Sup lad!
How are you all doing on this fine day/night?
Wonderful? That is marvelous to hear!
Well I have marvelous news of my own. That's right! You guessed it, another chapter featuring our favorite whiskered ninja.
Let's dive right in, shall we.
actually, before we do, I have just one message to every hater who has nothing better to do with their life except hate... Suck a fucking dick.
now let's begin!
Start:
Naruto sat in silence, calmly taking in everything Makrov had told him of all that had transpired since he last stepped foot in the guild.
"So… just to see if I got everything right, in the weeks that I've been away, You and the other guild masters in your monthly meetings were attacked by a member of Eisenwald who possessed the flute of Lullaby, said flute turned into a massive demon but you all took care of it. However, the magic council needed a scapegoat for the incident so they had apprehended Erza."
An angry frown tugged at Makarov's lips. "That's right, it was a punishment only in name but one that they were all too happy to blame on us."
"Mhm." Naruto grunted in annoyance as he thought of the troublesome body of magic. "Not too soon after the entire ordeal, A mage belonging to Phantom Lord attacked and tarnished the empty guildhall at night, said mage the next night, attacked Levy along with Jet and Droy, crucifying them for all to see, and from there you decided to retaliate but unfortunately when you and Fairy Tail had attacked, one of the mages of the elemental four successfully snuck up on you and drained you of your magic reserves, forcing everyone to retreat."
Makarov sighed in a mixture of tiredness and guilt. "Yes, and while I was busy recovering underneath Porlyusica's care, Jose attacked."
"And destroyed the guildhall with his shade magic." Naruto finished for him. "But not before firing a Jupiter cannon, that if Erza had not blocked, would not only kill everyone in Fairy Tail but also kill God knows how many civilians who'd be in the crossfire of that attack."
"Indeed." From the moment he had met him, Naruto had always seen Makarov as an energetic and cheerful old man with so much life in him, rarely did ever did he look his age, but gazing at the elderly wizard saint looking so weary and fatigued…
"I'm sorry Master." Naruto bowed his head in shame. "I should have been here."
"You are not to blame here, Naruto." Makarov stated firmly, intensely eyeing the blonde and daring him to say otherwise.
"But-"
"But nothing." The wizard saint interrupted. "This is no one's fault but Jose, not mine, not yours, not even Gajeel's and Juvia's who were only acting under Jose's order."
"I should have been here with everyone though." Naruto rebuked.
"And I should not have been careless and allow some two-bit mage to sneak up on me, but it happened and as a result, I was all but useless until the very end... Words fail to express how ashamed I feel for not being able to do more for our family but it does not mean that I am at fault, and neither does that make you at fault." Makarov replied sternly before his visage softened.
"No one blames you, my boy. If you had been around, I have no doubt in my mind that you would have helped us, but you weren't around and that is not your fault. As distasteful as it is, the fact is that a lot of the time, we won't always be around to help and support the people we love."
Naruto nodded stoically.
Years of experience allowed Makarov to spot and notice extremely subtle details that betrayed how a person truly felt. The slight tightening of the jaw for instance, the almost unnoticeable clenching of his fists, small details such as that helped alert the elderly wizard of the young shinobi's downtrodden mood.
Makarov sent the younger wizard a comforting smile. "Just means that we have to make each moment count and do our best to be around when our family needs us."
His words struck their mark, Naruto almost unconsciously relaxed before returning Makarov's smile with one of his own small ones. "You're right."
"Of course, I'm right! This is why you need to listen to me more!"
Naruto barely stopped himself from deadpanning at the sudden shift in Makarov's demeanor from a humble, wise grandfather figure to that of a cranky old man.
Still, he couldn't help but chuckle lightly before nodding his head.
Recalling a piece of information Makarov had informed him of earlier, Naruto countenance turned serious. "Master, there is only one thing that concerns me currently, those two former phantom members… why invite and accept them here?"
Makarov took a moment to compose himself, eyes lowering to his desk before they rose back up to lock on to Naruto's confused yet penetrating gaze. "Because everyone deserves a chance. They brought harm to our family, yes, but sometimes, extending a hand in friendship and forgiveness can really be what we all need."
Naruto couldn't argue there, after all, he had done the exact same thing with Gaara and Gaara was far from being the monster he had been when Naruto first met him. "I can't disagree with you there. If you think they deserve a chance then I will stand by your decision."
