4 years have passed since the events of Sonic Lost World, as Sonic and his friends experienced peace for a while. Until, a new villainous organisation known as Chronos begins their plans for a brand new world in their image. Sonic and co. go into battle against Chronos, encountering familiar and different faces and forming unlikely alliances along the way to defeat their enemies.

2/4 Parts- The War Between The Resistance & Chronos

Chapter 16- Outer Space Infiltration

One month later, the Resistance's core members are currently discussing their current situation like narrowly lying low from Chronos radars and having built a safe haven for the innocent survivors. Not long after, the G.U.N Commander enters bearing good news. "From our espionage unit commanded by Rouge and her second in-command Bunnie, Sonic was trapped in a dimension known as Null Space. From the information they have gotten from one of Chronos's secret bases, the only way to enter the dimension is under two conditions: a power source that rivals the Phantom Ruby and the ability to warp time and space. Replacing Dr. Eggman's Death Egg, Chronos had made it their own and was undetected from our scanners until now."

Over the course of the following week, the Resistance had formulated a plan to infiltrate the base and find out more information on Chronos and their master plan. While, Shadow and co. consisting of Blaze, Knuckles, Tails, Cosmo, a few G.U.N scientists and Silver begin the preparations to enter Null Space and rescue Sonic. The G.U.N Commander sends a squad of four; Amy, Sally, Antonie and Mighty to the Spaceport, originally Chemical Planet but all of its classic looks and designs had been alerted to match Chronos motif with their insignia plaster all over. The group launch a direct assault, heavily guarded by armed foot soldiers and after much effort, the Resistance manages to steal a shuttle.

Back at the Resistance HQ, Rouge and her team return back from their successful espionage mission. Rouge talks with the Commander with something she learnt unexpectedly, during the mission. "It seems that at once, Chronos and Dr. Eggman had an alliance." The Commander raises an eyebrow upon hearing this from Rouge. "If so, what happened to Dr. Eggman since Chronos broke their alliance. He hasn't been seen for months!"

A distress signal from one of his squadrons at Mystic Jungle displayed itself on one of the screens, alerting the two and ending their conversation.

Meanwhile, Mighty and the rest head to the outer space base. Once onboard, they split up in teams of two and use communicator devices to contact one another if they are in danger. Sooner or later, Mighty and Antonie are confronted by Zavok. With the prior knowledge he has about Zavok from Amy and Knuckles, he knows Zavok's personality and lightly chuckles seeing him on Chronos's side. "To see someone as prideful as you, Zavok. Aligning themselves with Chronos is quite a shock"

Zavok smirks upon hearing Mighty's witty comment. "Huh? While I don't see eye-to-eye with them, I respect those that prove themselves worthy in my eyes. Infinite is one of them, I am more interested to see what kind of world he creates."

Zavok hurls multiple red energy balls at Antonie and Mighty, that in contact with reaching his desired opponents can function also as explosive projectiles. Mighty and Antonie avoid suffering any major damage and Mighty glances at Antonie. "Antonie, leave Zavok to me and scout the nearby area for any important information about Chronos."

Once Antonie leaves, Mighty winds up his shoulder. "Alright, Zavok! Let's Dance!"

Mighty lunges towards Zavok and delivers a single strong punch aimed for the gut, which Zavok manages to block with his forearms but is sent skidding backwards a bit by the force of it. Mighty didn't waste a single second and immediately followed up with a quick flurry of punches, Zavok countered back with a one of his own. The two exchange in close-quarter combat, roughly on par with each other as Mighty uses gathered propulsion to match Zavok's punches with the same force, strength and speed. Zavok is confident that he will win, whereas Mighty disagrees with the same look of confidence. "I still have plenty in the tank!".

The two continue their fight, stalemating each other. Soon, both Mighty and Zavok landed a punch on each other's face. Zavok briskly overwhelms Mighty and rams his body into Mighty, knocking them into another floor. Zavok then pins Mighty against a wall, taunting the armadillo in the process. "HA! All that talk and yet here you are, a great punching bag for me!". Mighty speedily retaliates with a sturdy headbutt that pushes Zavok back, grinning back at him. "What about you, huh? Naming yourself the almighty Zeti, and yet you became a subservient henchmen for Infinite!"

Zavok clenches his fist and grits his teeth at the same time, before charging at Mighty who does so as well. Zavok punches Mighty in the face and tries to follow up with a kick, only for Mighty to strike back faster than him and deliver a punch of his own. The two go back and forth attacking, blocking and parrying each other strikes at full tilt. The fight briefly takes itself mid-air, with Zavok rapidly firing red energy balls, which Mighty dodges and deflects. However, this only serves simply as diversions for Mighty, as Zavok ruthlessly knees him in the gut. Zavok proceeds to attack the falling Mighty with a punching and kicking barrage, before ending his combo with another red energy ball bigger than his previous ones.
