A story created by Proximatic / Dan. A crossover between Hyperdimension Neptunia and Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins).
. . .
After being witnessed snooping around the Boar Hat tavern by the Serpent Sin of Envy, Neptune was introduced to the Seven Deadly Sins: Meliodas, Diane, Ban, King, Gowther, and Merlin.
Despite nobody knowing who Neptune was, they took a shine to her and thought she was friendly enough to allow her to party down with them the night before the medal ceremony being held by King Bartra.
All seemed well until Ban and Meliodas - alongside an eavesdropping King - discussed something important. Ban is leaving the Seven Deadly Sins. For what purpose, he merely says that it's something he has to do as atonement.
After a brief confrontation by Neptune and King, with the former trying to convince him to stay with the Seven Deadly Sins, Ban walks off to the Fairy King's Forest to follow through with his plan of atonement. King follows him, curious as to what he might do.
We continue where we last left off. . .the early morning of the day of the medal ceremony.

The sound of collective yawns arises in the bottom floor of the Boar Hat tavern as Meliodas, Diane, Hawk, and Elizabeth awaken from their slumbers. Today was the day when the Seven Deadly Sins would be honored by the King of Liones: Bartra Liones. Their heroic actions saved the Kingdom from the hands of Hendrickson, a level-headed individual at first who was slowly driven to power by his research.
"Fwaaah. . .ohayō!"
A cheerful Meliodas stretches his arms and legs to prepare himself for the ceremony. The sun started to rise over the long, mountainous horizon and bring along the blue, oceanic sky with it.
"Hey, where's Nep? She was just here with us, wasn't she?"
The CPU walks in through the door, holding her N-Gear in her hands and pressing the face buttons multiple times out of nervous habit.
"I'm baaack! I just went for a quick walk 'cause, y'know, a protagonist needs a bit of a break from all the snoring I hear, too! So, I just went outside and listened to the sound of nature and all those thingy things!"
"Hmm! A walk! I can always appreciate a good feel for nature!"
"So, today's the day of the ceremony, right? Where that King Garter guy said he would give you all medals for the stuff you did to save the kingdom. I dunno all the details, but I guess you were the protagonist of this arc and saved the day by beating the super-duper evil, crazy, powerful bad guy! Right?"
"'Course I did! What else would I have done?"
"Lost."
"Oh, can it."
"Danchō. . .keep it dooown. My head hurts. . ."
Looks like Diane is having a hangover at the moment from last night's party. She did drink quite a lot of alcohol, so needless to say, this isn't the most surprising outcome.
"Oh, good morning, Diane! Ready to get pedaled to the medal today?"
"Right, that's today. . .I guess I can try and get rid of this head pain."
"You know, I've been meaning to ask," Neptune started saying. She's been a bit curious about what Meliodas and the Sins did to deserve these medals of honor.
"What did you actually accomplish? I keep hearing people saying you saved the kingdom and all, but like, you can't just tell me the climax of a plot without giving me the build-up first! That ain't cool! Spoilers are totally rude and mean and I hate them! The writer doesn't, though, but he's honestly weird."
Zip it.
"Ohh, so you wanna know what we did to earn this? Nishishi~! Well, I guess a little trip down memory lane wouldn't hurt too bad!"
"Danchō, it didn't even happen that long ago."
"Hey, hey, hey, don't be so technical about it, Diane!"
"Sooo, are we gonna press that right trigger button and skip the side dialogue and get along with the juicy bits? No filler please, I just wanna know what happened!" Neptune exclaims in a very enthusiastic tone. As someone who has helped save the world from destruction at least three times, she doesn't mind hearing a good story or two about what went down!
"Hmm! Well, essentially, we were forced to go into hiding at first. We were being framed for overthrowing the Kingdom ten years—."
"I saaaid no fillerrrrr!" Neptune shouted in a bit of a teasing tone, wagging her finger at the Captain, to which she was awarded a chop on the head.
"Owiiieee! Hey, you can't attack the Protagonist of Protagonists in a cutscene!"
"Baka."
"Just get to the point. . ."
"Not too long ago, we defeated a person by the name of Hendrickson, one of the two Grand Holy Knights. He was doing research on the Demon Clan, which lead him to use the blood of a deceased Red Demon in order to gain power after we went to take back the Kingdom. He went crazy. . .it seemed like he was being possessed by someone. It felt strangely familiar. . .but needless to say, he's no more, and we don't have to worry about him. After all, we all pitched in and helped somehow!"
