Chapter 8- Speed Stingers

Town Shkoder. 3 clicks south of Black Site Tora along the Coast line

7th of September 2017

Farmer Ulrich, a 55 year old farmer who was known for his hobby which was, besides the typical stuff everyone had, firing and collecting various types of firearms. Sometimes he was called GI-Uli because of his military History he had with the armed forces of Berk. He heard strange noises coming out of his barn. All his sheep and most of his cows called it their home. His Boito 410 side by side at the ready he slowly opened the door.

Nothing could have prepared him for the scene established in front of him. A bipedal green creature standing at about 7" tore through his now dead sheep.

"Oh no..." he exclaimed before he aimed at the creature and fired two 12 gauge double-aught Buckshot shells into it effectively cutting one leg of and sending chunks of flesh and blood flying into the barns wall. "SPEED STINGERS!!" He yelled with all his might as he reloaded the break action rifle.

"Mia! Alert the town. Speed stinger attack" he yelled at his wife. Then took aim again and fired two more shells into the stinger, killing it. Ulrich ran into the house to get more firearms and ammunition but halfway to his house he felt a sharp pain in his back. The 55 year old couldn't move a muscle and just stood there. He knew what was coming now. He witnessed it countless times. He saw how his loved ones and other townsfolk where pulled back to never be seen again. The only thing found afterwards would be skeletons stripped of all meat and muscle tissue.

Mia walked out with her phone in hand. She had the sheriff on the line. "Uli? Where are- AAAHHHH!!"

The speed stinger who was about to pull Ulrich somewhere to devour him whipped it's head over to Mia. In the split a second Mia was stung by another stinger. The pair would never be seen alive again.

Town Shkoder

7th of September 2017

After Mia alerted the Town all people where in a uproar. The older folks knew what Speed stingers where capable off.

While the Police Station was refitted and renovated to a fortress more and more reports came in that Stingers had attacked the people. Specialized units where sent out to hunt the Reptiles but after 20 minutes none of them gave a response and where assumed dead.

"All Citizens are ordered to seek the next bunker and state their name to the Police man standing at the entrance" this message was repeated over and over again.

Suddenly a whistling was heard and after that explosions echoed throughout the town. Before anyone could react the people in the town dropped dead one after another. The ones who managed to get into a bunker and close the door in time survived but they're in for a surprise.

Time: 03:44h

Ryan just downed two more stingers as the bold of his rifle locked back, indicating that he shot through he whole magazine. Tuffnut kept sending rounds into the incoming Speed Stinger group forcing them to run around frantically and dodge the incoming projectiles.

"If they reach land we're doomed!" Yelled Captain Suarez over the extensive gunfire of the M2 he was manning. Hiccup fired single shots hitting one or two stingers.

The night sky was lit up by tracer rounds going into the sea. Machineguns and rifles firing nonstop. At least 2 alphas where confirmed dead but many others where still out there and they took control over the lost dragons. The Alphas on the other hand where controlled by the red Death. She, the queen of Dragons in the area had sent many attacks towards Berk. The first they faced was Fort Tora, thats why they have this much Anti-Air armament on base. Just recently the Stinger attacks started so the Base had to adapt to the new circumstances.

The Stingers got closer and closer each minute until the first reached the beach. Now in the water they could only run forward and to some degree to the sides but on land they where unstoppable.

"Fuck! They reached land. Concentrate the fire on these fuckers on shore" All the barrels shifted their positions towards the few that actually reached land.

Just as the first one started attacking a thunderous drumming noise came from the base. The Attack helos where in the air. Immediately the night sky was lit up by .50 cal machinegun fire and Hydra rockets screeching towards the earth.

Over Coms then came a call for EVOS. "EVOS this is Command. The Colonel wants you guys here ASAP" said the Coms officer.

"Understood. We're RTB. Over" replied Hiccup.

After marching some minutes they where greeted by some armored Vehicles and transported to the base.

*Slam*

"What the hell was this?!" Shouted Snotlout once he slammed the Door of the car.

"What do you mean? The call to retreat or these speedy Gonzanles things?" Asked Tuffnut.

"Both" chimed in Fishlegs. Ryan got out and immediately took a run for the Hospital. Hiccup tried to stop him but Ryan didn't listen.

"Not again..." Hiccup sighed.