"Good." Makarov smiled, pleased before his visage morphed into a serious expression. "Now, give me every relevant detail of your travels, you have been gone for more than three weeks. Obviously something happened during that time period."
The shinobi grew equally serious. "The S-class request I had taken grew a bit more bothersome and complicated than expected but I had finally finished it after eleven days, needless to say, I won't be taking any missions anytime soon that will take me out of Fiore."
"I'm relieved to hear that, the heart attack you gave me when that mission entailed that you must go all the way to Bellum! Goodness." Makarov shook his head before focusing his attention once more. "What about the remaining days?"
A frown pulled at either end of Naruto's lips. "It took me four days till I was in Fiore again, I had been near the town of Inferno Tower and I decided to stay there and rest for the night. Instead, I wound up stumbling upon a dark guild attacking the people of Inferno Tower."
He chuckled darkly. "The dark mages were attempting to perform all manners of harm on the innocent so I dealt with them accordingly."
"I heard about that from Yajima the same night after the rune knights had arrived and apprehended all the dark mages… you did good work protecting the innocent civilians."
"Thank you master but I'm afraid there is more… when I had reached the master of the dark guild, he was pleading desperately for me to let him go, offering me information about Oracion Seis so that in return I would let him escape."
"Oracion Seis?" Makarov repeated alarmedly.
Naruto nodded. "Yes, I interrogated him and l learned that their whereabouts were concentrated somewhere around the Waas forest. The remaining days were spent trying to locate their base."
Makarov closed his eyes and breathed deeply, exhaling and inhaling a couple more times to calm his nerves before he opened his eyes to gaze at the seated blonde. "You should not have been scouting for their headquarters, especially not by yourself!"
Just the idea that one of his brats had been around such a dangerous guild caused his heart to miss a beat. He lowered his head and brought a hand upward, laying it on his forehead and trying to nurse back the incoming migraine. "At least you didn't confront and fight them."
…
…
Apprehension gripped the wizard saint as he warily raised his head to gaze at one of his most troublesome brats to date. "Please. Please. Tell me you didn't."
Naruto looked away, shamefaced. "If it helps my case, all of them, except their leader who is dead, are in jail."
A full groan escaped Makarov before through the use of his titan magic, grew his arm to enormous dimensions before he whacked the back of Naruto's head.
"You and I…" He breathed deeply. "Are gonna be having a long conversation about this later on. It matters not that you're stronger than even me now, confronting and fighting a powerful dark guild all on your own is basically asking for suicide."
"He's right Naruto." Kurama suddenly spoke from the confines of Naruto's mind.
'Kurama…' Naruto thought in silent surprise, having not heard the voice of his friend in some time.
"You have grown immensely strong even by my standards." Kurama revealed, a bit of pride surging within him as he thought of how strong his tenant had become. "But you have been very reckless as of late. Be more cautious from now on and do keep in mind that confronting danger will always cause those who love and care for you to grow worried."
A guilty expression marred Naruto's visage as Kurama's words sunk into his head. "I'm sorry master, I hadn't considered the fact that I would worry you." He apologized.
Makarov sighed. "Rarely do you cause any property damage but still, somehow you give me just as many heart attacks as Natsu! Always looking for dark guilds to destroy." He returned back to nursing his forehead. "Naruto, just please be more careful."
Naruto wasn't the most sociable person around, that fact was especially true after what happened three years ago.
But somehow, Makarov did to Naruto what he did exactly for Tyr, he stubbornly forced his way inside Naruto's heart till Naruto grew to care for him and see him as someone precious.
A rather expected outcome as Makarov had always been very kind and gentle with his approach, always so understanding even after Naruto had coldly cut him off with every interaction for a whole three months before he slowly started to warm up to the old man who never held Naruto's anger and rudeness against him.
Makarov had been nothing short of a saint, and Naruto had no shame to admit in the recesses of his mind that he saw Makarov as another father figure in his life.
It was only natural considering how fatherly Makarov had been to him.
"Alright, I promise I will try to be more careful."
Which was why the blonde disliked the principle of worrying Makarov needlessly and had no objections to the old man's demands.
Makarov relaxed a bit once his ears picked up genuineness that dripped from Naruto's tone, smiling a bit more in ease as he stared at Naruto's determined orbs. He opened his mouth.
Creak!
