The Finale Of The First Part: The Station Square Conflict
Chapter 15- The Spirit Of Heroism Still Shines Bright, Even If It Is A Dim One
Following what has happened in Station Square, Mystic Ruins was one of the unfortunate areas that were hit by Infinite's virtual cannons. Humans, Mobians and animals alike are frantically running to safety. One little girl finds herself stranded in the forest and is about to get attacked by an escaped prisoner, until Mighty the Armadillo comes down from above and hits the prisoner with a heavy Double Axe Handle. His friend Ray swoops in to take the little girl back to her parents. "Mighty! Be careful, alright!"
Mighty cracks his knuckles and assumes a fighting pose, grinning as well. "Yea I will….Alright buddy, you had made a grave mistake crossing paths with me!"
Back at the Station Square, the heroes eventually took care of the Phantom Copies. As the group makes their way to G.U.N HQ, Shadow takes notice of Silver's bitter expression and sits next to him on the helicopter they are in. "We will take them down and bring Sonic back from their clutches. Silver is taken aback by this and looks to see Shadow with a determined look on his face and nods, "Yea…we will!"
As a result of Infinite's attack, numerous villains are wreaking havoc everywhere. Many prisons were destroyed by his cannons, which caused this massive wave of criminality and villainy to rise. Not longer than six months was all it took for Earth to become a no man land where survival was the only thing that matters. Chronos was at the top of the food chain, conquering majority of the planet with Infinite allowing his generals to rule over the areas they had conquered. Only a few isolated areas are still free from their control. All hope is not lost however, as those among Sonic's friends and G.U.N decide to continue the fight. Together, they form a rag-tag team called the Resistance to combat Chronos's forces. They would take on intermediate rescue missions, with their heavy-hitters e.g., Shadow, Knuckles, Blaze, Silver, Sally, Espio, G-merl and Mighty (recently joined the group, when he encountered Knuckles and Team Chaotix in one of their rescue missions) taking on the combat missions.
Having lost it during the six months, Tails returned to the group after a pep-talk with Knuckles and is the Resistance's main inventor for what he calls the Wispons, being a gadget where the user harnesses the Hyper-go-on energy from the Wisps and uses them to channel the properties of the respective Wisps' Colour Power without causing the user to undergo a transformation. He had contacted the Wisps through a robotic messenger with the native language implemented for their assistance, with the Mother Wisp immediately consent to this and a few Wisps were sent to Earth as a result. He also created various training facilities to reinforce their allies fighting capabilities, with the help of some of G.U.N's top scientists. Tails quickly bonded well with one of the scientist's Cosmo who was from a plant-like alien species and is the sole survivor of her kind. Shadow has been attempting to utilise his Super Form State, to the point where he could activate the transformation without the use of the Chaos Emeralds along with Knuckles and Silver. Blaze has been doing the same thing, but without the Sol Emeralds.
Elsewhere, in a supposedly inescapable, closed-off dimension created by the Phantom Ruby where nothing exists known as Null Space. Sonic is seen fighting various versions of his past foes such as the Death Egg Robot, Perfect Chaos, Metal Overload, Erazor Djinn etc in Null Space that is a purple void with floating cubes and net-like grids above and below that extend to infinity. The only solid ground here is a road made up of purple cubes with lightning swirling around it. Sonic has been tirelessly fighting them, going on hidden Grind Rails to avoid most fights with his opponents. However, he would always find himself forced to battle due to their sheer numbers constantly increasing. In spite of that, Sonic would still preserve against the overwhelming adversity, overtime increasing in power and strength due to the harsh conditions forcing his body to adapt. "HA!...Even when the odds are against me, I just gotta do what I've gotta do, that's all!"
