10K always seemed to be asleep. He rarely kept watch because he passed out as soon as the bedrolls were laid out. As in he wouldn't wait to lay down; he would throw himself at the bedroll and be out like a light before he even hit it. Even when they were trudging through thick woods with nowhere comfortable to sit, they would still catch 10K sleeping in the trees.

They were currently driving another stolen van. Warren was driving, Murphy was in the passenger seat, and Addy, Doc, Vasquez, and 10K were in the back. There weren't seats there, so they were sitting on the ground against the walls. 10K was leaning on Doc, dead asleep. He was snoring, and it was driving Murphy mad.

He slammed his blue fist on the dash. He grumbled, "Why is he always asleep?"

10K stirred slightly. Everyone paused until he continued snoring. Addy sighed, then whispered, "Hey, we got up earlier than usual. Let him sleep."

Which was true. They try to get up when the sun does, which is way too early in 10K and Addy's opinions, but last night, Vasquez was forced to wake them up early due to a large horde. Getting 10K to wake up was no easy task because he had been in a deep sleep, but they still managed and dragged him into the van.

He ended up staring daggers at everyone for the first few minutes, no one daring to look him directly in the eye. After a couple of minutes and the group agreed that they were safe from the horde, 10K immediately fell back asleep.

Murphy unbuckled his seat belt, climbed in the back, and shook 10K's shoulder.

The grumpy teen pried his eyes open and hummed in confusion. Murphy patted the boy's knees, "Come on, Sleeping Beauty!"

The others looked at Murphy like he was crazy, but the blue man didn't care. He slid back into his seat and put his seatbelt back on. 10K grumbled and was going to fall asleep again when Murphy yelled at him, "Oh no you don't! For once in your life, stay awake with us, will you?"

10K grumbled and sent the man a dirty look. He stayed awake for the rest of the car ride. Operation Bite Mark would later learn that that was a grave mistake.

At their next stop, which was at an intersection, they had run into a group of Z's that were blocking the road. Warren didn't want to risk damaging the van more than it already was, so they would have to take them out manually. Warren used her gun and took out three, Vasquez took out three, Doc took out two with his hammers, Addy took out two with her Z-Whacker, and there was one left. Doc was about to head towards it when a bullet whizzed by him. It was 10K's. However, instead of a headshot like he normally would have, it hit the zombie in the chest, causing it to slightly stumble. One, two, three more bullets hit its chest. Finally, the last bullet landed square between the eyes. Addy and Doc shared a look. That wasn't normal; 10K never missed.

They watched as 10K practically stomped away back to their van. Warren wasn't going to let it go. She marched to him, grabbed him by the shoulder, and faced him towards her.

He shrugged her off. He snapped, "What!?"

She demanded, "What was that!?"

He huffed, "Who cares. It's dead, isn't it?"

He turned around and went into the back of the van. Addy walked up beside Warren, "What's his problem?"

"Isn't it obvious," Doc said, "The kid's tired."

Murphy joined them, "Oh puh-lease. He shouldn't. He sleeps more than us. Eats more than us. If anything, he should be more awake than us!"

Doc shook his head, "You guys don't get it, man? He's a growing boy."

Vasquez interrupted their circle, "I may be newer to this group, but even I can tell that he's an adult. What's this "growing boy" crap?"

Doc responded, "Nah man. He's still a teenager. Like a 16-17 year old one. He's still getting acne and all that jazz."

And that's when Warren remembered. He really was a teenager, and like most teenagers, 10K needs a lot of energy. The boy, like the rest of them, was living off of portions of canned food, crickets, and dog food. Of course, he slept so much! Though she didn't like that he yelled at her, and they will talk about it later, she understood why he was so upset.

Warren marched back to the car, "Alright! Let's get going before more puppies and kittens show up."

The rest followed her. They got in their spots again. 10K looked incredibly angry as he sat in his seat next to Doc. Warren buckled herself in the driver's seat next to Murphy. She called back, "Hey, Precious. Go to sleep, okay?"

10K's angry expression melted away. He looked at her with something akin to hope in his eyes, "Really?"

She smiled, "Yeah, Baby"

Murphy sputtered as 10K happily leaned against Doc. Murphy asked, "Why? What, can anyone just go nighty-night whenever they throw a fit or something?"

Warren shot back at him, "He's a teenager living off of dog food, Murphy! Let him sleep."

She started the car and drove off. She looked in the rearview mirror and saw Doc drape an arm over 10K, who had a smile on his sleeping face.