And promptly closed it as Laxus came thundering in angrily. "Old man! Let me go on that decade request, completing it will certainly help us regain our reputation after what happened with those phantom weaklings." He said, ignoring the shinobi who was none too surprised by the man's rudeness.
It was almost comical really. Makarov and Laxus were on opposite ends of the spectrum when it came to how they viewed the guild and everyone in it.
Naruto didn't know how Laxus came to be the way he was, he didn't care either quite frankly, but even he thought on occasion that the lightning wizard needed to be taken down a peg or two.
'The guy needs to learn to loosen up.'
"Hmm. What he needs is humility, I'd suggest giving him a good beatdown to work on that arrogance. It irritates me."
'Definitely something to consider.'
"For the umpteenth time Laxus! No! That request is a decade request for a reason, do you know how many S-class mages tried their luck and died!?" Naruto nearly winced as Makarov's voice threatened to reach the heaven. "I do not care that you think our reputation is in ruins, it is not and even if I did give a damn and it was ruined, this is not the way to fix it."
Being headstrong and fiery as he was, Laxus matched Makarov's ferocious glare with his own. "I'm strong old man, I know I can succeed!"
Makarov crossed his arms and glared. "Perhaps you can. But I will not allow you to take that risk. Only God knows how many thought the same as you only to perish when taking that mission request. How many times must I refuse until I get through your thick head?"
Laxus gritted his teeth, trying to think of something before his eyes briefly darted to the other figure in the office who he had been ignoring. "Then what if me and him." He said while pointing at the shinobi seated on the couch. "Go together?"
The shinobi in question raised an eyebrow, slightly caught off guard by Laxus's question.
Thinking about the suggestion, Naruto had to admit that he wasn't really opposed to taking a decade class request. He wasn't the only one who considered Laxus's words. Makarov too, even for a split second, contemplated the idea and Laxus, noticing that his grandfather didn't deny his proposal, decided to spice it up and lock him in.
"You can even add another S-class if it gets you to agree."
"…Two. One will be Mystogan and the other has to be either Erza, Mira or Fuu. Get Mystogan along with any of the girls to join you and Naruto and I'll agree with some stipulations." Makarov wearily proposed.
"Done." Laxus instantly agreed, pleased to finally have a shot at actually taking a ten year S-class request.
Naruto grunted. "You seem to think I'm interested, Laxus?"
The lightning wizard scoffed. "You can pretend otherwise but I know you're bored from taking all those easy S-class requests. Or wait, don't tell me that the Dark Leviathan is actually scared of taking some decade class request?"
Naruto didn't bother replying to the human lightning rod, only turning to the fairy tail master so he could ask a nagging question. "You said that you'll agree if me, Mystogan, and any of the girls are on board with Laxus, you also mentioned some stipulations. The stipulations, what are they?"
"I will state the stipulations if and when you all are here. But I will say this, of the stipulations I have in mind, one of them is that both you and Laxus, until the end of the fantasia parade, are not to go on any mission." Makarov replied firmly.
The shinobi wasn't exactly appeased but nodded altogether.
Laxus was similarly displeased but knew a losing battle when he saw one. "Whatever old man." He turned his attention to the other blonde in the room. "I'll handle talking to Mystogan, you handle Erza, seeing as she is the most professional of the three." Makarov held a frown at Laxus's attitude before said mage walked out the office, leaving only Naruto to remain with the now heavily displeased Fairy Tail master.
He huffed in exasperation. "I should have put that boy over my knees much more back when he entered his rebellious delinquent phase."
The shinobi barely held back a snort before he stood up. "I'll be walking out master." Naruto bowed politely to the elderly wizard before he headed over to the door.
"Wait, my boy."
Pausing and looking over his shoulder, a raised brow conveyed his confusion.
Makarov eyed him kindly. "You've been gone for quite a while, I know you aren't very close to everyone but give them some of your time, they've missed you just as I have."
Naruto nodded. "I'll make some time for Fairy Tail, make each moment count, right?"
A large smile blossomed on Makarov's features. "And be around more."
"Understood." The shinobi muttered softly before he stepped out and locked the door behind him.
He walked back to where nearly everyone was hanging out, idly looking around and learning the layouts of the new guildhall.
It didn't take long before Naruto arrived at the bar and could see nearly everyone laughing and smiling giddily.
