A story created by Proximatic / Dan. A crossover between Hyperdimension Neptunia and Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins).

As the day of the medal ceremony arrived, the Seven Deadly Sins were to be honored with these medals in front of the castle with Holy Knights and citizens alike watching them.
However, Meliodas, the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, objected to those medals being bestowed. At least, that's what some thought until he called upon some individuals who he thought were begrudgingly watching this.
That's when three men of the Pleiades of the Azure Sky introduced themselves to Meliodas and explained why they cannot accept an outcome such as this; they wanted to see his power in action.
Dogedo, the taller and most muscular of the Pleiades began a small exhibition with Meliodas, only for it to be interrupted and subsequently ended by Neptune quickly swooping in and delivering an uppercut to Dogedo.
Now, both Meliodas and Neptune are ready to begin a fight of their own, with neither of them planning on holding back as Meliodas himself said so. Their weapons were drawn and they stared each other down.

A silent tension filled the air as the inaudible breeze flowed through across bodies; their hair wavered with the wind as they looked at each other, waiting for one or the other to make the first move.
"Come on, Nep, we don't wanna be here for ages. How 'bout I let you get the fir—?"

At a speed that only the Sins themselves could see, Neptune dashed forward and swung her sword with immense force, as if the air itself was being sliced through. Clashing with Meliodas' blade, it created a brief shockwave, subsequently forming a crater in the ground that barely reached the banner the King and Princess were standing on. Sparks flew as the two metallic weapons dragged their edges against each other, with Meliodas gritting his teeth trying to push back.
"Danchō!" Diane cried out in concern.
Vanishing for a split-second, Neptune made her way around and behind Meliodas, clenching a fist and punching him in the back, sending him up high into the air. Following up on this, the CPU leaped up faster than Meliodas was sent flying, intercepting him with a High Rush attack, slashing him up five times before knocking him back down to the earth beneath them with an axe kick.
"This could be rough for Danchō," Merlin pointed out as she floated there with her arms folded. Never before has she come across an individual with an unreadable Power Level, much less seeing this same individual contend with Meliodas and attack him at such ridiculous speeds.
Colliding with the ground and creating an upheaval of dust from the impact, Meliodas stood there on his two feet and dusted off his outfit's sleeves, continuing to hold his sword in his hand.
"Yare yare. . .already ruining the clothes that Elizabeth got me as a present. That's not very nice of you, Nep."
He was incredibly relaxed and nonchalant about the damage he took, which seemingly implies that it wasn't as effective at first glance. The CPU landed on the ground with gentle acrobatics and held her sword with both of her hands. The two of them slowly circled around each other, their eyes locked together.
"That little surprise attack of yours while I was talking must've been pretty gratifying for you to hit, huh?"
"Hehee. . .if there's one thing that my years as a JRPG character have taught me, it's that catching your opponents off-guard is Winning Strategy 101!"
Both Meliodas and Neptune promptly vanished before everyone's eyes, the dust kicked up by their movements appearing for only a few seconds before it fades. All was silent until. . .
CRAAASH! BOOM-BO-BO-BOOM!
Powerful disruptions in the sky rocked the atmosphere around them; tremors were shaking the ground from the pure force of their fists and swords clashing. Such extreme power and velocity were unlike many that the kingdom has seen and witnessed before! It's rivaling even the monster that was Hendrickson after absorbing the blood of a Demon! Meliodas was not lying when he said he was going to go all-out for a battle like this.
The Sins looked up, and to their utter surprise and disbelief, Neptune was fighting evenly with Meliodas! Their swords clashed and metal clanging ran through the air; Hundreds upon hundreds of sparks ejected from the clashes as they continued to swing their swords at lightning speeds. It was like a rainstorm of these sparks; neither sword was being effectively worn, and neither fighter was being effectively damaged.
"Th-this is incredible!"
"I didn't think there would be someone who could stand up to Sir Meliodas like this!"
"Waillo, I think it's time we take our leave," Deathpierce said as he watched the fight some more.
"Mmh," Waillo agreed with a sound. Turning around, the Pleiades, with an unconscious Dogedo still hoisted on Deathpierce's shoulder, walk out of the front gate to the castle and leave.
The battle in the skies raged on as attacks were being thrown out left and right, quicker than one could ever hope to be. After a final clash that pushed both of them away from each other, causing them to land on opposite walls that surrounded the castle.
"Sate, sate, sate! I didn't think you'd be able to push me so casually! I can tell you aren't even using the full extent of your power, Nep! You must be hiding something else!"
"Huhu! A skilled hawk always hides its talons or however the phrase goes! But it's not like I can't tell you're not hiding something, either!"
"N-no way! Meliodas and Neptune. . .they aren't even going all out?!" Hawk shouted out in surprise. Once the crowd heard those words, they instantly widened their eyes and opened their mouths in shock. Even Diane, one of the Seven Deadly Sins who has seen Meliodas' full power in action before, is shocked at this information.
'Even though I don't have enough Shares to transform. . .I should be able to keep even with him. But this feeling I'm sensing from him. . .it feels like Negative Energy. . .'
"You've only been using your sword and your hands to attack, so that means you've probably got some sort of magic you're waiting to use on me, right Nep?"
"Sanjūni-X Blade!"
The 32-X Blade, or 32-bit Mega Blade for you English people; a sword created from Neptune's energy, exploding upon impact with the ground, and can also be used as a projectile weapon. Swiping her hand across the air, a sextuplet of these blades was shot out of thin air from behind Neptune, closing in on Meliodas and carving his skin as they went right by him, flying into the large plains behind them and exploding, destroying an entire mountain with ease.
"Tch. . .!"
As the Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins was struck repeatedly by the unnaturally sharp edges of the blades, he flinched, and his wounds were rather visible as the crimson liquid trickled down her arms and cheeks. His outfit was stained as a result.
"D-Danchō. . .!" Diane was only growing more and more concerned for her captain. The fact that Neptune is coming out of nowhere with this power and injuring Meliodas in a way that not many have been able to do before. . .it's both absurd and confusing.
