Chapter 3: Charlie Brown's Discipline Hearing.

It was 5:59 PM. 1 Minute before the Discipline Hearing. And he became more nervous.

"Why are the cops here?" Charlie Brown said.

"Don't worry. I'm here as well."

"Linus Van Pelt: Best Friend of Charlie Brown, and Student Attorney." Linus said, while showing his ID.

"Ok. Before we get started with this hearing, where are the parents of Violet Gray, and Charles Brown?" Mr. Robinson said.

"Sorry that we're late. Traffic was brutal. Silas Brown. If you want a haircut, stop by my barber shop, I will make sure your haircut goes perfectly, or the next appointment is free. Satisfaction Guaranteed." Silas said.

"We're also here. Our Daughter Violet is in the Hospital. Apparently due to the injuries caused by your Son." Violet's dad said.

"Anyway, let's just wait for a few more staff members, and we'll get this started." Mr. Robinson said.

"I hope that Juvenile Delinquent gets sent to Juvenile." Violet's mom said.

A few minutes later, multiple staff members, police officers, and even a Probation Officer was at the school.

"Ok. It is now 6:05 PM. So, let's get started. This hearing is for Charles Brown, who has been suspended from Birchwood Elementary School for 7 days for beating a student up. Now, I would ask Violet, but she isn't here. Mr. & Mrs. Gray. Where is she at?" Mr. Robinson said.

"She's not here, because she got sent to the Hospital. She won't be released until at least next week." Violet's mom said.

"Brown. Your son has got some nerve doing that to Violet." Violet's dad said.

"Is this the part where I ask that this Delinquent be sent to Juvenile Hall?" Violet's dad said.

"Not yet, Mr. Gray. Unless the suspect commited murder, there is no need to have him arrested." Mr. Robinson said.

"I Object. Why are the Fucking Cops Here?!" Charlie Brown said.

"Mr. Brown, I am going to recommend you stop with the cursing, this is a school, sir." Officer Casey said.

"Sorry, Sir." Charlie Brown said.

"Anyway, as I was saying before Charlie Brown rudely interrupted me. Would you and Mrs. Gray like to go first in the questions? But before that, Officer Casey, please read the charges that the accused student has received." Mr. Robinson said.

"The student: Charles Brown has been charged with 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Battery of a student, and Civil Disobedience, and disruption of learning. If the student is found guilty of the charges mentioned, the student could be sent to 1 year of suspension, and/or permanently expelled." Officar Casey said.

"Me and my husband would like to go first." Violet's mom said.

"I object, this is fucking ridiculous. Even if Charlie Brown, our son got suspended, we should be able to appeal, right?!" Silas said.

"Overruled. Mrs. Gray, you can go first." Mr. Robinson said.

"I'll show you overruled by the time this hearing is over." Silas said very annoyed.

"Charles Brown. Is this true that you had the total nerve to personally beat our daughter up to the point where she nearly got put on Life Support?" Violet's mom said.

"Yes, Mrs. Gray. It is true." Charlie Brown said.

"Is that true that you have been bothering and threatening to beat our daughter up for the past 2 weeks?" Violet's mom said.

"It's true, Mrs. Gray." Charlie Brown said.

"Well, I rest my case. I say he's guilty as charged." Violet's mom said.

"I Object, Sir! The verdict has not been read yet." Jake said.

"Objection Sustained." Mr. Robinson said.

"Thank you, sir." Jake said.

"Now, Charles Brown. Is what Mrs. Gray said true, or is she lying?" Mr. Robinson said.

"As George Washington said: I cannot tell a lie. So, yes, sir. What Mrs. Gray said is true." Charlie Brown said.

"Alright. Who would like to go next?" Mr. Robinson said.

"I would."

A person who was in Kindergarten was Lucy and Linus's younger brother, Rerun. He was not only their brother, but an attorney too.

"Rerun Van Pelt. Kindergartener, and Attorney." Rerun said.

"Alright. State your name for the record." Officer Casey said.

"Rerun Van Pelt. V-A-N P-E-L-T." Rerun said.

"Raise your right hand." Officer Casey said.

Rerun raised his right hand.

"Do you solmenly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?" Officer Casey said.

"Yes, Sir." Rerun said.

"Where were you during this fight?" Officer Casey said.

"Well, I was getting a drink of water at the time. A Person told me, but I wasn't at the incident at the time." Rerun said.

"Want to explain the list of consenquences for Charles Brown?" Officer Casey said.

"If Charles Brown is found guilty of the charges, he shall be sent to the Give Center not exceeding more than 90 days, and not less than 30 days, he will be required to attend anger management at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center, and will be sent to Juvenile for 5 months after his time ends. During that time, if he is found guilty, he will also be put on probation." Mr. Robinson said.

"What punishments has Charles Brown received at school?" Officer Casey said.

"Charles Brown has served 5 detentions in the past 3 months for bullying, 7 Lunch Detentions, and 5 Days of ISS for harassment. And After School Detention for 2 Hours for slapping Violet." Mr. Robinson said.

