Thank you for your reviews Admiral809!
In early spring I stepped out of my home, stomping all over the leftover snow. After doing a systems check on my wing functions, which showed that they were fine, I flicked them a few times before leaping off of the highest ledge. I soared across the lake, happy I could fly after three cold months of what humans call winter which had been spent isolating myself from the rest of the island I set up base on and improving my living space.
As I flew over the city of Detroit- invisible of course-, I noticed something was wrong with the usually calm city. Going in for a closer look, I realized that it was the docks that weren't right. I gasped- I definitely did not almost fall out of the air at the sight- as I saw a huge... thing that was swallowing everything metal around it, all the while steadily growing bigger.
I flew over to the monstrosity and began to circle it, the thing seemed unaware of what I was doing. As I got ready my weapon, which was a blaster I'd named Lunesta, one of the thing's tentacles that were waving around hit me. I was knocked to the side, barely maintaining my Invisibility. I got up quickly and dodged the tentacles sent after me. I grabbed my blaster, which had been knocked from my servo when I'd been smacked in the side, and flew out of reach of the tentacles trying to hit me.
I retreated up to- by that, I mean I had the indignity of climbing- a high building and checked my condition. I grimaced, one of my wings weren't responding well and the other one was hardly functional. Looks like I can't get back to base for repairs tonight. I thought, looking to see what else was damaged during the few hits I hadn't been able to block or dodge. Wings, unresponsive. Legs and arms, dented alot. Yeah, this day was going great.
I peeked over the building and saw the one thing I'd never hope to see again, autobots. The very same ones from the ship I'd gotten out of last- what, year? I began praying to Primus that they couldn't see thru invisibility mods, I knew a couple mechs and femmes that could do that. Shockwave was one of them, however, he was currently stationed on Cybertron as a 'bot named Longarm prime.
I watched as they fought the thing, silently cheering them on. I've always wanted to be an Autobot ever since my sister offlined for various reasons, one of them being that they cared for each other much more than my fellow decepticons, among other reasons that I won't list. I almost got up to help them when the black-and-gold bot named Prowl was swallowed by the monster, but decided that it was better to remain hidden as I was a decepticon and they were autobots- simplified version; 'con plus 'bots equals fighting, and I didn't want that.
I think I can get closer to them. I thought, moving across the buildings stealthily, no longer invisible. I went as close as I dared to, watching the yellow-and-black 'bot jump into the things' mouth with something in his servo, ending the battle. I slipped when I leaned in for a better look at what was happening as I had been unable to see because of the dust cloud that was once the monster, drawing the attention of the black-and-gold autobot who was laying down.
I was close enough to hear what he tried saying as he attempted to get up, the energon in me going still as he spoke. "Optimus..." And then he fell back down, the sand that was on his chassis slipping off to reveal a big gaping wound in his chassis. I gasped, the 'bot was severely injured and would most likely not live thru the rest of the solar cycle if he didn't get proper medical attention, and even then there was a high chance of the mech offlining.
Just like Solarburst. The part of my processor that was stuck in the tragic side of my life whispered.
Be quiet. Another part said. It seemed to work because the other didn't talk back.
I jumped down from the building after watching one of the local organics begging the yellow-and-black mech to let her come with- the 'bot agreeing after the girl did something that i couldn't see- and followed them below the water.
I shivered as the freezing water touched my frame- I had yet to scan a car for an alt. mode- and tried to stay out of sight, which was hard to do in the clear-ish water.
I was glad that the autobots weren't on alert for decepticons, otherwise I'd have been spotted much before they'd have reached their ship. The autobots walked in thru the main entrance while I circled the repair ship, looking for an alternative entrance. I soon found one in the shape of a vent and crawled thru it. I must've gained a bit of weight as I didn't fit in it as well as I had the first time I'd been in one, that wasn't good.
I followed the sound of pedes thru the vents, soon the noises stopped and I had to rely on my hearing memory to get to the closest possible area where the 'bots were. I diverted my attention when I heard the same organic who asked the small yellow-and-black autobot if she could come- I still don't know why they wanted to come, I mean, look at this place, it's boring- say an annoyed 'Hey!' somewhere above me.
I froze, thinking that she was talking to me, but I then heard some soft thudding and knew that the human hadn't been speaking to me. I looked around for a tunnel that led closet to wherever the organic fell, bumping my head against the vent roof when I tried raising my helm to see better.
Ow. I thought, finding a tunnel to my right and following it. I soon found a vent cover and shoved it until it was forcefully dislodged from its screws. I carefully moved the vent cover to the side so I could get out of the vent.
CLANG
I winced at the loud sound, quickly ducking back down into the vent and trying to remember the path to get outside of the ship. I met a couple dead ends, but managed to get out. Once out, I ran like the night that Solarburst's energy signature disappeared.
I've probably alerted the autobots of my presence, now what? I ducked my helm when I saw search drones patrolling the docking bay waters. Drat, I need to be sneaky if I want to get back to base tonight.
I heard engines and turned my helm to see the 'bots from earlier- my memory isn't that bad- driving thru the water towards the ramp, which was where I was. I bolted out of the water, most likely startling the autobots, and ran like Unicron himself- yes he'd probably be on the decepticons' side, but that still doesn't make him any less scary- were trying to offline me to the shadows of the back alleys and such of Detroit. If the autobots hadnt been aware of my existence here on earth, well they did now.
I dashed thru the backstreets to shake off any pursuing 'bots- I knew these shadows like the back of my servo since I spent so much time there- and once I was sure that the autobots were not chasing me, I ran to the shoreline, turning my wing boosters to maximum velocity, and flew to home.
I'm trying to not interfere with the original plot, but I really want Luna's existence to mess with the timeline, thought not too much. The next chapter I'll try to fit in a scene where Optimus and/or the others find her.
