Authors Notes- Here I am back again with another chapter to Beyond The Starry Sky. As you can gather by now I don't own Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. I do, however own the OC's Moondust and Snowstorm as well as the plot. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter Two. I hope you enjoy!
Chapter Two: Autobots To The Rescue!
"Why did I have to get stuck with babysitting duty?" Jetfire muttered, as he leaned against the wall, golden optics glued on the small wooden table where the kids sat playing a game called Go Fish.
And was bored it had just been his luck that he had gotten left behind by Optimus and the rest of them as they went out to investigate the crashed Neutral ship. Sure, he knew someone had to stay behind to watch over things, but he was bored. And as much as he liked some of the kids listening to them constantly ask either if they had a certain card while Alexis sat on the couch, nose in a book got pretty tiresome. Hell, he bet his fellow Autobots had run into the Decepticons and were currently engaging the enemy.
Grumbling to himself Jetfire pushed himself off the wall, and left the kids to their devices as he paced the halls of the base.
"Feeling restless?" Scavenger asked, emerging from the shadows.
"A little since things have been so quiet as of late I was looking forward for something to do. And yet here we are. Stuck at the base while the rest of the crew are out." Jetfire moaned.
"I can understand where you're coming from, Jetfire. But the place the ship crashed is near a public place. You and I would draw too much attention. You more than anyone." Scavenger told him.
"Gee, thanks..." Jetfire grumbled, optics narrowing slightly. "Say Scavenger, " Jetfire spoke again, looking to the other Autobot. "What do you think these Neutrals are going to be like?"
Scavenger was silent as he looked to Jetfire. "What do you mean?" He asked.
"I mean do you think they'd be willing to help us? Or do you think they'll just get in the way and end up being freeloaders or something?" Jetfire said.
"You don't seem too keen on the idea of having them here." Scavenger commented.
Jetfire sighed, looking away from Scavenger for a moment. "I think I'm just wary of having new people here to be honest. Don't get me wrong I'm all for for having more help around here, but I think I'd be more happy if they were Autobots than Neutrals." Jetfire sighed.
He knew that made no sense. Why should it matter if they were Neutrals or Autobots? As long as they carried their weight things should be fine.
"Does that really matter?" Scavenger asked, arms crossed. "I know most people look down at Neutrals, but that shouldn't change anything. Do you think we should just let them run free around Earth unsupervised? Or let the Decepticons get their grubby hands on them. Because as you no doubt know the Decepticons hate Neutrals far more than you do." He said, reaching over and placing a hand on Jetfire's shoulder. "Having them with us would be far kinder than leaving them with the Decepticons, wouldn't you agree?"
Jetfire thought for a moment, a faraway look in his optics. Scavenger had a point. When it came to Neutrals there was no one that despised them more than the Decepticons. Sure, Autobots might not have cared for them but they had never extinguished the sparks of Neutrals simply because they wouldn't join their cause. Where as the Autobots, while not being too keen on the idea of the Neutrals, always allowed them to choose how they lived their lives.
After all, the Autobots had far more important to deal with than trying convince Neutrals that it was a good idea to join the Autobot cause. So, the Autobots left the Neutrals to their own devices. And in turn the Neutrals left them alone. In fact Jetfire hadn't really given Neutrals much thought until he had heard about the ship crashing here on Earth. Which in turn brought up another question that had been on Jetfire's mind as he looked to Scavenger once more.
"So, uh, I suppose when...if Optimus and the rest of the Autobots find these Neutrals they will be staying here?" Jetfire asked.
Scavenger shrugged. "It would depend on Optimus." He said.
Jetfire nodded and walked off, hoping that whoever these Neutrals were they would be willing to help them in their hunt for the Minicons. After all, the last thing Jetfire needed was a couple of freeloaders taking up space while he and the rest of the Autobots risked their necks. That would not sit well with him not at all.
They were going to die. Moondust thought, as she looked up at the Decepticons that loomed over her and Snowstorm menacingly. The blue and white femme lay motionless at the feet of the tan Decepticon. Was she dead? Hurt?
"Snowstorm?" Moondust managed to choke out, and was rewarded with a sharp kick to her side by the Decepticon closest to her. Making her cry out.
Dropping to the ground Moondust looked to Snowstorm once more as the Decepticons chuckled, this was not how Moondust thought she was going to go out. Actually if she actually thought about it she never really gave it much thought to how she would die. But this wasn't how she pictured things. Before she could dwell on that thought for much longer it Megatron stepped forward, and at the moment timed seemed to stop, all the other Decepticons taking a step back, giving their leader room. As gleaming red optics burned into her blue ones, a cold grin on his faceplate.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" The Decepticon leader said, his voice sending shivers down her spinal strut as his fingers brushed against her chin. Forcing her to meet his gaze. His optics looking her over, making Moondust's plating crawl.
