Chapter 24- The Struggle To Fight Onwards
Knuckles regains his consciousness, wincing in pain from his injuries. "How are we outside?"
Blaze was next to wake up, seeing what remains of the Resistance HQ. "Shadow probably teleported us away before Infinite's massive attack hit us with Chaos Control."
Silver is the last to get up, coughing badly as Blaze goes to comfort him. "We gotta help Shadow, he needs our help!"
Knuckles and Blaze nod in agreement, as the three of them sooner or later reach where Shadow is at. They gasped in anguish at the sight of Infinite about to kill Shadow. Knuckles and Blaze begin powering back to their Super Forms with intense fury, with their auras sparking around them. The two collide with Infinite, trading blows at a rapid sequence.
Knuckles and Blaze's swift offensive assault towards Infinite proves not enough to overpower him, as the jackal still manages to block every one of their speedy manoeuvres. They take their skirmish to the air, as Knuckles and Blaze relentlessly hound on Infinite. Knuckles goes for a hulking Double Axe Handle that was blocked by Infinite, Blaze leaps above Knuckles in a distinctive stance and begins shooting out beams of highly pressurised flames in a punching motion repeatedly, resembling a peacock-like fan of flames.
Infinite manages to block the continuous barrage of flames, but is apparently stuck where he is. In order to end Blaze's attacks, Infinite expels a giant red barrier around his body to vaporise the entire chunk of Blaze's fiery blasts. Knuckles goes for a punch, only for Infinite to smoothly catch his fist in time and fires off a beam through the abdomen. As Knuckles falls down to the ground, Infinite then stabs Blaze numerous times with spears of energy, before making them explode with a snap of his fingers, knocking her as well to the ground defeated.
Silver watches on in despair, clutching his head tightly and seeing the beaten and semi-conscious bodies of his heroes. Silver's PTSD resurfaces at that moment, recalling the death of his parents in a similar manner to how Shadow, Knuckles and Blaze are presented on the ground.
Silver angrily punches the ground, as his negative emotions keep building up till the silver hedgehog reaches his breaking point. "INFINITE!"
Silver's energy erupts as a colossal geyser of golden energy that sends ripples of blue lightning across the desolate landscape, surprising everyone. Incensed to no end, Silver's irises disappear and he is glowing brightly, with his aura expanding from the standard golden colour to a dual aura consisting of an intense, light green glow. His power was enough to fracture the ground with every step.
Silver glares at Infinite with renewed ferocity. "INFINITE, I'LL KILL YOU!"
Infinite ignores Silver's rageful screams, gauging his battle power. "Ah! The explosive fury of seeing your loved ones at death doors brought out your hidden latent potential…young one. From my standpoint, your power is even on the same level of Chaos Super Shadow…maybe more?"
Knuckles, Shadow and Blaze barely conscious, react in awe of Silver's incredible power. Silver supercharges his body with extreme intensity, with his power surging through. Silver furiously dashes at the airborne jackal with an incoming punch. Infinite manoeuvres away and fiercely knees Silver in the gut. For all that, an upsurge of adrenaline flows through Silver, as he instantly strikes back with a backhanded punch on Infinite and uses an amplified Psycho Smash straight away. Silver homes on Infinite and attacks him with an elbow strike to the stomach, followed by a ferocious barrage of punches.
He ends his ensemble of attacks by front flipping into a Double Axe Handle and fires off his Psycho Blaster V2. "You're through, Infinite!"
Infinite emerges from the smoke, barely harmed. "I didn't know you were capable of this much power, young one. But you're only delaying the inevitable."
Silver pumps up more power solely on his attacks, regardless Infinite dodges every single of his physical and psychic energy attacks with such speed that he isn't able to follow initially. Infinite backflips to evade Silver's Psycho Shock and counterattacks so rapidly with an unknown rush of strikes.
Silver tries to fight back but Infinite at once closes the distance between them, dodging Silver's psychic attacks whilst forming four energy spheres around Silver to prevent him from escaping. He then combines all of the energy spheres and modifies them as an energy wave.
Infinite cold heartedly pursues Silver, on his hands and knees recovering from Infinite's heavy blows. "Your current state draws out the power of your Super Form beyond its limits, surpassing Shadow in terms of brute strength. However, you keep on pumping Chaos Energy exclusively for your attacks. You viewed your Super Form as a special power up, not spreading the added power evenly throughout your body for maximum efficiency."
Infinite launches a high-speed combination of jabs and kicks, battering Silver from all sides before kneeing him afterwards. Infinite charges up one final, disastrous gut-punch that causes SIlver to revert back to his base form.
Infinite becomes aware of both the Chaos and Sol Emeralds off to the side, raising his hand towards their direction. "My power even eclipses those so-called miracle gems". Infinite proceeds to absorb all of the two sets of Emeralds power, causing them to become inert and lose their lustre with a few cracks.
With the tremendous boost of power he got from the Chaos and Sol Emeralds, Infinite uses an invisible eye blast with the utmost brutality to destroy the Master Emerald, and with the Phantom Ruby modifies the massive green Emerald to a state of being unfixable. Infinite leaves the scene, having destroyed the Resistance's finest fighters and their means of entering Null Space to rescue Sonic.
Shadow goes to help Knuckles back to his feet, while Blaze carries the unconscious body of Silver.
The G.U.N Commander accompanied by Tails and Cosmo went to see if they were okay. "Shadow, Knuckles, Blaze..what happene…" The G.U.N Commander stops his sentence halfway as he, Tails and Cosmo take a quick look of shock at the darkened Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald shattered into pieces.
Knuckles could only utter to them. "We are in the endgame now."
Two weeks after the Infinite's invasion on Resistance HQ, Eclipse conquered over 75% of the planet. The Resistance fought back as much as they could, while valiant it only left them enduring numerous casualties with some of their heavy-hitters still recovering from their grievous injuries against Infinite. Knuckles told Sally what Infinite told him about the three of them, and struggles to fix the Master Emerald.
In the afternoon, Rouge and the G.U.N Commander are chatting amongst themselves on any battle plan they could use to gain the upper hand. Out of nowhere, their system announces that multiple intruders had branched their extra base of operations. Everyone armed themselves for battle, to see Dr. Eggman on his Egg Mobile along with Metal Sonic and G-23.
Sage frantically flies in front of Dr. Eggman, putting her hand out. "Wait! We aren't here to attack!"
The G.U.N Commander notices the sense of desperation from Sage's voice. "Soldiers…hold your fire…Now, speak!"
Sage bows her hand, thankfully for the Commander not telling his men to attack them. "Thank you! We came here for a proposal…an alliance with you all to defeat Chronos!