"It seems as though the blades were meant to hit him directly and explode. However, due to the fact that they merely grazed his skin and did not strike him fully, they did not, and by hitting the mountain in the foreground, the blades exploded. An interesting technique," Gowther spoke, as he abnormally watched the fight with a rather indifferent overall reaction to the action.
"Neptune is a strange person, after all," Merlin said in response, floating a little higher so she could get a better angle of the fight.
Looking back at the destruction inflicted by the myriad of 32-X Blades, Meliodas folds his arms and comments on it with,
"Hoh. A pretty cool technique, honestly. I probably would've taken some serious damage if those didn't end up just barely missing me."
He turns around with his blade raised and angled upward, staring Neptune down with a rather serious expression.
"Looks like I can't afford to keep it hiding for much longer. Your strength is pretty immense if you were able to do that with just six of 'em."
"Being at the max level has its benefits, y'know!"
"But. . .don't think that your power alone is going to win you the fight! Or as you aptly put it. . .your 'level'!"
Meliodas' sword suddenly flared up and became coated in a black-purple flame. Its power radiated like it was Negative Energy. It had this ominous, abyssal feeling to it, yet it couldn't be Negative Energy. There's no way it is. . .he isn't a CPU that can use it! The only one who was shown to use it was the CPU of Darkness!
"Herubureizu Wēbu (Hellblaze Wave)!"
Thrusting the tip of his sword forward, a massive flood of the black-purple flame shot forward at Neptune. The CPU put her arms up in an X-shape to protect herself from the attack, but she took it head-on as it faded out near the end, forming a feather-like shape. An oxy-acetylene torch flame shape, if a comparison were to be made. Everyone watched in awe. . .that was the same kind of technique that Hendrickson used against his opponent at one point in the battle for the kingdom!"
"Yaaay! Danchō got a hit in!" Diane jumped up for joy as she watched the flames impact Neptune directly.
Once he stopped outputting the flames, Meliodas blew on the tip of the blade as if putting out a real fire, despite the fire being extinguished in the first place. His arm fell back to his side as he waited to see if Neptune was still there, considering he can't sense her power. . .to which his curiosity was answered with a direct punch to his cheek as Neptune's cheeks appeared to be slightly burnt from the immense heat of the fire, but otherwise, she remained totally fine [1]!
The crowd collectively gasped and created a bit of commotion; it was unreal seeing this otherwise inconspicuous little girl being able to contend with the most powerful member of the Seven Deadly Sins, and the one to save the kingdom from the clutches of Hendrickson. Just who. . .or better yet, what is she?
"I-incredible. . .she withstood Meliodas' attack and only got a small injury on her cheek!"
"Danchō. . ."
"Meliodas-sama! You can't lose! Please!" Elizabeth cried out to Meliodas, pleading for him to win this battle. Upon the words reaching his ears, Meliodas tightened a fist and launched it right into Neptune's stomach, staggering her a little bit and causing her to spit out a bit of saliva from the pure force of his attack.
"Sorry, Nep. . .but I have to win this to prove myself! To prove it to the one I want to protect! RrraaaAAAGH!"
He continued to push his fist forward, and the momentum behind it launched Neptune far beyond the walls of the kingdom, all the way to a nearby pair of mountains. Meliodas landed on the castle's spire, and by kicking his feet off the ground, he near-instantaneously caught up with Neptune, pulling back his fist and thrusting it once more into Neptune's chest; the speed behind said attack breaking the sound barrier and sending the CPU into the ground, with even more tremors rocking the kingdom, and rocks jumping into the air from the destruction.
"Merlin! We should head over there," Diane exclaimed
"Agreed. Diane, Hawk, Gowther. We'll be arriving there shortly. Make sure to brace yourselves in the event they continue to attack each other again. I'll protect Elizabeth."
As Merlin snapped her fingers, the five of them were immediately teleported from the entrance of the castle to the top of one of the mountains, where the battle would now be taking place. Rocks from the impact were still flying into the air, and a column of dust and smoke rose high into the sky, continuing to do so for multiple dozens of seconds.
"Did Danchō win. . .?"
"No. I can still sense Neptune's presence. She's down there in the debris."
From within the smoke, five small glimmers of light temporarily flashed and broke through the opaqueness. But when they disappeared, another light appeared, this one remaining constant and multiple times bigger than the previous lights.
"Kuwaddo Basutō (Quad Burst)!"
Neptune's voice shouted out the name of the attack as the smoke was cleared from the force of Neptune kicking the light. As it parted, this light was revealed to be a gigantic sphere of intensely powerful energy launching straight at Meliodas at lightning speeds from the kick.
'Damn it! I can't use. . .!'
Once the sphere collided with Meliodas' body, it exploded, with the explosion range encompassing hundreds of meters around the battle zone, big enough to completely engulf multiple Dark CPUs.
Quad Burst. A Formation Attack that concentrates the energy of four individuals into one massive sphere, resulting in a powerful explosion afterward. Normally, as the name entails, it would require four people to activate and use it. For Neptune to be able to use it all by herself. . .she must have grown much stronger from her first use of it a few years ago during the events of VII.
From the depths of the debris, Neptune stood there, staring up at the explosion with a particular glow in her eyes. Her expression was more serious and focused. . .she's starting to realize that this isn't just some sort of Colosseum fight or Guild request. It's a real brawl.
She hops out of the small hole made from her earlier collision, continuing to stare up at the light from the explosion. From the center, Meliodas came careening back down to the surface, reasonably injured from the attack. His outfit seemed shredded, as the raw power tore at it.
"To take such a powerful attack the way he did, Danchō must have activated it," Merlin said.
"Eh? 'It'? Do you mean. . .?" Diane asked in a curious tone.
"Yes. He must have activated some of his Demonic power. Had he withstood it without it activated, he would have most likely been put into an unconscious state, or potentially even be fatally injured [2]."
Meliodas crashed into the ground, causing an uprise of more dust as Neptune stood there. She knows he isn't finished just yet. As he walked forward from the dust, a particular mark appeared around his right eye. It appeared to be some type of scepter-like shape. A swirl in the center as the rod to said scepter trailed down his eyebrow and even below his eye, and in the top-right, a spiked and curved shape.
This is his Demon Mark [2].
"Hehee. . .I knew you were hiding something, Meliodas! The Protagonist of Protagonist never fails to guess at anything!"
"Sate, sate, sate. What do you say we finish this up and head back to the tavern, Neptune?"
"Nothing would make me happier to do so. . .Meliodas."