"Hm! Hm! Naruhodo*."
* Naruhodo means "I see" in Japanese.
It might not have been a very expositional story, but at the same time, she got the answer to her question, and she's content with that. Putting her hands behind her head, Neptune walks out of the door of the Boar Hat. The sun was now above the horizon with the blue sky accompanying it. Gentle winds brushed up against her hair as she stared towards the Kingdom.
"Saaay, wouldn't it be easier if we all went there earlier so we don't have to worry about being late? Better now than never, like a QTE!"
"Sate, sate, sate! I suppose it wouldn't be a bad thing to arrive there before the expected time! I guess I'll go wake everyone up first.
Heeey! Mer-lin. . .Gooowther!"
Meliodas' voice faded as the CPU chuckled, taking a few steps down the stairs. It was truly a beautiful day today. . .perfect weather for the ceremony.

Your guess is as good as mine about the name of the song.
The time for the ceremony is now here; the Seven Deadly Sins were situated in front of the entrance to the castle as a large crowd gathered around them, including both citizens and Holy Knights. Of course, seeing how this a group of new friends that she just made, Neptune was there to watch the ceremony unfold as well!
"Can you believe it? They saved the kingdom even though they plotted to overthrow the kingdom ten years ago!"
"I'm still having a hard time coming to terms with it. . .but I guess they did save the kingdom and all of us, so I can't complain too much."
"But why them? What about all the other Holy Knights who fought against Hendrickson valiantly? Why don't they get honored too?"
"I'm sure His Majesty appreciates all the Holy Knights too, but he just wanted to specifically honor the Seven Deadly Sins because they contributed the most to stopping him!"
As conversations and commotion went on about her, Neptune stood amongst the crowd, waiting for the ceremony and the medal-awarding to begin. The King and Princess stood on what looked to be a large, red carpet or banner as five guards surrounded them on both sides with the banners of the Kingdom of Liones spread behind them. Elizabeth held a small object with a purple cloth draped over it with seven medals sitting on top of the cloth.
The Sins themselves stood patiently in front of the castle, all except for Hawk, who was wolfing down a bowl of scraps like there was no tomorrow. Merlin spoke up about it,
"Hawk, don't forget we're in front of His Majesty. Let's try to be respectful."
To which Hawk retorted,
"It's fine! It doesn't bother me at all!"
"So, he's back to his original size, huh?" Meliodas inquired with his hands on his hips as he watched the pig eat away at the scraps without issue.
"Ban and King are absent, it seems," Gowther raised. Since Ban and King had left in the early hours of sunrise, it's not surprising that the rest of the Sins, barring Meliodas, are curious and clueless about it.
"Jeez, what are they doing? They're going to be too late!" Diane exclaimed with a bit of a frustrated and saddened tone.
The King raised his hand and gestured for silence to fall upon the air. As they saw the motion, the crowd started to quiet down and focus on the center of attention: the Seven Deadly Sins.
"The Seven Deadly Sins. Along with the. . .the Scraps Disposal?"
Elizabeth leaned into her father's ear and whispered to him the correct title.
"The Order of Scraps Disposal. . .!"
Clearing his throat to try it once more, King Bartra raises his voice a tad as to truly announce their heroism.
"The Seven Deadly Sins and the Order of Scraps Disposal. Today, I commend your heroics for the sake of the kingdom, and hereby award you these medals of honor. Please step forward when your name is—."
"I object!" the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins shouted out. This brought about a wave of surprise amongst the crowd, the King, the Princess, and Neptune.
"I object to those medals being bestowed!"
"Wh-what did you say, Sir Meliodas?" the King inquired as his eyes widened in shock. Elizabeth, too, was shocked and a sweatdrop rolled down her cheek.
"Meliodas-sama?" Elizabeth asked with a concerned voice.
"That's what some of you out here want to say, am I right?"
It seems like Meliodas believes that there are some people within the crowd who are against the idea of the Seven Deadly Sins, those said to have plotted to overthrow the monarchy and kingdom ten years ago, being rewarded for their turnaround and eventually saving the kingdom from great danger. They fell silent as they waited for one person to possibly speak up about it.
"If you have something you want to tell me, then come say it to my face! I'll be happy to listen!"
Besides the sound of Hawk eating his scraps, it was deafeningly silent in a pretty tense and scary way. Nobody wanted to speak up, and they were all on edge besides Neptune, seeing how she didn't see the need to object to heroes being awarded for their courage and efforts.
