Chaos. Total chaos. Those were the only words that came to my mind trying to describe the morning when all the Weasleys and their guest Harry were preparing for the trip.

Molly was overanxious - she went through her children's items to double check that they took all that was need and in case of the twins, that they did not take anything that was not needed - of course little did she know that a lot of their prank making supplies were shrunken and hidden deep in their pockets, courtesy to one of their own inventions - some kind of potion that replicated effects of shrinking charms, albeit temporarily and some space expansion charm - well at least Ginny told me so recently.

Speaking about Ginny, she was excited. Like very excited about finally going to school, finally being able to actually cast spells - not just read about them. Though she was getting anxious about being late as the time was running out and mid-journey to Kings Cross Fred and George realised they forgot their brooms and they had to turn back… At least she did not forget to take my home - the diary - I made sure to remind her during yesterday's evening chat, to simply put it in the trunk at the end of our chat.

I thought about what I did remember was supposed to happen today - my past life memories were hazy and it's not like I could remember whole books word by word, or movies - not sure if they would even help as I do remember hearing they do skip a lot of things from books and even bend the plot slightly, just to fit in budget or get some extra drama..

I somehow remembered Harry and Ron going to Hogwarts by a flying car for some reason…. Ah that house elf blocked the magic entrance… or something. Well, other students just went to train normally, so it should not affect me. And as the young Riddle's soul was swallowed? I guess better to say replaced by me, there's nothing to worry about Chamber of Secrets… so I guess that leaves the only problem of somehow not fully possessing the innocent young girl by the end of the year…

The twins quickly picked their brooms and the trip continued - it was nice seeing something other than the Burrow for a change, the sight of muggle city brought nostalgia to my mind as I started musing if I do somehow get a body, could I use a smartphone once they are invented and widespread? I remembered electronics going haywire near magic, but why was that? Was magic some sort of electromagnetic wave? Why was this car seemingly working fine then? Perhaps the engine and other electrical parts were replaced with some magic equivalent?

As I was lost in my fantasy about having a working smartphone in a magical world, the car stopped as we arrived at the station. As the Weasleys neared platform nine, they stopped to greet some blond person - I could see a small child near him, about Ginny's age.

Based on the chat between Arthur and, as he called the man - Xenophilius, I inferred that the girl must be Luna Lovegood. Just as I connected the dots, I saw Ginny already smiling and walking closer to chat with her.

"Hello Luna!"

"Hello Ginny" - she smiled and waved back - "I did not expect to meet you here I see you have made some new friends, she said, glancing over to Harry, and then glancing to her trunk of all things. As I was shocked once again, thinking things like how does she know that, and will Ginny notice this even? Though my worries were unfounded as Ginny just blushed after her friend glanced at Harry and avoided answering by changing the subject to school. Luna did not seem to mind and did not change conversation back to me of all things, though perhaps Ginny would brush it off as one of her imaginary creatures…

The girls continued chatting and did not notice the time nearing the departure date until Molly urged her to go.

Passing the barrier did not feel like anything, but the sight through Ginny's eyes did amaze me - Hogwarts Express was somehow so fabulous to look at, so interesting, it had so many little details, and looked like a real train from a museum - though it did probably run on just magic - or perhaps they just transfigured air to coal temporarily?.

As Ginny bid her final farewells and climbed into the train with Luna by her side, I could overhear Molly urging her husband on checking on Ron and Harry and then some bump - perhaps the barrier was already locked, but Ginny was already inside for me to hear anything more.

Inside the train was very spacious. Not like muggle trains I was used to, which were just seats in all wagons to maximise the number of passengers - no there was a wide corridor with doors to compartments on both sides and even enough space in the corridor for a car to pass by. Definitely some sort of expansion charm I mused as Ginny led the way and looked for an empty compartment - which took a while as they were one of the last ones to board the train.

Still, it was quite an interesting experience - I could see the people Ginny looked at through her eyes, I did not know their names, but I could guess some of them - one compartment was nearly empty, with a bushy haired girl reading a book, while occasionally glancing worriedly through the window to the now empty station - Hermione Granger I assumed. Another compartment had a young kid with blonde shining hair speaking enthusiastically along with some kids that looked a little stupid with blank looks on their faces looking at him - I would place my bets on those being Draco Malfoy and his lackeys. Another compartment had a young, slightly chubby boy which could be Neville, but I could not be sure like the other ones - he can't be the only chubby wizard Harry age now can he?

A dozen or so compartments later, Ginny finally managed to find an unoccupied one and pushed the doors open. As the girls did not expect any more company, seeing as they were one of the last ones to arrive, they simply put their trunks on nearby seats and sat comfortably nearby - it would be a long journey ahead.