With both fighters tightly gripping their swords, the air around them felt tight and tense. With Meliodas at the highest level of power in his current state, Neptune. . .who even knows at this point? Her power could be at its peak in her Human Form, or it could not. Without a way to determine her Power Level, we can't say for certain.
All we know. . .is that this fight is reaching its end. Both of them dashed forward at each other, with Neptune swinging her sword violently and swiftly in her Nep Battle Dance technique, a combo move she made herself. Purple Force's edge continuously hacked and slashed against Meliodas, to which Meliodas countered by hacking and slashing against Neptune with his own sword. Neither one was dodging the other's attacks at this point, but rather, working as fast as they could to take the other one out.
"Meliodas-sama. . .he's going to win, right?"
"Danchō could never lose! He beat Hendrickson! For Neptune to make him use this much of his magical power and possibly win. . .she'd have to be. . .!"
"All we can do is observe. It's incomprehensible, but Danchō is being pushed to his current limits. Whilst Neptune, from watching the fight alone, seems to be using around a third of her strength. That powerful attack from earlier appears to tell as much."
"Without a readable Power Level, we can't say that for certain, Gowther. Let's just watch and see what happens," Merlin said, as the others quieted down and watched the fight unfold.
Lightning bolts periodically shot out from their clashes and attacks, damaging the surroundings and sometimes catching fire to the grassland (albeit temporarily before it sizzled out). The two fighters. . .no. . .the two warriors zipped and zoomed around the open area, as the impact from their shockwaves could be seen with each clash and in the different areas via the grass.
"Score one. . .for the protagonist!" Neptune shouted out. As she infused her blade with lightning magic, she swung her sword across Meliodas' chest and inflicted him with some form of Paralysis. Meliodas couldn't move. . .and he wouldn't be able to until the effect wore off. Using this opportunity, Neptune laid multiple slices across Meliodas' body at a speed that nobody could see, and hopped high into the air. As Purple Force seemed to be taking in some energy, Neptune then shouted out. . .
"Jigen Kaihō (Dimensional Liberation)!"
Dimension Liberation; one of her moves from a crossover game!
Yeah, I remembered it existed, and it looked cool as hell in that game, so I put it here.
As she plummeted back to the ground at insane speeds, she thrust her sword down into the earth as a pillar of violet energy exploded into the sky and slowly expanded until it faded out, severely damaging Meliodas and rendering him unconscious.
"Meliodas-samaaa!" Elizabeth cried out.