After a few moments without sound, the air was finally rejuvenated with the sounds of boots pressing and clicking against the ground. Some of the Holy Knights seemed to be in utter awe.
"H-hey, those three Holy Knights. . .aren't they the Pleiades of the Azure Sky?"
"Did you say the Pleiades? The ones who serve the assistant Grand Holy Knight, Sir Denzel? Those Pleiades of the Azure Sky?"
"Platinum* Dogedo! Platinum* Waillo! Diamond* Deathpierce!"
* In Nanatsu no Taizai, Holy Knights are ranked by means of their power. From highest rank to lowest rank, the order is Diamond, Platinum, Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, and Crystal.
"Hoooh? I could've sworn I heard a few grumblers in there, honestly. Looks like we only have three people being honest right now."
Neptune couldn't help but get a tiny snicker out of that one.
"So, what's your deal with me?" Meliodas asked as he looked up at the three Pleiades with his arms folded. His tone sounded uninterested and disappointed.
The silver-haired man in the middle — Deathpierce — spoke with confidence.
"We would like to get a firsthand look at the power of the legendary order of Holy Knights who saved the Kingdom from evildoers."
Deathpierce's violet eyes looked down at the Captain of the Sins, a seemingly benevolent smile on his face.
"What do you say, Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, Sir Meliodas?"
A castle knight ran up to the Pleiades and Meliodas as they stared each other down.
"Sir Deathpierce! We're in the presence of His Majesty! Surely you can't be suggesting—!"
"Thanks to the plot of the two Grand Holy Knights. . .no. Those two traitors, we were unfortunately assigned to a remote post along with Sir Denzel. So, unless we ascertain your power for ourselves, we cannot accept this outcome."
King Bartra lets out a quiet sigh before reopening his eyes.
"Alright! Do as you wish."
"F-Father!" Elizabeth was only growing more concerned by the second.
"We are grateful, Your Majesty," Deathpierce says.
"I'll go first," the tall, brown-haired man on the left of Deathpierce said. That was Dogedo. He was bulky and rather fit, cracking his knuckles as he took a few steps forward toward Meliodas.
"Hold it for a sec," Hawk interjected, with Dogedo looking down at the pig.
"Magic, 290. Strength, 470. Spirit, 100. Power Level of 860."
Hawk was reading out Dogedo's Power Level on top of the specific numbers in his Magical power, Strength, and Spirit. He had never possessed this ability before. . .so why the sudden gain?
"This pig. . .what is it?"
"Sorry he's so arrogant and expository."
"Hey, not bad at all! But sadly, you're no match for me!" Hawk exclaimed in a pompous tone.
"The new earring the Scraps Disposal Captain is wearing. . ." Gowther pointed out the small spiral earring on Hawk's left ear. It was a golden earring that spun out with three limbs and a red gem in the center.
"That's the Magical Eye, isn't it?" the hot-pink-haired Sin inquired.
"That's right," Merlin confirmed, "it's a present from me. Just as a token of my thanks to a key player in saving the kingdom from ruin, see."
The Magical Eye. An ear accessory that allows the wearer to 'see' an individual's Power Level by focusing on them. It tells them their total Power Level, and by concentrating even further, the specific statistics can be seen: Magic, Strength, and Spirit, each contributing to the Power Level.
"Heeey, hold on a second, y'all!" a certain pinkette yelled out from the crowd as she walked forward, making her way through the crowd.
"Th-that's. . .the young girl from yesterday," King Bartra said to himself.
"Hoh? And who is this little kid?" Dogedo asked as he turned around.
"Y'know, if you're so curious about whether or not Meliodas saved the kingdom or whatever, why not just ask the people around ya? You don't gotta do this all interrogative, story mode-style, or even have to duke it out with him like in a fighting game! Just ask the people a question and they'll give ya an answer—gwah?!"
"Now then, we can't have the audience trying to ruin someone's performance on stage, now, can we?" Deathpierce picked Neptune up by the arm and held her up without hesitation.
"Hey, hey, Nep, you don't need to stand up for me. I was gonna fight the guy anyways. He seemed pretty insistent about it."
"Hmph. . .you're just as stubborn as that Ban guy. Just like a Chocopi with its magic hat destroyed!"
Deathpierce raised an eyebrow in confusion.
'This kid. . .why can't I sense any magical power from her [1]? Is she some sort of Human who can't have her power be sensed?'
Lowering Neptune onto the ground, he didn't bother to usher her back into the crowd, thus she just stood over to the right of Elizabeth and Bartra, looking at Dogedo and Meliodas stare each other down. Scraping his foot to the right and getting into a ready position, Dogedo towered over Meliodas.