"Look! It's Naruto!"
The shinobi exhaled tiredly and resigned himself to the social torture he was going to put himself through.
A chuckle in the deepest recess of his mind alerted Naruto to the fact that Kurama found the whole matter humorous. 'This isn't funny Kurama.'
Kurama's chuckles only revibrated louder in his mindscape before Naruto forced himself to ignore his sadistic friend.
Making his way downstairs, he ignored all the hushed, excited whispering and all the waves and stares aimed his way, more concerned with what he should do since he was now stuck in the guildhall.
Fortunately, before he'd be forced to ponder as to what to do, Fuu came to the rescue, appearing from virtually out of nowhere just to snag his wrist and drag him over to a table before he could mutter a word.
Arriving at the large table, Fuu took utmost delight as Naruto uncomfortably stood in place before the crowd composed of giggling and/or smiling women.
Before he could send Fuu a soul-terrifying glare, he stumbled back a step as Lisanna came barreling into his chest for a large hug. "Naruto-Aniki! It's been so long! I've missed you. Where have you been!?"
"Lisanna…" Naruto sighed in a mixture of exasperation and fondness. "How many times have I told both you and Elfman not to call me Aniki?"
"I'm pretty sure that you've told us that a hundred times at least." It wasn't Lisanna who answered as another one-third of the Strauss siblings, Elfman, the very same one whose name was mentioned, excitedly walked over to them.
Spreading his arms wide, Elfman wrapped Naruto who was hugged by Lisanna into a hug, ignoring the giggling of the women around them as Naruto and Lisanna were mashed into his chest. "It's good to see you, Aniki! You're such a man!"
(Now would be a good time to mention that I'm making Elfman's appearance and powers resemble that of when he's in the grand magic games. So the guy is huge.)
Naruto sighed but didn't bother extracting himself out, already used to the affections of those two.
Though if he was truly honest with himself, Naruto couldn't say he minded too much that Lisanna and Elfman viewed him the exact same way that Fuu did.
He ignored the snickering of said women along with the other girls, only mentally counting the seconds in his head before Elfman and Lisanna would let him go.
"Now, now, Elfman, Lisanna. Give Naruto some breathing room." Like an angel descending from heaven, the last of the Strauss siblings and subsequently the most mature of them, appeared from behind them and spoke up.
They did as instructed, stepping back and allowing Naruto to send a thankful nod to Fiore's favorite supermodel. "Mirajane."
Mirajane, like Erza, had too become a woman so mind-bogglingly gorgeous that Naruto couldn't help but discreetly appreciate her appearance from time to time.
A lustrous curtain of ivory-colored hair fell down her back and helped framed an angelic face in possession of eyes so starling blue, much like his own but vastly different.
Whereas his own blue eyes were tinted with the shade reminiscent to the unpredictable and chaotic tide of the dark seas, her own were hued and reminiscent to the peaceful sky blue.
Her hair and eyes weren't the only noteworthy features that Mira possessed. Her flawless and unblemished porcelain white skin drew Naruto's attention to the full and pillowy pink lips currently drawn out in an adorable pout, seemingly peeved with his insistence to refer to her by her full name.
Sharp jawline, well sculpted cheekbones, cute nose, the trim and well-cut brows above delicate and fluttering eyelashes, and even the upward ponytail that prevented her bangs from covering her forehead, small details added and meshed well together to form a face that was undeniably beautiful.
It was a face that transcended beyond something as complex yet normal as personal preferences, she was… for a lack of a better term, universally attractive, as though her visage was created with the sole intention to mesmerize all who looked at her.
Only a scarce number of faces in existence could rival Mira's natural beauty, one such face belonging to Erza, and the rest from different women he had met and come across during his stay in Earthland.
The strapless, ankle length maroon dress she wore was both modest and conservative, hiding a body that Naruto knew, from unintended glimpses when she was dressed differently, was gifted with a pair of large perky breasts, a thin waist, a scandalously massive bubble butt, and a set of sinfully thick legs that were to die for.
It was almost comically unfair really, that she seemed to have effortlessly won the genetic lottery but that was life.
Still pouting, Mira suppressed the blush that nearly erupted on her visage due to how her name rolled out of Naruto's tongue, she childishly stomped her foot on the ground. "How many times did I tell you to call me Mira?"