"If the behavior is good, the sentence will be reduced to 45 days at the GIVE Center, and 2 months Probation." Officer Casey said.

"I Object! That is unacceptable! I want that Delinquent in handcuffs, and I want him gone." Violet's mom said.

"Overruled." Mr. Robinson said.

"Sir? I know I never called someone before, but I call Charles Brown to the stand, Sir." Rerun said.

"State your name for the record." Officer Casey said.

"Charles Brown. B-R-O-W-N." Charlie Brown said.

"Raise your right hand." Officer Casey said.

Charlie Brown raised his right hand.

"Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?" Officer Casey said.

"Yes, Sir." Charlie Brown said.

"Were you present on the time of the fight?" Officer Casey said.

"Yes, Sir. I was. I tried to contain my anger. But after what I was told by Violet, I just went overboard on my anger. Look. I am deeply sorry for what I did to your daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Gray." Charlie Brown said while crying.

"I never meant to nearly commit murder on your daughter! I NEVER MEANT THAT!" Charlie Brown just broke down in tears.

"I'll take any punishment. Whether Juvenile, Expulsion, or even Probation. I regret ever attacking Violet Gray, Sir." Charlie Brown said while crying.

"I rest my case, Sir." Officer Casey said.

"Alright. We'll take a 5 minute recess." Mr. Robinson said.

"Well, Silas. Even though your son apologized while breaking down in tears, me and my wife still want him sent to Juvenile. And I am needing a haircut." Violet's dad said.

"Well, Mr. Gray, if you want, you could make an appointment in-person. I will make sure your haircut is perfect, or the next appointment is free. Satisfaction Guaranteed." Silas said.

5 Minutes later, the Principal, along with the Police Officers, and Probation Officer came back with the verdict.

"What do you think the verdict is?" Charlie Brown said.

"Not Guilty. It's a no brainer." Jake said.

"We have decided on the verdict. And given the circumstances of this matter, I find that Charles Brown has caused serious bodily harm on a student. And so, by the power vested by the principal of Birchwood Elementary School, Mr. Robinson will announce the verdict." Officer Casey said.

"Mr. Charles Brown. We have reached a verdict. And I Find that you have been responsible for attempted murder on Violet Gray. The charges will be as followed." Mr. Robinson announced.

"On Count 1: 1st Degree Assault on Violet Gray. I Find You Guilty. Punishable by 15 Days at GIVE Center North."

"On Count 2: 2nd Degree Battery on Violet Gray. I Find You Guilty. Punishable by 25 Days at GIVE Center North."

"On Count 3: Civil Disobedience. I Find You Guilty. Punishable by 15 Days at Give Center North."

"On Count 4: Disruption Of Learning. I Find You Guilty. Punishable by 10 Days At Anger Management, at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center."

"And On Count 5: Attempted Murder on Violet Gray. I Find You Guilty. Punishable by 3 Months at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center."

"I am also ordering you to stay within 500 Feet of Violet. Failure to adbide with what I said, will result in 2 years in Juvenile, and 15 years in Prison." Mr. Robinson said.

"15 Years?!" Charlie Brown said.

"Also, to prevent further acts of rage: The School hereby orders you to undergo the next 3 Months of Anger Management at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center."

"I find in favor of Mr. & Mrs. Gray, and sentence Charles Brown to 60 Days at GIVE Center North, 3 Months at the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center, 3 months and 10 Days of Anger Management in the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center."

"The total amount of days starting from today: March 30th, 2023 to the End of the Give Center Period, May 30th, 2023. March 30th, 2023 to October 10th, 2023 for the Anger Management, and March 30th to June 30th in the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center."

"What is the total amount of Days?" Officer Casey said.

"Starting Tomorrow, Charles Brown will be serving the next 193 Days of his suspension. He won't be able to return to Birchwood Elementary School until October 10th, 2023.

"So? How many days am I getting? I hope it's less than 10 days." Charlie Brown said.

"Check the result of the discipline hearing." Officer Casey said.

So, Charlie Brown decided to check what the outcome was. And he was horrified.

"What the..." Charlie Brown said.

"193 Days?!"

"Yes! 193 Days of Suspension!" Charlie Brown said.

"So? What's the outcome." Mia said.

"How about me being in handcuffs after the hearing shows what the outcome is." Charlie Brown said.

"Charles Brown. You are under arrest for 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Battery, Civil Disobedience, Disruption of Learning, and Attempted Murder."

"Please get in the police car, Sir." Officer Casey said.

As Charlie Brown went in the Police Car, he was crying while waving farewell to his best friends, and that he wouldn't see them for the next 193 days.

"Poor Kid. Poor Charlie Brown." Mia said.

"Well. I won't be able to see him for the next 193 days. This is so horrible." Jake said while crying.

"This is unit 390, I'm with a student from Birchwood Elementary School, who was charged with Assault, Battery, Civil Disobedience, Disruption of Learning, and Attempted Murder."

As Charlie Brown was on his way to the Juvenile Detention Center, he hoped to God that it would not end in him being murdered.