"It would seem we have ourselves of couple of Neutrals here, sir." The tan Decepticon supplied.
At that Megatron looked to the one called Demolisher. "Is that so?" Megatron looked to her once more. "That's surprising, I had thought that all Neutrals had been wiped out on Cybertron." He mused.
Standing up Megatron released Moondust from his iron grip, allowing Moondust to inch towards the wounded Snowstorm, biting down on her bottom lip as pain radiated from her wound. More energon spilling from her wound.
"Tell me," Megatron spoke, looking to the two femmes once more. "What brings you here?" Megatron moved towards them once more.
"N-not like we had much of a choice." It was Snowstorm that spoke, surprising both Moondust and Megatron.
Moondust looked over her shoulder at her companion. Relieved that she was still alive, not that it would matter. As no doubt the moment that Megatron found out that they had no intention of joining them it would be game over for the two of them. But that didn't sit well with Moondust, as she bared her denta at him.
"Just passing through, what's it to you?" People had always told Moondust that her inability to keep her mouth shut would get her in trouble one day, and today seemed to be that day. As Megatron growled and grabbed her by her neck, lifting her up.
"Let...her...go..."Snowstorm choked out, the white and blue femme managed to push herself up, blue optics narrowed as she ignored her own wound, and got to her feet.
At this Megatron looked from Moondust to Snowstorm, a scowl on his faceplate as he looked Snowstorm over, seeing how the femme was barely able to stand up. Smoke rising from the gaping hole in her back. And despite that she wanted to help her friend, and Megatron that was rather...amazing. Perhaps these femmes would be of use to him, Megatron thought as the one called Moondust struggled in his grip.
"Let her go?" Megatron parroted, sounding like he was considering it, a smirk on his lips, as several of his Decepticons chuckled. However the smile soon disappeared from Megatron's faceplate as he tightened his grip on Moondust. "No. In fact I have an offer for the two of you." He said, as Moondust continued to struggle in his grip.
"I know what you're going to ask." Snowstorm said, optics narrowed and blazing. "And the answer is no."
Megatron's features darkened as he glared at Snowstorm, who had managed to move to where her blaster lay, and was now aiming it at Megatron. A low growl escaping Megatron's throat.
"And you're quite certain with your answer?" Megatron asked, holding the still struggling Moondust out in front of him.
Snowstorm looked to the purple femme, her optics going dim as her struggles seemed to cease. Snowstorm bit down on her bottom lip, her gaze flickering from Moondust to Megatron and his Decepticons then back to Moondust.
Moondust whimpered as she still tried to break free though it was all in vain. Moondust didn't deserve to die, but Snowstorm knew there was nothing worst than serving under the Decepticons. But if she didn't do anything Moondust would- No! Snowstorm jerked herself from that train of thought, optics narrowing further.
Snowstorm would not give up. Just because they were currently trapped on this strange planet didn't mean she would allow them to become victims of Decepticon scum. And thought Moondust clearly didn't want to die Snowstorm knew that there might not be any other choice. Gritting her denta she aimed her blaster at Megatron anger radiating off of her in waves. Silence permeating the area, all optics were on the wounded Snowstorm.
The bearings on this femme. Megatron thought, the corner of his mouth turning upwards, before he burst out laughing. "Would you look at his one." He said, addressing his men.
"It looks like this little Neutral has a spine." The one called Wheeljack commented with a sneer, walking up to stand beside Megatron.
Megatron's smile slowly disappeared as he dropped Moondust onto the ground, the purple and white femme groaning as she struggled to her feet, whimpering in pain as Wheeljack pulled her to her feet. Megatron looked to Snowstorm once more, seeing the hand that held the blaster was trembling. Chuckling Megatron advanced on Snowstorm, the blue and white femme taking a few steps back as he did so.
Then, without much warning Megatron delivered a harsh backhand to Snowstorm's faceplate, sending her flying before hitting the ground with a pained grunt. "I'm wondering where you and your friend get the idea that you have a choice in the matter." Megatron growled, roughly pulling Snowstorm to her feet again. "I know you Neutrals enjoy your freedom. But I'm not giving you or your friend a choice in the matter." Megatron growled as he pulled back his fist once more, ready to strike Snowstorm again.
When a shot rang out, a blast striking Megatron in the arm making him cry out, and stumble backwards. Looking up both Moondust and Snowstorm felt, for the first time in what seemed like forever, hope. As they saw who had come to their rescue. The Autobots!