"I'm pretty sure that you've told him that a hundred times at least." Lisanna mischievously supplied as she returned back to sit on the bench on Cana's left.
Naruto grunted and crossed his arms. "I fail to see the issue."
"I want you to call me Mira."
The shinobi deadpanned at her. "I'll think about it."
"Elfman, Mira, come join us! As you can see, we have plenty of space." Cana gestured to the empty space on her right.
They wordlessly agreed and sat down. The eldest of the Strauss siblings gave her brother a side-glare and was seated on the edge of the bench due to Elfman's broad and massive frame nearly taking up all the empty space. He rubbed the back of his head and sent an apologetic look to Mira.
Cana giggled and patted the muscular giant on his left pec, leaving her palm there despite all the audience vividly watching. "Elfman, I never said this but you really have grown into quite a man."
A blush suffused Elfman's cheeks before he coughed into his fist. "Man!"
Everyone around the table sweatdropped at the eccentric man's… manliness.
Fuu, noticing how oddly quiet her cheerful, blonde best friend had been, most likely because of how nervous Lucy had gotten from being around her big brother, decided to rectify the matter and help her not be so apprehensive and quiet by dragging Naruto over and forcing him to sit down on the bench.
Right next to the slightly timid Lucy who smiled shyly when Naruto's sharp gaze landed on her.
"Uh, h-hello, I'm Lucy, Lucy Heartfilla." She stuck out her hand for a greeting.
Naruto grasped her lithe hand in a gentleman fashion and shook it. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance Lucy, I'm Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki."
"The pleasure is mine." She politely replied.
"Lucy here." Fuu said while dragging the shinobi's attention to her. "Is one of my best friends, so treat her right or I'll kick your ass big brother."
Lucy groaned and sent a mildly exasperated look towards Fuu before smiling apologetically at her fellow blonde mage. "I'm so sorry about Fuu."
An amused smile tugged at Naruto's lips. "Don't be, I've unfortunately gotten used to her behavior."
The curvy celestial wizard winced playfully before looking over mischievously at the sweetly smiling mint haired jinchuriki. "That doesn't sound healthy, makes me wonder how Gaara, the guild master of Iron Sand, manages to tolerate Fuu's eccentricities."
Such a statement sparked laughter from all and even Naruto couldn't help but chuckle goodheartedly, chest rumbling with mirth as he noticed the tick mark that bulged on Fuu's forehead.
Mirajane, feeling just as mischievous, and wanting payback for all the time Fuu had teased her, threw a sly glance at the green haired demon. "He's barely surviving."
Another chorus of laughter rang out and Fuu's eyes twitched madly as even stupid, stoic Naruto couldn't keep a straight face.
"Mind if I join the motley crew." A feminine voice spoke from behind Naruto, the shinobi peered over his shoulder just in time to watch Fuu jump and wrap her arms and legs around Erza's womanly frame.
"Erza!" Fuu squealed happily.
Erza chuckled and would have hugged her best friend had she been capable of moving her arms around. "Love you too Fuu. Now mind letting go of me."
Fuu shook her head and buried her face in Erza's neck. "No! I need you, you're the only one I trust who wouldn't laugh at me." She said in a muffled voice.
The requip mage rolled her eyes fondly. "I need to sit down Fuu."
Opening her mouth to respond, a positively devilish idea suddenly grew in her head before Fuu wordlessly extracted herself from her friend's body much to Erza's surprise.
Grinning like the cat who caught the canary, Fuu dragged Erza over before making her sit on Naruto's right much to the red-head's mortification yet secret delight.
Sending a not so subtle wink to the now displeased Mira, Fuu sat on the other side of Erza and smiled cheerily before looking over towards her big brother figure. "Naruto, I have been wanting to ask you something."
"And that is?"
The gleam in Fuu's eyes could scare even the devil himself. "What are your thoughts on what Erza is wearing?"
A squeak immediately left Erza's lips before she was torn between glaring menacingly at Fuu or staring nervously at the man that she held intense feelings for, bordering on love even, for nearly an entire year now.
Such a question didn't just catch Erza off guard, pretty much everyone at the table awaited Naruto's answer with a heavy dose of intrigue. Or apprehension in Mira's case.
Naruto raised a confused eyebrow before internally shaking his head. "She looks beautiful."
An explosion of red flooded Erza's cheeks as she fidgeted shyly. Fighting monsters, demons, and dark guilds she could do, but when it came to matters of the heart…
She was a novice.