"Now then. . .let's begin, Mr. Hero!"

Today, I've decided to bring in another special guest! Say hiii~!"
"Konnichiwaaa! My name's Diane, and I'm the Serpent Sin of Envy!"
"Yeah, thank Histy we had Merlin shrink ya down before getting you inside the studio. We would've had ourselves a Dark CPU situation and I would've had to go all Sharing Field mode on your precious li'l rump!"
"E-ehhh?! I don't want to get hurt!"
"Hehe. . .relax, Diane, I ain't gonna hurt you! You and I have such a high Lily Rank that hurting you would be like hurting my sister!
Which I would never do. You readers in the reviews better not say I would."
"K-Kowai*. . ."
* Kowai translates to "scary" or "frightening".
"Weeell, anyways, how's it feel to be on Nepstation for the first time? Meliodas was the secondary star of the show last time we did it, so I wanna hear your thoughts!"
"Oooh, I'm so nervous. . .I've never shown myself to the public this much before!"
"Wait, how do you know so much already?"
"Mwehehe. . .that's a secret!"
"Heeey, you didn't go snooping around my N-Gear, did you?!"

Standing with his hands on his hips, looking totally nonchalant and relaxed, Meliodas looked into Dogedo's eyes. The latter held a cocky smile as his frame towered over Meliodas'.
"Whenever you're ready," the Captain says.
"Danchō, you shouldn't taunt him too much. . ." Diane spoke in a worried tone as she leaned down, holding a hand close to her chin.
"Hoi, hoi, hoiii!"
With a slightly crazed, toothy grin, Dogedo immediately started throwing a maelstrom of punches at Meliodas too fast for the untrained eye to see. And yet, Meliodas is sidestepping and weaving through this myriad maze of attacks casually as if it's any other day for him. Hawk stares in surprise.
"Woah. . .I can't see him at all."
Each punch from Dogedo continued to be evaded by the Dragon Sin before a casual hook punch was thrown to the former's cheek, sending him flying across the entrance with his face scraping against the stone. Neptune temporarily raised her eyebrows. . .he's certainly got the talent and the power inside. But she can sense that he's barely going all-out with that level of strength. He's only using a fifth of his power at this rate.
"All right!" the Serpent Sin jovially squealed out after Meliodas landed the punch to Dogedo.
But of course, Dogedo wasn't going to just stop there. His hands twitched a bit, and as he stood back up on his feet, he couldn't help but laugh a little bit.
"Is that all you got? I barely felt it!"
The CPU scoffs at that confident remark; there's no way in hell he 'barely felt it' considering he seemed to be in considerable pain when receiving it.
"That's all it took to defeat those two traitors?" the Pleiaide asked, "That just means that Hendrickson and Dreyfus weren't anything special! They were merely poor substitutes for the previous Grand Holy Knight who died such a sudden death. Nothing more than props.
They didn't have what it takes to be Grand Holy Knights on their own merits.
If I had known that, I would've just eliminated them myself!"
Meliodas' expression turned a little more upset.
"I'm not gonna go to bat for them, but they instantly would've killed a guy like you. You would've stood no chance."
"What was that?!" Dogedo turned around angrily.
"I dunno what made them carry out that stupid plot of trying to unseal the Demon Clan, but the men I knew were Holy Knights with hearts trying to do the right thing. And they had the strength to prove it."
Pounding a fist against where his heart is, Meliodas spoke more,
"It looks like you might have the strength, but what you're lacking in is this; the drive. The love. The heart.
You know what that makes you? A Holy Knight failure."
Swiping his right hand across the air and clenching a fist, Dogedo raises his voice.
"Don't give me that crap! A Holy Knight only needs one thing! The power to pulverize his enemies!"
Another storm of punches was thrown at Meliodas by Dogedo, to which Hawk showed a lot of concern for Meliodas and shouted,
"Oh no! You gotta get out of the way, Meliodas! If you trade blows for real, you'll—!"
"We're done here," a certain Goddess' voice said in a darker, frighteningly serious tone as she managed to sneak in without being seen at all and uppercuts Dogedo in the chin and keeping her other hand in her pocket! He was sent flying backward, spinning around a few times before being caught by Deathpierce. Everyone was in shock once they saw the fist of the parka-wearing pinkette raised to the sky from her attack.
"Hoh? Nep, what was that for? I had him all figured out; you kinda ruined my rhythm."
