I didn't watch much after Scrubs left and "Jason" went back to Sam. I liked Roger's chemistry with Becky, but I hated the "Franco" s/l where he was "redeemed" with a tumor. I hated how they reduced Elizabeth to taking Ric back, getting involved with AJ, and falling in love with Franco, a man who was accused of sexual assault. Franco was killed in 2010 by Jason.
In the OG story, Franco returns. Instead of Franco, Liz is involved with "Robert James Frank" (no relation to Scott or Heather). There was no time to develop the relationship for the backstory of Drew/Franco.
I also did not like the brain mapping s/l and "switch' with Franco to avoid Cam getting the memories. In this version, this never happens. Kim Nero and her son Oscar do not exist. To explain why "Jason" thinks he is Jason, it has to do with the chip implant and brain conditioning. Other explanations will follow.
Since it does not add to the development of Liason, Hayden does not return to save Elizabeth from a new blood condition she never knew she had. Hayden was killed in 2015 by Carlos.
My timeline may be off, as I wasn't watching.
January 2016-October 2017
Summary:
"Jason" and Sam have reunited. Despite feeling betrayed by Elizabeth's lies, "Jason" maintains a civil relationship for Jake's sake. They have a good co-parenting relationship. Jason and Elizabeth are invested in their son's recovery from his kidnapping and held prisoner by Helena. Jake receives therapy from Kevin Collins. He never gets controlled by Helena again.
Elizabeth enrolled Jake in an art therapy program at GH run by Robert (Bobby) Frank. Bobby moved to Port Charles in October 2015. Bobby helps Jake express himself through his art. Elizabeth and Bobby had their first date in July 2016 and became serious in February 2017. They became engaged in December 2017. Her children love him. He becomes friends with "Jason." Elizabeth's children have a close relationship with Bobby and "Jason."
"Jason" and Sam remarried in September 2016. Sam gave birth to Scout Morgan in February 2017. In October 2017, "Jason" and Sam took over her father's media business. "Jason" wanted to leave the Sonny's organization.

Jason Morgan wakes up not knowing how much time has passed. He has been drugged to keep him subdued. He is able to fight off the drugs. He is a prisoner in Russia. Ava Jerome is in the same clinic for reconstructive surgery on her face. She aids in his escape, and Dr. Griffin Monroe gives him cash while he hides in a nearby church. A priest helps him escape on a ship headed to New York.

Jason arrives in New York and boards a bus for Port Charles. He arrives home and stays out of sight before revealing his location. Jason breaks into his old PH and hides when Sam and "Jason" enter. He overhears that Morgan is dead. Jason sees the man claiming to be Jason Morgan. He looks nothing like him, yet everyone believes he is Jason.
Jason leaves and visits Morgan's grave, indicating that he died on 10/7/2016 at the age of 21. Jason hears a noise and faces the woman who helped him escape Russia. Ava tells what happened to Morgan but doesn't go into the specifics. She tells Jason about "Jason Morgan" and Sam and mentions her brother is Sam's father. Ava discloses she has a daughter with Sonny.
Sam/"Jason"/Jason/Elizabeth (to avoid confusion, "Jason" will be referred to as JM2 and Jason as JM.

Elizabeth is in the park with Jake. They are waiting for his father. (JM2). JM hides but hears and sees his son, realizing Jake didn't die over six years ago.
10/26-11/6/2017
JM faces Sonny and convinces him he is Jason. Sonny tells him what happened with Jake being alive. Carly believes that he is the real Jason. Sam is confused, and JM2 is incensed that no one believes he is not JM.
JM saved Sam from drowning. The men who came after him from his escape in Russia took her as leverage against him. Sam is in the hospital with JM2. A bullet grazes Elizabeth from the men who took Sam. Bobby is with her. Bobby assists Elizabeth in taking laps around the hospital as part of her therapy.
JM2 sees JM and attacks him, believing he colluded with the men who took Sam from the Metro Court. He believes JM is an imposter planted by former associates of Helena. JM has the upper hand and injures JM2 enough to be admitted to GH. JM2 requests to be in the same room as his "wife," Sam. JM is arrested for assault.
Carly fights for JM's release and calls Diane Miller. Diane arrives and is convinced he is the original Jason.
Elizabeth checks out of GH and tells Monica of the man who looks like Jason with his former face. Monica doesn't want to believe it because she finally got to a good place in her relationship with JM2 over the past two years. She is in denial because she has a better relationship now than she did with the one who abandoned her after his accident.