"Oh?" A silly grin was on Fuu's face, eyes darting to the silently fuming, ivory haired supermodel before her gaze returned back to Naruto's confused orbs. "And out of curiosity, how beautiful do you think she is? Or better yet, would you like it if she wore this from now instead of her usual armor and skirt get up?"
Seeing no reason to lie, Naruto turned to Erza, feeling like it was the red-head who he needed to address and not the troublesome female shinobi.
Only…
Naruto was a bit perplexed by how hard she was flushing. 'Is she sick?' He inwardly wondered before choosing to answer honestly. "I think you look very attractive with how you're dressed right now, however it doesn't matter to me how you dress because I think you're very gorgeous regardless."
Several things happened after Naruto's rather bold yet honest declaration. A loud squeal that threatened to deafen the guild emerged from Fuu's lips, an aura of purplish black magic materialized around Mira's form, everyone else's jaw dropped, and Erza…
Her entire face lit up like an atom bomb, a most spectacular accomplishment considering Erza's visage was quite red even before Naruto's declaration.
'He thinks I'm very gorgeous, He thinks I'm very gorgeous, He thinks I'm very gorgeous.' That was all that was going through Erza's head.
"You BITCH!" Somehow, Mirajane transformed into her Satan soul without anyone but Naruto noticing, jumping above the table before she delivered a punishing kick that connected with Fuu's visage, sending the mint haired jinchuriki flying back and away from the table.
"Noooo! My bear!" a random mage cried out as Fuu's form knocked into him and caused him to drop his bottle on the floor.
Turning a livid glare at random mage number two, he dramatically pointed his finger and shouted. "It was you who did this, wasn't it you bastard!"
"Who are you calling a bastard!" Random mage number two thundered back at number one.
Naruto sighed as not a minute later, the very first barfight of the day started, dragging nearby surrounding mages and causing Natsu to join in, only adding more fuel to the fire.
Unsurprisingly enough, Gray joined in but what caused Naruto to raise a brow in interest was the two mages that also dove into the fray, one of them, a man with iron clubs for arms, was in possession of black and long spiky hair, while the other mage was a blue haired woman who seemed to have her heart set out for Gray.
'They settle in pretty fast, don't they?'
Sighing as the bar fight grew larger by the second, Naruto turned around and sent a dull glare at the smirking Mira but inwardly felt as though this fight that was happening was because of him.
From within Naruto's mindscape, Kurama covered his eyes and sighed. His host had gotten leagues more smarter and intelligent in all but one department.
Back with the jinchuriki, turning to the curvy blonde to his left, Naruto sent her a small nod. "Welcome to Fairy Tail Lucy."
Snapping out of her surprise, Lucy sent a grateful, heart-warming smile in gratitude towards the shinobi. "Thank you."

"So, what was it that you wanted to speak to me about privately, big brother?" Fuu questioned, immensely curious as to why Naruto dragged her out of the guild.
Picking up a small, flat rock, Naruto flicked his wrist and watched with satisfaction as the rock reached around three dozen or so skips. "I'll get straight to the point, I have the ability to travel back and forth between Earthland and the Elemental Nation. I've had that ability for four months now, a gift from Akira."
Fuu's eyes widened marginally. "That's..."
The blonde jinchuriki looked at her stoically from the corner of his eyes. "Shocking, I know."
Stepping around him till she was directly in his line of sight, Fuu looked at him alarmedly. "Why'd she give it to you? Why four months ago? What does this mean?" She proceeded to look down, biting her lips in worry. "Please tell me that you don't plan on going back to that disgusting world."
"She gave it to me because it was what was agreed upon, why four months ago? It was part of the deal, a sort of insurance if you will, what does this mean for you and all the other jinchuriki? Nothing, you'll all stay safe and happy here."
Fuu glared furiously at Naruto. "That is not what I meant! I know you wouldn't go back there if it meant it would jeopardize me and everyone else being in Earthland. I'm asking what it means that you now have this ability."
Naruto crossed his arms. "The deal I made with Akira is that I would be given power, my God-Slayer magic, so that I could protect my…" He floundered for words before it came back to him. "Precious people, and in return, I'd have to do a certain task for her. What it means is that I can now go back and finally protect those I care about from the threat of the Akatsuki." 'And any other threat that might have surfaced.'