We're too late! Optimus thought, optics narrowed as he and the rest of the Autobots transformed, Optimus growled as he looked to the Decepticons that surrounded the two Neutrals. Dread forming in the pit of his tank when he saw that they were wounded. Optimus hoped they weren't too late as the Autobot glared at Megatron.
The leader of the Decepticons glaring right back at him. "Well, well look who decided to show up." Megatron growled, red optics narrowed. "However you're too late Optimus Prime. These Neutrals are about to join the Decepticon cause..." Megatron trailed off, a scowl on his faceplate as he glared down at the two femmes. "...With a little persuasion." He finished, as he looked to the dark blue and white femme as she fought to stay on her feet.
While the purple and white one sat up, pain shining in her optics.
"Let them go, Megatron!" Optimus demanded, aiming his own blaster at Megatron. "They don't belong to you."
"Well, you're right there, Prime. But I'm sure with a little help I'm sure they'll become perfect additions to my growing army."
"Are you dense?" The purple one rasped, rubbing at her throat, all while trying to shove Wheeljack off of her. "Snowstorm and I already told you we're not interested in joining the 'Cons!"
A low growl came from Wheeljack, before driving his fist into her faceplate, sending to the ground. "Shut your mouth." Wheeljack snarled, glaring down at the femme.
A low growl sounding from the femme as she glared up at Wheeljack. That was all the prompting the Autobots needed as they charged at the Decepticons, Optimus grappling with Megatron, pushing the Decepticon back. An enraged growl escaping Megatron's throat as he struggled to push Optimus back. While a yellow Autobot lunged at Wheeljack, the femme that was laying at his feet ducking down as he did.
Well, Moondust thought, as she managed to crawl to where Snowstorm lay. Things certainly escalated, didn't they? Moondust bit down on her bottom lip as she pulled the other femme close, trying her best to stay out of the way of the Autobot/Decepticon fight before her. Flinching as the tan Decepticon was sent flying, a smirk forming on her faceplate as he hit the ground with a pained grunt, and did not get up again. Blaster fire echoed all around them as the two femmes looked around.
It would seem that neither Autobot nor Decepticon had noticed them as they slowly began to sneak away, maybe while both fractions were busy with their little scuffle they would manage to get away, and get back to their ship. Moondust hoped, dragging the barely conscious Snowstorm along with her. Maybe by some miracle of Primus they might be able to get it working. She highly doubted it, Snowstorm had told her that their little starship was a lost cause, but anything was better than standing around here and risk getting ever more hurt, or even killed. Or even worst in the clutches of the Decepticons.
Biting down on her bottom lip once more as Moondust looked around as the Autobots and Decepticons continued to fight. Things were finally looking good for them, though as Moondust dragged Snowstorm further and further away a question formed in her overly stressed mind. If they got away from here where would they go? If their ship was truly scrapped then that meant they were stuck here on this strange planet. And it would seem that the questions kept piling up with no apparent answers.
"Come on, Snow. Let's get out of here before things end up even worst for us." Moondust said. And at just that moment a shot rang out, the blast nearly striking them. Looking up Moondust saw the unnamed red and white Decepticon coming towards them.
"And where do you think you're going?" he growled, firing on them again.
"Trying to get away from the Decepticon stench." Moondust growled, as Snowstorm let out a pained groan. That seemed to rub the Decepticon the wrong way as he closed the distance between the two of them.
Biting down on her bottom lip once more. Moondust off-lined her optics as he loomed over the two of them, awaiting death once again. And was once again surprised when it did not come as another shot rang out, followed by a pained cry.
On-lining her optics Moondust saw an orange and blue Autobot standing over her." You okay?" he asked, rifle gripped in his hands.
Swallowing thickly Moondust nodded, optics glued on him as he held out a hand to her. Muttering a faint thanks as she took it, and allowed him to pull her to her feet.
"You got a name?" The Autobot asked.
Moondust was silent as she continued to look up at him, it was then she took a moment to look around, surprised to see that the fight seemed to be over. Most of the Decepticons could be seen limping away. The tan Decepticon was being helped by Cyclonus, the latter continuing on with his cackling. And Moondust had to wonder if the guy was insane, and then shoved that thought away when she realized the Autobot was still waiting for her to answer.
"Moondust." She said, looking to her rescuer once more. "And this is Snowstorm." She added, gesturing to the wounded femme at her feet, who groaned in pain once more.
"You're hurt." The Autobot commented again.
"It's been a rather rough day...for the both of us." Moondust sighed.
The Autobot chuckled before letting out a startled gasp as Moondust suddenly pitched forward, the excitement of today was finally catching up with her. And she soon lost consciousness. However, as the darkness swallowed her up she could have swore she felt them all been warped away. Moondust had no idea what was going on, or what was going to happen from here on out. But she hoped that both she and Snowstorm would be okay...