Elizabeth visits the man in lockup to convince herself of what she suspects. Exercising with push-ups, JM stands when he hears the sound of Elizabeth's heels walking toward him. They stare for a minute. JM says, "It's me, Jason."
"I know. Part of me wanted to prove myself wrong after all my mistakes in the last five years. Jason, I thought the other guy was you. Nikolas said he was. I met him as Jake Doe. He had your memories. I was falling in love with him. Helena put a chip in his head to control him. When Nikolas told me he was you, I thought I had another chance to be with you. I was wrong. Secrets and lies have a way of coming out. He wanted Sam like you have chosen Sam."
"I'm sorry."
"Why are you sorry? I'm the one who betrayed your trust years ago when I knew Danny was yours. I told you, but it was too late. You never got to know him before you "died." When I thought he was you, I would have married him and not told anyone. Carly and DNA tests proved he was you. How is that possible?"
"How is it possible Jake is alive?"
"You saw him? Jake thought he heard someone say his name. Helena. It always comes back to Helena. Helena and Faison faked Lucky's death, Helena faked Jake's death, Faison and Jerry Jacks faked Robin's death, and Faison and Helena faked yours. The guy we thought was you he was controlled by Helena. Jerry controlled Robin after JM2 escaped."
"Where is Nikolas? I want him to explain."
"Nikolas died last year, falling off a balcony at Wyndmere."
"I'm sorry. How is Jake?"
"He's excellent! Lucky brought him home. Luke, Laura, and Lucky rescued him from Helena on Cassidine Island. Patrick checked him out and scanned his brain to check for chips. Kevin Collins is treating him. After what happened with Lucky, we did everything possible to ensure he wasn't brainwashed. Jake is in an art therapy program at GH. Bobby has helped him."
"Bobby?"
"Yes, he was with me when JM2 attacked you."
"I'm glad Jake is alive. Has the guy who Jake thinks is his father been good to him? Where is he now?"
"Yes, he is a good man. He's hospitalized next to Sam."
"When I get out, I'd like to see Jake unless you think it will confuse him?"
Elizabeth laughs, "I think we are past that point. I'm confused. Monica doesn't want to believe he's you because they bonded. She's always wanted Jason Quartermaine back, and he is the closest thing to one since he got your memories. I realized my mistakes when Jake returned, and now Monica sees him often. I'll explain it to Jake when you are ready to see him. When Sam wakes up, it will be an adjustment for her, but if she's like the rest of us, she will believe you are Jason."
"I hope you are right. When I saw them, she looked happy."
"She is happy, but he's not you."
Carly said the same thing. She is certain Sam will want me. Elizabeth, it's been five years; how can anyone be sure?"
"I don't know. My track record sucks. The guards are calling for an end to this visit. I'll contact Alexis and have her see you. I am the last person who should be a messenger between Sam and JM2."

JM visits Sam and meets Emily Scout Morgan. JM2 arrives and orders JM away from his daughter. Carly and Sonny arrive to diffuse the situation. Commissioner Jordan knocks on the PH door with the results of the DNA tests. Both JM and JM2 have the same DNA. In 2014, when Jake Doe arrived in Port Charles, his fingerprints were taken, but due to his several surgeries, they were not in AFIS (Automated fingerprint identification). Helena Cassidine deleted JM's fingerprints.