Fuu gritted her teeth and angrily turned away.
He sighed. "Fuu, I'm not leaving for another month, and even then I plan on coming back. It will be like I'm just taking a S-rank mission and not being around for a week and a few days at most.
The jinchuriki to Chomei slowly looked over her shoulders.
A surge of guilt rose within Naruto's chest as he noticed her moisture filled eyes.
"Fu-" "How does this ability of your even work? Have you tried it? What do you even know about this ability? Furthermore, I recall with exact clarity of how Akira stated she wouldn't bring us here if you wouldn't go to Earthland, that teleporting us would bring her unnecessary attention, how has that changed since then." Fuu rudely interrupted him.
Retaining his cool, Naruto answered her without any hint of frustration or anger. "I know everything about how this ability works because Akira was kind enough to gift me with knowledge on how to access it, the drawbacks, how much energy it uses, and so on. That's how I knew that nothing would happen to you, Gaara, and everyone else."
"What are the drawbacks?"
"There is only one drawback. Whenever I jump through the portal that will either take me to the elemental nation or return me back here, I won't be able to access or use the portal until a total of seven days have passed."
"As for your earlier question, jumping through portals won't drag attention since the portal is powered by my magic and not Akira's whose magic is… flagged for a lack of a better term. Whenever she used her magic, she had to be extremely cautious, and even then she only used it when absolutely necessary." Naruto added.
"I don't like this."
Naruto exhaled wearily. "I don't blame you. But as I have stated earlier, I am coming back every week. It's not like I'll be staying there for months on end, the longest I see myself staying in the elemental nation for is only two weeks."
"And that's so you can finish off that organization that is hunting us?"
"Yes."
"Does gramps know?" Fuu asked a bit more calmly.
Naruto nodded. "Indeed, I even left a highly advanced communication lacrima back in his office two months ago, it should hopefully work even when I'm in the Elemental Nation and before you ask, I created the lacrima, knowledge from Akira on how to create interdimensional communication and all that, that way, we keep each other updated."
"And he's okay with this!?"
"No, he wasn't, but the choice wasn't up to him."
Wiping away the bits of tears that drizzled down her visage, Fuu looked at the blonde shinobi determinedly. "When you're leaving, I'll come with you."
"No."
"What!" Fuu instantly cried out in rage. "And why the hell not!?"
Naruto glared. He actually glared at her, and Fuu, had she not known his kind and deeply caring character, would have stepped back in fright, as it was, his glare had no effect on her as she firmly locked orbs with him. "Because I will not endanger you or anyone I care about. The Elemental Nation is dangerous."
"And I am not okay with leaving you to be on your own in that hellhole!"
Sighing, Naruto raised a hand in a calm down gesture, nursing his own temper down as Fuu was only speaking from a place of care.
"Fuu, I'm telling you this because even among the jinchuriki, I care especially for you and Gaara and I can't inform Gaara of this as this would distract him from his responsibilities. I'm not telling anyone from Fairy Tail because I don't want them to worry. I don't wish to burden them and truth be honest, I was very tempted to keep you in the dark too."
Taking a long moment to compose herself, Fuu crossed her arms over her chest. "And what made you come to your senses."
"Kurama." Was his one word answer.
Clenching her fists and jaw in frustration, Fuu didn't react as Naruto walked over and laid a comforting palm on her shoulder. "The day I'll leave won't be for at least another three weeks, and I promise I will update you two days in advance of when I plan on going back to that hellhole."
"Mhmm." Angry as she was, Fuu couldn't bring herself to say a word.
Unknown to the jinchuriki pair, a set of teary eyes and ears had seen and heard the entire conversation before stealthily fleeing away.
End.
And that's pretty much it for this chapter, there wasn't much progression in this chapter but that was because I wanted you all to see the interaction between Naruto and Fairy Tail.
Next chapter will also hold quite a bit of character interaction, though obviously not as much as this chapter, and you'll find the plot to progress a bit faster compared to this one.
One thing that should be mentioned is that I won't be doing the battle of Fairy tail arc, I have something else in mind for Laxus's character development.
I do hope you all enjoyed it though, it was fun writing this and I do hope this brought out a bit of joy in your lives.
And don't worry too much about Naruto going back to the elemental nation, it won't be happening anytime soon and when it does, it's only temporary.
