After the two girls had left the movie theater, Kagura persuaded Sakaki to join her for some ice cream. They walked for a little bit until they found a van selling ice cream by the side of the road. "What can I get for you?" The Ice Cream Man asked. Kagura ordered two large cones for them. She paid the man and handed Sakaki the cone. The two girls walked over to a bench nearby and began to lick their ice cream. "Normally I don't eat ice cream, but I was just craving it so bad today." Kagura mentioned. "How come?" Sakaki asked. Kagura shrugged. "I don't know," she began, "I just felt like eating it, that's all."

"No, how come you don't eat it?" Sakaki clarified. "Ohh!" Kagura exclaimed. "I normally try to eat healthy foods, you know, like rice and steak. I can eat whatever I want and not pack on the pounds, but I wanna make sure I'm giving my body the best stuff."

"That's interesting." Said Sakaki. The two were silent for a moment. "Hey, Sakaki." Kagura said to her friend. "Hm?" Her friend replied.

"I was wondering, are you doing ok today?" Kagura went a little red and stared down at what was left of her ice cream cone. "Yeah, I'm ok, how come?" Asked Sakaki.

"I was just checking up on you, was all." Kagura's eyes were still firmly affixed upon her ice cream cone. Sakaki went silent for a moment and stared at her ice cream cone too. "I'm...I'm ok with that, too." Sakaki answered her friend. Kagura looked over at Sakaki, who was still looking at the cone. "Uh..." Kagura began, trying to change the subject. "You know, I heard somewhere that ice cream is actually really good for making you feel better."

Sakaki looked over at Kagura, who had turned back towards her ice cream. "If it's ok with you..." Sakaki began, "...just, being here with you...that's enough to make me happy."

Kagura and Sakaki looked at eachother. The cat loving girl softly smiled at the tomboy, who smiled back shortly after. "I'm thankful you're my friend." Kagura said.

"Me too." Sakaki said.

After they were done eating their ice cream, they stood up and said goodbye to eachother. Before they departed, though, Kagura had something to ask Sakaki. "Hey, are you doing anything tomorrow?" She asked the tall, black haired girl. Sakaki shook her head. "Do you want to have a sleepover at my place tomorrow?" Kagura offered. "Yeah, sure." Sakaki said and nodded her head. Kagura smiled and gave Sakaki a big thumbs up. The two said goodbye to one another and went their seperate ways. Sakaki was the first to arrive back home. "What's that on your head?" Her father asked as she walked though the door. She turned and faced him head on. "Cat ears." She said after she took her shoes off, pointing up at them. Her father nodded. "They look cute." He said. Sakaki blushed, because she likes being called cute. Her heart began to warm grow warm. "My friend invited me to have a sleepover with her tomorrow night." She told her father. "Is it ok if I spend the night there?"

Her father nodded again. "Of course, I'll be out of the house the next few days getting ready for school, so that's fine." He explained. Sakaki bowed and then went upstairs to prepare a bag for tomorrow.

Kagura arrived home a little later on, sprinting through the door. She kicked her shoes off and made a beeline for her room. "NO RUNNING!" Her mother yelled as she darted up the stairs. "Sorry mom!" Kagura shouted back from atop the stairs. She swung the door to her bedroom open and began to clean as fast as she could. She organized her videogames, threw a pile of dirty clothes into a hamper, and began to change her bedsheets. While she was in the middle of putting fresh pillowcases on her pillow, her Mother entered her room and began to speak. "What's with all the banging?" She asked her daughter. Kagura stopped for a moment. "Uh, I'm tidying up." She sheepishly answered. "How come?" Her mother asked out of a suspicion that something was up.

"I, uh...invited a friend to spend the night tomorrow." Kagura again sheepishly answered, scratching the back of her head and looking away from her mother. "Did you ask me or your father if it was ok, first?" Her mother retorted.

"No..." Kagura shamefully replied. Her mother sighed. "You're just like your father, you know that?" Her mother told her. Kagura was so quiet for a moment. "Is it ok if my friend stays over tomorrow night?"

"Is all your homework done?" Her mother asked.

"Yeah." Kagura answered.

"All of it?"

"Yeah, it's all done, Mom, promise!"

"Then sure. Do you want the spare futon?"

"Yes please."

"I'll go grab it for you, clear a space for it on the floor."

As her mother left the room, Kagura went back to making the bed, preparing for her cat loving friend to spend the night tomorrow. When it came tome for Kagura to fall asleep that night, she tossed and turned, eargerly awatiing the sleepover with her friend.
