later brought the world into the 4th shinobi war.
To put it quite simply, the orphans have to die, and that Rinnegan needs to get destroyed, thus thwarting Zetsu's plan. And speaking of Zetsu, he will also be a problem and would need to get eliminated. The problem is, he or it, is a very slippery bastard, though he doesn't have much combat powers. Surely, if I confront, or when I confront Nagato, Zetsu would try to prevent me from destroying those precious eyes. Yawning and stretching my tired body, I sat up to gaze out of the opening of my nest at the rising sun, using my knee to prop up my upper body. I sat, pondering what to do next before letting out a sigh. "Firstly, a bath would do," I said as I grabbed my backpack, took out a pair of black shorts, and a pair of panties, and made my way out of my hideout.
Former House of Haruka Misamoto: The Drunkards Debts
"Ugh, what hit me?" I asked as the familiar feeling of a hangover hit me as soon as it was time to wake up. I sat up, seein' that my bottle was empty, "Well, time to get up, got work to do." I said, rubbing the back of my head. Walking out of the room the wife and I used to share, I took a quick look at Katomi's room door, closed as always. Not botherin' to find out, I made my way to the bathroom, needin' to deal with the usual activities of the mornin'. After a few, I made my way back out of the bathroom, made my way to the kitchen, and got a lil' somethin' from the fridge, somethin' to keep me goin' for a while after gettin' to work. After finishing my quick bite, I started on my way to the door, ready to get the day started before pausing, "OI, brat, there's a little bit of grub in the fridge, can't have you starvin' now can I?" I said loudly, probably useless considering that she never really comes out when anyone else is here. I scoffed, turned to the door, and made my way out, not botherin' to dignify the silence with anything else.
Misamoto Weapon's Shop
"Shit...fuck...Kami-damn it." I swore, seeing the missing pair of Tessens along with the twin Wakazashi blades the boss man, and the soul collectors ordered yesterday. "Damn..." "SHIT, the backdoor, of course," I said, swingin' my arm around in anger. "The fucking backdoor...damn, I knew I shoulda got a damn lock. Either way, just about everybody already knows this is the territory of the soul collectors, why the hell would they take from the big fishes?" Shit, whoever might've done this, fucked with the wrong people, and my ass is on the line for this shit. What the fuck am I gonna say to their coffee boy when he comes here? I sighed in anger, walked over to the front table where the cash register is, sat down, and pulled out a spare bottle of the good stuff, not wanting to be sober for what was gonna become of me sometime later.
"Knock, knock!" Said a raspy, light voice as one of the coffee boys finally showed up, lookin' for the packages to take back. The man ain't much to look at, average in all manners, except for the missing finger on his right hand. And damn, this jack smokes like a damn corpse. A surprised look quickly crossed his face as he immediately saw the missing weapons, "Where the fuck is the packages, ya shrimp? Do you know what the boss will do now that you went back on ya promise for the second time? Shit, your ass is gonna get torn up so badly, you're gonna need to shit from your mouth for the next month." He barked, walking his way up to me, "With that, the boss is gonna have my ass too, along with Roshi." I sighed before asking, "And, pray tell, what happened with Roshi?"
The chain smoker looked at me with coldness, "That fucker had his shop robbed too, I just came from the place before coming here, and a few of the more expensive kimonos were also stolen. He had no idea too, had it all locked up and everything. Came in a bit ago and boom, all gone." I looked at him in surprise before a face of horror crossed my face, which the chain smoker mirrored, "Fuck." I said as he nodded in agreement. I sighed, seeing that nothing could be done and I was really in the deep on this one, the boss ain't gonna be merciful with not only his weapons being stolen but also some clothing for, what I assume, would be for some of his slaves has also been stolen. The chain smoker glanced back at me, face blank, but his eyes had a certain gleam to them, "Ya know, it's gonna take a whole lot to get into the good graces of boss man. I hope your wife will agree, no?" My face immediately became blank, knowing where this was going, I sighed before answering, "She ain't here no more, ran off somewhere yesterday, only left her ring."
A surprised look crossed the chain smoker's face again, "Interesting, but that ring ain't gonna be enough." He said glazing into my eyes with a silent, unanswered question. I sighed and groaned before taking a long, much-needed gulp of the courage juice, "You want my daughter do ya?" I asked, getting a small chuckle from the man. "Boss man can be ruthless, and when things like this happen, well..." He said. I breathed in, and breathed out, "Take her." I said simply, with no emotion. Looking back at the smoker, I noticed the slightly taken aback look on his face, "That's it, no fight?" He asked. I sighed again for the umpteenth time, "There's no point, either I let it happen quietly, or boss man does it loudly. Besides, she probably hates my guts anyway, she probably wants nothing more than to leave." The man smiled, "Well, it's settled, it's a pleasure doing business with ya, and oh, that ring would be a good addition. Now, don't let it happen again, or else we may have to take you up on that, 100% off sale discount." He said as he made his way out of my shop.