"Command, here EVOS lead. Ryan ran of again"

"*sigh* Tell him to get his ass back immediately"

"When i tried the last time two guards had broken arms and one had a broken nose"

"God damnit! Colonel's calling him. You guys! Get your asses over here ASAP"

"Understood. Alright people you heard her, move it"

EVOS walked towards the command room while Ryan was still running for the Hospital.

*Phone ringing*

"Jaeger."

"Jaeger here's Colonel Hartman. I want your ass here immediately" came the booming voice of the Colonel.

"Sir, i just wanted-"

"Negative Jaeger, you've caused enough damage with this. I didn't ask Lieutenant! Move it"

"Roger sir" said Ryan through gritted teeth.

He was so close and yet so far. It weren't even 20 steps till the entrance of the Hospital and yet he had to turn around. "Curse this damned Job!" He yelled into the nothingness of the early morning. The first Speed Stinger Attack slowly came to an Halt. But the more experienced soldiers knew, this was only the beginning.

FBFA Black Site Fort Tora

Time: 05:32h

Walking through the Hallways of the Command on building on the way towards the Command room Ryan met multiple shadowy Black Ops guys. Not your normal Shadowy black ops guys. But these guys not even the President knew about. They threw glares at him which he didn't really notice because of the black Balaclavas and black tinted goggles.

Opening the heavy doors he was greeted with the sight of more Shadowy figures and the rest of his Squad.

"Finally! Did you get lost?" Asked Tuffnut with a grin.

Ryan didn't reply but only walked to his seat and sat next to Hiccup.

"Alright. Since we're complete now here's the OP. EVOS and Fallout Squads are tasked with finding and rescuing civilians from a town near by. They also got attacked by Speed stingers. Two Boneknapper helos are on standby for you guys. Ready up and move it. I want as much civis alive as you can find. EVOS, you're dismissed. Fallout stay here. OP starts in 30"

"Yessir" came the unified response from the two different squads.

Colonel Hartman waited until all EVOS member where outside before he adressed the 12 men from Fallout Sqaud.

"Alright boys. I need one civi alive. All the others are collateral damage. No traces left and if needed no lose ends. Shoot the newbies if needed"

"But sir..."

"No buts KC. Do as you're told"

"Understood sir"

With EVOS

Ryan and the others walked outside the armory where they got they're ammo from and then to the airfield to hop into the BK's. Ryan saw that one of the Artillery batteries was readying up to fire and in the general direction they would fly in. But Ryan didn't give it a second thought.

"Hey Ryan! Where were you?" Asked Astrid shaking him out of his thoughts. Ryan jumped a little but composed himself again after some seconds.

"Yeah dude, why'd you run of like that?" Chimed in Tuffnut.

Suddenly before anyone else could ask Ryan's phone rang again. He excused himself and walked away from the group. He looked down and immediately recognized the number.

"Agent?" He asked.

"Lieutenant, i'm pretty sure it's Captain Haddock. If not the other guy is a darn good liar"

"100%?"

"No. So don't go and do something you regret later on"

"understood. Bye"

"bye"

After the short phone call Ryan walked back to the group where the asking began again. Now everybody at once.

"Ryan, the hell is wrong with you?" Asked someone.

"What's happening with you?" Asked another.

Ryan lost his composure and yelled out. "Everybody shut the fuck up! It's none of your god for saken business"

Astrid tried to calm him down but got shoved back. Then Hiccup came in.

"Ryan! As your CO I'm ordering you to calm down. Damnit"

"Oh! Only cause your a Captain you think you are something better huh? I got news for you buddy. I can switch your lights out any day of the week. Don't test me"

Everyone realized that Ryan just threatened not just their CO but also the President's Son. Nothing was said. You could hear a pin drop it was that silent.

Ryan eventually calmed down just before Fallout squad arrived. "Alright ladies hop in we're leaving"

"Archer, this is command you have fire permission"

"Understood command. Sending rounds down range, over"

Multiple Artillery batteries fired airburst shells into the sky above Shkoder town in an afford to make it rain.

Ryan noticed the Artillery guns firing before his Helicopter took off.

"This is Black Pepper-1. We're airborne. I say again. We're airborne on route to Shkoder. ETA-10 mikes. Over"

"Understood Black Pepper-1. Command has issued a change in procedure of the OP. Black Pepper-2 with EVOS on board is gonna hover 5 mikes above LZ after your Touchdown. Fallout Squad needs to swarm out. Fallout Squad knows the rest of the Plan. Over and out"