Once the dust settled, Neptune stood over Meliodas' body. . .both appeared to be battered and battle-worn from their little exhibition. She wasn't moving. . .her grip on Purple Force weakened, dropping the blade before she herself collapsed, falling on her back and passing out. She had used so much energy in Dimensional Liberation that she pushed herself to the point of unconsciousness.
The two lay there in silence as a gentle breeze swept by both of them.
"This fight is now over. Looks like Neptune won against Danchō, but barely," Gowther said in a monotone voice. The Sins, Hawk, and Elizabeth all run down the mountain and to both Neptune and Meliodas. Seeing them unconscious like this. . .
"Meliodas-sama. . ."
"Don't feel so sad, Elizabeth. Danchō tried his best, but it looks like Neptune just managed to pull through. We should be happy knowing that someone like her isn't against us," Merlin said as she picked up Meliodas with levitation.
"Neptune. . ."
Diane looked down at the slumbering pinkette. Her clothes were torn, and blood slowly dripped from her arms. The Giant picked her up and looked at her, smiling proudly.
"You really are amazingly strong, aren't you. . .?"

"Uhm. . .this time, we're filling in for Lady Neptune because she is still resting after her fight with Meliodas-sama. I'm sorry for the inconvenience."
"Elizabeth, you don't gotta be sorry, I'm sure they'd understand!"
"W-well. . .we did have to do a little bit of snooping into Lady Neptune's belonging to figure out what to do when we're here in this studio. . ."
"Who cares, it's not like she's gonna find out after this?"
"I-I suppose so. . .anyways, we wanted to let you know that we are very happy to know that Lady Neptune is as strong as she is!"
"Yeah. . .to think she would be able to barely win against Meliodas like that! It's crazy! She can't even have a readable Power Level! She's gotta be some sort of monster!"
"H-Hawk! Don't say that! Lady Neptune is very kind. . .!"
"Elizabeth, I didn't mean it literally."
"A-ahm. . .s-so. . .audience. . .we'd like to hear your thoughts on that fight that just occurred."
"Yeah, yeah! Tell us what you think! Did'ya find it to be an awesome spar, or did you think it was a total slaughter?!"