Robin visits her mother for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Patrick stays in California for work. Emma and Noah are at her mom's. She sees JM on the bridge, and after talking for a few minutes, she is convinced he is Jason. They discuss what happened with Jason and how Fiason told Robin he killed him. Robin hands Jason a flash drive from her mother's house. It was hidden in a Christmas Ornament. A note attached said, "From PK Sinclair. Anna darling, my apologies to Jason Morgan." Robin explains it was sent as a present to her mom, and PK was an alias of Faison. Jason thanks Robin and says he will look into the message.
Spinelli visits and reconnects with JM. Spinelli is convinced his old friend is Jason. Jason hands Spinelli the flash drive and asks for his help.
Over Thanksgiving, Jason celebrates with the Corothinos family. Robin stops to see Sonny and Jason but leaves to be with her family. Carly tells Jason what Ava did to Morgan, switching his meds before Morgan died. Sonny says that JM2 didn't react to Morgan's death the way JM would have, which should have been another sign he wasn't JM.
12/1-20/2017
Spinelli researched the flash drive and pieced together information on JM2 identity. Everyone meets at the PCPD, and Jordan Ashford confirms the two Jasons. JM2 is a former Navy Seal, Drew Cain. JM is Jason Morgan. The flash drive explains that the chip Helena implanted held Jason Morgan's memories, and residual effects lingered after they removed the implant.
Elizabeth wants to know how Drew had memories only she and Jason shared. Spinelli replies, "According to blood tests from Jason's time in Russia, he was drugged with Ketimanine. The flash drive indicates he was given doses of a drug that made Jason susceptible to suggestion. He was given leading questions, and that information was copied onto the chip Helena implanted."
Drew and Elizabeth explain to Jake about the man he saw two months ago. Elizabeth says, "You told me the man said your name, and when you saw him, he looked like the ones from my pictures."
Drew says, "I found out I have an identical twin. That man is what I looked like before my accident. My name is Drew Cain, and his name is Jason Morgan. He is your biological father."
Jake cries. He doesn't want another father. He loves Drew. Elizabeth hugs her son and promises him that both men love him. She hopes Jake will give Jason a chance.
Drew, Sam, and Jason tell Danny that Jason is his biological father. Danny accepted the news better than Jake did.
Sam asks Jason for a divorce. She wants to stand by Drew.

Jason stops by Elizabeth's house and meets Bobby. He has a present for Jake. Elizabeth collects Jake, and Jason gives him a drawing kit chosen by Josslyn. Bobby leaves to give the parents time with their son. Jake is more receptive to his dad, and Elizabeth invites Jason to open presents.
2018-2020
Summary:
I watched sporadically and was not fond of how Jason was written then. Some of what happened stays the same.
Jake and Danny bond with Jason. Jason divorces Sam, and she marries Drew. Sam and Drew divorced in 2019, and she reunited with Jason. Drew was presumed dead in September 2019. Dawn of Day did not happen. Jason maintains a close relationship with Cameron and Aiden. Bobby leaves town in October 2020.

A bombing at the Floating Rib leaves two dead and several injured. LuLu Spencer (recently divorced from Dante Falconairi) is left comatose. Elizabeth and Cameron Webber, Dante, and others escape with minor injuries. Jason and Danny Morgan leave moments before the blast of the bomb. Sam, realizing Danny could have died, decides to end things with Jason for her children's safety.

After Thanksgiving to December 18, 2023:
Jason and Elizabeth are relaxing in bed after Thanksgiving. Jason updated her on his conversation with Sonny regarding Michael and Nina.
Elizabeth asks how it went with Sonny. "What is Sonny going to do about Michael?"
"Sonny said he would forgive Michael. Michael is angry at Sonny, but Sonny forgives Michael because that is what fathers do. Michael forgave what Sonny did to AJ."
"What about Nina?"
"Nina is another issue. Sonny said, 'That bich betrayed Carly and Drew, and I can't forgive when someone comes after my family.' Sonny thought Ned was the one who turned on Drew and Carly. He was going to let it slide while Ned thought he was Eddie Maine. When Ned remembered, Sonny and Carly planned on revenge. Lois set him straight. Lois only confirmed what Sonny already knew. I don't know what Sonny has planned for Nina, but I told him I didn't want to know."
What is Sonny going to do about Dex?"
"Sonny said he'd discuss it with Carly first but felt Joss should know the truth. Dex misrepresented himself. He knows he is Claudia's son. I don't know if he knows about Trevor. Claudia was responsible for Michael's shooting, kidnapping Carly, and endangering Joss. Trevor is Ric's father, and you know what Ric did to Carly."
"Love and forgiveness is a strange decision."
"It's a decision Joss needs to contemplate."
"What will you do about Dex/"
"I know what Sonny wants me to do, but Joss is not my daughter, and I won't make those choices for her."
"Did you tell Sonny anything else?"
"I told him that Johnny O'Brien was alive and under my protection.
"Jason, since we are short on time, I suggest we place the remaining letters and journals in a lockbox and revisit them later." Jason agrees.
Cam says goodbye and kisses Emma, promising to return after the new year. He got approval from the school to do remote learning as he wants to help with the move and be there for the wedding.
Jason finalized security on the doors, windows, and the gated entrance on 12/8/2023.
Movers took the remaining things from Jason and Elizabeth's belongings and completed the move on 12/10/2023. The boys helped and closed the current house on 12/12/2023. The family organized and placed possessions in their respective rooms.
They celebrate Christmas early 12/18/2023.