Just moments later the train had finally started to move forwards. And soon enough, Ginny took a stack of books from her trunk and started practising spells. Luna looked at her curiously, but soon joined her and it turned out she read all the books too and could perform most of the spells - they even corrected each other on some failing ones, noticing slight errors in pronunciation or wand movements.

Their practice was interrupted after a while as a bushy haired girl peeked inside. She tried going inside but was stopped by the locked door. As she started knocking, Ginny just glanced at her compartment friend and receiving a 'go ahead' look from her she just waved her wand - "alohomora".

The bushy haired girl entered just a moment later and started chatting with some excitement - "Hello Ginny, I see you have been reading your books, good job! The unlocking charm is one of the required ones for the end of the year exam."

"Thank you" - said Ginny, a slight pink blush decorating her cheeks - "and Hello to you too, Hermione. " - she pointed her wand-free arm to her childhood friend - "by the way this is Luna Lovegood, a dear friend of mine and also a first year"

"Hello Luna. It's nice to meet you, I am Hermione Granger, a second year Griffyndor" - The bushy haired girl waved at her with a smile on her face.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you" - Luna waved back

"Likewise" - suddenly she had a look on her face as if she just remembered why exactly she came here in the first place - "oh by the way I cannot seem to find Harry and Ron anywhere on the train, perhaps you two have seen any of them?"

"They were supposed to climb to the train after us… As we have passed your compartmed just after entering I don't see how they could have missed you. Perhaps they were late and missed the train?"

"I have looked at the station all the time since I saw you enter… I did not see anyone else entering… Sigh. So they missed the train… " - Having that famous I read all about it look she continued - "we will meet them at Hogsmeade stop then, at least according to Hogwarts The History A teacher will apparate to the station and pick up any latecomers an hour or so from train departure" - with a slightly smug look she added - "usually people tend to avoid that as I read sidelong apparition is uncomfortable, and especially bad for underage witches and wizards I guess Ron won't be shovelling half the feast food today"

Ginny smiled and nodded in agreement, while Luna had a dreamy look, looking through the window, eventually she looked back at Hermione.

"I have seen them today after getting into the train, in fact you can see them too, just look over there" - she said pointing to the window.

The girls glanced over, just in time to see a car disappearing in the sky, Hermione just stood there mouth agape as eventually the car flickered and appeared back, you could hardly see the drivers inside, but it was clear one of them had black hair and another had the Weasley red shade.

Finally Hermione broke the silence - "What the hell are they doing! They will get expelled from this!"

"This is dad's car, he would get in trouble at work as well, sigh why can't my brothers behave…."

The trio discussed the situation for a while, but eventually concluded that they could not really do anything to help - the whole train was aware of this based on shoutings from nearby compartments so it was pointless looking for a prefect to inform them, and they had no way to help the boys, not even to reach out to them.

A few hours have passed like that and they instead moved back to what they were doing - practising magic. Hermione stayed with them, somehow excited about giving them various tips and fixing their pronunciations of spells. By the end of the train ride both Ginny and Luna could already get Outstanding in practice of spells and charms according to Hermione's experience, though they would still need to study a bit more for theory - she even suggested they could meet up in library regularly to study and discuss and both witches agreed with the idea.

As the girls excited the train and separated - with Hermione going for the carriage ride, Ginny and Luna climbed into a boat, soon joined by a couple more first year girls as Hargrid led them to the swim across the lake. I watched with amazement as Hogwarts appeared before my eyes - such a spectacular sight, yet I could no longer watch for much longer as Ginny seemed to be too far from me - I could tell as my screen was getting dimmer and blurrier and eventually I was back alone in darkness.

I waited and waited and eventually felt someone picking up Ginny's trunk and then putting it down again - probably the house elves. I stayed in darkness for quite a while, until eventually the screen lit up again - I could see Ginny smiling, proudly wearing red and gold colours trimmed hogwarts robe and following a prefect leading the first years to their dorm.

Eventually she was inside and along with her roommate climbed up to the girls' dorms. Her roommate was called Isabella Prott. I also picked up some more information about her as the girls chatted - she was a halfblood, though her mother was a squab and worked as a position master, while her dad was an elementary school physical education teacher. The girl's polite chat soon turned awkward - it looked like they somehow just did not hit it off together, perhaps only with time they would warm up more and become actual friends, not just friendly roommates.

Then Ginny unpacked, prepared for the next day and picked up the diary to tell me all about her experiences. Even though I had seen most of what she did today, it was still interesting to hear how she interpreted situations on her own. She also thanked me for that hint that sorting hat does respect wishes of students which allowed her to go to Gryffindor as apparently the hat initially wanted to put her to Ravenclaw.

It was a long day for her and our chat did not continue for long. She was very tired from the journey and just washed up and went to sleep.

As midnight approached once again, Ginny's eyes suddenly opened, though they were not the usual light brown, but a darker shade.