. . .soft groaning emanated from the slumbering Goddess as she slowly opened her eyes and was welcomed by the sight of the wooden ceiling.
"Mmrh. . ."
"Hoh! She's waking up now! Jeez, she's quite the sleeper, isn't she?" the voice of a familiar blonde boy said.
"Danchō, don't act like you don't sleep just as much!" the voice of a Giantess said on her left side.
As she continued to pry open her eyes open, Neptune was able to see more and more with her vision unblurring. Meliodas, Elizabeth, and Hawk were on the right, whilst a shrunken Diane was on the left, kneeling down beside the CPU.
"Yo, Nep! How's it goin', kiddo?"
Groaning just one more time, Neptune rubbed her eyes to wake up a tad more before sitting in an upright position. Somehow, her clothes were repaired, and her injuries had managed to heal in such a short amount of time. How? Plot convenience, of course. Those clothes have gotta have some sort of. . .regenerative property or something; they somehow always manage to stay unscathed.
"Meliodas. . .? Gaaah, what happened? My head really hurts. . ."
"You passed out after your victory against Danchō, Neptune. Needless to say, your power is rather incredible. And yet, from what Gowther has said, you weren't even going all-out."
"Ehehe. . .well, it's like I said. . .a skilled cat always hides its claws. . ."
"You're amazing, Neptune! You're even stronger than Hendrickson! You're the only one who can give Danchō a real fight at this rate!" Diane exclaimed excitedly as she gently grasped Neptune's hand.
"Heh. . .don't try and put all the credit to me, Diane. . .Meliodas did really good, too. He took my Quad Burst pretty well. . ."
"Nishishi! I gotta hand it to you, Nep; for your first showing of your power, you've exceeded my expectations tenfold! You'd be a great addition to the team!"
"The team? Well, thanks, but. . .I don't really think having me join the Seven Deadly Sins is a—. . ."
"Not our group, bakayarou. I mean just tagging along with us for a little while or so. After all, if you're here, then you've probably got a ton of free time, right?"
Cue the metaphorical sweating of bullets from the CPU.
"U-uh, yeah! I got pleeenty of time!"
"Yush! Looks like we've got ourselves a new friend! How 'bout i—?"
Before Meliodas could finish his sentence, the ground tremors violently. Everyone begins to freak out as the tavern shook with the earth. Hawk started running around in circles in a panic.
"H-hey, what's going on?!"
"Is the world coming to an end?!" Hawk shouted out as he eventually stopped running around in circles and looked at Meliodas.
"What's wrong, Meliodas? It's not like you to freak out!"
"Danchō's acting strange," said Gowther, just out of Neptune's peripheral view.
Meliodas' hand trembled until he eventually clenched a fist. His expression and overall demeanor was dead serious as the usual luster and shininess in his eyes faded, becoming static.
"I knew it. It's them, isn't it?"
"Them? Who's them?" Neptune asked in a curious tone.

Meliodas turned his head towards the direction of the tremor's epicenter.
". . .the Ten Commandments!"

Clarification; [1] - Neptune being able to withstand the fires of Hellblaze is due to the fact that she naturally has a tolerance for the Fire Element; she can easily withstand attacks that utilize the Fire Element from characters such as Rom and Ram, who can both use high-level Fire spells, as well as enemies as strong as Dark Orange, who is one of the most powerful antagonists in the series. The small burns were simply from Hellblaze being hotter than what Neptune is usually up against.
[2] - Meliodas' Demon Mark is essentially a stat buff, to put it bluntly. When the Demon Mark manifests on his face, Meliodas' Power Level increases along with his overall stats. Magic, Strength, and Spirit are all increased, and in regards to the Strength statistic specifically, his physical power, endurance, and speed are all increased by the same multiplier. It's like an HDD Form. . .but no transformation actually happens, just a slight aesthetic change and a stat buff.
Author's Note: Hello again everyone! I'm gonna keep this little note short and sweet, but I really hope you enjoyed the first real fight of this story! It was very fun to write!