"It was getting boring, of course! I could do all of that in my sleep, honestly! He was such a low-level character that you didn't really need to bother with him."
"Yare yare. . .you're super excitable and ambitious, aren't'cha, Nep?"
"Interruption aside," Deathpierce began to speak as he hoisted an unconscious Dogedo onto his shoulder, "I'd like to apologize on behalf of Dogedo here. We're satisfied now. We're more than convinced of your prowess, Sir Meliodas."
"N-no way. . .this is Meliodas'. . .amazing! Magic, 400. Strength, 960. Spirit, 2010! Power Level, 3,370!"
Meliodas raised a hand up to his chin as if he was about to taunt an enemy.
"Sate, sate, saaate! Which one of you wants to fight me next?"
"How 'bout me?" Neptune says as she stood right next to him, arms in her pockets and looking back at him with a smirk.
"Ehhh? Neptune's gonna fight the Danchō?!"
"We know naught of Neptune's capabilities thus far, whilst Danchō's capabilities have been perfectly shown. This will be a great way to analyze Neptune's battle style," Gowther spoke in a monotone voice. It's like he's some sort of robot. . .
"Sorry, Nep, but I dunno how I feel about fighting a kid in front of all these Holy Knights!"
"You underestimating me?"
That seriously deadly tone returned to Neptune as everyone around her physically recoiled. It's as if it were some sort of ominous shockwave that was sent throughout the air from her voice alone.
"Huh? That's weird. . .for some reason, I can't read Neptune's Power Level [1]! I'm getting blanks! Merlin, what's going on?!" Hawk seems a bit panicked, knowing he can't read Neptune's levels of strength.
"I don't know. It's never been like this before. . .no matter what, the Magical Eye should be able to read someone's Power Level, regardless of how weak or strong they are. For her to not have a readable Power Level. . ."
'Is Danchō in trouble?' Merlin thought to herself. Neptune's case is so irregular that it's causing her usual composed self to sweat a little.
"Well. . .if you're really insistent about it, then I'll fight you, Nep! But don't be too upset if I end up winning, alright?"
"Heh. . .you've got yourself a high-leveled fight, Meliodas! The Colosseum and all the previous big bads have taught me a few things, so I'll make sure it doesn't go to waste!"
Putting both of her hands out in front of her, Neptune materializes a weapon into her grasp; more specifically, her Purple Force blade. A weapon that amplifies Share Energy and converts it into attack power!
"A swordfighter like me? Well, I guess I have no reason to hold back!"
Meliodas pulls out his own sword; a small, yet efficient blade with a cap hilt and rectangular prismatic edge.
"Meliodas-sama. . ."
The tension in the air rises as the two stared each other down. The CPU of Planeptune versus the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins. . .a battle for the history books is about to begin!
End of Chapter 3!
Clarification; [1] - Share Energy typically can't be sensed or measured unless it's by another person who isn't a CPU that uses Share Energy or Negative Energy. This is the case where Ultra Neptune and Umio wonder what Nepgear and Uzume are talking about when the latter two sense Share Energy and point it out. As her power comes from Share Energy, Neptune's strength would therefore be unable to be sensed or measured by those who do not use it themselves, hence why Hawk's Magical Eye does not show any values when he examines, let alone anything at all.
Author's Note: Hi again everyone! I really hope you've been enjoying reading this story up to this point. It's been a lot of fun to write this, and seeing all the different ways I can change or add on to some scenes from the original Nanatsu no Taizai in a way that still fits the overall narrative as well as the characterization of Neptune and the Sins!
On the note of characterization, I want to specifically address that this portrayal of Neptune will be slightly different than the canon portrayal. Whilst most of her elements will remain the same (i.e. her joking, meta, and fourth-wall-breaking attitude, lazy days, bubbly nature, and so on), I will be throwing in some of my own ideas and personal visions of Neptune into the mix. This will include things like more seriousness and less laziness at times. Don't let this deter you from the story, though. I will definitely try to appeal to the things that people enjoy about Neptune, as mentioned before, her positive and joking attitude, but I want to make sure I'm unique enough and stand out from the norm as to not fully piggyback off of the canonical writing.
As a side-note, I really encourage criticism or suggestions to try and make the writing better; this is still a developing story, and anything to try and make it more enjoyable for people is what I want to strive for, so please, leave a helpful review! Even if it's just telling me I'm doing a good job, it gives me a sign that people like what I'm doing right now and that I should continue doing so for the next chapters!
Either way, that's all I wanted to say for now! Laters~!
